I love all the art the walls. And there's so many places to sit, you can find your own little corner to do work. There's two bathrooms which is nice. And I gotta say, the bartender is doing work. He's the only one working and the whole place is filled up and he manages it very well. They have food and drinks, mocktails included. I love it here. It's very cozy and homey. But just remember to be courteous, that this is a business so it's okay to do work here but if you're gonna be chilling for a while make sure you're getting some drinks every hour or tipping the 'tender. Also careful with some of the hot drinks they can be really.... hot. I burnt the roof of my tongue on my hot cider drink. read more

This spot is quite eclectic with its colorful yet moody decor. I do love the shelves of plants in the back, but that's about it. Upon entering, the space was so quiet with no music. Most people here seemed to be working/studying despite it being 7pm on a Friday night --weird. So you order your food/drinks at the bar, which will then be brought out to you with a number you take for your table. I ordered the 2 Empanadas ($12) and a Spicy Mangorita ($15). For whatever reason, my friend's drink came before mine even though she ordered after me. Then both of our food took 40 minutes and only after we followed up after waiting for so long. We had empanadas and a salad, why would it take so long? They must've forgot (or playing hide and seek). We were also rushing to a show at the Warsaw afterwards, so we weren't sure if we were even going to have time after waiting so long. Anyways, that really deterred the mood. Maybe just stick to a cocktail only here. read more

I had such a great experience at this café! I ordered a burger with tater tots and everything was absolutely on point. The burger was fresh, juicy, and not greasy at all just really well made. The tater tots were crispy and delicious without feeling oily, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere was just as good as the food comfy, relaxed, and full of a really nice vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy your time. On top of that, the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I'd go back to! read more

My husband and I came here for an after dinner drink. I tried the non-alcoholic Negroni which ended up being a pre-made bottle. It definitely tasted like a Negroni! My husband had them make him an old fashioned which he didn't like that much. The best part of this place in our opinion was the board games, the couches, the dj, and the ambiance. The staff was also really friendly and chill. And we stayed and played connect 4 for quite some time. We didn't have much luck with our drinks but would be willing to go again for the other factors and maybe we just chose poorly for drinks. I'd be willing to try again! read more

Stopped by for a drink with my friend on a Saturday night around 6-ish -- a nice sweet spot before the nighttime crowds. The chill house music and dim lighting made for a moody, easygoing vibe. The bartender was friendly and had a very calm demeanor. My friend and I got a couple mezcal cocktails and sat at one of the couches to catch up. The establishment has both high top tables as well as couches for a relaxing experience. The couch we sat at was a little worn in so it was a little hard to get comfortable, but overall it was a nice, cozy time! read more

I haven't been out to Greenpoint in awhile but maybe I should bc I'd get to go to cool spots like this. Loves: + Cocktails are $14. I'm so used to $20+ prices so this was SO nice. + Mocktails are $8. Again, *gasp* bc most places seem to only take $1-2 off from alc prices. + Fun colorful wall art!!! + You can reserve the back area for birthdays... + ... which btw has a beautiful plant wall :) + Nice staff and good service There's food here too but I didn't have a chance to try that this visit. Maybe next time when I'm back?! read more

I've been walking past this restaurant/lounge for a while and finally decided to check it out this week to see what it's really about. Since they aren't vegan- or vegetarian-friendly, I wasn't able to try the food, so my experience was mostly focused on the drinks, atmosphere, and overall vibe. The seating area is nice, spacious, and has a groovy feel -- it honestly reminded me a bit of Portland. The space feels comfortable, and they even have two bathrooms, which is always a plus. On weekends, it definitely seems popular; every time I've walked by, it's been packed. That said, the drinks are pricey. Beer is about average at around $7, but the wine feels overpriced. Paying $20 for a glass when I can get the same bottle next door for $15 -- and enjoy several glasses -- makes it hard to justify. The atmosphere is enjoyable, but there are a few quirks about the crowd and culture that didn't fully click with me. I might visit again for the vibe, especially when it's lively, but unless the drink prices change or the menu becomes more inclusive, it's not a place I'd frequent regularly. read more

This is such a unique spot, I loved it so much. In the daytime it's a cafe but it turns into a bar at night. We went in the daytime, and I think it's perfect for studying - lots of comfy couches and tabletop seats, and it feels cozy. They also have some games you can play with friends. The strawberry hibiscus tea I had was so fruity and refreshing. The barista was so sweet and friendly. What makes this spot special is definitely the interior design, it's really gorgeous and such a surprise since it looks so unassuming from the outside. There is a bathroom inside. read more

Had such a great experience here when my friend and I were in the area. I found this place on Yelp and fell in love with the interior and colors. I tried their berry matcha which I absolutely loved. It took me a while to get into matcha but after this drink I was sold. I also ordered their chicken empanadas which were very filling ( the order comes with 2). They were filled with great proportions and came with this sauce so good! My friend a latte and sandwich and we loved every bit of this cafe. Staff was friendly, there were people studying and they also have live jazz nights. Can't wait to go back again! read more

I came here for a friend's birthday gathering. The vibe was cozy, low key, and inviting. Brightly colored paint and artwork adorned the walls, as well as a stunning floor to ceiling book shelf with plants, books, pottery, and knick knacks. They had lots of couches and ottomans throughout the space for seating, as well as a few tables. There were board games available to play. You could order drinks directly from the bar. They has cocktails and mocktails. I tried the virgin spiced cranberry mule. It was fruity and accented nicely by the ginger beer. This is a great place to unwind with friends or a date. The music volume was perfect so you could easily hold a conversation. Very relaxing, "living room lounge" atmosphere. read more

We stumbled upon this place as we were waiting for our charms we made across the street to be ready. Me and the girlies decided to stop by for a drink. The bartender was so nice and sweet! Had a nice conversation with her as she made our drinks. This spot is so cute! I would work here every day if I could. Tons of space for you to sit and enjoy your drink/food and do work as well. They also have lots of games to play too! Which we definitely played Highly recommend you checking out this spot. It's a vibe!!! I mean look at all the colors and greenery. read more

I recently came back here for drinks. It was far less busy in the evening. I had a glass of wine, which at $14 (as of Jan '25), I felt was pretty standard pricing for NYC. My friend and I split the charcuterie board. For $18, you can pick three meats and cheeses. We opted for prosciutto, soppressata, and Brie. It also comes with a few crostini and jam. I was a little disappointed at the quality of the meats, but overall, it wasn't bad. If I came back for drinks, I'd probably try to come during happy hour and just skip the food. read more

We arrived around 6pm to get some work done, and this spot has quickly become one of my favorites. It's spacious, has WiFi, and offers a great variety of drinks, from coffee to cocktails. Cool find, lots of couches make this coffee shop by day/bar by night a relaxing place. In addition to your espressos and lattes, they have some delicious teas (tried the hibiscus strawberry) and organic juices. The walls and ceiling feature a wild, colorful mural. The servers couldn't have been nicer, allowing my desperate sister to charge her phone. A little oasis on busy Manhattan Ace. read more

Oh you want matcha? Well are you prepared to have the best matcha of all time? Had I known I would be craving their speciality drink days on end, I would have bought my order in bulk! This place is a vibe! I loved everything about it from the incredible design and art to the coffee. Go early to snag a good spot if you want to get some work done and relax. The later it gets, the louder it is. On weekends, it turns into a party with a live DJ and they serve alcohol. A full coffee/drink menu, some quick bites, and desserts on the menu. I went one afternoon and ordered a delicious latte. I sat on one of the colorful couches admiring the art inside. The staff is friendly day or night. What a gem! Well worth a visit. read more

So the first two times I've gone here, I've had a really great experience between the bartenders, the drinks and the music. But the last two times I've tried to go, they have been closed even though their hours say they should be open. I went with my wife and baby to meet our friends and their baby. It is a vibrant, positive space with enough room for both of our strollers without inconveniencing other patrons. What a perfect night. After dinner we chose to have drinks here as the vibe seemed chill and approachable. Found this place by accident on a rainy night last week. Was looking for a place to grab a cocktail and relax. As soon as you walk in, the vibe is super chill, the music is incredible, and the place just makes you exhale. Unfortunately, they were out of the Tea to make their specialty hot toddy, but the drinks we ordered were excellent. It wasn't crowded. It really was just a chill place. I would go here to do a little work, or study, or even have a little date. The next time I'm in the neighborhood, I will be back. read more

Overall rating: 5 I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. I already knew I was going to like it because I'm a huge fan of 4,5,6. But I didn't realize how much I was going to be obsessed with it. The plants, the artwork, everything. I love that they have QR codes for each piece of art to find the artist. I love the space & greenery. I'm curious to see what it's like at night, but I'm very happy in the day. Knowing that I live in south Brooklyn and the hour commute it takes to get here, I will still be coming back when I need a new change of scenery. Highly, highly recommend. read more

Food was good. Coffee was good. I cannot in good faith rate it 5 stars however due to staff indifference to the disgusting and off-putting pet owners treating the lounge as their personal living room. As I write this I am witnessing a person encourage their dog to jump on the couch and get its hair everywhere, yapping away as their owner sips their coffee without shame. Absolutely revolting and I do not think I will be coming back. Really sucks because everything else was great. TLDR; do not allow pets inside the lounge. read more

Hide & Seek is the enigmatic coffee shop and bar combo that New Yorkers have been secretly yearning for. It's the cozy hip basement (not literally, but it has the vibe of your childhood best friend's cool basement ) you never knew you needed - a place where charm and unpretentious vibes blend seamlessly, like peanut butter and jelly in a sandwich of coolness. As I stepped into the warm embrace of Hide & Seek, I couldn't help but think, "Brooklyn, this is exactly what we need!" The ambiance is akin to finding a long-lost record collection that combines nostalgia and trendiness into a harmonious crescendo. But oh, when the sun dips below the Brooklyn skyline, the transformation is nothing short of magical. This cozy cocoon sheds its daytime attire and dons a dazzling evening ensemble of cocktails, camaraderie, and charm. Picture this: You're hunched over your laptop, plugging away at that spreadsheet you've been avoiding like the plague. What's truly enchanting about Hide & Seek is its uncanny ability to lure you in and make you never want to leave. The welcoming embrace of the space feels like a hug from your coziest sweater, or like finally finding that missing puzzle piece that's been taunting you since forever. It's a testament to the thought and care that went into curating this haven. The DJ table in the back isn't just a quirky piece of furniture; it's an invitation to unleash your inner music maestro. The careful juxtaposition of elements isn't accidental; it's a love letter to the Brooklynites seeking a respite from the ordinary. In a world dominated by cookie-cutter establishments and trendy-but-forgettable spaces, places like Hide & Seek deserve all the love and support the community can muster. These are the places that sprinkle the much-needed dash of character in our lives, a slice of personality that elevates them from mere locales to cherished memories. Let's rally around this beacon of charm and camaraderie, ensuring that it becomes a permanent fixture in our lives. Cute place. Went in while waiting for appointment at Brooklyn charm. No AC and only one worker so took a while. Ordered coffee, which was great. Also ordered a quiche and empanada. Quiche came out and it was freezing on inside, but I was in a rush so sucked it up. Empanada came out, frozen inside. When I brought it back up to the counter the worker said "well you already touched it." How would I know it's cold if I didn't try to eat it??? When I said we don't even want it anymore because the quiche was also cold she was like well I can search for a new one and heat it up again. Did not offer my money back or appologize. The worker brought over the new empanada, which ended up being chipotle chicken, we ordered the spinach. I am vegetarian so couldn't even eat it. She also brought over a fresh quiche, again cold. We decided to walk out. Don't think staff handled it appropriately or did anything to fix the situation, except make it like it was my fault. Won't return. Waste of 20 bucks read more
