Love the ambiance. It feels like it's 1905. Cozy vibes and a heavy front door to keep out the cold and rainy night. Great selection of wine and wine cocktails. The Apple Brie walnut crostinis were really good. The bread didn't look that great but looks were deceiving. The only thing I didn't like was the service was very European. Get there early for a table b/c they do not take reservations.

Would love to keep this gem to myself but sharing is caring. Black Mountain is cozy--think fireplace, dimly lit, walls lined with bottles of wine. They've been around for years but I've only recently discovered it and have been twice, enjoying each visit. I've sampled the cheese plate and ordered the truffle oil Mac and cheese both times. The Mac and cheese is light on the truffle flavor and could use a sharper cheese for more of a kick imo. The mulled wine is my go to for the season. It's just the right amount of warm, sweet and spiced for wintry evenings. My favorite part is the wine prices are accessible in a city where an average glass of wine runs around $16. Stop in, cozy up next the fireplace and enjoy.

If only I lived closer, this would definitely be my go-to wine spot. The selections are amazing - so many different varieties to try. They also have a good selection of meat and cheese boards.

I'm surprised that I hadn't written a review for this place yet. This has always been a solid go-to spot for hangouts in the neighborhood. It's an all-purpose place - good for groups or as couples. The vibes are amazing, especially when the weather is nice and can sit outside - but it's also a nice hideaway indoors in inclement weather. On cold days, they have a cozy fireplace inside and a fire pit outside. I've had nothing but the friendliest of service here - great selection of wines, and the food/snacks are actually a bit underrated in my opinion. I've had many memorable moments at Black Mountain - days that have started here, and nights that have ended here. I've since moved away from the neighborhood, but Black Hole will always have a special place in my heart.

Cozy is the word most used when describing Black Mountain Wine House and it describes it perfectly. They do not accept reservations, but we were fortunate to get seated right away. The restaurant is small , and on a cold evening the warmth of the fireplace was welcomed. As expected they have an extensive wine menu, along with some beers and even a cider, which is what I opted for. They have a variety of small plates, and our server offered suggestions for how many we should order, he suggested 3 items and we went with 4. We has the salted cod and artichoke . This would not be something I would normally order, but according to yelp reviews it was supposed to be excellent and it was. The cod was not too salty, but blended well with artichoke and was perfect with warm bread. We also ordered brie and apple crostini from their specials. The apples were crisp ands sweet to compliment the brie. Even though yelp reviews were mixed we also had the goat cheese tart . I liked the beets and potato crust. Lastly we had the house panini, which we did not finish, even though it was very good, it was filling with mortadella, polish bacon and apricot aioli. Service was excellent, and did not rush even though there were several parties waiting when we left. We felt as if we were in a welcoming cabin.... in the middle of Brooklyn.

Cute place, small and loud but weirdly romantic at the same time. Food was priced the same as the quality. Wasn't bad at all but wasn't the best either. Drinks a little overpriced. The one dessert item on their menu was really good. Service is eh, really slow and not attentive. I asked for a dessert menu and instead just got the 1 dessert they had served to the table without telling me what it was, just gave it to me.

This place is so cute and cozy, wish I checked it out sooner. They have a fireplace that is so warm and nice with a red glass of wine. They specialize in wines but have beer and small bites as well. Ordered the Mac and cheese and charcuterie, both were delicious. They do get packed though, went at 4pm thinking it would be empty since they just opened but it was crowded. Great date spot or place to enjoy a glass of wine alone with a good book.

Overall rating: 4.4 I came here in mid September after getting served a TikTok about how cozy & good the the mulled wine is from an influencer I follow. When I went, it was clearly still warm but it was a lot smaller and less cozy than I was expecting. Fortunately with just a walk-in, my friend and I got the last seat. We ended up sharing a panini which was a great portion, but when asked about the mulled wine or timing - the waitress couldn't say. She couldn't even give me a month. Inside, it felt more crowded and claustrophobia over warm and cozy. If you're the owner reading this, could you tell me when you start so I can try again? I think this is more of a neighborhood local bar than anything. I'm not sure if I'd be willing to travel here if I didn't have a hook.

Black Mountain Wine House in Boerum Hill is a cozy, fireplace-accented neighborhood wine bar. We went for dinner and had a bottle of a recommended Slovenian white white alongside creamy mac and cheese, charcuterie plate, goat cheese tart, salt cod and artichoke dip, B.L.A.T, meatballs, roasted tomatoes and their warm, chocolate bread pudding. We love this spot for their stellar small plates and well-curated wine list. This is definitely an ideal place for a romantic date

Hmmmm. I think you might want to reconsider that no booking policy. Waiting an hour for a seat in freezing temps? You've gotta be kidding.

The scallop dish was quite small so not the best for sharing but the rest were all amazing. From the regular menu we got the mushroom toast which was absolutely delicious and great for sharing and the pork chop which is one of the best dishes I have ever had. Tasty cocktails but I do wish they had more options on the menu -- there are only 3 cocktails to order from. Half chicken with scallion ginger sauce was pricey for the portion size with no sides but perfectly cooked and seasoned. Chocolate dessert was also fantastic!

Everything on the menu looked amazing, so I had the waiter choose my dish/wine pairing and he did a great job! I got the pesto with shrimp. The pasta is handmade and the wine is natural from Italy. The food here is delicious and I was happy to see gluten free pasta options. The pork ragu was good but I was truly impressed by how good the texture of the gluten free pasta was. For me, the show stopper was the branzino. It was seasoned perfectly and the potato crust was a fun touch. The salad was nice and simple, but didn't blow me away. Portion sizes were good, though the prices are on the higher side. The restaurant is a great place for a friends' night or date night, and I'd keep the group small or make a reservation in advanced because it gets busy. It is definitely a more expensive spot, but worth it!
