First time here and the food was good. The hosts and our waiter were very good and attentive. From the Lemon drop to the Plantini drink we're very good. I had the jerk wings with the sauce on the side and the Curry Crab Goyza which was pretty good. And for my main dish I had the pumpkin infused pancakes with chicken and my friend she ahd the coconut rice with oxtail gravy amd her drink was the Painkiller. She had a little upset stomach from mixing the drink with the crab goyza because of the creams but our waiter brought her a drink that immediately stopped whatever was going on. The only thing I did not like is the seating. I dont like to have a bunch of people all around me I just wished they had real booths for people. I would go back but be at the bar especially since the next time I would be by myself. Overall it's a must go for me.

I went with a party of 9. They accommodated us in a nice way. Very friendly staff. The old mountain Sauvignon blanc bottle was a good choice. It was shared amongst four people for $60. Caribbean Spiced Lamb - very delicious. The waiter said it was four pieces and comes with an egg on top. In actuality, it only came in 3 pieces and no egg on top. I feel like it should've came in 4 pieces as stated. The waiter wasn't accurate with his detail. Biang Biang Rasta Noodles - we added salmon on one and shrimps on another. The noodles did not need any proteins! The salmon was tough and the shrimp did not go well with it. Order the noodles just by itself. It will taste better. Crispy Crab Rice - very good. Curry Crab Gyoza - sauce was amazing. We saved the sauce for our next meal. Shrimp Tempura Bao Bao - was okay. Two small buns. Yardie Shrimp Flatbread - it was alright. The greens didn't pair well with it. Jerk Infused Wings - nice and saucy Standard birthday vanilla ice cream desert - kind of them to bring out for the birthday lady. Street parking. Bathrooms are a stairway downstairs. Note: 20% gratuity automatically added for a party of 2 or more.

Kokomo had the perfect vibe. Chill, grown, dim, and just the right energy. The music was on point, and the service was good and very personable. We ordered the oxtail, curry shrimp, a burger, and the koko pasta flatbread. Now I would never normally order a pasta flatbread because it feels comedically greedy, but I am so glad my friend let greed win. That flatbread was incredible and honestly worth the visit on its own. The oxtail was also really good and a personal favorite. Overall, I would definitely return, if only for that flatbread alone.

Good energy, good food, and a vibe that carries the night. Saturday night here is lively--Afro-Caribbean music, dim lighting, and a slightly romantic but still social atmosphere. The DJ definitely set the tone. Service was friendly and helpful, but you could tell they were a bit busy. Still, they stayed attentive. Food highlights: The callaloo with plantain chips--perfectly spiced, slightly acidic, and honestly the standout. Curry crab gyoza had great flavor, though a couple were a little overdone. Drinks were solid--balanced and well made. By 8 PM, a lot of entrées were sold out, which was disappointing but also says a lot. "Come for the vibe, stay for the flavor--but get there early." The Rozzay Standard: Worth it (with timing in mind) Best for: birthdays, group dinners, or a night out with good music and energy

my boyfie and I have been wanting to try this place ever since we saw the lamb and oxtail flatbread!! it looked so goood. we came in on a weekday afternoon, total of 3 customers at the time. Place played music, definitely romantic and giving an occasion vibe. Staff was friendly! Food came out after 15 mins or so. We ordered: Lamb 5/10: Flavor was salty, and sweet which I liked! however the lamb didn't taste fresh, there is a slight sour aftertaste. the food was also COLD! which was disappointing but we pushed through. Oxtail flatbread 9/10: YESSS SOOO GOOOD!!! the oxtail flatbread is so yummy and cheesy! do you see that cheese pull???? it was me and my boys fav. The drinks were good! A staff member asked if she could take a picture, and I thought it was for their ig or something but it was for it to be printed, framed and bought! so yes please for the memories Will probably come back just for the flatbread!

Food and drinks were great, as usual! The music, service and vibes were all great too at the Saturday brunch. Can't wait to come back!

Inside is nicely decorated. The design is stylish w tables and space. Dj has nice best going . Staff is great and attentive. They charge a 20% service fee for parties of 2 or more that's crazy!. The food is heavy, light on ingredients and so so overall. The crab gyoza has no taste of crab, was dry and overpowered w the curry flavor. The flatbread had little shrimp on it, was a bit soggy and though decent in flavor wouldn't order again. I want to go back and try the wings and oxtail or red snapper to see how they do with them but otherwise would go for drinks and beat!

For a Friday night the vibe was just right. Flavor, Music and Decor. Highly recommend making reservations. This was a spot I've been eyeing for a long time and I'm glad I was able to experience it this weekend. As you can see in the pictures we were able to enjoy a few great things on the menu. For drinks we had watermelon, sorrel lemonade (nonalcoholic). Their herbed fries were so good we ended up ordering twice, I believe it's that delicious pepper sauce, (just the right amount of scotch bonnet taste), they serve it with that makes them taste even better. The sautéed callaloo was different (in a good way) served with plantain chips and some type of crema. One of our friends also ordered the ackee and salt fish shumai for starters. For our mains, my friend loved her coconut curry lentils suggested by one of the staff members. Thank you! My other friend ordered the oxtail flatbread (which I had to have with the pepper sauce, of course) . I ordered the jerk chicken wings, sweet plantains and coconut rice (some of the best any of us have had). Overall the service was excellent, attentive, friendly and on our pace. They resolved certain issues we had with diligence. I will definitely be back to savor some more items one the menu.

Kokomo had been on my list for a while, and I finally stopped by. The vibe is great with both indoor and outdoor seating -- definitely make a reservation if you're coming with a group. I tried the Crispy Chicken Bao Bun which I recommend, the Koko Pasta Flatbread with chicken - it is a perfect portion, even though it came out last, and the XO Noodles -- flavorful but not as impressive as expected. The Mac & Cheese was surprisingly light and tasty. Service was a bit confusing due to a change in servers, and prices are definitely on the higher side. We were so full by the end, we had to skip dessert. Solid spot overall -- I'd come back to try more.

This was my first time at Kokomo. I've been to the block party but never sat inside of the restaurant and ate. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. Our waiter's name was Matthew. He was very pleasant, attentive, and cute. My friends were making him so nervous but he did so well lol. We came on a Sunday and had to order from the "Sunday Drunch" menu. The French toast and fried chicken was so so good. The Mac and cheese was good but wayyyyy too cheesy for me. The jerk infused wings were good but they weren't cooked well enough for my liking. I also ordered a 3 drink mimosa bundle, which was very good. I'll return to Kokomo.

It was a Wednesday and I wanted bottomless beverages and brunch in the middle of the week and not too many places do that...this one does. Shout out to a fellow yelp elite NYer for hitting me with some recommendations. Also, black owned at the end of Black History Month is a win. The bartender/server (yes, I'm a bar fly) was not feeling her best but her personality didn't represent that. I forget her name, even though she told me. She was nice in that beautiful New York ruggedness, Bronx origins I believe. I hope that she's there the next time I visit. It was quiet on this Wednesday afternoon with only a few tables being served and I got a moment to speak with one of the owners. She was cool. They were doing photos for the restaurant this afternoon. The food was good. It's rare to find good food with bottomless drinks. The French toast was perfect. I could've gone for more of it than chicken. The chicken was well flavored but slightly dry, my only complaint. I was actually speaking with another server about that after she asked me for my honest review. I was clearly very social during this visit probably because that carafe didn't stay upright often. All in all, this was a good spot that I'll stop into again I'm sure.

I've had this place bookmarked for quite some time and decided to go for dinner. I did not have a reservation but was told I could sign up and wouldn't be more than 30 minute wait, which was accurate. I received a text when a table opened ip and was seated. Unfortunately, things sorta went downhill from there. The server came over after about ten minutes, but I was still waiting for my friend. Once she arrived, it took about 10-15 for him to return. We placed our order and then we waited over 90 minutes for our food. It took 90 just for our basic appetizers to come and while I got my calloo, my friend's appetizer was incorrect. They took about 25 minutes to bring her correct appetizer, which was cake and salt fish. She was perturbed, as was I, but she did enjoy her appetizer. While we sitting there frustrated a different server must have noticed something was wrong and we explained we had been waiting extremely long and she said she noticed we had been there awhile. She offered us a drink on the house to make up for it and went to get our food. I had the Salmon and that came with white rice. It was okay and we also had some macaroni cheese which was okay as well. We both had bread pudding for dessert which seemingly followed the same theme of just being okay. I did enjoy the drinks (Henny Colada) but the wait time really left a sour taste. I appreciate teed the other server coming to assist-- she further explained that he way too many tables assigned to him and was overwhelmed. However, that should never happen where it takes damn near two hours to eat.

I've come here an embarrassing amount of times just for that oxtail flatbread! It's my absolute favorite thing on the menu, but there's so many great things to choose from. I've come here for restaurant week, Valentine's Day, and casual drops ins the food never disappoints. It is very pretty inside, the perfect occasion dinner spot. The curry crab gyoza was extraordinary and I'll be getting that again. I also really like their Rasta pasta dish. The drinks are always good and strong. I highly recommend Kokomo!!

Is it dressy for brunch or can I wear shorts?

Most people dress semi casual but shorts will be fine. It's not an upscale restaurant.

Music? What type of music do they play? Do they have a dJ on Saturdays?

Yes they have a DJ. They play different varieties of music hip hop, R&B, soca, reggae and ect

Is there happy hour on Fridays also?

Not on Fridays but they do on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

    What are the hookah prices?

Hi, I am not sure as I did not try the Hookahs.

Do you still have outdoor dining?

    They do

Do they offer happy hour? If so, when, during what hours, and what are the specials?

Koko Hour is back! Join us Tuesday-Friday from 5pm-7pm and 9pm-10pm for drink and small plate specials. Follow us on Instagram for updates! @kokomonyc

Do you do bottomless on Saturdays?

We do not offer bottomless brunch at this time. Our brunch menu is offered Saturday and Sunday starting at 11am and we have a rotating DJ each weekend. Follow us on Instagram for updates! @kokomonyc

Can you bring a child during brunch hours?

    Yes!

Is their outside seating heated now it's getting cold?

Definitely! And it's warmer than you probably need too.

The website states that they only allow 20mins of dining for parties of 7+ is that accurate?

They allow more than 20 minutes...I was a part of a group of 10 that stayed for over an hour

Hi I cannot reach you guys by phone. My mom and boyfriend and I have a reservation for 6 pm tonight but we have a therapy dog with us; is that ok if we sit outside?

I sat outside with a regular dog in May and it was ok, and I called before and they said dogs allowed outside.

Since there isn't any reservations for this Saturday, can my friend and I just walk in?

You should be fine for a small party. They have ample outdoor seating as well as indoors. Though restaurants tend to be busier on weekends, you should be fine.

Does anyone know if they play music and if so is it a good blend of music?

Music was great with the vibe of their decor. Caribbean vibe is awesome.

What is the best way to get a hold of someone at this restaurant? Their phone keeps ringing and ringing and no one answers, ever. No response back to emails either.

You simply won't be able to get in touch with them. They are not answering due to the high demand, which means they lack in supply of being able to pick up calls. I got in contact with them early to opening hours, that's your best bet, after that… Read more

Is the outdoor seating pet friendly?

Not a pet friendly establishment overall

    Are there mild dishes?

    Yes

Do you offer bottomless mimosa for brunch?

Hi Mayowa! We offer bottomless mimosas during Friday Brunch from 11am-4pm. See you soon!

Do I need to have a reservation or are walk ins accepted?

Reservations are preferred and you can easily make one on Resy.com

Regardless, the theme is nice with everything attributable to their "laboratory" ambience. Everything is served in beakers or similar glasses. It can get a bit crowded sitting at the bar as that's where everyone orders drinks but otherwise this was quite enjoyable. Will definitely keep on the list for HH.
