The cocktails here are STRONG but super tasty and such great vibes. They have a hh but honestly I think it's worth coming any time. They have a great setup outside where you can just sit along the bar and sidewalk. It's definitely a popular neighborhood spot, but there are always people coming and going and service is super nice and quick with drink orders. This is a perfect place to meet a friend and catch up outside where it's a little quieter and still lively!

Ran into this hidden gem while bar hopping. The bartender is a true mixologist. Our drinks where good. Very spacious and cozy. Plenty of seating.

Ginger Prince - $11 during happy hour

Since passing Bearded Lady dozens of times and always noticing the buzz of happy patrons at almost any time of day - sometimes in the middle of the afternoon on a work day? - I have wanted to come here for a long time. The springtime weather seemed like the perfect opportunity to grab an outdoor seat for a happy hour. While there's plenty of indoor seating as well, Bearded Lady does a very good job creating a quality outdoor experience. There are two covered sheds with plants a little off the sidewalk, as well as tables on the sidewalk itself. Outside, there's a self-service water station. It can get a little loud, being just off of Washington Ave, but the atmosphere does a lot to offset it. During happy hour, there are 3 cocktails that are $11 (normally $13) and also small discounts for beer and rosé. I ordered the Ginger Prince, which was refreshing on a warm day, in addition to being decently strong. Service was a little slow as our server seemed stretched thin, but they were very responsive as soon as we flagged them down. While there are definitely better happy hour deals out there, Bearded Lady provides a great outdoor experience with interesting drinks and neighborhood appeal. I definitely see myself returning for more.

Friendly service that could easily become a neighborhood hangout if you are new to the area. Very gay friendly and spacious. Drinks don't have a heavy hand but a great balance.

Happening in crown heights this is a delight. First come first serve service. PS. Got full so quickly But amazing experience. Had the spiced hot toddy and the apple cider but I like the apple cider the best will recommend. Cheer's bearded lady. -one star for the hard chip of the nacho ruin my gum. Apart from that what a great service and drinks and perfect for date and catching up

The pop of color at this spot is simply delightful. Came on a quiet mid holiday Saturday afternoon and was pleased by the cocktail selection and well thought out menu. Bartenders are friendly. What's not to like? Would personally recommend park side and mr. Howell though seasonal options were also yummy!

Two cocktails are placed on a yellow table in a restaurant, one tall with a breadstick garnish and one short, with a background of chairs and a person.

The drinks here we're pretty good and the vibe with the windows open was very nice. I ordered the Sazerac which is a bit different from the type of drinks I usually get but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish they had more food options here though.

I consider myself pretty fortunate to live literally right next to one of the hottest bars in my neighborhood, and top in Brooklyn in my opinion. You can't go wrong at The Bearded Lady and I rarely have a bad time. If I could describe my favorite cocktail it would definitely be a tropical one and this place is stock full of them! In fact it's their theme! Lately, because it's such a great bar, this place is always packed but for good reason. The outside seating and ample space with open windows indoors draw in the crowds and birthday parties alike! They even have a pool table in the back! They throw a lot of events too where you can come to watch the Kentucky Derby or big sporting events or even TV shows on a big screen in the bar. The cocktails are fancy and a little expensive but rightly so with so much effort put into them! Try one of their "John the Beachcomber" cocktails but note you're only allowed 2. It's that boozy. My favorite is the Fe Rey, a lovely little tequila meets Prosecco creation that's just so delicious and always hits the spot! People also come here for their oysters and other tasty bites. I'm not a big oyster fan but people rave about them! If you're ever in the area definitely stop in, it's definitely worth it.

Unfortunately this place fell very flat. Leading with what we liked: Their mocktail offerings were good, promising a 0.0% ABV which is hard to come across when mocktails are offered. They serve oysters, which adds to that aphrodisiac experience of the oh so 'wow this is a former brothel!'. The bartenders and servers were fast and very sociable with the more sociable customers. The immediate entrance is very tight, and it was uncomfortable navigating the space. We expected there'd be more seating in the back, which there was, but it was limited and not offered to us until we asked for it. We honestly had no clue where it would be and only asked because of how this place was advertised. While it was comfy once we made our way back there, it was reminiscent of a lounge style bar space that almost any bar could replicate with the right room and budget. We didn't feel as though this hit the spot and were let down by this experience. I'm not sure if I can judge the menu of drinks/ foods as expensive, but we left hungry bc we couldn't justify some of the prices. In addition, I've seen a lot of complaints about the volume of the music: it's definitely loud at the front but a lot lower in that back lounge space. It's as loud as any bar's music level would be, but truth be told we were expecting music that matched the vibe of what was advertised and yes, at a lower volume.

They are also broken up into categories (dry land = no alcohol, shallows = average amount of alcohol, and abyss (larger amounts of alcohol). The abyss section has some cocktails that are limited to two per customer. They have some bar bites like fried green tomatoes, shrimp toast, broiled oysters, ricotta, dumplings, sliders. I had the French fries with kimchi ranch, which were underwhelming. Bartenders were cool and kept the drinks coming. I've been to this cocktail bar regrettably only twice even though I live (or rather lived upcoming…read moresoon) around the corner. It's classy but not too fancy and has enough space but doesn't get too loud. They have a nice happy hour menu from Tuesday-Friday from 5 to 7 as well as all day on Sundays which has very decent prices such as an $8 old fashioned among other things (see the photo.) the bartenders I've had before have been friendly with some good recommendations. Outside of their wide selection of cocktails which run the gamut of liquors, they have a nice wine selection, a handful of craft beers, and a very small food selection. The first time I was here, I had one drink which was the excellent Star of The Ice Snow for $17 with Iwai 45 whiskey, brie-washed Carpano Antica, Fernet Branca, barrel-aged orange bitters, and sassafras bitters. It had a a bit of bitterness, some sweetness, some spice, and some light mint from the fernet and was a pleasant complex drink and was certainly worth it from the price. The second time I was here was just this evening where I had two drinks. I first went with something that I was thinking of getting the first time which is their outstanding Vivian Darkbloom for $15 with Union mezcal, lime, pineapple, charcoal, Velvet Falernum, and lime bitters. The drink has mild citrusy sweetness as well a bit of smoke from the mezcal and is probably my favorite drink I've had here though the other drink I had the first time gives it stiff competition. I asked the bartender what he recommends and after a small discussion, he said either The Bell Witch (which is a gin and chartreuse cocktail with a strong herbal flavor) or what I went with. Said drink was the Under a Cosmic Cloak for $16 with rhubarb infused rum, Trois Rivieres rum, Smith & Cross rum, yerba mate, lime, grapefruit, and whey. The bartender said that it wouldn't be overly sweet as the rum was milk washed and this was indeed the case with just a mild sweetness and some fruitiness. There was a light herbal flavor otherwise presumably from the mate as well as a light citrus note and overall, it was good though definitely the least complex of the drinks I've tried and probably my least favorite but was definitely not a bad drink. The drinks here are reasonably priced for the quality, the bartenders are friendly, and it is classy but not overbearingly so. I can see why it's popular and I wish I stopped in more.
