    On a lovely fall day!

Amazing wines! Super friendly staff! Love coming here when the weather is good, getting a table outside and just people watching. It's a favorite, will continue coming here!

One trillion zillion stars for taking care of a single diner looking to relax and recharge. The party was outside today, awesome people watching. Interior is cozy and dark but I was feeling this perfect fall day. Bartender team of one gave amazing service and let me swap out wine after I didn't like my taste. Just be aware bites are small but pours are good!

My friend and I came here last Sunday afternoon for some orange wine! It was my friend's first time trying orange wine, so definitely needed to take her to try some! I'm a huge fan of skin contact wine, so I was especially looking forward to coming here. This was my first time coming here, so I was excited in trying their stuff! The wine bar has a front bar section and a lounge in the back for smaller groups. Our server/bartender was courteous and knowledgeable on the wine selections! We started off with a bottle of Tragolargo (Moscatel + Malvasia), which is a good medium bodied orange wine with a good funk. The server was attentive and checked back in occasionally. Overall, very quaint and nice spot to drink wine and chat!. Also we noticed there was a larger asian crowd in this bar, only to find out this was an asian owned establishment! Very awesome! Would come back and recommend others to try orange wine!

Skin Contact is hands down my favorite wine bar in the city. They specialize in natural wines which really differentiates them from the crowd. Everyone, and especially Stefanie, is super welcoming, sweet, and knowledgeable about wines. No matter if you're a wine novice or connoisseur, the staff will be able to pick something that fits your palate. We came on a Sunday and it was bustling but not full. There is bar counter, table, and outdoor seating. The ambiance would make for a great date or catch up spot. There were plenty of regulars which really attests to how great of a wine bar this is. They get pretty busy Friday and Saturday, so I would definitely come early or make a reservation on Resy! Overall, would 100% recommend that you come check this place out before they become more well-known and hard to reserve! It's a wonderful local business and a great addition to LES.

Great spot for a walk-in date and some small bites. We had to get some of the orange skin contact wines... the one the waiter recommended (Kontakt) was a bit too fermented for me, and he gladly swapped for the Bauer. Although, my sister loved the Philip Lardot Kontakt. For food we got the almonds which were tasty and savory. The squash burrata was pretty basic and the squash was a bit undercooked but still edible. The meat plate was fabulous--perfect thin slices and crunchy baguette. Will be back here soon!

One of my favorite spots in nyc. Great staff, very knowledgeable about the wines and quick with a tasty recommendation, also very friendly. Fantastic place for a date, or to meet up with friends as it's cozy and dimly lit. The layered potato is one of my favorite treats in the city.

While I'm sure it's impossible to try every bar in NY that specializes in natural wine I can say from my experience that this is the best in the city. The atmosphere is great, the service is wonderful, but above all their collection of wines is top notch. Every glass my party of 6 had was stellar, and there was something for everyone. I'm personally a fan of very full-bodied, and funky flavor profiles in wine, and our server nailed every recommendation, but also did the same for everyone else with their much more reasonably requests. I'm so glad I found this place, as it's relatively new (it opened just barely pre-pandemic). Their prices are reasonable, and overall this is a must visit no matter where you're from, or staying in the city. 10/10

I really enjoyed this spot! It's intimate and cozy and features many natural wines. They have a lovely selection if that's what you're into - and if not, chances are you'll still find something you like. They had lots of good recommendations and were welcoming and made me feel comfortable. We also ordered the chocolate lava cake and it was the absolute perfect addition. Overall a really nice spot to come by for a date!

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Starting with the positives -the banchan was solid across the board and really flavorful. That said, charging for banchan feels strange to me. Traditionally, it's complimentary, like bread at an Italian restaurant so that part didn't sit right but it was flavorful. The chigae was interesting and probably the standout dish. It had a unique flavor that reminded me of a mix between soondubu and dwenjang chigae which worked well. Unfortunately, the rest was a miss. The bossam was overly salty and didn't feel true to the dish. The tteokbokki was another disappointment -it came with cheese (which wasn't expected) and just fell flat overall. For the hype, I expected much more especially because I've eaten Korean food my whole life. The venue is small and the seats in the back are uncomfortable.

First off, the front door is mounted on flimsy plastic hinges, so every time someone opens it, it swings open violently and knocks the vase off the nearby table. The service was somehow even worse. When I was there on Tuesday, May 19th from 8-10 PM, there was exactly ONE bartender working the entire place -- both inside and outside -- and she was unbelievably inattentive. My date and I sat at the bar for TWENTY MINUTES before she even acknowledged us or asked if we wanted drinks. I literally had to call out "Excuse me" just to order a $25 quarter-filled glass of wine. Embarrassing all around. And when we were ready to leave and wanted the check, the female bartender working on Tuesday May 19th from 8-10 PM was busy standing in the corner chatting with someone instead of helping customers. I haven't seen someone move this slowly or care this little since the DMV. TO MANAGEMENT - this was absolutely horrible, embarrassing, and unprofessional service. Clean up your act, and hire a second or even a third bartender.
