Moot opened before I left Brooklyn, with in walking distance for my apartment but the 1st time I went in was on my last visit to NYC. Some call him Chaz but he's Chuck to me. The best Bartender in BKLYN! Located in Clinton Hill Brooklyn on Myrtle Avenue -- if you're old school Brooklynite -- the neighborhood has changed. They are known for their hot dogs but I've never had one. It's a bar. Full glass window fronted. Long bar. A few tables. I sat and had a rum punch a la Chuck. So good I could've spent all day there. It's more of a beer and cocktail joint so wine was not an option for me. It's a new neighborhood bar (not an old man to be found at the bar). Very friendly vibe. Tons of sports enthusiasts. There's always a sport on -- soccer, football, baseball. It's a great place to grab a drink and defend your team. read more

Along with elevensies, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper, I doubt Aragorn knew about Tuesday hot dog night at Moot, and that is absolutely his loss. Also I bet if the Fellowship talked to Chaz, things might have gone down a bit better and definitely more efficiently.  WIthout fail, Moot is the grown-up version of the favorite childhood place that always put you at ease and made you happy. Even every other night of the week, Moot is the place to cozy up with a pint of beer and glass of whisky. One can watch the TV, play darts, or partake in the best of pastimes, people-watching through the front windows (specifically the corner windows).  But, on the most magical of nights (this would be the second night of the week, the etymology of which is interesting, related to the Norse god Týr, who was said to have his arm bitten off by Fenrir, the gigantic wolf that the Hulk threw down with, and nuts, this should've been a footnote) there are hot dogs aplenty and it is the best. That's it, it's just the best. No matter what kind of day you've had, no matter how good or how bad you've had it, cold beer and/or whisky with a hot dog brightens everything.  It is the best of the best, and Moot should be landmarked and doubly blessed so every Tuesday can be so perfect. Moot Bar - Mustafa - Pubs Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Moot Bar is awesome. It's from the same guys behind Uncle Barry, which is one of my favorite neighborhood bars. Moot follows the same business model - beers, cocktails and trivia. Uncle Barry has better beer selection, but Moot has great cocktails. If Chaz is working the bar, ask him to whip you up something special. He made me a Sriracha, mezcal and St. Germain drink which was delicious. I put him on the spot, and it's now called the Hot Cock. So order a Hot Cock. They also have a lot of standard cocktails, and I had a Sazarac variation that was good. He also made me their most popular drink, Rosemary's 2nd Baby, a whiskey drink which of course, had rosemary in it. Also very good. The space is cool. There's a dartboard by the door, a wide bar, and some table seating as well. Great place to have a low-key drink, or to get blacked out on a Thursday night and call in sick the next day. What's the most important thing in a bar? The bartender. With that being said you can't go wrong anytime of day, any day of the week. Every single one that I've had the pleasure of being served by has made my experience here better, simply by being behind that bar. And that is whether it is Allie, Chaz or Stephanie. But enough about the people giving you your drinks, how about what actually gets into those cups? The selection is ever expanding. The prices are affordable. If you want it they probably have it. And they add new additions here and there. You can buy bar snacks, which are also cheap or bring in food from outside. The bar itself gives out free food depending on the night. They also have free WiFi and this is the kind of bar you will see people reading a book whilst sipping a beer. The neighborhood itself is great, very chill. Bring a friend or a group, but this isn't the biggest space at the same time. There is trivia once a night. Also this is a great place to watch football, especially if you are a Packers fan. read more

Been here a few times for the happy hour deal on Tuesdays. Two dollars off drafts, free hotdogs, and they open at 1pm, what more can you ask for? The bartender is really sweet and remembered my order from my previous visit. We also had some good chats about whiskey, and she knows a lot despite how young she looks (maybe she is older than she looks?). Also, if you like Bourbon they have a decent selection. I always make my friends go to this spot, even some that live in Manhattan for Wednesday night trivia. It's really quirky and fun. But there's lots to like about this neighborhood spot overall. The decor is really relaxed and inviting; all the bartenders are great, especially Allie, Chaz and Stephanie; they have a great cocktail list (I love their margs); they have enough tv screens so that you can hang out and watch sports (or recently, the debates!) without it really feeling like a "sports bar." I discovered Moot Bar quite by accident, and my only complaint is that I hadn't stumbled upon it sooner. The space itself has a unique feel that sets it apart from the surrounding bars, and the bartenders themselves are usually friendly and always interesting. As if this wasn't enough, the bartender on Tuesdays seems to manifest hot dogs from thin air, and feeds them to you for free with the purchase of every drink. The prices are good for the neighborhood, and on certain nights the entire bar comes alive with communal laughter and a sense of camaraderie rarely found in the painfully hip bars of Brooklyn. If in the area, definitely stop in and have a couple of drinks, and maybe a magical hotdog for good measure. read more

Not really a fan of this place. Came here when it first opened and they had TVs and it was during the Golden Globes. They didn't put it on after asking, and not to mention the bartender's attitude was pretty rude. This place is small and looooooud... Why do I have to shout in an empty bar to talk to my friend? Whenever I'm in Clinton Hill I swing by here for a beer or two. It's a little divey, but in the good way. It's got charm and personality, and is low-brow. The same can be said for the bartenders. Went over to Moot Bar on a quiet Tuesday night and really enjoyed the space. It is a pretty intimate bar, with some open space near the front and a long wooden bar running along the left wall.
