Run punch a la Chuck
Debbie P.

Moot opened before I left Brooklyn, with in walking distance for my apartment but the 1st time I went in was on my last visit to NYC. Some call him Chaz but he's Chuck to me. The best Bartender in BKLYN! Located in Clinton Hill Brooklyn on Myrtle Avenue -- if you're old school Brooklynite -- the neighborhood has changed. They are known for their hot dogs but I've never had one. It's a bar. Full glass window fronted. Long bar. A few tables. I sat and had a rum punch a la Chuck. So good I could've spent all day there. It's more of a beer and cocktail joint so wine was not an option for me. It's a new neighborhood bar (not an old man to be found at the bar). Very friendly vibe. Tons of sports enthusiasts. There's always a sport on -- soccer, football, baseball. It's a great place to grab a drink and defend your team.

This is a place where grown knows grown. Calm, cool, chill. Great humans.. I feel that I'm in the south again. People matter. Thanks Moot!

Went there last night with a friend and had the best time. Chaz has the best playlist and he interacts with everyone at the bar. Friendly vibe. Great location. Can not wait to go back.

Moot Bar is awesome. It's from the same guys behind Uncle Barry, which is one of my favorite neighborhood bars. Moot follows the same business model - beers, cocktails and trivia. Uncle Barry has better beer selection, but Moot has great cocktails. If Chaz is working the bar, ask him to whip you up something special. He made me a Sriracha, mezcal and St. Germain drink which was delicious. I put him on the spot, and it's now called the Hot Cock. So order a Hot Cock. They also have a lot of standard cocktails, and I had a Sazarac variation that was good. He also made me their most popular drink, Rosemary's 2nd Baby, a whiskey drink which of course, had rosemary in it. Also very good. The space is cool. There's a dartboard by the door, a wide bar, and some table seating as well. Great place to have a low-key drink, or to get blacked out on a Thursday night and call in sick the next day. Not that I would do anything like that...

Stumbled upon this place when Brooklyn Tap House was filled to capacity, and I'm glad I did. It's a great spot.

Also I bet if the Fellowship talked to Chaz, things might have gone down a bit better and definitely more efficiently.

They had a bunch of collabs with other breweries so their taps were filled with wonderful selection of cool beers. I got here when it opened grabbed a seat at the bar. I didn't catch her name but the bartender was super nice and we chatted a bit. This bar has two tvs in the bar area and some tables in the back. It also has an outdoor area which I did not get to check out unfortunately. The only downside is, is that there is no food served here. But the upside is that you can get free Pop-corn! If you have not been here before, I would suggest stopping by. By the way whoever does their social media is super great!

But the reason I keep coming back - the sheer selection of incredible and unique beers (and reasonably priced for that manner!). Everything from the desthil spicy sour pickle beer to many variations to le chouffe, you can't go wrong! Oh and they have free popcorn as well... tough to pass up! Service has always been friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. I can already see myself back there for the next time I'm craving some delicious craft beer!

The energy was more mature which I preferred in a sports bar. Tons of benches, some bar seating and pool tables in the back. Lots of tvs as well, saw all the March Madness games playing. I imagine it would be great for big games. That being said I came to pregame Knicks-Nets and as we got closer to start-time a lot fans came to watch game (very easy walk to Barclays- 10 min walk). The food was solid and service was pretty good. Good beer options, had the happy hour margarita. They are strong! You've been warned.

We were debating between regular wings or smoked and best decision of the night was picking the smoked wings. It was crisp and not too saucy, keeping the wings as the key. Both the steak sandwich and burger were very good and well priced. I wish the burger was bigger though. Service: 5/5 There was only one waitress and one bartender at the time, but service was very quick. We did not have to wait for anything. Ambiance: 5/5 We were looking for a sports bar to eat at before going to the Nets game. Fulton Hall is only few minutes walk from Barclays. It was not crowded at all and was perfect to relax and grab a bite before going to the game.

The venue is pretty spacious they have a back dining area, a big bar when you enter and a full bar upstairs. There's a ton of televisions if you are watching sports as well. They have a pretty deep beer menu which I loved. The food menu is Irish influenced bar bites. We had the wings which were nice and crispy. The center of attention was the waffle fries nachos. You can't go wrong with a potato vehicle to fresh toppings. All and all great fun spot for sports and gatherings. Also this is a melting pot. Various ages, groups, backgrounds, saw a few families. All are welcome. One flaw is St. Patty it appeared that our waiter who was superb was the only one working so it was a bit of chase to close out.

In general, I like the mellow / peaceful vibes of outer borough NYC Irish pubs at lunchtime. McMahon's did not disappoint. Solid buffalo chicken wings & good burger. I am also post fries (I will try one or two of yours, but I don't need an order of fries for myself.), so can't comment on the fries. They also make a mean Caesar salad. The Caesar & buffalo wings are pretty much my metric for all Irish pubs. McMahon's would def be in the upper 50th percentile. There are a bunch of negative reviews for this spot on here for when they are very busy, on Barclays Center game nights and / or weekends. I feel like, if you read between the lines, it's people coming in groups when it's busy acting entitled. The staff at lunch has been nothing but courteous, w/ excellent service. Also, very clean inside, & food was good quality / fresh ingredients. There are almost no Irish pubs in this area open for lunch anymore at all - thank goodness this is a good one!
