Relaxed Irish pub in Williamsburg with East River views and a large outdoor dining area, a great stop for visitors exploring the waterfront. Strong sports and soccer viewing culture with friendly, neighborhood atmosphere. Private room with screen available for up to 50 guests, and a good option for informal group gatherings in Williamsburg. Some of the best Irish food I've had in NYC, including a legendary Irish Spice Bag, and of course, a perfectly poured pint of Guinness. My top spot in Williamsburg read more

Just a casual sport bar with first floor waterfront views. We were in the neighborhood and stopped by for a drink and bite. I had the Passionfruit Margarita ($15) while he had a few pints of Guinness ($10). We also ordered a Burger ($15) with Bacon ($2) and Cheese ($2). The add-ons really make this quite pricey. Overall, decent spot. Nothing too special and a bit pricey, but that's Williamsburg for you. read more

Kobe beef sliders, fish and chips, a nice ale, fifa on the tv. Life was perfect in this little oasis of a bar. Watching soccer, pretending as if I had been looking forward to Germany playing Curaçao for weeks. The occasional glance at the Chrysler building across the East River. As I worked my way through my beers, the amazing bartender perfectly timing my refills, I felt as if this may be my new place. My "get away from all the noise" safe haven. That was until I was halfway through beer three. It all got dark. I mean it literally got dark. A waitress began pulling down all the blinds, taking away the sun haven I had found myself loving. Taking away the joy I had worked so hard to achieve. That is when I knew that that beer would be my last. I did not come to a bar with a wall of windows to end up in a place darker than the Rikers Island cells mere miles away. So I ask this one question to the waitress, why? Why ruin the joy of light? Why ruin it? read more

The food was great, drinks were very well priced, and all employees were super well attentive. We primarily had a blonde employee that only works weekend helping us. I asked her to just decide for me what I drank through the night and every drink she brought out was absolutely phenomenal. Will definitely come back here again. Shoutout to her (I'm so sorry, I didn't catch her name. She had many rings on and was just all around amazing.) ! read more

We traveled to Kent Ale House to watch the rugby. The staff are lovely and the bar has great atmosphere. However, unfortunately both me and my partner got sick after eating/drinking here so can't recommend this place. Such a shame as the staff were so friendly and the service had been amazing. We may have just been unlucky but we likely won't visit again. read more

The service was outstanding! We popped in on a rainy day, very cozy and all the games were on and they had nice menu with some irish classics. Big points on the excellent Guinness! read more

Came here on a freezing cold day to watch the Notre Dame game. Kent Ale house is super cozy and casual, with worn in wooden floors, board games to play and lots of TVs to watch sports on. We were seated in the back of the ale house with other Notre Dame fans waiting for the game to start. There was a bit of a sound issue at first so we missed some of the pregame, but eventually the bartender got it fixed. Our waitress was attentive despite how many tables she was juggling -- I think she had the entire back room at one point, so it was impressive she didn't forget about us over in the corner. Drinks were decently priced, they have an extensive cocktail menu that even featured a few hot drinks, plus lots of beers on tap. Can't speak to the food since we'd eaten just before coming here, but all the food I saw going out looked delicious. Will come here again if I'm ever back in the area. read more

A great spot for an NFL Sunday -- it gets pretty busy but never super crowded, would recommend coming early for a table. I appreciate that they label all the TVs with which games they're broadcasting, so you can find a convenient spot to watch your team. Their Frozen Passionfruit Marg just may be my favorite in the city. read more

This place is a divey sports bar. They have tons of screens all over, even for people outdoors. So, you can drink outside on the sidewalk if you'd like to, as that's where they are set up. We didn't make any reservations and just walked into the bar 30 mins before the Knicks game during the playoffs to get a table for the group of eight of us. I suggest that as soon as they play the game, it started getting crowded. I must say that the service is terrible. They need more wait staff, especially during the weekends. The food is alright for a divey bar. But it isn't gourmet. The bathrooms are kinda gross as it's for anyone to use, and people don't know how to pee in the toilet. But I mean, shouldn't the employees go inside and check up on the restroom now and then? That's all I can say! read more

I went to this bar for the first time last weekend and it was so much fun, especially with a group of people! They have a great drink selection, including a mystery beer + shot deal for $10 which is when the bartender surprises you with a shot of their choosing and then a surprise beer or seltzer in a brown paper bag. The food is also really good, I had the chicken tenders with fries and my husband got the grilled cheese and the portions were perfect both were very tasty. This bar also has games like Uno, Jenga, and Connect 4, and plenty of TVs to watch games. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

The view is still awesome here, they have a pretty sweet spot right on the corner. The service was way better this time, both the bartender and server were extremely friendly, helpful and kind. It definitely brightened my day. On this trip I tried the food. It was decent pub food, nothing I was overly enthusiastic about. The wings were just ok and the fried pickles are what I consider a 'fair' type of beer batter fry, think funnel cake-ish. Again, these were fine. Typical standard bar/pub food. I got ciders and tried some canned sweet tea thing that was advertised in the bathroom, they were standard. A much better experience this go around and I will be back, especially for that view. read more

I visited Kent Ale House to watch a college football game with friends last weekend and had a great time! I think we timed our visit just right, it was a beautiful November day in Brooklyn and we were able to take advantage of the outdoor seating area before it gets too cold. The staff was friendly and made sure to flip the channel for those who came in with a request for certain games. There were gluten free can options to choose from (including seltzers, and hard kombucha). We got the fries to split, which were great, and I also tried out their hot toddy which wasn't the best I've ever had but was a fun drink to enjoy on a crisp fall day. I'd recommend to anyone looking to catch a game, or enjoy drinks with friends. read more

Great selection of draft beer and ample seating available. Will definitely have to return

Typical sports bar. The food is decent but nothing out of this world. We sat in the back seating area- and I constantly had to find our waiter for water, drinks, food and finally to close out. Mind you it wasn't busy... So I probably would skip it if you have other options read more

Came here for my birthday yesterday and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They didn't mind that my group moved around from the bar area to the back and all around. Bailey the bartender was very accommodating and even helped get my Mets on a few of the TVs with sound. My lunch was good, we ordered a grilled cheese and fries and chicken tenders and fries and shared. Both were really tasty. They had games for my group to play like connect 4, jenga and cards against humanity. I just want to thank Bailey and the Kent Ale House team for making my birthday a memorable one! read more

We had our wedding after party at the Kent Ale House and can't recommend them enough! Clive was so helpful in securing a back room for us, had our platters of grilled cheese and burgers ready right away, and even played our preferred playlist so there was a seamless transition from the wedding to the after party. If you're getting married at the Wythe hotel or anywhere nearby, highly recommend Kent Ale House as a location to continue the festivities! read more

We'd just had brunch at Kokomo nearby and wanted to find a spot to hang out and have a drink. Kent Ale House wasn't open yet, but one of the cooks saw us standing around and let us in to warm up. He even got us some coffee! He wasn't able to serve us drinks, but the bartender was coming in shortly and she hooked us up. Even though it was chilly, I ordered a Jim Beam citrus highball: Jim Beam Original White Label Whiskey, Lemon Juice & Soda Water. It was refreshing and light, which was nice. The bartender gave us some recommendations for some other spots in the area - always appreciated! We had a nice time just chatting, watching the news, and enjoying a drink at Kent Ale House. I'd definitely come back for their full English breakfast! Seems like a really fun pub atmosphere, especially when football is on. read more

THANK YOU BAILEY. Our company had a huge trip to the brewery around the area. Afterwards we came here and bombarded it with more than 40 people. Great view of the city from the few available windows seats. Their Cajun Shrimp, Buffalo Chicken Mac-N-Cheese, and Sausage Roll were delish, and plenty for the two of us. Wings have always been good here. Vibe is great, lots of TVs, right on the water. Lack of stars has to do with the service. I'm not sure what was going on but the waitress was in another world. We tried to order the same drinks 4 times. She would come back and say "they didn't bring you the shots?" Every time.... 40+ min later and nothing. The other waiters were very apologetic but we never ended up getting the drinks and they were all on the bill lol. We had to let another waiter know and they adjusted the bill finally. But def a crappy experience in terms of service. read more

Randomly walked to this place since it had outdoor seating available on a Saturday late afternoon. Chill sports bar vibe with a bunch of people walking around the streets to nearby venues. Was able to pick a spot to settle and scanned the table for the menu. Not many options on draft as they used to have, but got a decent Pilsener ($8) to start. For food, split the Buffalo Cauliflower ($13) - a few pieces of breaded cauliflower served alongside ranch dressing and celery sticks. Basic tangy flavor and not overly breaded. Considering the price, wish there was more in the dish. Service here is fine, especially considering it's a sports bar. A good place to be if watching the game, as they even place a couple TV's outside. Would skip the food next time and just have the drinks. read more

2.5 stars. beers is cold and the vibes are good. food is not good at all. service is 6/10. beware of the "house made tater tots" - it's a ball of mushy hash browns. worth going for a drink - but skip the food. read more

This is the second time I've been here (food only), and while I'm sure there's great beer, I thought the experience left something to be desired. This time around I came with a good sized party on a loud Sunday night while they blasted the Mets game. It was very hard to hear anything. There's not a whole lot of healthy and/or vegan options on the menu so I went for the veggie burger and a salad (not beyond burger). It was pretty tasty, towering with a bunch of toppings and the thickest, densest veggie burger I've ever had that I couldn't tell you what it was made from. It felt super processed. The salad was pretty boring and I struggled to finish it. Service was okay but a little slow. With so many great places around, Kent is a bit bland for food but I understand most people are looking for their real deal--craft beer. read more

Iight so boom. Pulled up here with my homegirls after a drunken night at Bar Schimmi. We needed food and we needed it ASAP. So fair warning, we were drunk and everything tastes good when drunk but I swear the food was bomb. Seems like a typical sports bar, had all the football games going on all the TVs and the patrons were enjoying the game. BACK TO THE FOOD. I had the chicken sandwich and babyyyyyyy that joint was slapping! My homegirls had Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, buffalo wings, sliders & fries, sweet potato fries and the grilled cheese with fries. We closed DOWN. WITH leftovers. That silent eating when you know everyone's enjoying their food. In & out, I'm sure the drinks are great (we were drunk so we only had water) but good times. Came to watch some football and had some drinks and an appetizer. The hostess asked us what games we would like to watch upon entry which was great. At least 4 different games going on and the Bills on the main screen and there was a TV with a soccer game on as well. The drinks were good the Buffalo cauliflower bites were good and the service was good. Nothing extraordinary but everything was done properly. I would come back here for more games read more

There is outdoor side seating, a small enclosed patio in thé rear, an expansive front bar and lots of wide, flat screen télévisions for your viewing pleasure. This place earned one star for thé wonderfully, well spaced layout that never really seems cramped. Another star earned for the ample screens that display rugby and fútbol back to back. Another star for thé service which was courteous and efficient even amidst thé Northside festival swarm along with free drinks which led to extra exuberance. Bathrooms are efficient, food seems solid (athough all I did was sample some in passing), and thé views from this location could really set thé mood if you're in on a quiet evening. I would definitely return to try more of their offerings and to check out anything I missed. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. After walking nine miles and taking two trains to get to the Smorgasburg event in Brooklyn (I was so tired). We left the event quickly after arriving as the lines were ridiculous, it was insanely crowded and we were too hungry to wait. We walked some more and went into Kent Ale House. We were told that you seat yourself and so we did. Our server greeted a table that came in after us and then she greeted our table and got our drink orders. She certainly did her job as a waitress, however, she was strictly business. No pleasantries, just a "what do you need type" of attitude. We got our drinks quickly and ordered wings as an appetizer and I ordered the chicken sandwich. Our appetizers came out and about one minute later our entrees come out. Ideally, the waiter or waitress would try to time when they should put the entrees into the system, but clearly that was not done today. The wings were pretty good. But my chicken sandwich was...fire...delicious...bomb.com. We needed ketchup and my mom ended up having to go find someone for ketchup. Unfortunately for us, the service was a deficit, however, everything else was quite good. read more

The staff was amazing, quickly attended us and very nice. The bathroom was clean and the place was packed. We didn't have any drinks but the next best thing to love about a place is the food. One of the best spots in the city if you enjoy watching sports with excellent food and service. I've been patronizing joints in NYC my whole life and this place deserves your attention and worth a trip wherever you are coming from.
