Came here for lunch with a few colleagues and were seated quickly since we had a reservation. We all decided on the lunch special and basically had the same meal with one exception. One of my colleagues had the meatballs as appetizers and stated they were delicious. The rest of us had the ricotta drizzled with spicy honey, figs, sliced almonds on toasted Tuscan bread which was delicious. We all had the fusilli al ferretto as our main coarse and agreed it was cooked to perfection with the right amount of sauce and cheese. We were all famished and finished our entire meal. I had an absolutely delightful experience meeting a friend here today. We sat outside in one of the enclosed and heated gazebos and enjoyed the people watching and the feeling of dining al fresco, while completely protected from the whipping November wind outside. We shared the Fall salad, which was a tasty mix of apples, red and white cabbage, brussel sprouts, raisins and toasted hazelnuts, lightly dressed, and an insanely delicious gluten-free Pasta al Funghi e Tartufo (the pasta is normally a tagliatelle). The sauce was an incredible combination of mixed mushrooms and aged parmigiano. Wow! What a dish!! We both had Bloody Marys and finished our meal by sharing the nicely warmed Tortino al Cioccolato with vanilla ice cream paired with cappuccinos. When we finished our meal we were pleasantly greeted by the manager, Jessica; upon learning that my name was the same as the restaurant, she ever-so-graciously emerged a few minutes later with a nicely packaged bottle of Felice 100% Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The service was impeccable and the food excellent. This was the third location of the chain that I visited and most definitely my favorite all around, from setting to service to food!! I look forward to taking friends and family back here and hope to even bring my dog and eat outside again in the enclosed seating on the sidewalk. The shape of the calamari made it seem like they were the frozen ring kind and not fresh. I got the seafood pasta in red sauce. My husband got the special cod. He always chooses a fish dish. It wasn't the best he's had and probably wouldn't get again unlike the halibut at Colonie which is our go to! What saved the night was the pistachio dessert. Wanted a place to eat for lunch. Came in after the lunch rush. Place only had 2 patrons. We asked the waiter if she had some recommendations. We were met with the ill-fated: "everything is good." Not helpful. They have a prix fixe lunch for $34, which actually isn't that bad. We had the mussels and meatballs as appetizers. The mussels were good. White wine sauce was average. Could have had more flavor. The toasted bread was nice. The meatballs were fantastic- full of flavor with a thick tomato sauce with Parmesan on top Entrees- Cacio e Pepe- standard dish. They execute it well. Can't go wrong with ordering this. Salmon salad- generous portions of avocado. Was able to get the dressing on the side. Drinks They did not have the Spritz I was interested in. We ended selecting one of the zero prof drinks with grapefruit. It had a spicy kick at the back of my throat. We did ask if we could add alcohol to the spritz and she told us we cannot alter it. I've never heard of a restaurant refusing the addition of alcohol to a drink! Here's the best part. The bill came and we were charged for the spritz I was denied in addition to everything else. What a shame. This has yet to be rectified. I think the service alone would cause me to venture to plenty other restaurants in the area. We were checked on several times during the meal, but checking on us does not make up for lack of flexibility, not knowing the menu, and overcharging. The exterior was mushy. lukewarm but steaming and crisp inside, a sure sign that it had been mercilessly zapped in the microwave. The pasta, meat and sauce were fused and practically inedible. Finally, recognizing our distress, the manager approached and explained that the kitchen had been preoccupied by a catering order. She apologized and comped our two glasses of wine. I reported the lasagna mess. She apologized again. Not our first experience here. Montague Street continues to lack decent dining choices. Until then stick with Key Food, Lassen & Henning and the always reliable Dellarocca's gourmet pizza. Honorable mention to Xian de Classic , the excellent new Thai cuisine up the block. read more

Asked to be seated in the igloo outside but was told it was fully booked due to a reservation at 9pm, even though we came in at 6:30pm No problem. We were made a high top table right next to a service door the servers used for outdoor dining. Imagine the cold breeze each time something g needed to be ran outside... The bartender was our server, he was a pleasure. Very insightful and willing to help with suggestions and dietary modifications. The charcuterie board (chefs selection for two) was bountiful- enough to feed the 4 out have some to snack on later. The wine selection has something for each preferred taste. I came here Friday evening after a concert with a friend and the place was packed. Thankfully, we had made a reservation and were seated inside immediately. I noticed there were some tables en pleine air as well as tables in covered igloos outside so I would recommend specifying if you plan on making a reservation. Our table was sandwiched between two others against the back wall and it felt a little packed; I could very clearly hear the conversation on either side of the table. We started our meal with some fresh bread on the house and some excellent olive oil. It was grassy and bold, the perfect way to kick start my taste buds for dinner. We ordered the pappardelle con salsiccia ($26) and the rigatoni al salmone ($28). The pappardelle was delicious with the truffle sauce though I think the braised endive was a bold choice as the bitterness was a little distracting. Personally I would have preferred more porcini mushrooms but maybe next time I'll order the gemelli al funghi instead. The pappardelle itself was eggy and deliciously fresh. The rigatoni had an intensely smoked salmony sauce that was rich and creamy, but it quickly became too much after a few bites. During the course of my dinner, I did notice that the crowds skewed a little older; I think my parents would fit in right away. I am familiar with and visited Felice--specifically the one on Gold Street in the FiDi area--so when I discovered they recently found a home on Montague Street, I was thrilled. It was a first time visit for my birthday and a wonderful experience from start to finish. I loved everything about this Felice. Let me count the ways: 1. Beautiful outdoor individualized igloos for those of us who might still be Covid cautious (the interior was sleek and sexy). 2. The hospitality. From server Gabriella and manager Flavio to other staff whose name I didn't catch---they really make you feel welcomed and special. (I will comment that due to the busy activity, the service was (at times) a bit slow--refilling of water glasses and delivery of our 2nd drink). 3. Upscale atmosphere. Stunning. Interior vibe was energetic and inviting. But once again, I really appreciated the effort of the outdoor igloo option for those of us not ready to jump into indoor dining. 4. THE FOOD. I left this for last because it was absolutely amazing. Here is what we ordered: For starter: *The Mussels Pomodoro. A really nice portion of mussels in a garlic tomato sauce with two slices of toasted rustic bread. This was phenomenal and filling--definitely good for sharing. I loved the sauce, which was cooked to perfection, and the freshness of the mussels. Spot on and highly recommended. *The Fried Calamari with Artichoke. Arranged on brown paper to absorb the oil, this appetizer was excellent. Rather than serving it with a Marinara sauce, this appetizer was accompanied by a Jalapeno Aioli. The Calamari was tender to the bite and the addition of the artichoke was unique--unlike anything I tasted. Main: *Baked Gnocchi. Not my selection because I'm not a gnocchi fan, but I took a bite---soft, billowy gnocchi immersed in a mozzarella tomato sauce. I think this dish--or rather the way Felice prepared it--could actually convert someone to being a fan of gnocchi. *Rigatoni with Salmon. My selection. Al dente (maybe a little too much?) rigatoni integrated with cubes of salmon, white wine, parsley with a touch of heavy cream (but not creamy) and chili pepper. This pasta dish was executed very well and the combination of flavors with the cream was deep, but didn't weigh me down. The grand finale was the dessert which we shared---Tortino di Gianduia. If you love Hazelnut, this is sure to please. A chocolate hazelnut mousse cake that was not only delicious but light and airy sprinkled on top with a layer of toasted hazelnuts. I should also mention that their cocktails are top notch. Frizzante 75 and The Fall of Rome were absolutely delicious. Felice on Montague is one of many restaurants in their hospitality group. There was not one misstep during our dining experience and visiting on my birthday was a wonderful treat. The staff/team does everything right. If you're familiar, you can relate. My date told him that we had a table reserved because we called 20 minutes ago then he looked through his system or (book I couldn't tell) then took us to our table. We had a nice waitress and they were really attentive with our water. The food was delicious and the restaurant is so beautiful. It's just that I noticed this host gave better treatment to different clients/customers. For instance he took off the jackets of these two older white gentlemen and asked them repeatedly how their day was, while he gave us the cold shoulder and never once spoke to us... even when he went around most tables asking them how their meal was.
