If I had been hungry, I would've love to order some dishes too. Really appreciated the interior too. This place is transplant central! First, we were the only black and Latino in the bar, did not get service until we sat closer to where the bartender was yapping with his friends. We were not checked on at all and had to call for them for our 2nd drinks. But the cringiest part was when the out of town bartender "yerrr" at 2 yt transplants coming in.... Yea the atmosphere does not scream people of color are welcomed here. Go next door to the Mexican spot. read more

Cool ambience but it's a hit or miss. If you get the right bartender, the service is friendly and the drinks are great. Walk in on the wrong night, even the crispy quesadilla is lousy. If the service and food was more consistent, I would give it a higher rating. read more

Overall rating: 4.3 I'v been here a year prior & wow things have changed. I went for a small concert and the back doesn't even look like it used to. The drink prices are really nice but getting food during a concert is hard. They are selective on if and when they provide food to the back. The drinks are good but I'm not sure if I'd go out of my way. I waited over 40 minutes for a quesadilla which is a hard sell for me. Not sure if I'd be back. read more

The drinks are amazing, kyle the bartender is awesome, he's so friendly cool and chill, and it's always a great date spot, however, when they have music shows or DJ shows in the back, the crowd can be very different. definitely a Hidden gem, that you should check out. cool vibe, chill crowd, and ask for Kyle! he's got long hair and beautiful blue eyes, and he makes the best drink..... I've walked past Sleepwalk a few times (not realizing it) but recently ended up there to catch a few DJs. The back room was small/intimate, luckily it wasn't super packed so we still had plenty of room to dance and the DJs crushed it. Cool space! read more

Such a great experience here! I came for my friend Michael's show and the place was on fire! The feeling of community was fabulous. Strong recommendation for the service, I had Kyle serve me a mean daiquiri and I didn't wait have to wait even tho it was busy. His scruffy persona fits the vibes perfectly and he even shared his pickles with me which I thought was lovely. (And woah Nelly is he attractive) Will be back just for the great conversation! Came here on a Monday for their Happy Hour and was not disappointed. The bar is aesthetically pleasing with dim lights. The bartender was nice and service was fast. They offer "$2 off Everything". For drinks I got a Smoky Paloma, wasn't very spicy but good nonetheless. They have many fun speciality cocktails. When you enter the sultry and subtly lit interior of Sleepwalk, you can feel transported to 1920s Shanghai, with a touch of Brooklyn edge-- exactly their vision when the owners opened the space a couple years ago now. This bar fits right into the East Williamsburg cocktail scene, equal parts elegant and raucous (on the right nights). I've spent many a night curled up in one of their banquettes with my favorite drink on their menu, the Day Dreamer, made with a delicious wasabi salt rim. I love the evocative art and lighting, which set a very sexy mood in the bar, particularly in the back room. On many nights they host DJs, and there's plenty of room to dance. I have yet to visit their backroom that has a stage, where they host events like podcast nights, comedy shows, and burlesque performances. I'll have to come back for a show and their wonderful happy hour, where they knock $2 off any drink. Whether you're a nighthawk or a daydreamer, Sleepwalk is a special place to bring a date or group of friends-- I've done both and had a lovely time. read more

This is the place to go to. Sometimes, it's better with the lights off. Sai was an incredible bartender. They were fast, knowledgeable, and very hospitable. Eyeliner skills, uncanny and welcome. Hank was very kind and polite. Great staff, good location, and fantastic drinks. I would recommend over other local fare. Espresso martini on draft was better than expected. The cocktails are affordable and great plays on expected offers. Lastly, the doorman/security were discreet and professional. 10/10. read more

We were in NY for the weekend and I saw that they were having a cool, live music production so I made reservations and went. Upon entering it's a small bar up front and when you head towards the back there's a private room where they have the shows. It doesn't fit much people so I'd say get there early. Luckily it never got packed to the point where it was out of control or uncomfortable. They had unique live bands performing. The first girl was more rock and the second act was more r&b soul. The Chinese bartender was extremely rude to us. When I asked him about the drinks he just threw a menu at me. Then repeatedly barked at us "what you want?" . I ended up with the wrong beer. It wasn't even beer, it was a "refresher". The other bartender fixed it for us. A nice normal girl. The whole group ordered only from her. I don't understand what such rude person is doing behind the bar. He did not once smiled, wasn't polite, wasn't helpful. He was furious being there. Definitely for fire. The place is okay they have concerts in the back. If it wasn't for that guy probably would be a nice ambience. read more

Impromptu visit as it was literally in close to/next to the place that I initially was checking out. What a great find! I love the vibes in this place. The decor and aesthetics are sexy and it can really be a good draw for those who wants a nice place for date night on slower nights. For more livelier/party forward nights which I presume would be weekends, this place can serve as a nice place to grab tasty cocktails and/or for nightcaps if you live in the area. Even if you don't live in the area, I think it would still be a nice place to visit on a night out in Brooklyn. It could very well be a very popular place if it isn't one already. The drinks - Night Swimmer - this cocktail was on the sweeter side which is fine because I do actually like some cocktails like that. The coconut rum and prickly pear is prominent in flavors. Came here on a date. I liked the music and dim lighting for that vibe. I just got a miller high life which I think was the cheapest thing on the menu for $5 and my suitor got a martini. He said he's there all the time and they have good martinis. I wish I got a cocktail because that's more the vibe than beer, but my stomach hurt a little so I didn't really want to drink much. I expect 3 things when I walk into a bar: cool bartenders, good music, and a "vibe." Now please note, I am not talking about the vibe of overpriced "clubs" that you get in Meatpacking and in Williamsburg, with posers who do not understand how to have a good time and are carelessly spending money on overpriced, watered-down drinks and god-awful, too-loud music of the moment. This spot hits all three of my expectations - in spades. It stands out on a block of East Williamsburg where there is little nightlife, but this bar and cabaret would shine among even the best. I have been here three times since I officially moved out of NYC in 2017, and each time I have had a blast. I haven't had a chance to experience the burlesque events or the newly-opened cabaret in the back, but knowing the owners as I do, I am sure each element that they add to enhance the patronage experience will be met with sho-nuff entertainment. The DJs are always on point, and you can always expect a mixed crowd of folks who are just there to have a good time. Plus you have the added benefit of having the L-Montrose stop at the corner; such a convenience if you don't want to overpay for a car ride in Brooklyn or to Manhattan. From the owners of Nurse Betties on the Lower East side comes Sleepwalk. I've admittedly already been here a few times because my significant other comes in frequently. This space is pretty huge. Like ten times the size of Betties huge. Also, I really love the Asian Shanghai inspired decor. It's sultry and dark but there's something around every corner to admire and take in with the art pieces. Also, big important factor that blew me away is that the stools move here. Lol. I have not tried any of the cocktails yet. I suppose that should be a bucket list next time. They have a decent enough happy hour of everything being $2 off until 8pm. I have tried plenty of their beers, the sangria, and some kind of cucumber vodka special. I commend them for having a kcbc sour on draft for not an outrageous price. The Kirin is also a nice touch. All of the staff is super friendly. I believe there's a back room being built or it's in the process of being set up for live shows and more room for burlesque shows. I just came to this bar for a friends birthday party.. Let me tell you I was seriously impressed with this place from the moment that I walked in there.. The decor of the place reeks of coolness and fun vibes.. Comfortable front room nice bar and lots of places to sit with your friends.. Back area was a nice couch area where my friends birthday party was. The back area fit many people very comfortably. The bartender for the night a very cool hip guy who had ZERO attitude despite him reeking of being cool like a rock star. Drinks were easy to get as the bartender was on point in the way he dealt with all the customers. There are at least 2 other bars right on the same street which one of them I wasn't impressed with at all and a delicious fresh homemade tasting Mexican place a few doors down.. Just what you need to end or start your night here at Sleepwalk.. With all things said is now my go to place when I'm in that area!!! read more

We went on a Friday night after work. There was only one bartender working, which was ok for a bit but after a while the wait time for drinks got really long. Drinks are on the pricey side, even with the happy hour. Food was below average. Very long wait. It was very loud, and the music was all over the place.
