I live about 4 streets down from the pub, so it's location couldn't be better when I want a quick drink. Closing at 4am every day is also a huge selling point. I typically get a shot and a beer, but the last time I went I ordered a Manhattan and a slushy. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of both drinks. Another selling point for the pub is the staff. The gentleman that made my drinks was personable and pleasant, while still respecting my space. No matter the time of day, the place is pretty dimly lit. There's adequate seating at the bar and around it, and outside space in the back. There's a pretty big selection of draft beers, and the bartenders were friendly. There was a DJ, and the music was incredibly loud, which made it difficult to hear one another. Came here as a send-off for a former colleague. The inside is nice and the staff is friendly and helpful. The drinks felt like they were well-made. The soda mixer was flat for two drinks but I'm sure it was just a machine glitch or something and it could have been an off night for that. The backyard patio area was cute and a great spot to chat with friends. It also felt safer to be in that setting than being inside. Safety aside- the air was perfect in the evening. Great bar. Chilled here on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the happy hour specials while killing time before a concert. I always stop by when I'm in the neighborhood. Pretty good beer selection but the coup de grace for me was the Moscow Mule. One of the best I ever had. Not service animal (dog) friendly. I walked in with my service animal and the man at the bar already made up his mind before I told him my dog was a service animal. I tried to show him validation of my animal because he did not want to take my word for it. Then he said I need a tag or vest, which I don't. And he continued to say you can get those online. I'm standing there trying to reason with him and he's saying the things he's requesting "anyone can get online". I'm very disappointed and when we walked out it was raining very hard. The man who gave me this difficulty was a guy with bald head with a monotone voice. Make sure if you go with your service animal you have a $15 vest from Amazon according to his standard. read more

Whoever runs this place just seems really out of touch. From the "off the hook!" signage to the weird "backyard is open" sign, and the poorly designed menus. Solid beer selection, great staff, but hovering management loses a star too. Literally just left this place an hour ago. We rolled in 50 deep at 2am on a Sunday morning following a house party, and the owner/manager/old dude with an attitude comes up to everyone in our group - many of whom had already ordered drinks - and tells us we have to order or get out. Mind you, we had entered the bar no more than 10 minutes earlier. Dude, we're taking up literally your entire bar in a neighborhood bar that nobody other than locals ever goes to. Nobody from outside the neighborhood is traveling to BedStuy/Crown Heights to go to your bar. And, even if not every single person was drinking, you still had a full bar because of us and, if anything, that would bring more people in when they walk by and see a shit ton of people in the place. What you don't do is throw people out for not ordering drinks. There are people who can't drink for medical or religious reasons, and people like myself who are driving and being responsible. You just don't do that if you want repeat customers, and you definitely don't do that to a large group. Actually, you don't do that. Full stop. I could MAYBE understand if it were happy hour and I walked in solo or with a date or something, and we were just taking up seats that you needed for paying customers, but that's not even close to being the case here. It was 2am on a Sunday morning and the number of people in the bar more than doubled when we walked in. But what did you do? You threw out people who were with a large group, having a good time, who probably would have ordered SOMETHING if not for your piss-poor attitude. I won't be coming back, even if I'm in the neighborhood. I'm 30 years old and have NEVER been asked to leave a bar because I didn't have a drink in my hand. Solo. with a date or otherwise. And definitely not with a large group. Take your head out of your ass and learn how to treat people. You obviously have no business acumen if you think you can approach people who MIGHT spend money that way and expect them to still want to buy what you're selling. You suck. Period. read more

Fantastic space, excellent bartenders, totally love the vibe. Went on a weekday night, really liked the crowd. They allow outside food, which considering what's nearby is a good call. Great happy hour ($2 off drafts 5-7) but prices are a bit high otherwise. Good place to go with friends, or alone during the day. Very esoteric draft list, seem to go with fantastic names from little known breweries, so the overall quality is a bit mixed as a result. read more

She just ignored us. Then she said she will be with us soon. Then went off to serve three more groups who'd arrived after us. So we went to king tai instead, which is fine but doesn't have a yard. Here's the deal: You're a bar that doesn't sell food, you include tax in your quoted prices. You tell me a drink is $x, I shouldn't be paying $x + tax on a drink if I pay by cc, but only $x if I pay by cash. If I question the practice, you don't assume I'm an idiot and say "I'm just paying my taxes and most bars don't pay their taxes." You tell the truth and say, I'm pricing everything in my bar according to my markup and what I have to pay in tax, and I'm effectively adding a surcharge for credit card use without telling you beforehand you'll be paying that. Be cash only if you don't like taking cc's, or tell your customers you're adding a fee equal to NYC sales tax (far greater than the normal 2 or 3 percent surcharges) before you pour their drink and let them decide whether they think it's worth it. read more

Meet up with my dad here for drinks. Its a cozy new bar on Nostrand with a great tap selection ample seating for the size of the bar and a nice quiet patio in the back. Since it was a nice day, we were out in the back drinking Ommegang Cooperstown Ale. It's a limited run summer ale by the geniuses at Ommegang. It was actually the perfect beer for a father and son talking about baseball, life in NY and summer. Happy hour runs til 8pm and the beers are still reasonably priced after that. The bar has no food other than pretzels but its ok to bring in your own or order in. All in all, a great chill beer bar in Crown Heights. read more

I popped in here for some low-key drinks with a friend on a Friday night. Unfortunately, it was raining and we didn't get to check out the outdoor area. However, they do have one and it seemed pretty spacious. The beer selection was pretty solid AND they had Heady Topper from Alchemist brewery. The bartender told us that only three bars in the city carry it and my friend who lives near Alchemist (VT) was surprised to hear we found it. Good beer selection, but one of the bartenders is extremely rude. I'm not sure if she was having an extra bad day, but she made my first and only experience there extremely unpleasant. She placed the wrong drink in front of me, I took a sip and realized it was not what I ordered, and when she asked if I took a sip and said yes, she snapped, "Goddammit," snatched it away from me, and dumped it out. This place is my 2nd living room. The love affair started 3 years ago when I was in school, and would spend my time with my nose in my computer, plugging away on homework (there are power outlets in the front of the house) for hours while I guzzle down a beer from the amazingly large selection, or imbibe with some delicious whisky. The alcohol menu is expansive, but this is definitely a beer focused joint. There is no food, albeit free bar snacks, but they have a book of menus you can ask for and order anything for delivery. The patio outside, open seasonally, is large and amazing to hangout in during summer months. It's currently decorated with birds and butterflies of the domestic and tropical varieties. Bartenders, owners, and the patrons are really friendly and always chatting up newcomers to the neighborhood. This place is definitely a neighborhood staple, and must see when in the area! read more

Classic Cleveland Browns bar! If you're a Baker Mayfield fan ask for Jackie, she's your bartender. Just don't bring up the Patriots, Jackie hates them so much it's scary. She knows, just like the rest of us, the patriots suck and should be stripped of all previous super bowl wins. That being said, it's hard to hear Jackie rage against Tom Brady with that much vitriol. The rest of the staff is extremely professional and won't base their job on their feelings about Tom Brady. I love the gin and soda! read more

She's been a great bartender and one of the main reasons we chose to make this spot a weekly location for us (literally there on Thursdays as it's nice and quiet during happy hour). Great vibes. Cool, comfy vibe inside. Wood benches, a few tables. Good use of small space. Plus, it has a quite large outdoor area out back with a half dozen picnic tables, which is pretty sweet. This bar is pretty awesome, especially if you live on Nostrand Avenue in Crown Heights. I've met Mitch, the owner, as well, and he's a down-to-earth guy who seems to really love the neighborhood. Super friendly, neighborhood place. Free pretzels! They have a very comfortable backyard area which feels just right for a day drinking session. They have more than one bathroom, and so far (this place is still pretty new) they're very clean. This bar is much less of a hipster haunt than some of the other bars nearby, which is so refreshing. The decor is thoughtful with all the charming, vintage beer brand lighting, rusty spittoons and heavy wooden benches you expect in a Brooklyn pub these days. I did notice that the bright, high-ceiling interior echoed an awful lot, which made it challenging to carry a conversation over the constant and incredibly loud laugh of a fellow patron. But that's just my bad luck, I suppose. So happy this place has opened a few blocks from me! I shall return. read more

This place rocks. We came in on a Sunday afternoon for some drinks - they made me a sazerac, but there's also a good selection of beers on draught. The vibe here is perfect - there's a smaller back room made of wood, with a little fire place and these really unique floating tables. It's so comfortable. They played great music and the back room also has a pair of good speakers, and one wall is all these old vintage speakers (not in use but still a really cool way to place them). This room makes it intimate if there aren't any people around, but it can also get kind of noisy back there as well. Pretty good prices ($10 for cocktails and around $7-8 for beers). This is the sweetest surprise in the area. The bar has a good selection and a very welcoming atmosphere. It's super laid back and chill. Not a lot of the locals come here though, it mostly comes off as a hipster bar. Yet you can find so many different people while hanging out there. The bartenders are really nice too! Great neighborhood bar. It's a casual spot that has great outdoor seating for the warmer months. The crowd is usually pretty cool too.
