Uncle Barry's is a place to go if you want to feel comfortable, just like any loving uncle's house would be. Came here on a date and I think we were both impressed how awesome this bar is. Has a very warm and inviting feeling with an amazing bar. Lots of top shelf liquor, beer specials and ciders. The bar side itself is pretty big and has comfortable bar chairs. For an early Friday night, not a bad place to start your pregame on. Location is great and not to far from major trains location and restaurants. I had the hot cider with rum- delicious and full of great flavor. My date had the beer (which I don't remember the name) but also enjoyed it. Will be coming back. It's a great spot in a great neighborhood.

Grabbed after work drinks at Uncle Barry's on Friday evening. A decent spot to have a cheap strong drink, and convenient if going to Barclays. Quality: Uncle Barry's is a solid dive bar. They have a sizable beer list, with twelve beers on tap and another dozen or so available in bottles and cans. I also appreciate that they offer Flights in case you just can't choose. They have a couple of wines, then a full bar with some house cocktails written out. During our visit I tried the Gingervitus, with cucumber, vodka, pimms, lime, ginger syrup, and soda, a Kentucky Mule, and a Mezcal Frozen Margarita. They were all fine and quite strong, but after seeing them pour the mezcal before the frozen mix, which left the drink an unmixed mess, it was even more clear this is definitely a beer spot. Quantity: They serve up some stiff cocktails. Value: $10 for the House Cocktails. $12 for the Mezcal Frozen Margarita. Ambiance: Uncle Barry's is located along 5th Ave in Park Slope, very close to Barclays. It has the feel of a place that gets packed before and after games and concerts. They had a small outdoor setup in front of the bar, but on a rainy Friday most folks congregated inside. They have a long bar on the right wall with plenty of stools and then high-tops surrounding it. There was also a small private area in the back that had a dart board. A television hung at each end of the bar, both playing basketball highlights, and the walls were covered with a random assortment of things, from old kung fu posters to subway maps. Crowd: A small crowd for Friday happy hour. There were a few folks who looked like they had been there since the bar opened and a slow flow of customers coming from work. Service: Very friendly and funny bartenders. This is a bar with a good amount of regulars, so it was great to witness the banter with the staff. Parking: Limited street parking in the area.

First time here. I love dive bars, the bartender was obnoxious. But it was a neat place.

I chose this place because I had visited a few times in the past and expected a positive environment. While there, I ran into an old friend who was accompanying individuals with special needs. They informed us about the R&B karaoke event, and we attempted to participate respectfully and supportively. Unfortunately, after participating, the DJ became rude and dismissive. My friends decided not to continue because each time they attempted to request a song, the DJ was unkind and impatient, seemingly unaware--or unconcerned--that they were individuals with special needs. The situation escalated when I attempted to calmly address the disrespect. Instead of listening, the bartender repeatedly accused me of being drunk simply because I was defending myself after a rude comment. I was not intoxicated; I was advocating for respectful treatment. Even the DJ's own companion appeared visibly shocked by the comment made toward me, as if anticipating a reaction. I remained composed and professional despite being deeply upset. What disappointed me most was the staff's decision to defend the DJ's behavior rather than acknowledge how inappropriate and disrespectful the interaction was. This reflects poorly on how this establishment treats people--especially those who deserve patience, understanding, and dignity. I came expecting an enjoyable brunch experience and left feeling ashamed for having trusted this place. It is clear that the venue prioritizes protecting mediocre DJs with minimal local popularity over treating customers with basic respect. Poor organization, lack of proper event management, and unprofessional staff behavior made this experience unacceptable. I have visited many establishments and have never felt so disrespected. I will not be returning.

In general, I like the mellow / peaceful vibes of outer borough NYC Irish pubs at lunchtime. McMahon's did not disappoint. Solid buffalo chicken wings & good burger. I am also post fries (I will try one or two of yours, but I don't need an order of fries for myself.), so can't comment on the fries. They also make a mean Caesar salad. The Caesar & buffalo wings are pretty much my metric for all Irish pubs. McMahon's would def be in the upper 50th percentile. There are a bunch of negative reviews for this spot on here for when they are very busy, on Barclays Center game nights and / or weekends. I feel like, if you read between the lines, it's people coming in groups when it's busy acting entitled. The staff at lunch has been nothing but courteous, w/ excellent service. Also, very clean inside, & food was good quality / fresh ingredients. There are almost no Irish pubs in this area open for lunch anymore at all - thank goodness this is a good one!
