Folks were hanging out, definitely felt very neighborhoody which i love. They have a menu of solid drinks, and small bar bites. It's a spot that I assume many folks in the neighborhood consider home. I agree with another reviewer who said, "We've Got Company is the kind of bar you almost don't want to tell anyone about, but can't help raving about." First off, the bartenders here are so chill and real. Nothing pretentious about this place. Maybe this could be like the Williamsburg version of "Cheers," as this is definitely a place where neighborhood people come, rather than tourists or influencers. Yes, it was a Tuesday night, but I still get that vibe. And even for a Tuesday, it was not crowded AT ALL and they were still open until 2 AM! They have soooo many drinks and I am impressed by the number of cocktails they serve, and how different they all are. They have vodka, tequila, gin, whiskey, scotch, bourbon, rum, and any type of liquor you could think of. Made with flavors of sweet pepper, strawberry, vanilla, vermouth, cucumber, ginger, agave, and even apple cider vinegar. I had a few, and they were all stellar. The Swayze was not a drink I would normally try, but with that name and the interesting ingredient list (green chartreuse, suze, falernum, apple bitters, and sparkling wine)--had to try it. What a weird and delightful little drink! Another popular one that I liked was the Strawberry Letter (tequila, strawberry, habanero, agave, lemon). It was fruity, but not too sweet, and I think would please most anybody in your party. Even their sazerac was pretty damn good. No food outside of bar snacks here. Came on a casual Tuesday, the bar was 4 people as well as two bartenders and I'm assuming a coworker (They chatted the entire time and were eating outside food together at the bar?). The bar was pretty empty, asked for the one booth in the building and was told its reserved for large parties (at 8pm on a Tuesday) (not one customer came in after we did) Immediately after, I was rudely approached about my service animal, and after informing them it was a HYPOALLERGENIC service animal, was told "sorry our bartenders are allergic", stayed any way because my date picked the spot. Worst espresso martini I've ever had (coming from a former bartender) and the vibes were rancid, will not be coming back here. read more

My friends and I had a terrible experience at We Got Company in Brooklyn. One friend went inside first and was told the bar was "at capacity." But while she was outside explaining that to us, several white patrons were allowed in with no issue. When the rest of our group arrived (six of us total), we sat outside trying to figure out what to do. The bartender came out, said again they were "at capacity," and spoke to us aggressively. When my friend calmly asked why others were being let in, he responded, "You must not be told no often." It was clear the issue wasn't capacity, it was race. Other people of color who tried to enter were also turned away, while white customers were welcomed and served. This place was openly discriminatory and unwelcoming. In a neighborhood as diverse as Williamsburg, that's unacceptable. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

TLDR: a male bartender here called me a b**** and told me to get the f*** out after him and another male bartender were wildly rude and unprofessional to my group for an hour. i didn't believe the previous reviews about this and basically FAFO by going for a cocktail on my birthday. *full review* i popped in with a group to have a cocktail before a comedy show and turns out the joke was on us. i've never encountered more vile, bitter people than the male bartenders there. from the beginning the two acted like having 10 people ordering drinks in an otherwise empty bar was their absolute worst nightmare. with the older aged male: i've never had a worse encounter with such an unprofessional, madman of a bartender who's so dissatisfied with life that he has to take it out on his customers, particular the women. after a ridiculously unpleasant, unfriendly hour (wanted to finish my $20 cocktail before leaving), i asked for the check. we told them the amount of people who would be coming, asked if separate checks were possible as we were just doing one round here before leaving. the younger male and a woman confirmed that was all good and that they were keeping track (they force you to do sit down/table service anyway). however they immediately stopped coming up to get orders from us after a few people ordered and it was confusing because the bar was pretty empty otherwise, and again you're not allowed to order at the bar. i went to pay my bill, and the older bartender was weirdly angry about it. he said "your group has been confusing since the beginning and I'm worried about even getting paid now. you need everyone to come up to the bar right now to pay". i was confused because again, i had come to him to pay and it was fairly obvious we wanted to pay and leave. after dealing with patronizing and rude attitudes from several staff, i paid my bill, and didn't tip. when he saw no tip, he called me a b**** and told me to "get the **** out". when i asked he repeat what he called me, he lied and said he didn't say anything and to stop antagonizing him at his place of work. someone then put hands on us when he left. overall 0/10, the cocktails weren't even good enough to justify all this. the margaritas and mezcal cocktails were overly sweet with no real flavor. the silver lining is that i will never have to see this man again in my life. though he does have to live with himself and i cant imagine a more unpleasant existence read more

Went on a Friday around 8 or so and we just happened to walk in as a party was closing out and snagged a table. The interior is simple but quite cozy. The lighting is warm, and the bar is situated in the center with some tables by the outer walls. They post the menu outside which I really liked, and is rare for cocktail bars. Cocktails definitely are the focus here but they also have options for wine and beer. Very minimal snack menu. Loved my cocktail, though in my typical fashion I was one and done, preferring to move to beer/wine for my next beverage. The cocktails here are on the smaller side I noticed. Sometimes I walk past a place and know I have to go in, even without checking the Yelp reviews. One glance at the pitch dark interior and I was sold. It's just the intimate space that I'm always looking for. Luckily we were able to be seated inside because although their outdoor seating is plentiful, I wanted to be ensconced inside the womb of We Got Company. Like anywhere else, you must order some kind of food and the nuts do not count, but the olives do. Shrug. Those were the only two vegan options. Food was not on the brain. Those cocktails though! A CLOVE daiquiri?! Sign me up. Admittedly, I didn't taste cloves (which I feel some people might think too overpowering), but this daiquiri is divine, not excessively sweet like many daiquiris can be. Super refreshing! I kept marveling over the scent of fresh citrus and then realized it was coming from my guy's drink: Gimme the Sun. With one sip of that, I knew what I would be ordering next, as good as the daiquiri is. The smokiness of mezcal is tempered with the fresh grapefruit bitters. It's such an incredibly unique cocktail. I observed the bartender mixing each drink expertly with so much loving attention and it truly shows in both the presentation and quality of the cocktails. I love that this place still seems like a secret, too. One of the most overused expressions on Yelp surely is hidden gem. In this case, that expression is valid, but let's be more specific and say that I feel like I've discovered the rare black opal of bars. read more

My friend who hung out with me, she is also bartender so she saw when one of bartender mixed drink for me and just let ice melted there without taking the water out so my drink had been diluted. Brooklyn has no shortage of cool cocktail bars, that's for sure. I was staying in Williamsburg for a few days during my trip to NY and a local friend recommended this spot to grab a few beverages. Upon walking in, it took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust transitioning from the bright outdoors to the dark interiors. We sat up at a hightop table right next to the bar, making it just in time for happy hour. It was pretty empty when we came in and there was one bartender taking orders from the entire bar at the time. She came over, explained the menu, and let us know about the happy hour deals. I saw that old fashioneds were on happy hour, so got that. My pal got the happy hour margaritas. We seemed to really love both because we got 5 more orders of each drink. By the time we left, the bar was packed! I was almost bummed to be moving on to the next bar. For 5 rounds of happy hour old fashioneds, I paid less than $40, which I thought was an amazing deal seeing as how cocktails usually run you $13+, especially in NYC.
