Full bar with three frozen drink machines. No whiskeys caught my attention. Almost all the beers on draft were macros with the exception of Other Half Green City with is OH's largest scale offering. Just three wines by the glass - a Malbec, a Prosecco, and I believe a Cabernet. Service at the bar was super quick. I had a hot cider cocktail. Long counter stretching for most of the bar. You know why I love this place? It's because they had thee best Brooklyn spin on the mandate for food and drinks. As y'all know, many of our favorite bars never served food. Which means some of these places may not have a functioning kitchen for food prep or even have the money for a chef. This bars wonderful food selection was cup-a-noodle soup (they provide the lovely hot water) and a corndog. I laughed as I ordered my Old Fashion at how divey and Brooklyn those options were. Went to The Holler on Tuesday night for trivia. Great and affordable drinks in a lively atmosphere, made for an excellent time. Quality: The Holler served up one of the best Frozen Pina Coladas I have ever had. I was not quite as excited about the Frozen Lemonade, but it was still pretty good. So often the machine frozen drinks taste watery or like too much syrup, the drinks here were strong and tasty. Add that to fun vibes and even a hot dog if you are hungry, and you get a great spot for a trivia night. Quantity: Ordered the smaller size, because even though they come out of a machine they hit hard. Value: $9 for Frozen Drinks. Ambiance: The Holler is a cocktail bar located in Clinton Hill. Not sure if officially or unofficially a gay bar, but it is filled with flashy decor and bright neon lights. They have some booths near the front, a good sized bar, a unique enclosed table, a small stage, and a large back patio. The music was loud pop and dance, but it stopped for trivia. The Holler has dive-bar vibes from the front, but has outfitted the backyard to be a COVID-friendly spot for outdoor drinks! There is strict adherence to social distancing protocol, with an indoor layout of how/where to walk to ensure a safe flow of people, and great spacing with the outdoor tables. All of the tables were outfitted with space heaters to make sitting by them enjoyable even as it gets colder. The drinks were phenomenal -- they had very well-priced house wines and beer, and had a short list of seasonal cocktails that could be ordered in different sizes. I had the Fall Fashionista -- whiskey, chai liqueur, blood orange liqueur, bitters, and a maraschino cherry. It was perfectly autumnal, and not too sweet. It's easy to pass The Holler by on the street, but its definitely worth stopping in for a drink! read more

Man o-man stay away from the frozen drinks man (i'm being facetious). The frozen drinks are amazing! The Pina Colada and Passion Fruit are made out of 151 and the High Octane is made out of ever clear. I ordered 2 Pina colada's (one small and then large) and let's just say I had a great night when I went home if you know what I mean lol. We visited this bar on a Tuesday- very empty yet sometimes I enjoy empty bars. The music selection was eh- no rap/hip hop played but I was there primarily to get f***ed up so who cares for the music. Marcus was our bartender and he was so personable. I definitely enjoyed his energy. They also have little games like uno, connect four, jenga and such but my date and I just went there for the drinks. This will probably become my new Monday night spot. Fun filled bar it's like cheers everyone knows everyone but not only that everyone is so friendly and sweet. Drinks are reasonably priced and so delish. They have frozen drinks for the win and don't be fooled it's worth it. They're strong but not overpowering. I say Monday nights will be night to go because they have drag queen bingo which was super fun. They also have trivia Tuesday as well on Tuesday so I may come back for that too. Eat before u come this is a bar bar so no food but tasty chips behind the bar. Also there are games such as connect four uno scrabble u name it. Was visiting a friend who lives nearby and she took me to this place and I loved it! It's the perfect "cute" and "girly" bar without being overly cute or girly. The drink names are hilarious and everything is pretty fairly priced. Also, they're frozen daiquiris are delicious and strong! The decor is nice and they have a great patio out back. Honestly pretty uncomfy with the experience i had. I came for a halloween pumpkin carving event which i found from a flyer advertised by Ig. I shared it on a google doc of events on lex which may have helped get them business. I walked in asking about the pumpkins and the first thing the bar tender said was "first you buy a drink, then you get a pumpkin". Obviously i want to support the establishment, but it was not listed on the flyer that you got a pumpkin with the purchase of a drink and i highly recommend making that clear. Then we had to wait forever to order our drinks when it wasn't busy. After that my friend holds our drinks and i grab my friends pumpkin and mine and one for my partner who was supposed to come join us. The bar tender yells at me for taking too many pumpkins from the counter. Then I go outside to find a spot to sit at and they're all dirty so i go to clean up myself and throw out a glove and again the bartender who at this point felt like they were checking up on me, came and told me i couldn't throw my garbage in there without explaining it was that it was recycling. I was looking for a new queer bar to go to but i'm very disappointed with my experience and wouldn't recommend it to a friend. read more

A new neighborhood bar; a friend invited me here after work one day and I had no expectations but was definitely impressed! I loved that the outside is somewhat covert, and I love the New Orleans theme and essence to it. It was a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't crowded and I arrived before my friend. Bartender Sarah was super sweet and chatted just enough to not make it feel forced or distant (not an easy thing to do). There are great cocktail options (mezcal!) and a solid draft list too. Also, frozen drinks if you are into the sweet stuff. I wish there was a better happy hour deal ($1 off drafts & frozen drinks) that included at least one of the cocktails. But I brought my gf back here for a pre dinner drink on Friday night because I enjoyed it. She may have been annoyed because my friend didn't have a card on file, but we're there to buy f#ing drinks! You don't need to kiss his butt, but treat him with respect! I have lived 1 block away from this establishment for 10yrs & my wife even had a bday party there a few yrs ago when it was called "One Last Shag" but this is NOT a place where I will be going to again due to the treatment we received. At the end of my night, I went to close out and found that they had handed my card to a complete stranger. I asked what what the plan was, given the situation, and the bartender said "I don't know, this has never happened before", then asked if I would like the other customer's card instead. Are you kidding me? Obviously no, I would not like to take someone else's credit card. The bartender took down my information, then told me he'd comp a couple of drinks for the inconvenience of them giving a stranger my card (how generous). The next day I called when they opened to see if my card had been returned. It had not, so I asked that the manager call me back as soon as possible so we could discuss what happened. At this point, a stranger had been in possession of my credit card for almost a day so I called the bank, cancelled the card, and had a new one sent to me. Later in the evening, I got a call from a bartender saying that my card had been brought back. I said I already canceled my card, but still needed to speak to the manager about the charges on the card. The bartender said all of the charges on my cards would be charged back to me. I took this to mean both the incorrect charge on the credit card, as well as a charge back on my bill (as an act of customer service due to the nature of the situation). It wasn't until the following day I finally received a call back from the manager, Nicole, who hastly apologized and said they were charging back the credit card, but didn't mention anything about charging back my bill. I can't demand that my bill be free, but due to the phone conversation with the bartender the night before, I called back to see if that also included the charges on my bill. She seemed flustered by the question but said she would check with the bartender who spoke with me and get back to me. That was over a week ago and she has yet to call me back. Again, obviously I have no right to demand that my bill be free, but due to the phone conversation I had with the bartender and the nature of the situation, I would want her to at the very least follow up with me about it like she said she would. Due to what happened, how it was handled, how long it took the manager to initially respond to me, and then completely fail to get back to me afterwards, I cannot recommend this bar to another person nor ever plan to return. It's unfortunate because my friends and I really enjoy discovering new bars in the neighborhood, but this place will most definitely not be receiving any future business from us. read more
