Where do I begin?! Everything we ordered was delicious and tasted so fresh. For starters, I had the tuna tartare which was so good. I've dined at many restaurants and not all manage to serve a freshly tasting and flavorful tuna but Savelli did just that. For my main, I ordered a pie that was half chicken for me and the other half had ham, sausage, and pepperoni for someone else at the table. It's a decent size pie and in my opinion it's good for at least three people. I'm looking forward to visiting again to try one of their pasta dishes. read more

Savelli in Brooklyn is a must try Italian restaurant if you want cozy Italian food in an elevated space that still feels comfortable. You can have a real conversation here and it is not loud or overwhelming. For the food, the only item I ordered that is shown in the picture was the sautéed spinach. It could have used a bit more seasoning, but once I added salt and pepper it tasted fine. The pasta I ordered with mushroom and shrimp was homemade and the texture was perfect. The sauce was delicious and the shrimp were cooked well. The complementary bread was warm and full of garlic and herbs. Attended a family Confirmation event this past weekend at Savelli and I must say that the food and service far surpassed our expectations. The staff at Savelli was highly professional and attentive the guests' needs. We went to an early show nearby & wanted a quick dinner, so we scanned Yelp for spots closest to us, and Savelli's was a great find! Staff was sweet & friendly, and it is such a big space w a pretty backyard! We sat immediately & got served warm strips of delicious bread, which we finished straight away.We didn't drink, having just come from a bar, but we ordered food which came pretty quickly. We got the watermelon salad (so refreshing!), and the fried calamari (perfectly fried). To share, we got a 29 inch pizza, and props to our server for letting us know it feed three people, because we had no idea how big it would be. So filling, and great leftovers. I'm a bit hesitant to let the word out on how good Savelli is. They're brand new to the neighborhood and today was the first day of serving brunch (on a Saturday too!). Savelli is an adorable family owned business (authentic Italian) that catches your eye from the outside due to its rustic and quaint ambience. The space is quite large with the option to dine sidewalk, backyard or indoor. Because of Covid-19, I am too uncomfortable to dine indoors anywhere. We arrived at 2 p.m. and it was empty with the exception of a few patrons settled in the backyard patio area. The weather was still beautiful for dining outside; we took a table right near the front entrance. Our waiter was Rafael who was extremely friendly and attentive. Although pizza makes up a large part of the menu and I truly love it, I craved eggs today. We started off with complimentary focaccia--3 sticks infused with olive oil and herbs served in a basket. Very good. I also noticed a chalkboard sign offering Sangria HH special at $8 all day. As far as drinks, we settled on hot coffee. I am quite picky when it comes to coffee, but theirs was like no other. It almost tasted like an espresso/cappuccino and was very delicious. There were no free refills, but I was given a complimentary second cup. Thank you, Rafael! For entrée, we both selected the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon served with a side salad and home fries. It arrived shortly after placing our order and was extremely good. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the cubed hash browns and salad was a great complement. The waiter brought over chili infused olive oil which I drizzled over the eggs. Divine. I found the portion ($14) to be quite satisfying and filling. The entire meal was a wonderful Saturday afternoon brunch treat. I am looking forward to returning and will try their pizza. Savelli is a new addition in Smith street restaurant row, we meant to dine here since they open because it was only a block away from us, well last night was that night. They were packed when we arrived and yet considering the current restaurant situation but we were still able to snag a table for two at the backyard. The service here is fast but we did not feel that we were being rushed. We ordered a bottle of Montepulciano with a complementary focaccia with olive oil and herbs, I should say that the bread is good specially if one is slightly famished! In fact it was so that good that we asked for two servings!. We then ordered calamari friti served with hot marinara sauce, followed by shared Rigatoni Bolognese served with traditional Bolognese meat sauce and peas and their very own Savelli pizza with buffalo mozzarella, sausage, artichokes, mushrooms, basil and extra virgin olive oil. The dishes came one after the other and they were both freshly cooked and delicious. It's a beautiful restaurant with high ceilings, brick walls and ornate finishes. But they really kill the mood by playing loud, clubby music. I wish they'd play Italian music or at the very least, turn down the top 40's so it's not blaring. The food varies. My boyfriend swears by the pollo al limone -- he would it eat every day if he could. I've had the insalata cesar a couple times and the dressing is awful. This was our second time hosting an event here, and again the manager and staff went above and beyond to ensure that our party was running smoothly, and that our guest were well taken care of. The cozy downstairs was the perfect setting for our event. The dedicated staff members were attentive, friendly and wonderful with our guests. When it came to the food, they out did themselves. The fried calamari was perfectly cooked, and remained crispy, the octopus salad was a HUGE hit, and the pizza spoke for itself. The entrees did not disappoint either. My dinner at Savelli was better than average, and the restaurant was better than I expected. If you love seafood then this is a must visit. I ordered Mussels a la Marinara and they were fabulous. I've been wanting to try Savelli for a little while now and had the opportunity to book a reservation the second weekend of indoor dining! I went with a group of 6 and knew exactly what I wanted to order, as I was drooling over the menu all day at work. Upon arriving they checked our temperatures and provided hand sanitizer. The atmosphere was beautiful and the restaurant was clean! We were quickly seated at our table and were greeted with waters and focaccia bread. (The waitstaff was super attentive and we hardly had to ask for anything!) The menu was a digital menu (barcode scan), which I thought was a cool idea for COVID times. We felt very comfortable dining indoors at Savelli. For appetizers we ordered the arancini, fried calamari, grilled octopus, prosciutto with burrata, cold antipasto (cheese/meats/olives), and the zucchini and parmesan soufflé with cheese fondue. We devoured everything pretty quickly and it did not disappoint! After our appetizers we ordered the 29" margherita pizza (topped with artichokes, mushrooms, half pepperoni) and a 12" gluten free eggplant and zucchini pie. The pizza was outrageous! The sauce, the cheese, THE DOUGH! This is a MUST HAVE at Savelli! While we worked on our pizza, we placed our entrée orders (there's always room for more food)! The wait between the pizza and entrées was perfect, we weren't rushed and it gave us time to digest all of our food. For entrées we had the capellini primavera, orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage, spaghetti marechiara (don savelli), mushroom ravioli in a black truffle cream sauce, cod fish, and a bianca 12" pie. Three words , TO. DIE FOR. We cannot wait to go back to try more, and reorder our favorites! We ended the night off with shared desserts, chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream, banana brûlée, and cappuccinos. Their outdoor garden is beautiful and I'm so glad they have one because their food is definitely worth the wait! Really enjoyed the calamari with sweet chili sauce and the sweet diavola pizza! 4.5/5 i had indoor dining here a few wks ago when it was still open. This spot has amazing ambiance. They also have a back area that opens up from the roof top. The mgmt is very attentive to its customers. I wish they were a bit more covid friendly like staff wearing gloves. But everyone who was serving was wearing masks at least. Food was delicious - I recommend any of the pizzas, they have a brick oven and they were easily devoured. We also got the meatballs (they're pretty big ones) and I'd totally go back for those. Burrata was ok, could've been saltier I think. Seafood platter was bomb - so fresh. Drinks were good. I'm a sucker for margs so I got the spicy tequila margarita. Yum Yum YUM! Starting with the terrific sliced up little slices of focaccia, I knew this was going to be a hit. The prosciutto and burrata was just perfect because the prosciutto was lean, beautifully sliced and nicely salty. Some of the best stuff I have had in a looong time. The arancini was a pillowy and gooey-ish morsel of love: so good with our prosecco. I had the pappardelle bolognese and it was pretty good, but just a wee bit under seasoned. A bit of salt and parmesan took care of that easily. I could those freshly made noodles every day with just a little butter and salt. The profiteroles disappeared in a blink of the eye, sooo good: light, sweet, not too big. The lava cake was fine, but gimme more profiteroles. Note: the tables are roomy enough but the backs of chairs are very close; prepare yourself for some squeezing to get away from the table. read more
