Left Hand Path - Bars Near Me - Bushwick, New York

Grabbed some drinks at Left Hand Path on Friday night. A decent spot to have a beer, but a few smaller issues led us to head out after a second pour. Quality: Had a beer and a Blood Orange Marg as we waited for friends to meet-up on Friday night. Casual and chill with a small, but solid beer list, and a few cocktails. They were still in winter mode with several hot drinks available. Quantity: No issues with size or strength of pours. Value: $6-$10 for Draft Beers. $10-$12 for Assorted Cocktails. Ambiance: Left Hand Path is a beer bar located in Bushwick. When you enter you are immediately met by a bar. It has unique wood walls and ceiling, not sure if it was meant to mirror a cask or a ship, but it was pretty cool. They had a small lounge room in the back, as well as a covered and heated outdoor area. The problem with the outdoor space is people would smoke and it would fill the area. Crowd: Busy on Friday night, multiple areas all filled up. Service: Fast bartenders, but needed some folks handling clean-up. Parking: Decent street parking nearby. read more

Really nice bar and good beer selection. But, they need to get the homeless situation under control. We had two interruptions by homeless people asking for money while at the back seat area that left a strong smell behind. read more

This "bartender" think her name is Megan takes forever for an order takes her time to take other customers drinks ! I like this bar but she makes it unwelcoming it I hope management see this review I want to comeback but man she makes it difficult read more

They are just the best. I love coming here on Sundays, they have an all-vinyl DJ. If you get to come here in the wintertime make sure to try the black lager. read more

Shhh! Don't tell, this is my fav neighborhood spot, lots of romantic first dates happening early in the evening but later on you'll have the place to yourself. Music is always perfect, there's open windows and a patio and the pre-mixed drinks are so yummy read more

I gotta say I was pretty impressed with the dumplings and I wonder if they make them in-house or pick them up somewhere. Normally places which don't cater to chinese people don't focus on boiled dumplings (which generally should be fresher than fried ones, where you can hide a little age) and their dumplings were quite quite tasty. Particularly the spicy beef. UPDATE: Checked their website which explains the dumplings. They're from Dumpling Galaxy in Flushing. A place I'm a huge fan of. read more

Great bartender. Esoteric beers, but told him what I liked and got a great beer. Opened late Sunday (6 PM?}, big loss. But great bar.

If you are in the hood and too tired for warehouse party, this place is great. They have delicious house piña colada's in the summer and house mulled wine in the winter, 2-3 cocktails on tap all year round. Bar tenders are fun and easy to talk to. It some times turn into a dance party on Friday nights. But for the most part it's a great place to nurse a whiskey after midnight with a friend or alone. This is my perfect neighborhood bar. read more

Really cool spot for day drinking. They're usually playing some kind of cool old country music like Porter Wagoner or something, the bartenders are chill and nice people. They have a small selection of good beers you might not find everywhere. The dumplings take forever but they're worth it. The decor is vintage and cozy, and the main room is built like the inside an old ship. At night though, it gets packed to the point of being obnoxious and you can't hear what the person next to you is saying. But good for them! Overall I highly recommend this place. read more

Whenever I walk into Left Hand Path I feel like I've been drunk for several happy, uninterrupted years though I know that I've been to my apartment, or else gone to work or even other bars. Each visit is nothing more than re-entry, but the imagined sensation of always having been at Left Hand Path mixed with the comforting practical knowledge of return; this must be the Path's best cocktail. It's subtle. What I'd like to be able to say is that I've established some roots in this bar, and as a fourth or fifth wave gentrifier I understand that's ridiculous to say, but whatever, it's how I feel. Nic shed the redundant letter "k" from the end of his name at some point in favor of it's current misspelling, and Nic's my main guy here. He's not a Nicole and he's not gay either, he just spells his name like that. I haven't bothered to learn the others' names, I guess, having been unable to get over the suave, severe poetry of spelling "Nick" without a "k." Anyway I like that guy a lot. I don't have to ask anymore, I just approach and he pours the drink like I like it and moves on to another patron, it's one of the most successful relationships of my life. When it's time to settle my tab, he writes the number down with pencil on a slip of paper and slides it across to me from his side of the bar. I wasn't always this enthusiastic about Left Hand Path. I remember the first time I went, I complained to my friend whom had dragged me in that it resembles the inside of a hunting club or fishing boat, the defining interior design trend for a generation, the look that's become so tiring if not oddly endemic to drinking in Brooklyn. However, the reclaimed wood paneling and antique brass wall sconces no longer annoyed me after I realized that Left Hand Path is the best bar in America. They have rosé on tap. Furthermore, you can smoke cigarettes on the patio out back next to a lawn gnome which was a gift from the owner's mother, I asked. Also you can order Chinese dumplings here which doesn't make any sense, but then again neither do most things in life, it's just nice to have a bar. read more

The dark and stormy is really awesome!!! I had the Floridita. The bitters adds a kick to the drink. The ambiance is dark but warm. They have the A/C kicking so that's a plus on these hot summer days. The bartender greeted us right away which is a plus in my book. Overall I like the place. They have a good happy hour specials which appeals to the work crowd in this area. I would definitely come back. read more

Good Beer list, Well designed, Backyard and one Of the better bartenders in the wick. read more

Really cozy and wonderful place with a neat backyard and perfect bar food. Had to dock them one star because their tables are wobbly and our drinks splashed all over the place. Also, the bartender had a shitty attitude, talked at us with his mouth full, AND made the worst Manhattan I've ever had. read more

Been coming to this place off and on since it opened, never disappointed. Bartenders are always very friendly and quick, even when they're crowded. Backyard area is cool, although some guy who lives one floor above the bar has a shower window looking out into the yard, so you can basically watch him showering, haha. Always a good rotating tap selection, and the bartenders are very knowledgable and will let you try stuff if it's not slammed. I'd recommend staying away from the cocktails...not very good and overpriced, but stay for the beer. read more

The bar was dimly Lot as strange looking vagrants and hipsters sauntered in and out of the vintage wood paneled bar between the back patio. After a a few shots of Campari and nice glass of shozu, the bartender inthink his name was nick offered to take me into the dumpling room to make out! Great bar read more

Nice decor. Patio out back. Good drink selection including a lot of craft beers. Couple of good wines, too. Cozy stools at the bar. Friendly staff. 2 cats frequent the back yard. read more

Tuesday night, pretty chill vibe in the bar. Met a friend there for a drink. Bartender was...so-so. He didn't listen when my friend said they didn't want another drink. Instead, he just brought out another draft and walked away. When asked about it, he pretended to not hear. Cool. Also, $12 for a subpar burger and a small bag of chips? Nope. I'm good, thanks. read more

Five dollar drafts til 8!! Pretty much a bar other than that. I like the decor and prefer going earlier when it's not super crowded because I am an old lady and like to sit down. read more

This place has way jacked up their prices, so I'm taking away one star. Drinks are still good, but damn. Like the R. Kelly artwork on the walls. Shows him as the pervert he really is. read more

Jesse the bartender here rocks! She's attentive, knowledgeable about the beers, and pours great cocktails. I love the atmosphere, it's kinda divey but kinda classy at the same time haha. If that makes sense. It feels homey and comfortable there. The happy hour specials are great, they have a solid deal for a beer + shot (see, like a dive bar right? haha). I'm definitely looking forward to coming back in the spring/summer when they have more going on out on their patio. The steamed dumplings here are delicious too! read more

Such a great bar! Drinks are wellmade, bartenders are always attentive, and the backyard is really beautiful. There are little grapes dangling romantically from a trellis. You can eat them. It's hard to find and $11 craft cocktail anywhere nowadays-nevermind in such a gorgeous atmostphere. Bring Yo' Dates! read more

This place rules, the bartender rules, the drinks rule, the stools rule, the service rules. My favorite place. This would be a 6 star review but the bartender saw me looking at other yelp reviews of this place. So he only gets 5. read more

Great neighborhood bar that serves great and affordable dumplings. Best eaten immediately, burning entire roof of mouth. Also great patio and back room read more

My favorite are in town. Bartenders are always friendly and the atmosphere is incredible. Drinks are good and at a very good price. Lighting is great. Super chill place. read more

Great vibe, seemed like a low key interesting place to hang out on a Thursday night. It is, but I am going against the general crowd and say the cocktails are not the best. I requested the bartender to make an off the menu gin cocktail.. which had some lime and bitters annnd that's exactly what I got. An overwhelming lime drink with bitters. The table also got a whiskey sour- judging by the crushed ice in the drink, it definitely was not the standard whiskey sour and neither was the taste. The place is great, not too sure about the Cocktails. Maybe it was just an off day. read more

This bar is hip and happening. Super chic crowd of cool Bushwickers in the know. The staff is helpful and smells fantastic. Usually pretty solid music, which is clutch. Cocktails at mad to your exact specification with a smile. Tits. It is not wheelchair accessible, which is great because it means I get to leave the old ball and chain at home. This is a non-smoking bar. read more

Solid neighborhood bar with stiff drinks and chill music. Bushwick could always use less hipsters, and I'm glad this place doesn't attract them in the dozens. Comfy bar stools, reasonable drink prices, and good craft beers on tap. My friend told me there was an outdoor patio area, but it was raining the night we went so I couldn't check it out. Wouldn't mind coming back if I were in the area again. read more

Definitely the kind of place you want to go if you don't want to fight for a drink or yell over loud music. I typically come here for date atmosphere or when I'm not in the mood for huge crowds. Which is not to say that this place is always empty, just a more mellow crowd. Outside seating is great for smokers as well as those trying to enjoy the weather. This is a place I like to linger. read more

New favorite bar in bushwick for a quiet happy evening. It has an older crowd (including me!) than most bars in the area. Playing non-stop 80s British indie music maybe helps keep it that way. The pixies made a brief appearance but the barman played whack-a-mole on the fast-forward button and Pulp saved us from american tunes. read more

Bearded short guy tried to challenge me by heavily interrogating me and my date whether or not our IDs were in fact real. They are. We are 26 and 28 years old. He could have scanned them but instead was really upset that we were confused by how skeptical he was. So lame. Very confused. We left because that guy was irrationally skeptical. Lol loser. I just wanted one glass of wine. Not the first time I've encountered an extremely rude bartender. Apparently they don't want business from their neighbors. read more

Love the bar but the bartender can die. He (tall guy with hippie hair) doesn't know the service dog rules and tried to kick my seizure dog out of the bar. Despite the great beer, I will NEVER go again. read more

Loved the interior. Good cocktails. Bartender so so. Left because we couldn't get her attention long enough to order food even though there were only about 7 people there. read more

I am so disappointed with this place. I came here with my roomate after shortly moving to Brooklyn. I am from NY and she is from NJ. We are both 25 and the bartender was so rude to her saying her ID was fake and she was willing to show other forms. When she told me this I was really upset at the way he treated her so I went up to him and tried to express how disappointed I was that this was happening and he just shot me down and said very rudely do you want to order another drink or what? We don't have time for this. I can't believe this place has as many stars as it does. read more

What a great neighborhood place! I came here on a Saturday at midnight, and there was plenty of room to sit and talk, while maintaining a lively atmosphere. The wood finishing and decorations made it both cozy and classy (classy cozy). Great draft list, although I stuck to wine. The bartender was really friendly and also quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend this bar for a great date spot or place to meet up with old friends. read more

cheap old fashioned, good beer selection, friendly bar staff. Great backyard. Chill vibe throughout the place.

I like this bar. Its cozy. It has a cool outdoor space for a small bar. Ive never had them, but they have dumplings! They have bulleit bourbon, so thats clutch. read more

Hands down now one of my favorite bars in Bushwick. After living in the area for 2 years and seeing bars open up and shut down. I will say Left Hand Path holds it's own with the amazing wood finishing inside to the cozy backyard, the craft beer (can never go wrong with Stone IPA on tap), and they also allow pets as well. read more
