I came here with 2 of my girlfriends on a monday night to catchup for drinks and bites. You wouldn't expect the bar to look as nice as it did when you walk outside but once we got in we loved the way the bar was set up with the bartender in the middle and the customers all along the bar surrounding them. It felt more cozy than having individual spaced out tables. We tried the following foods: Fried potatoes 9/10 these were very flavourful. I'd recommend getting these. Chorizo 8/10 Fennel salad 10/10 this was delicious, I would go back even just for this Grilled octopus 9/10 I'm not one that loves octopus but this tasted great Charcuterie plate 11/10 I loved this cheese platter. I don't remember what the other cheeses and meats were but I especially liked the blue cheese. I tried the Sciaccerellu (Corsican wine) as I had recently come back from a trip to Corse (the French island) and i thought this paired very well with the cheeses and bite we were having. Overall I would recommend making a visit to Lelabar on a random weeknight to feel that local NYC experience. read more

Dropped by about 45 mins before an 9pm show at Cherry Lane Theater a few blocks away because other restaurants were full and I uncharacteristically did not plan ahead. Luckily there were plenty of bar seats available and the kitchen was relatively speedy. The vibe was cozy on this wintry night and perfect for a wine bar dinner. We got some some west coast oysters which were fresh and full of amazing, briny flavor and paired beautifully with the Gruner we got. Also enjoyed their patatas bravas and grilled shrimp with garlic and chili oil. It came with bread and actually had me sated enough to hold me over until after the show. I understand why this spot has been here for so long-- it's a reliable standby, a true neighborhood restaurant that isn't overly trendy and is hospitality forward. read more

Nothing really special about this place. Wine selection is fine, no entree, only appetizers, cheese and charcuterie. Pretty pricey apps with such a small portion. And the server at the end made a mistake with the bill, shouting and calling us back, as if we left the table without paying. He apologized, but just not really the experience we want. No, unlikely will come back here nor recommend it to my folks. read more

I am newly obsessed with this cosy moody spot in WV. Dennis was fantastic and so attentive and wonderful as our server. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share and a bottle of wine and extra glasses to share among a group of friends catching up. All the food was incredible, loved the potatoes and chorizo in particular and cannot go wrong with the mixed meat and cheese boards. Some nights they also have live music! Can't wait to be back. read more

Met up with a friend here last night and think I might have found my new favorite wine bar. The atmosphere is so fun and energetic and with a reservation (since it's really hot in NYC right now) you can sit inside by the bar and enjoy the AC. To this end, do think they might need to get the AC cranked higher because it did get hot at the bar. The happy hour ends at 6P so get there early to partake of a good assortment of wine and snacks. Here's where I think they really provide a great experience. Their cheese and meat plates are perfectly curated. Lelabar - Give the man putting them together a promotion. Not only was he the friendliest person in there, he clearly is an artist. Great time. Will be back! read more

Came here for a glass of wine with the girls and really enjoyed it! It's a super cute vibe and our server was really nice. The wine list is interesting and well-curated (they even have a Pet-Nat by the glass) and the pours are generous. The server was also willing to split a glass for my friend and me. I had the Shiraz and it was flavorful with the quintessential jamminess, but also surprisingly delicate. I didn't have food but they had some nice apps on the menu. Will be back! read more

Decent prices for wines by the glass - I regularly came here with friends after Solidcore classes a few blocks south (it's all about balance, right??) and consistently had a good time. It's one of those places that's always the right amount of busy - they'll be able to seat you, but it's never dead. They have a nice amount of outdoor seating and the service is always decent. One complaint is that they do offer food but it is very very limited so it's not the sort of place where you can really feasibly do dinner. They have sandwiches on the menu but I think they may only be offered for lunch. It's more of a like a wine and charcuterie type place. The charcuterie boards are great though! They don't change the menu frequently which I actually prefer because I'm a bit picky with wine so when I find one I like I rarely deviate. They have a few orange wines too which is not my style, but I have some friends really into the whole bio/natural thing. Would return. read more

Cozy vibes, great wine selection, and great service! Be sure to check out their happy hour! Their outdoor seating is so cozy and quaint with twinkle lights and plenty of tables. I've gone at different times of the evening and I've never had to wait at all! Perfect location for a pre- or post-dinner wine spot. Great selection of wines and small plates! My party of two was seated immediately at one of the outdoor tables. There were partitions between the tables and some heat lamps above. There's also a sturdy structure separating the seating area from the street so we felt very safe (whoa a lot of s's in that sentence). After we got seated, service was efficient and speedy. We sampled a couple of wines by the glass, and also had some olives, and a cheese and meat platter that our server picked for us. I had such a lovely time, and this may be one of my new favorite wine bars in the city. Will definitely be back. read more

Came here during happy hour with my friend around 5:30PM and we got seated pretty quickly with the last two seats available near the oval bar. It gets crowded very quickly so I advise you to come right when happy hour starts! We got a bottle of white wine ($28) to share and it was very smooth with a hint of sweetness that I enjoyed. We also got half dozen oysters but I would not recommend getting them, as they were very small. The cheese and meat platter that we also got was delicious. Surprisingly, it's very filling. The prices are very reasonable for a wine bar in the city. Service and ambiance was great, as the setting feels very cozy and intimate. In all, we had a wonderful time and I'd definitely come back again. read more

Red lovers try this for sure! GSM blend, Chateau Saint Nabor Domaine des Santonilles, Ctes du Rhne Villages 2014 One of the cutest wine bars. Great service and vibe. I wish they maintained the indoor ambience better, it was just a bit messy around the bar with boxes, bottles etc. we had a great time chatting with the bar tender, ate some fresh oysters and literally got buzzed drinking the rose and red wine! I can keep going here to get buzzed on delicious wine. They have a lot of outdoor seating too, if Incase you want more space and larger groups. read more

I've always been a big fan of Lelabar and the incredible ambiance, happy hour deals, and food that comes here. I've been here at least 4-5 times and each time has always impressed. A+ for consistency. Came here most recently on a Saturday afternoon at 5:15 pm for a date. When I got there the oval bar seating was 3/4 and was surprisingly packed, but we managed to get two chairs to sit at at the bar. We ordered for happy hour: one glass of rose, one glass of white, and the 3 cheese/salami board. Total bill came out at $36 tax and tip not included. AMBIANCE: Ambiance ambiance ambiance! This place is incredible! Romantic, music not too loud. Great spot to set the mood if you're going out with a special someone. Super cute decor and wood themes. I love how the bar is set up like an island with a giant circular table. There are some seating by the windows, towards the walls, and at the back hugging the wall of the bathroom, but this place is small and could pack at most ~20 people comfortably I'd say Get here early though. Lelabar opens at 5pm, and when we got there at 515pm on Saturday the bar was nearly 3/4 full! This place does get crowded and packed later during the night. Two bartenders were staffing the bar and the cheese/salami plates tonight, so they could get a little inattentive due to the crowd. PROS: I love the happy hour pricing! For $28 a bottle or $8 a glass. Four bottles to choose, two reds, one white, and one rose. I got the white and she got the rose. Wines were great, and the bartenders allowed us to sample before we ordered the drink. We also ordered the three plates with two meats with cheeses ($15). Gota total selection of seven or eight, and we got the gypsy salami and prosciutto. Those were fantastic. We got their creamy cheese which was really smooth and good. OVERALL: Will be coming back to LELAbar for more date nights and other celebrations! read more

While walking through SoHo with a different destination, we heard live music that took us out of our way on our return. We ended up at Lelabar, and even though not fully hungry, decided to build our own charcuterie board with a shared bottle of wine on the side. Add an olive that actually had me going back for thirds? That's a win! Great combo with the live jazz! Definitely gave that NYC experience with a not too hefty NYC price tag.. Last time I came here was before the pandemic. I was wondering if this place was up and running during COVID. Was so happy they're open and indeed it was packed at 11pm on Monday night! Great wine list delish bar snacks, Corin (not sure of the correct spelling of her name) and Tai were steaming the vibe in the air. Wagyu Sliders is a must try in addition the charcuterie that enhanced the richness of a bottle of burgundy even further. Tips: they will open wines that are only by bottles as long as you can consume two glasses. How superb. read more

Lelabar itself is a pretty nice spot in a good location in the West Village. It's got pretty good options for a wine bar and the food is decent too. It's nice and trendy which is generally what you are looking for out of a wine bar. Personally, I don't think it stood out over other wine bars I've been to in NYC other than that it wasn't bad. It was really crowded when I went and the service was practically non existent. Really difficult to get any sort of drink. Granted it was a weekend but I am still looking for a more relaxed vibe at a wine bar and Lelabar did not deliver that at all. Overall, no reason not to go in if you're nearby but don't expect to have your mind blown. read more

Manager power trips. Whole staff so much better, good wine and very nice food, so it has potential to be a great place

LeLaBar located at West Village is wine lover's paradise with an extensive wine collection of over 700 wines from different parts of the world. The simple yet classy interior sets the mood for the place. The space consists of a large oval bar serving customers with delicious food and wine. The bartenders here are hospitable, welcoming and have complete knowledge of all the wines they serve. We started off with a glass of Cider and a Rosé. We paired our drinks with their House Marinated Olives which had a delicious taste of lemon zest. With some suggestions from the bartender we were set with our next dishes. We got the Smoked Salmon which was served alongside a delectable Wasabi Oil Soy Sauce. The salmon had a beautiful smoky flavor which was perfectly balanced by the sauce. Next up was the Beet Root Carpaccio and the Truffle Toast. These were the star dishes of our night and we definitely recommend them to everyone. The Beet Root Carpaccio is served with a generous drizzle of truffle oil and crushed pistachio. The Truffle Toast is absolutely beautiful aesthetically and packs a punch of all that flavorful truffle. These two dishes are a must have and you'll surely be wanting for more. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Truffle which was basically like a cherry on the icing for our amazing experience here. read more

Nice spot to grab a quick few glasses of wines and small eats. They did a great job with the space they have which isn't a lot. Seems like the only person who was really cramped was probably the host as she had a little corner by the door. Bartender was very knowledgeable of all the wines and even the origins of certain food items. I'd recommend making a reservation as it is limited seating. read more

Lelabar is a wine enthusiast's delight, with an extensive selection featuring all sorts of varietals from all over the globe, excellently complemented by their cheese, meat, and small bites selection. My experience at Lelabar was a great one. I didn't come during happy hour (though I hear the deals are great), but wanted to get a nice bottle anyway for a celebration. The bar is circular with some seats against the walls, which is where we sat. When I came, on a Thursday night, the place was quite crowded and it was a little difficult to hear my friend talk. That is my only complaint though. Next time around I'd come a bit earlier so I could hold a conversation a bit better. The ambiance here is great. The lighting is dim and it is a great place for either a date or a girls night out. The wine list was pretty extensive. It was a bit pricier than I'd expect some of the bottles to be, but definitely worth it. No matter what you are looking for, you can find it here. I wanted to try something funky and different and settled on an amphora aged Granacha. No regrets, the wine was fantastic and I'll definitely make an effort to come back here again. read more

I didn't know what to expect when we came here one Sunday. It was empty when we walked in but got busier as we sat and enjoyed the wine. We had a great time and a lot of that had to do with our great bartender James. He knew a lot about wine and gave us a lot of good recommendations. The wine we tried was all solid and from all over. I am not normally a white wine drinker but we also liked the one he poured us. I think it was a chardonnay but not sure. The red wine was ridiculous. So good. The bar set up is a circle island style bar and it pretty much covers the whole place. They have a small bathroom in back and thats about it. They also have a small food menu with little bar snacks. We didnt get to try but I am sure they were good. Overall, the experience was awesome. The red wine is awesome and James the bartender was the man. We will definitely be back! read more

This is a great spot for wine and nibbles. Great happy hour that goes until 7pm and includes wines by the glass ($10), bottles ($36), and some beer. The cheese and meats were nice, as were the olives and almonds. The inside has a U-shaped bar so it has a communal vibe. Lots of outdoor, covered seating, some with heaters as well. Our waitress was very attentive even with all the chaos of Halloween going on (great spot for people watching on the way to the parade) and they were giving out candy to the kids. Would definitely come here again for happy hour. Probably not the best place to have a full on meal, but come for some good wine and then go have dinner somewhere else nearby. read more

Some of the most unprofessional service I've ever experienced. The only waitstaff was a barback who was stoned out of his mind. Despite having reserved an outside table for 8 (which took 10 minutes to get ready after our reservation time) we had to continuously go inside to the bartender to ask for water, menus, wine, glasses, the bill. Absolutely embarrassing and then top it off by demanding a 25% tip in front of all of your other customers read more

Solid Happy Hour on a Friday night. We strolled in around 5:45-6:00pm and was offered the back wall area. There's 3 wine options for HH - one red, one white and one rose. I opted for the rose - the bartender comes and lets everyone try their wines first before he pours you your full glass, which is pretty generous. We opted to split their 3 cheeses and 3 meats, which came with bread and mustard. I quite liked the combo - there was, however, more cheese + meat than bread so we ended up just nibbling on cheese/meats at the end. Prices were reasonable and service was attentive enough. If I'm in the area again looking for HH, I wouldn't hesitate to stop by in Lelabar again. read more

We were visiting the City recently and meeting up with a family member before dinner...he recommended we meet at Lelabar, and we're glad that we did! Here is what we noticed: - We were meeting him at 6:15pm on a Friday evening...there were going to be three of us, and because we got there a bit early we were able to quickly snag a couple of chairs at a little ledge in the area behind the bar. Be warned, at that time/day, it's pretty hard to find seats anywhere...either at the bar or one of the few tables they have. In any event, a bar stool opened up shortly thereafter and we were able to move it to create a little seating group for the three of us. - Because service is at the bar only, we had to order food/drinks there...no problem whatsoever, and the bartenders were really helpful. - Others have mentioned the Happy Hour...it includes various wines, including some by the glass and some bottles too. We tried one of the Reds, and then ordered a bottle to share (which became two bottles a short while later...at exactly two minutes before the Happy Hour was to end). The bottles were very reasonable at $28 each. - We also got a cheese plate...I really liked the fact that we could pick the specific items on the plate from a variety of options. - Atmosphere was really comfy and relaxing. Bottom line: Great find. If we lived in NYC, this would surely be one of our "go-to" places! read more
