I'm so grateful that places like Finn's still exist in our city. Listen, I get that some folks like the nicer things in life. To be honest, there are certain categories that I absolutely prefer to be upscaled too (e.g. nicer seats on a plane, better location in any city I am staying in...etc etc). That said, when it comes to bars...well I just don't get it I guess. Give me a regular bar that plays good music and serves cheap drinks during happy hour instead of a pricy "fancy" bar or lounge any day of the week. Have I been accused of loving dive bars more than once? Yes, but why wouldn't I? I always find people to be more fun in places that are more relaxed than upscale. Anyway, Finn's isn't a dive bar per se, but it is a local bar that has a pretty solid happy hour game. They also happen to serve hotdogs at a cheap price which absolutely makes it feel a bit more divey....but when you are too busy at work to eat lunch and don't want to get hammered off one beer they sure do come in handy. They also have a backyard that's great for summertime and birthday parties. If you're looking for a regular bar in Prospect Heights, you should think of Finn's. read more

This place is all good when you want to get drunk on a patio and get up every so often to check the game. Here for the last bit of summer and was searching out the empanadas and umm sports and drinks :-) First night there was a little rain, we crossed by and saw that some were eating outside with umbrellas open. That must be a super loyal patron - but as we were just visiting we kept moving. But when the sun was blazing and we saw a chalk sign advertising frozen drinks - we were all over that place. The ambiance is perfect for a drink after work. It's very lively and has plenty of space for sitting! I love the happy hour deals for wine. It makes me so happy that rose is on the happy hour list! And that is what I always get. If I am not mistaken, all the wines on the list are $5. Again, I believe that there is a white and red wine available. I don't remember because the minute I saw the word rose, I was like yup. That's for me! Just two of those bad boys are enough for me to feel it. Lol. The bartender that is always there on Fridays is quick with getting our drinks and accommodating to myself and co-workers who go here. I don't really care for the food here. I watched Game 6 of the NBA Finals here and it was a really fun crowd. I posted on Reddit hours before the game wondering where I could find a sports bar with a Bay Area Warrior's presence and everyone had recommended Plug Uglies. This was way too far for me since I was staying in Brooklyn, so I was pretty excited to have stumbled upon Finn's Corner. Like any sports bar during a big game day, the bar gets incredibly busy. If you're COVID conscience, you'll definitely want to pass on this bar as patrons are packed like sardines inside. Tread carefully with your drinks and respect others to make sure nobody spills their drink all over the floor. Standing room only unless you get here 1.5 hours before game time. Keep in mind the outdoor TVs do not have audio so step inside if you want to hear the broadcast. There are plenty of TVs inside so there isn't really a bad view anywhere. If you're looking for a huge selection of craft beers, you'll be sorely disappointed -- you won't find it here. The drink menu here is pretty consistent with what you'll find at other sport bars and dive bars. The staff behind the counter works quickly, but you'll need to fight aggressively to make sure they see you at the bar in order to place your order. I've always been going past this bar for some time and the other day was my first time there, with my home girl. The bartender was friendly I will say, and they had games on, but I personally felt a little odd, seems like the bar was a time warp. The other patrons just seemed like from a different era, maybe because I'm not a regular. Great drink selection, good prices too. The big plus is that you can watch sports events there. And they have a beautiful mural of sports figures from NYC. Seems like a good number of people like the bar, which is good, but us and the bar didn't click . I got the impression and thought That I was in Dyker Heights, Bay Ridge, of Bensonhurst, not Prospect Heights . AMI Jukebox is a plus too. Can play some of your own good music. read more

Jennifer, a rocker who throws a mean game of darts, who will be working Sundays. Joanne, who made me a Bloody Mary as my dad, Joe the Bartender, would have done. Tracy, who is my counsel. My husband and I try to hit Finn's every other weekend, it's become the bar we frequent most in our neighborhood for many a good reason. Personally, I love the rotation of food vendors here and the drink combos. It's really sweet to have the option to grab grub when the idea of "only having one drink" turns into more (because their hot toddy's are so darn good) and you need sustenance. Finn's used to offer grilled cheese, nachos and the like.... their current food vendor offers a variety of empanadas - all have been yummy. If you're undecided in what to drink, the specials board/combo offerings always helps. The Happy Meal is fun and cheap (house beer, shot and house jerky for $12). Finn's staff is super friendly and accommodating (Cisco is the man, and I always forget to ask the bartender with the very short hair her name, but she's a doll). The booths are comfy and welcoming and I love the bathrooms adorned with vintage rolling stone cover wallpaper and red lighting. read more

So my best friend and I googled "bars with pool tables" and according to our location, we stumbled on to Finns corner. First I want to say ORDER KIMS BAKED CHICKEN. It's delicious. We even got to meet Kim. She took our order and she's just the cutest. We ordered Kim's baked chicken wings and the hand cut baked Potato wedges. The wings were TO DIE FOR. The wedges ... were undercooked and nasty. That's the only thing that made me rate it as I did. Customer service was A+, atmosphere A+ and hey we got free shots!! Only thing is we wanted to order food and the bartender said we could not put it on the bar tab. This is a great place to watch a game. If it's a big game (or football Sunday) come early to get a table. I thoroughly enjoyed the Baby Bella Sliders. Change isn't good or bad, it just is. One of my favorite neighborhood bars left and has changed. Out with old (Saint Catherine) in with the new, Finn's Corner. While I will miss the great brunch, and alternative option for cocktails if Bearded Lady is packed, I do love the new spot. Ever since 706 closed, Washington Avenue has sorely missed a sports bar that primarily focuses on beer, liquor, and of course sports. The spot boasts a nice panoramic view of the corner at Washington and Bergen. A nice modern finish. And lots of flatscreens! There's also darts and pool for those who have the games put them in the competitive spirit. The staff is very friendly. They are polite, will chat, and know what they are doing behind the bar. The prices are solid, especially compared to other bars around. There's lots of seating so no reason to fret. The place is pretty new so hopefully things just get better. I'm curious to see what will happen with food. If they'll let people bring in food? And is that back gonna open? Who knows? I do know though this is a great no gimmicks bar in the neighborhood, worth catching the next game at. read more

This place was far from the subway (2,3 or B) but was worth it! Great happy hour. The bar brand beer was actually really good and only $3-$4 during happy hour! Would definitely come back here.
