tried and true neighborhood staple I've been to many times, but them allowing dogs inside is a problem. Was bitten the other day by a couple's dog (luckily not hurt) that was under a table and possibly startled by me passing by to grab a drink. It isn't legal to have dogs inside of bars and restaurants unless its a service animal. Also the owner is so inebriated most of the time while serving, not even paying attention to stuff like that. I just moved in the neighborhood and Fiona's is just bustling all the time! I went in to have a cocktail and some food and I can tell why it's so good. They're affordable and the food is hangover friendly! It'll soak up everything you need to soak up and it leaves you so satisfied since the subs are SO filling. We ordered the magic hour, dark and stormy, and gold rush. All of them were super on par with a more expensive bar and I will be back for another drink! Came here after hanging out in Prospect Park on a Sunday evening. This is a quaint bar with great drinks and a nice atmosphere. The place gave nature vibes as it had a tree in the middle of the bar. There's mostly wooden chairs/tables but we managed to grab a seat at the comfy couches. Service is great and people are friendly. Highly recommended to check this place out after eating and hanging around smorgasburg. read more

Bartender made me a drink that tasted so bad I complained to which he responded "only a r*tard would order a rhubarb drink off the menu and expect it to taste good." Went here on Friday Aug 29th and ordered the rhubarb vanilla daiquiri. The bartender took the order and forgot and came back 15 minutes later to ask what we got. The drink tasted like battery acid, so bad that I complained. He was definitely drunk and responded with the above quote. We told him that it wasn't cool to use that verbiage. He said he wouldn't charge us but we already paid the bill. Guy next to us gave me a list of bar recs in the area so we would never have to go back again. Sucks because I liked this bar a lot and just moved to the area but there's plenty of bars in the sea. read more

After a productively long double work day, all I wanted was a well crafted cocktail. I walked into Fiona's and to my surprise it felt like a cozy urban cottage (use your imagination orrr you'll just have to see it for yourself). I ordered the bar special which was a spiked cider with bourbon. The cup was so warm I used it to warm my hands, mind you it's 35 degrees outside so a warm drink is actually necessary. I sipped slow because it was piping hot, but once I tasted all the flavors together I was hooked. This was the easiest warm drink I've had the pleasure of enjoying. One was enough for me! I got up from the bar an hour or so later with the soft fun spins in my body. Bar highlight: There's a beautiful dimly lit tree in the middle of the bar, it's soooo cute. I sat right by it just to feel like I was sort of 'drinking under a tree'. The other drinks sounded really good too, so I'll just have to come back and try them. Service was top notch here!! I came here for the Tastes of Brooklyn event. This bar has so much airy space and a small amount of seating outside. This bar is laidback and chill. A perfect place to wind down. Meet with friends, and drink. They allowed us to eat food from somewhere else. Fiona's makes the best queso dip I ever had in my life. They even gave us a sample of their famous Peacock drink which is served in a fancy cup. It was sweet and strong. I'll definitely come back to try more drinks. Adrianne was so welcoming and pleasant. Super cute little bar on Flatbush Ave. I've always walked by and thought the vibes were great. Finally came here with a friend, and we had a great time! There's so many different types of seating. They have this super cool tree going through the middle of the bar, and there's seating around the trunk. It makes for a nice little spot for two people. I ended up sitting at the open bar area that faces the sidewalk. If you enjoy people watching, I would definitely encourage you to sit there! The drinks are very reasonably priced, and yummy! We got a couple rounds of their sorrel/prosecco drink. It was absolutely gorgeous in color, and so delicious. I love that they use the sorrel from Hibiscus Brew, which is right next door. Two amazing businesses teaming up together to create something wonderful. I'll definitely be back soon! read more

Charming local bar, with quality ambiance and just the right amount of everything you could want, product-wise. Small but quality (and local) draft list (I had an Alewife beer, also had Five Boroughs and Other Half on tap) and a pretty solid wine options (my date enjoyed her Malbec). Food list was similarly small but quality, and exactly what you'd want from a small and low-key bar such as this (cheese and charcuterie, hummus and veggies, etc). Kitchen was open pretty late (I believe open until 11pm). And they also have some heartier options such as sandwiches. Service was laid back and cool. The bartender was great, able to provide recs on drafts and wine, as well as turning out a quality gin martini. There's little better than a bar where you just feel at home the second you walk in, and that would perfectly describe this spot--just a love, cozy, fun bar experience. Seems like a great setting for a casual date or for hanging with friends. Wish it wasn't all the way across Prospect Park from me! read more

It's very funny to me that this place markets itself as the "long-awaited Love Child of 3 local bar-owners/managers/bartenders/appreciators," because I don't think I've been in another bar in NYC that has such slow service. If this place actually is run by industry veterans, you would think the service would be good. I have to practically make a scene to get someone to take my drink order, even when the place is half empty. It's a nice place otherwise--the decor is cute, the prices are reasonable, but the service could use some improvement. read more

BLACK CUSTOMERS BEWARE: Unfortunately, while this is a charming bar the bartender Lalo (not sure if that's the right spelling) on September 22 around 12:40 AM was completely unprofessional. I walked in and saw a table that needed to be cleared and I asked him if someone could clean it. He then asked me to bring the cups to him which is basically clearing the table and I responded I do not work here so why would I clean a table? When we ordered drinks I instructed him to leave my tab open but he still charged me. Once I went to collect my card he said I closed out...I asked for my card and he continued to say I closed out. I insisted he check again and then he finally gave me my card back AND tried to charge me again!! And give himself a tip??? I can't help but think this energy was targeted because we were Black because I don't understand why he was acting like this towards us while he had no problem serving the non Black customers. He didn't want to serve us and tried to charge me twice which, as a person who has worked in the service industry, implies you didn't trust that we were going to pay so he wanted to get his "money" upfront. This place is such an amazing addition to the neighborhood! I've been watching the construction on this place for a while now, and I was stoked to discover that they officially opened. I went in last night by myself to check the place out, and I was extremely pleasantly surprised. The interior is almost like a treehouse type of vibe. The atmosphere is super laid back with one of the owners walking around engaging everyone in conversation and making sure drinks are full. The drinks are really well priced, and they have local domestic beers on tap. Their cocktails are a bit pricey, but well worth it because they are crazy strong. I had 2 Magic Hours, which are a vodka based cocktail, and I was feeling fantastic! They have small plates available to snack on, and they know how to make a proper hummus plate. They also make their own hummus there, and it is amazing. I didn't finish all of it (it's a large portion), so Adrienne, one of the owners, wrapped it up all nice for me to bring home. I'm looking forward to eating more of it over the weekend from the comfort of my home! I definitely want to make this place part of my regular hang out spots, and you should, too! read more

I walked into Fiona's Bar, not seeing anyone there to seat you so seated myself. Then to order drinks realized that had to be done at the bar but... there was a line. I was a bit horrified given there was just one bartender who also seemed to be the bus person, waitress and hostess. I should have mentioned earlier that I was hesitant to even seat myself because tables were not bussed and full of finished drinks. I decided to bus the tables and wait to order drinks. To my surprise that bartender was a superhero. She took down each patron's order calmly, worked her magic and kept repeating. When she took our order and things calmed a bit, she walked the bar (which was full) and would cheerfully talk. I was amazed. We were there for two rounds and someone else eventually came in to help out. Our drinks were great and the platter of cheese and meat was a fair selection. There's a tree in the middle, but I wish they'd add more branches or something to the ceiling, as it feels a bit out of place. Cocktails aren't cheap but also aren't insanely priced. The second Tuesday of every month is drag Karaoke with the amazing @veronicaconstantlay which has created a beautiful Mid-week tradition. Went to see Morrissey in Nov 2022 at the Kings Theater next door and headed into Fiona's after the show. It was SO much fun, as they played Morrissey and The Smiths songs until closing! Everyone was drinking, singing along and having fun. Reasonably priced drinks too, just a little hard for women to get the bartenders attention. Would definitely be back if I see another show at Kings. It was like the concert extended for another few hours! read more

Dope bar. Roast beef sandwich is fire. The horseradish is such a great touch. They Host great events and provide a sense of community when there. Update: most bartenders are fantastic. Adrianne (spelling may be incorrect) is awesome and so lovely. Love when she is around. However there is another pencil thin, glasses wearing bartender who can't seem to keep up. She starts her shift and immediately gets flustered. It took us 15 mins to get her attention, and another 15 to get her to close us out. It's always an, 'ILL BE RIGHT WITH YOU' then serve someone else. Maybe if she took less time worrying about what song she wants to play and sing along to, she'd be able to focus on her customers and tasks at hand. Saturday night, crowded and only one bartender behind the bar. I felt bad for him being understaffed but the bartender served three people that arrived after us, before me. I was trying to wave his attention at times. He finally gets to me and the first thing he says to me, yelling, is "Woman, you need to calm down." ... I'm a bartender too and I know how it is to be understaffed but that's not the way to talk to customers... made me feel like shit and I won't be going back again or recommending. Too bad. I've been here three times and as of now this place has been open for about three to four months, just to preface. This place is always packed, so I always thought there must be something legitimately appealing about it, but each time I've been I couldn't figure out what that was. The drinks are bad or boring (the Sunday bartender gave me the worst "negroni" I've ever had, it was also garnished wrong), service can often be slow due to the crowds, and their clientele is, quite frankly, awful. The first time I went there was a guy hitting on the woman next to me to the point of harassment, and the bartender's response to this was to tell the woman "oh, he does that to everyone." Really? Then why let him in the bar, you have the power to throw those people out, you have a bouncer (which in this neighborhood is a hilarious thing to have). Most importantly, I want to point out that this place is antagonistic to the neighborhood. All three times I've been there and have talked to patrons and staff, most of whom are new to the area (I've lived here for 5ish years) do nothing but bad mouth and run down most of the local iconic businesses. I recommended De Hot Pot to a customer, the one that was being harassed, and she said, and I quote, "I feel like that place is for *them* and not for me". A lady last night was mentioning quite openly to two others how, which she didn't realize, the most popular bar in the neighborhood was a place for, again I quote, "ne'er do wells." Ultimately, I've decided not to go back, there are many better cocktail bars in the neighborhood, and I urge you to try them instead. This place is only benefitting off of its location after Erv's closed and it's appeal to people who have recently moved in on the north part of the neighborhood . The Saturday bartender is pretty good, and it has room for improvement, which I hope for its sake happens. read more

Draft beer variety is awesome... try the 5 Boroughs Tiny Juicy. I love their tapa like eats. Just wish they had burgers .... oh well meatballs it is! Literally my favorite bar and my go to in this neighborhood. There's a tree in the middle of the bar. All the bartenders are super rad! They get busy in the evening due to its popularity in the neighborhood but it's always a vibe, so hang around.
