This was an amazing bar.. I came in on a early evening on a Monday and the bartender was just awesome. She reminded me of Siousie from Siousie and the Banshees... Chill extremely friendly and mixes excellent drinks with great service.. She works on a Friday night so I'll definitely be there with some friends then. read more

Cozy neighborhood bar. The backyard is cute and bartenders are super nice! Good spot for a first date or to hang with friends. Epic spot

I believe happy hour is a dollar off pretty much everything on the menu until 9pm. Which isn't a bad deal. You can get away with a $3 Miller High Life or Rolling Rock. Or you can go fancy and get a $6 pint on tap or real fancy with like a $10 cocktail or wine. Maybe their wells are around $4-5 as well but don't quote me on that. It's a very chill spot. Relaxing is a good word to go for it. I've been here a few times. Recently stepped in to kill time before the last yelp event I went to next door because it was frigid outside and I wasn't about to stand out in the cold. Bartenders have always been really nice. It's a black sleek bar with dim lighting and twinkly lights. Also, who doesn't love a late night happy hour? Footnote to keep in mind, they're cash only. read more

I got off a bad work shift and displaced my attitude towards the bartender who was doing nothing but abiding by these stupid covid rules. I bitched over not having a beer and threw a tantrum The pandemic turned me into my true form, a Karen. The bartender Cali was super nice snd friendly snd was probably dealing with Karens all night and here I go adding myself to the mix. **eye roll** This neighborhood is a bit weird now after all these years. But hey, cali and this place is still nice . read more

Great, low key vibes at this spot. Good drinks, friendly bartenders, good all around experience. Will be back!

A very chill, inexpensive bar in Bushwick, the entrance is so unnoticeable you might miss it, but they got a cute interior and a nice little backyard. My friend bartend's here sometimes, he makes smashing cocktails which are a must try. The only thing is, they are cash only so make sure to have cash with you before you go if you don't want to end up being charged extra on the atm next door. read more

Love this bar !!! You should definitely stop by if your in the area .cocktails are awesome. Cash only .

My local tiny watering hole. This bar is as real as it gets. No gimmicks, no flare. Not trying to impress anyone with bells and whistles. It's a bar and just a bar. But it's also so much more. It's the bar you want to go to alone after a bad day. Or the bar you want to crowd into with 30 of your friends after a show. Always playing good music or weird anime/horror movies on the TV. Bartenders are legendary. Try this place. You will not be let down. Ask for Jonny. read more

I always leave here with my two favorite boys, Ron C. and Sean. (This sounds kinky) And I always somehow leave here, hating my life the next morning. $6 dollar beer+shot special provided to you all night by the lovely, Anna. She's a rockstar. If you're looking for a chill bar in the neighborhood, I highly recommend this bar! read more

They say things get cheaper the further you get from the city. "They" are right. But it's not just the RENT, people. Drinks too! Take Post No Bills, for example. True, you can't put up your band's flyer on the wall. Sorry! But you CAN get a fancy cocktail for $8. Eight dollars! So they're about half the price as fancy Manhattan bars. But HERE'S THE CLINCHER--they're also TWICE THE SIZE. These are SUPERSIZED dranks people. Not like those mini cocktails you find at some Manhattan bars that leave you sober and wanting more. No, these cocktails will get you DRUNK. Which is a good thing when the bartenders are as nice as they are here, and the music is as rocking as you could hope for. I would say this is a good spot for a first date. IF, that is, your date happens to live within one or two L stops of this block. Otherwise, you'll raise an eyebrow by picking such a faraway locale. On the other hand, if things go swimmingly and the date ends up crashing at your Montrose pad, you can get DONUTS the next morning at Dun Well. Which would be a VERY GOOD decision. read more

I think there are at least 4 bars in this immediate area and Post No Bills hits a sweet spot between em'. The bartender last night (Sunday) was nice and explained some of the process happening behind the scenes. There isn't a happy hour - yet, and they are aware of the golden beer+shot combo that so many in the area use as a yardstick for local hang. While their current beer and well offerings are nice, they also expect to try pushing some simple cocktails; bear in mind, that doesn't mean some highfalutin mixologist club. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows into its own while keeping in line with the crew that always enjoy the neighboring Boulevard cafe. EDIT: I don't mean to change my opinion in the least BUT, I want to advise others .. DO. NOT. COME. on TUESDAYS & SUNDAYS. Those are the days when the best bartender GREG is on duty. He is too good at making you feel welcome, bridging groups, and getting you the drink you want. I don't want you five star followers coming in and taking up his time, he is a finite resource like oil, gas, and love. read more

I live about 3 blocks away from this place. Post No Bills is starting to become a regular go-to place now. I usually end up here after going to other bars in the area. (Tradesman and duckduck). I like how this place has really cheap drinks along with a chill mood. It's not loud and you can actually hear what your talking about. I always think it's good to end a night of drinking at a quiet place. They have good deals on beers and drinks. You can't beat the $6 Beer & shot combo which goes on all night. Anna, the awesome bartender is on her game. She always has a smile on her face and makes you feel welcome. If you want a place to unwind or get some alone time with your date... This is the place to go. read more

Great place right off Montrose. Bartender's are super friendly and play great music. Just a note, the yelp page is wrong...It's CASH ONLY. Theres an ATM around the corner so it's not an issue but just a heads up that they don't take cards. read more

I want to like it...I do...I've been a few times b/c it's literally around the corner from my friends apartment and what's better then a cool neighborhood bar AROUND THE CORNER?!?! Well, a bar that is fully stocked would be better...only visited this spot 2 or 3 times and each time they were out of typical bar type things. Hello, limes?! On my last visit they seemed to be better off (at least they had everything my drink required). The food they serve is small but solid bar bites. Strange playlist on the Macbook but that's changeable...isn't it? The girl bartender (I'm totally blanking on her name) is very sweet...makes good drinks and makes sure you're happy... The place in general is just a little oddly put together in my opinion...music, ambiance, food choices...I don't know if they are trying to hard or not hard enough. read more

This place is my local. And for good reason. When it's at its best, it's an unpretentious conversation bar. You wander down to meet a regular cast of characters (and characters they are) and bullshit around and drink cheap drinks and don't feel alone. That's not to say that new folks aren't welcome; it's the opposite. You walk into a place that doesn't feel atomized or inward bent. People want to talk to you. The music is pretty mellow and really changes with the personality of the bartender. 80's sad pop, Joy Division, et. al; T. Rex; 60's doo-wop; occasionally some Aaliya or TLC or something vaguely nostalgic but always fun to listen to. Sometimes people bring in CDs. The only problem is the space itself--it's wonderful and has a lot of opportunities for growth. But, it's often too dark. The wooden booths lack comfort. It just feels like the space hasn't grown into the personality that's already there. read more

I came here once for only 20 minutes, so I will give this place another chance and likely return. That being said, I will never forget the fact that, upon dropping my beer on the ground, it was I, and not anyone who works for PNB, who cleaned it up. Pretty sure the job description includes cleaning up messes. Not a way to treat a lady, Post No Bills. read more

Came here on Saturday night and it was surprisngly fairly empty so we got a table. We did the combo of beer + shot for 6 dollars and they have a couple of options for beer and we went with tecate. Standard dive bar, good jukebox music, good atmosphere. read more

Post is a hidden gem of a bar located right off the Montrose L. You can sit and have a beer or a kick ass cocktail while watch classic kungfu movie. It's atmosphere is low key and relaxing. Post No Bills is unpretentious, generously sized, with dim lighting and a nice wood-lined interior. Good drinks, nice staff, nothing too complicated. There are a few simple cocktails and plenty of beer. The music leans on the metal side, and there is plenty of space to sit and chat, even on weekends. That's all you really need. read more

TWO WORDS: SHRIMP COCKTAILS MF'er!!! One of the best shrimp cocktails i've had in bushwick/ east williamsburg. shrimp diablo was so-so, and the scampi was actually PHENOMENAL maybe the best i've had in new york! was going to take just one star off and give a 4 star because the really sweet arabic bartender poured me a shot of tequinta and I puked immediately, rigt away. but i took one more star off because these "fuck boys" kept on signing oi! rock anthems and clinking their beer bottles very loudly causeing an obnoxious scene, i heard one of them is a stunt man for living but sheesh i wish that sweet arabic bartender could have asked them to shut their hoots bc they really started to give me a headache between that and their cell phone flashes. i'm vegan read more

The newest of bars to pop up near the Montrose stop. I probably walked passed it a bunch of times and missed it. Nice atmosphere and soft lighting. Friendly bartender and reasonably priced drinks. This is an okay neighborhood spot. I haven't been on a weekend night, only after work occasionally because of it's prime location off the Montrose L stop. The outdoor area was a little buggy, but quiet relative to location. Because it's less popular, it's less crowded, and that, I enjoy. read more

I love coming to this bar after work for a quick drink. It's very low key (but not quite a dive bar) and the drinks are cheap. They have a few cocktails, but I'm not sure if you would call them their specialty. Their spicy pickle backs are amazing! Of course, they only take cash (as many bars in NYC/Brooklyn), but there is an ATM right around the corner. read more

Easily my favorite bar in the Montrose area. Solid, affordable cocktails. Clean, straightforward environment. The bartenders are sweet and usually play your cute run of the mill indie pop. Never too loud or too awkwardly quiet. Tons of seating and a nice backyard. Nice crowd, a healthy mix of unpretentious locals and kids from the band practice spaces up the street. Fast service despite the busy evenings. I did have to pee in the dark last night as the bathroom light was out but it was a fun adventure. read more

The perfect neighborhood bar! great place to stop in after work for a quick drink... although you'll probably end up staying for more. All of the bartenders are friendly and the happy hour specials are cheap! it's also a good bar to meet new friends the music is always good and different but quiet enough that you can have a conversation. Great specialty cocktails as well- try the cucumber jalapeño margarita. they also have a SPICY pickleback which is a tasty twist on a Brooklyn Classic. the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable.. not trying to hard like some other bars in Williamsburg. My favorite bar in the neighborhood hands down! read more

Loved this bar while living in the neighborhood. Awesome place to go relax. Great vibe in the place. Saleem is an excellent bartender, always good for a chat. All the other staff are awesome too. Their back area is a great place to relax especially at night with the pixie lights on. Great prices and drinks! One of the best places in New York to get away from it all and just chill out with mates and friendly bartenders. read more

this place is also my local go to bar! i've made a lot of friends here with both staff and customers, and i always end up having a good time talking to new people. it's one of the only bars on the quieter more conversation oriented bars in the neighborhood, so you don't feel like you have to scream to talk to your friends. always good music playing, not too expensive, and i can't wait till they open the backyard! it really compliments its sister cafe, boulevard. i always bring my friends here when they visit as well. i also really enjoy their new bar food menu too- which is actually good, not just crappy fried food. i think i've tried everything but the hot dogs. - they have a TV but it's generally reserved for silenced funny background TV stuff that anna plays, like old kung fu movies (i'm all about it, anna!) or sunday sports. read more
