Game room in the back - The image shows the interior of a bar with a game room area. Arcade machines with illuminated screens are positioned on the left side, while seating booths line the right wall. The floor is wooden, and the ceiling has a grid of fluorescent lights. Wall-mounted lamps provide additional lighting, and mirrors are hung on the walls. The space extends toward the back, where more seating and decor are visible.

Big fan of Birdy's! Birdy's is a dive bar under under the J / M train tracks, so it feels like a hidden gem hiding in plain sight. Inside they have booths, arcade games, and a Photo Booth, and outside they have 10 or so picnic tables. Service is pretty standard, but the best part is their happy hour (till 9pm). $2 off everything, so you can get a Bud Light and a Frozen Margarita for $11. Unheard of these days. Definitely recommend giving Birdy's a try next time you're looking for a cheap drink in the area.

it was super wet? - Six glasses containing various drinks with lemon or lime wedges and striped straws are arranged on a wooden table. One glass has ice and a lemon wedge, another has a lime wedge, and others contain different beverages. A small menu card is placed on the table, along with lemon peels and a cocktail pick. The table surface shows some drink spills and lemon remnants, indicating recent use. The background includes parts of people seated around the table.

Diving in Brooklyn Just a quick rant, first. There is NO reason for a bar or a restaurant that serves alcohol to be cash only in 2016. Like, who still carries cash nowadays? Ok, now that I have gotten that quick rant out of the way. This is a nice bar in the "heart" of Bushwick. The crowd is pretty much what you would expect of the new crop of Brooklynites. The bar is pretty standard with standard dive bar flair. It reminds me a bit of the lower east side before it became lame. The bartenders were nice and the service was fairly prompt for a Saturday evening. All and all, I'd come back again.

Birdy's, the name does not begin to describe what lies behind the corner door in Bushwick. This new bar staple is right by the J/M Myrtle/Broadway stop. The bar is your standard ode to the seventies bars. The bar has a Gene Simmons doll at the bar, pinball machines, glowing horse light, fussball table, Christmas lights and a bull skull. Birdy's is huge, a great place to keep in mind for large groups. There is a front bar with booth, then some funny two person table setting and then the large back room with the games. People took it upon themselves to christen the two tops for their spring fever! Lots of suck face. The music last night was just what I wanted and have forgotten about. They were playing Buzzcocks and Sham69. There's also a pretty good beer selection. They even had my favorite Bell's Two Hearted IPA. My friend called a cab at the end. It was going to be eight minutes..hmm not enough time for a beer and two much time for a shot. We got one cider and the bartender split it for us into two vintage chalices. Nice! Thanks to the co owners and band mates from the local goth band Weeknight, Holly MacGibbon and Andy Simmons for opening my new fave punk, watering hole. Bottoms up! Sidenote: there is a photobooth!

Funness - A blue cocktail served in a tall, stemmed glass with a red and white striped straw, lime wedge, and small paper umbrella. The drink is placed on a white napkin on a bar counter. In the background, there are bar shelves with bottles, a bar menu, and various decorations, including colorful string lights and a bust sculpture. The setting appears to be a lively bar or pub with eclectic decor.

The music is at a low enough volume that you can hear your conversations, it doesn't get too crowded so you can spread out, even if you're in a large group. Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

When we saw "Water Tower" on the elevator we decided to press it. SO GLAD WE DID. We landed at the Water Tower and walked into a fairly empty space decorated with art all the way to the ceiling, filled with natural light coming in and the views of the skyline were out of this world. We had to try their drinks of course to enjoy with the incredible view. Though the drinks are $21 and served in a plastic cup that evening, I was NOT expecting my drink to be this insanely delicious. I ordered the inferno Paloma which they infuse themselves with- and it was true perfection. By the way, each bar has their own menu which is pretty awesome and makes it even more fun. Also, Axel is the most incredible bartender and we absolutely loved his creations. Later that night we ordered a custom mandarin margarita, with a spicy twist, and WOW. He's truly talented and absolutely made us some awesome drinks that we can't stop talking about. Sunset with a view and a spicy mezcal drink? Yes and YES. We had this place all to ourselves and can't wait to be back. Friday nights they have DJ nights and you can also book the Water Tower for your own private events which is pretty cool!

We were in a sunlit room and it really set the mood. Our server was great, and we ordered family-style. Just a heads up, they have a separate "Sunday drunch" menu so options are a bit limited. For apps, we got the curry crab gyoza which was a very small portion (6/10) and the roasted mushroom truffle flatbread which was the highlight of the meal (8.5/10). For mains, we tried the biang biang Rasta noodles with salmon (6/10) and the sofrino roasted chicken (5/10). Both were a bit underwhelming. I've heard their drinks are great but we didn't try any. Food-wise, I was a little disappointed, but still had a great time catching up with friends.

The Sweet Potato Beignets with hot honey & parmesan were definitely interesting--sweet, savory, and a bit unexpected. Not my favorite item of the night, but still worth trying if you like unique flavor combos. The BK Sliders (3 pc) were solid: thick applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, Russian dressing, and pickle on mini brioche buns. Simple, satisfying, and nicely done. The real standout though was the Calamari with shichimi pepper, jalapeño, lime zest, and herbal dipping sauce--absolutely amazing. Crispy, flavorful, and the seasoning had just the right kick. I've never ate here, but I recommend grabbing drinks during the summer months when they open the canopy. It's a nice rooftop feel. It is too bad Yelp doesn't allow half stars as I would honestly put this one at a 3.5 and am rounding up. While the quality of the elevated seafood bites is immaculate, they are just that: a bite or two of food, for an elevated price considering the amount of food you get. After spending $76 a person, we were still hungry, whereas that amount would have been enough to feed two average women at another good restaurant. But if you go with an expense account or trust fund baby, definitely get the scallops and the yellowtail pastrami because those two items will blow your mind. Our waitress pointed these two out to us and we're grateful for her guidance because it was spot on. Paying for bread at a Solomonov joint is odd. No dessert menu is odder. Wheelchair access details: The bar is on a terrace. The accessible entrance is through the Hoxton hotel. A staff member will take you through the k'far kitchen and up via a service elevator. No barriers once you are upstairs and plenty of accessible outdoor and indoor/outdoor options, including a small length of wheelchair height bar. A perfectly functional though unexciting wheelchair accessible restroom is available.
