My friend and I stopped by Moonflower for a round of drinks before our dinner reservation last Saturday night. It's a charming, tiny wine bar that I've been wanting to visit for a while. We walked in around 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and got the last two seats at the bar (in the whole bar, too). The service was great, and it was a comfortable (if packed and tight) place to enjoy some great natural wines. We only had time for one round, but I definitely would have stayed for more if it weren't for our early dinner reservation. A great little natural wine bar.

Really enjoyed this cute wine bar! After a nice walk along the water with my friend, we stumbled upon this adorable spot while walking through the west village. I thought the name was so cute and we were lucky enough to grab a table outside since the inside was a bit loud and packed. I loved that they had a wine menu based on your zodiac sign! Even though I'm not really into astrology, I am indecisive so this made it easy to pick a wine! Mine was a bubbly rose and I loved it! My friend and I shared some ricotta toast with roasted cherries and the prosciutto with seasonal cherries. Both were great! I especially enjoyed the ricotta toast. Their menu changes based on the season so it might not be there next time. Great service, very friendly!

Super cute, intimate wine bar. We (2 people) stopped in on a Friday night around 7pm and we are to grab a seat at the bar without a wait. The wine selection is thought out and not too expansive. I tried several glasses as well as one of the wine cocktails. Everything was delicious even if they were not as cold as I would have preferred. (It was a hot day and the fridges were probably having to work pretty hard.) We ordered the cucumber and ricotta toast plates. Both were yummy, especially the sauce on the cucumbers. The food was good but I wouldn't come here just for the food. The bartender, Jacob, was very personable and made sure we always had something to drink. The atmosphere is hazy and laid-back. It is a great place for intimate conversations. The prices are reasonable.

Absolutely loved this little wine bar! It's a little hidden but once you step inside it's the perfect spot for a date or drinks with friends. The wines are organized based on your star sign and I thought that was a very cute idea. I loved the selection in general (had great whites options which is my go to) and the staff was great giving excellent recommendations. We also snacked on some of their appetizers. The whipped ricotta was heavenly (I did not realize cherries and ricotta were such a great match). The bread was also perfectly fluffy and crispy. The pasta was delicious though I wish it was a little bigger portion size given the price. All in all, definitely a top wine bar for me!

The cutest wine bar in Greenwich village. Since it opened last year, this has been my favorite bar to pop in before dinner reservations. They have a good bottle selection, but fairly limited options by glass - but the ones available are always good. I'll continue to visit often!

Cute wine bar, fun little orange wine selection, and a friendly quick service. Fun and eclectic decor.

I ordered a glass of bubbly and rose, both recommended by the bartender, and they were both very yummy.

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

But the best thing we had by far was the dak mandu, the crab/chicken dumplings. Those alone are worth coming back for. The ssam lettuce wraps were good, though they read a little more like Jewish brisket with a spicy bean sauce than what I expected from a Korean lettuce wrap. Still tasty, just a different vibe. Honestly, this would've been a 5-star meal if I didn't leave with three mosquito bites. Great food, great service, great wine -- just maybe bring bug spray.

First off, the front door is mounted on flimsy plastic hinges, so every time someone opens it, it swings open violently and knocks the vase off the nearby table. The service was somehow even worse. When I was there on Tuesday, May 19th from 8-10 PM, there was exactly ONE bartender working the entire place -- both inside and outside -- and she was unbelievably inattentive. My date and I sat at the bar for TWENTY MINUTES before she even acknowledged us or asked if we wanted drinks. I literally had to call out "Excuse me" just to order a $25 quarter-filled glass of wine. Embarrassing all around. And when we were ready to leave and wanted the check, the female bartender working on Tuesday May 19th from 8-10 PM was busy standing in the corner chatting with someone instead of helping customers. I haven't seen someone move this slowly or care this little since the DMV. TO MANAGEMENT - this was absolutely horrible, embarrassing, and unprofessional service. Clean up your act, and hire a second or even a third bartender.
