My new favorite wine bar in the East Village, a true hidden gem. Cozy, quiet, with great wines - everything I want in a wine bar! Everything else in this neighborhood is always so crowded but I walked in at 5pm on a Sunday and it was completely empty, which is exactly the peaceful environment I was looking for in a wine bar compared to the loud crowds in most places in the East Village. I came here with three of my friends for a little drink before dinner to celebrate my birthday, and the owner was kind enough to give us a glass on the house! We got the chilled red, the Mooa Les Sauriens, which I really enjoyed - a medium bodied red that was very balanced and more fruity, but felt super light and perfect for a warmer fall day. The sourdough with yuzu kosho butter was a nice appetizer to nibble on as well. Plus, we happened to be in at happy hour 4-6PM on weekends, so all wines were 20% off too! Thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and will definitely be back. read more

Cute little wine bar with candlelit tables and small bites to eat! I loved this place. We came on a weekend at night around 9 pm and only waited a few minutes to get seated. They have both bar and table seating. The place was full but not crowded, and most people didn't have to wait long to get seated either. The wines are reasonably priced and the servers were so sweet. The ambiance is very cozy and interesting. The servers are hip and friendly enough. Unfortunately, that's about it. The food and the wine are both terrible. I know they are going for the "wine of the day" type thing with glass selections highlighted to more accessible wines at a reasonable price point, but the selection is too limited and prices are still $14, 15, 18 etc. Worst of all, the wines are just bad. Worse than the wines is the food. I tried two dishes, granted, but they were both microwavable food quality. I guess if you are a college kid who wants to mix it up with a glass of wine instead of the usual beer or two, this could work. If you had experience with wine, though, avoid this place. read more

I'm so sick for paying $16-18 for one glass of wine that I have essentially stopped drinking at this point. I can get a meal for that. I'm sick of it. They have these 2 little seats outside that are right by this cool lamp in the window and have a subtle heart shaped back on the chairs. It's really the heart shaped back that got my ass. I was on my long walk to close up Memorial Day weekend, and felt like getting a glass of wine and writing a little bit just to decompress. I deserve it. I work hard. It had been awhile since I'd spent $20 on a glass of wine just to enjoy an ambiance. I was JUICED when the guy said I could sit outside in the little heart shaped back chairs hehehee. He handed me a menu and the craziest thing happened. The wine glass pricing ranged from $11-$13 at a non happy hour time. A Christmas miracle in May...... I went with the Mestizaje that was $11.50 a glass, because I didn't want to look like a broke boy and order the cheapest glass on the menu ($11) lol. I sat there, typing away on my 2021 Macbook Pro while sipping on a $11.50 glass of red wine in this heart shaped back iron chair on 3rd street in the east village, the beautiful evening Spring air brushing on my skin, just enjoying life. loved the vibe and ambiance of this bar - but the photography exhibition on view was cheap, exploitative, and offensive. psa - "street photography" of people experiencing homelessness and addiction (and particularly depicting nonconsensual nudity) isn't trendy or interesting. it's just gross. read more

We ordered the Blanc Bino Chardonnay that paired well with our brie croquette, broccoli salad, and sweet potato pesto gnocchi. We chose to sit at the bar and loved the personal touch it added being able to watch our small plates being prepared. The food has exciting flavor combinations and was overall delicious. Most severely mid food and the smallest "small plates" I've ever experienced. Like you need a microscope to find the food type small. Also like it was the entire wait staff's first day on the job, completely forgetting about my table for most of the time. It was my birthday and they forgot to check on so long that my friend went up to the bar to order dessert (which is crazy at a sit down dinner) and found out that way that the kitchen was closed. The waiter never warned us of that. Wine was good tho, but the whole thing fell flat. read more

This place is an underrated treasure that deserves far more recognition. They only accept walk-ins, but it wasn't too busy when we arrived--probably because we came after peak hours but I have a feeling that won't last long. I'm hoping to visit a few more times before word gets out and it becomes a hot spot. The ambiance here is so peaceful, making it the perfect escape from the usual hustle of lower east side. Since we'd already had dinner, we came for the wine and ordered a couple of small plates: beef tartare and scallops. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Service is great, the food is SO good and the ambiance is perfect. I ordered a carafe for me and a friend as we caught up post holidays. Music is just loud enough to not feel uncomfortable, but the place isn't so loud that we have to shout. We could hear each other perfectly.
