There are great options ranging from Malvasia to Syrah to Cabernets, but I'd love to see the by the glass list grow a bit. Regardless, the coziness of this spot makes it perfect for coming out of the cold and nestling up with a partner or group of friends. The bread and butter is a must, and the tuna croquettes and cabbage salad were stars of the night. For mains, the burger was a hit. We came to June based on another restaurant owner's recommendation. We were going to take advantage of their $12 glass of wine happy hour, but unfortunately the only one discounted was a contact rosé which was not up our alley. We got glasses of chenin and granache blanc instead which were both totally fine. We also got some fries and the beets while we were here. They must extensively rotate out their food menu because we didn't see a single familiar dish, even from what others have recently left on Yelp. The new menu didn't speak as much to us, but the food we ordered was executed well and portions were large. Stumbled upon this natural wine bar after hitting up cobble hill cinemas a few doors down. Place was pretty busy but we were lucky to snag a table without having to wait. Natural wine bars seem to be all the hype lately and it brings me so much joy because these wines are so much easier on my body (no hangover, less heartburn, etc.). The wines I tried here - one chilled Italian red & one chilled Greek white - were refreshing and light, perfect for the small plates we shared. I could honestly say the wine selection here can go head-to-head with four horseman (iykyk) but the food is a skip for me. The space is pretty small so it's good for date nights but not big groups & you will most likely feel like you're in the conversation of your neighbor. I came here with 2 friends for wine / light bites. We sat on the back patio. It was poring down rain but the patio is so well covered we didn't feel a drip. It was also heated I believe. The vibe was very chill but the staff were all super attentive and friendly! We ordered the beet+ ricotta dish and the pickled beet dish and the serrana bean dish. It seems as though there's a limited menu from years past, but every single thing we ate (four people shared seven small plates) was absolutely delicious. The burrata was absolutely divine, and served with cucumbers (which when I saw there was no bread was surprised but it was truly the perfect dish). The potato balls (not what they're called but what they look like) were basically heaven on earth aka deep fried mashed potatoes with a delicious aioli Standouts were also the tempura asparagus and ricotta with sourdough. Food was not bad...wine was just OK...but the service kinda stunk. When we were there, it was dead during their happy hour on a Friday night during the holiday season. Now I know why! Others have written that they are short staffed. There were three on the floor, and almost no one in the bar and yet we had to wait to get served...at the bar! In fact, they had us sit at the bar even though all of the seats were empty! We assumed that they may have had reservations or a private party later. Nope! And then as we left, we lingered at the front door b/c we had been left alone for so long, but didn't want to walk out without saying farewell. It was so odd! And I know the natural wine world is small, but they had 3 reds you could get by the glass, and they were all French! Why have 3? And, fine, OK. But the server (who is working at a natural wine bar!) described one of the reds as, 'a full bodied red,' when we asked about it. Really? A French Bordeaux that is full bodied? Wow. The vibes in June are very cool. I know they have backyard, but we sat inside. It was very romantic and dimly lit, and the decor was very cool. My date and I had one glass each, and sort of chose at random. He got an orange wine, which we discovered while in Europe that fall. The one he got was def a funky one, but thats the fun part! We both enjoyed our glasses, and it was an overall good experience. One thing that wasn't ideal was getting a seat, even though we had a reservation we sort of just stood at the front for a while before someone came from behind the bar to help us. I have been super hesitant about outdoor dining, but June turned out to be the perfect spot to do so. Masks are required when entering, but once you are seated in the garden area, you can remove yours. The outdoor seating exceeded my expectations. Tables were seated way more than 6 feet apart (THANK YOU!) which really calmed my worries. The space is also very nicely decorated, string lights and all. A sweet little oasis during these crazy weird times. Of course, they are known for their natural wines so we had to give them a try. I tried both the red sparkling and orange sparkling. The red was much sweeter, but the orange really was my favorite. According to new regulations, if you order a drink, you also have to order food, but fear not! June has plenty of small dishes to safely share. We went with the Fig & Pecorino, as well as the Whipped Ricotta dip. Both matched really well with the sparkling wines that we ordered. If June had a more extensive dinner menu, we surely would have ordered more plates to try. The staff wore masks at all times, and tables + chairs were thoroughly sanitized between customers (I saw this with my own eyes). They were also super friendly and made the experience so much nicer. I wanted to like this place more but I will be honest. I'll start with the good. The wine was delicious. The first waitress was cordial and helpful and had a lovely demeanor. Very cute back area. The food was too salty and awkwardly presented. And while they won't tell you this, they will charge you extra for bread, which was necessary for the anchovy spread we ordered. The second lady who came over clearly thought we weren't spending enough money, or maybe she just didn't like non-blondes (who knows!) so she proceeded to kick us out while my friend was still drinking her wine. I was going to order one more drink but they wanted to give our table to other people, so we went elsewhere. She was incredibly brusque and rude. I went on a Sunday for an early 6pm dinner and there was plenty of space to walk in. We sat inside and it was quiet but by 745pm it was hard to hear the person across from you. I had a rose and orange wine which were both delicious. We shared all the plates which included the Comte Cheese (ok but not that amazing), the little gem salad (amazing delicious and good portion), country ham (salty but similar to a prosciutto- very good and good portion), gigante beans (so good and good portion), and the trout which was delicious. We had two sides of bread and left stuffed. Definitely pricey at the end but a very nice wine bar experience besides the typical cheese and meat plates. read more

Probably a great spot for a date. They had a beautiful outdoor space too, so a great spot if the weather is good. That said, the service wasn't super great here, and the servers were kinda mean. The bar was pretty empty when I went and it was pretty well staffed so that was a bummer. The drinks and wine here are really expensive and in my opinion not quite worth the price. I tried to come in and spent time at June with a few friends, and was made to feel very unwelcome. Walked in at 4pm to see it COMPLETELY empty. I thought nothing of it, and began to walk toward the backyard where I was hoping to sit while the rest of my friends (who were just a few minutes away) came by to join. Both waitresses ran over to me and stood side by side like two bodyguards in order to block me off to the backyard. They began to question me about who was joining me, and if we had a reservation. Now, I wasn't aware that one of my friends I was waiting for actually had made one, so I answered no. At this point, I felt pretty uncomfortable with their body language and tone as they asked me these questions and started thinking "hm, these ladies don't seem to want me here" considering that they were questioning me like this while the bar was empty save for maybe one other couple at that point. Just as I was noticing this, one of the waitresses even said something along the lines of "I know it looks really empty right now, but we have a lot of reservations in an hour." One finally said "I guess we can let you sit at table __" and directed me to a seat. After all of this happened with me, I watched these waitresses greet another party warmly without the questioning I received and felt like clearly my money was no good at June. I let my friends who were close by know about the interaction and we found another place to spend our time. I suggest the waitresses here think about how they treat certain guests over others at this establishment. read more

I chose a '17 rosé that wasn't too dry. Now the food is GREAT, suuuuper fresh. There were like 6 figs halved in the stracciatella. Ricotta dip was really refreshing, tomatoes were bomb, and sliced baguette was crusty the way I love. I can also confirm the succotash and chicken plate were decent at the least, only because the older couple next to us looked so impressed as they ate their meals. Yes, the seating is elbow to elbow unless you've got a larger party- just a warning. I came here with my best friend and my boyfriend for a lowkey birthday dinner last weekend. Upon entering I felt the specific kind of vibe I was looking for in a small birthday celebration. The lighting was cozy and intimate, and the music playing overhead made me feel like they knew I was coming. (I have a rule that if a restaurant plays Toro y Moi, it's an automatic thumbs up from me.) We were seated at a table shaped like a half-circle close to the bar, with a small candle on the table. Our waiter was enthusiastic and witty. We honestly wasn't prepared for his energy levels, considering the very chill vibe of the restaurant but we rolled with it. He gave us some wine recommendations based off on our interests and we ordered promptly. We also ordered a few small plates, which despite being warned by the waiter, we're much smaller than we expected. Everything we ordered was delicious, but we did leave expecting to have to stop at a deli for a snack later that night. I loved June! Located on Court Street, this is a very intimate, classy wine bar reminiscent of a French bistro, with wonderful creative cocktails and wine selection. The marble-top counter top bar is delicious to sit at and watch mixologist Nicola (a Venetian direct from Italy) shake up his famous "Venetian Sunset" cocktail. He pours generously and is happy to share his "secret" recipe. The other staff are all warm, easy and friendly. My favorite bar in Brooklyn. Came here on a Friday night with my boyfriend, at the recommendation of a good friend. I'd do some things differently next time: 1- I'd come with a group to try their wildly extensive menu of natural wines-- the "by the glass options" are quite limited and quickly become pricey. 2- I had no idea this would be the case -- but the desserts blew us out of the water. I haven't had such good pies and cakes even in my best local bakeries. Warm, apple pie with a delicious whipped cream on the side is such a basic --- but they hit all the notes so well that it was truly memorable. I'd skip the olives or whatever and get just desserts. They have some interesting wine-membership options on their site -- and if, by some odd twist of fate, I became a Cobble Hill dweller with Montessori tots decked out in $500+ consignment pieces by my side, I'd probably shop there myself.
