So I'm walking from Von King Park on a sunny Saturday, and I see patrons chatting, drinking, and laughing, so we decided to stop in. The waitress was super professional and gave us suggestions from the menu items. She suggested the Peaches Punch (rum and positive vibes) and she did not disappoint. Peaches Punch was sweet and citrus. My fam is southern, migrated from North Carolina to Brooklyn, so I am not a stranger to southern food. My mother was a sou cook in a small water front hotel on the intercostal waterway, so I confess I am a chair side critic of collard greens. I do not like collards simmered too sweet. I also like to add vinegar. So we ordered the fried catfish, cornbread, and collard greens. The catfish arrived seasoned and crispy. I added a dash of Texas Petes hot sauce, they seriously offer a variety of hot sauce. Love it. The collard greens were inviting, aromatic, and tender. The smell of the collards reminded me of Sunday dinner after training. Yes, it tasted old school, I greatly appreciated the southern vibe and the great southern hospitality. My friend and I walked into Peaches HotHouse on a Wednesday around 2:15pm. Since they don't take reservations, this would be a good time to go, as there were only 3 other parties in the restaurant. It's a small, no frills space. My friend and I both ordered the fried chicken ($17), and we got collard greens ($6), grits ($6), and mac and cheese ($7). The chicken was mixed depending on the part of the chicken. Out of the three pieces I had, the breast was the only one that had everything perfect! The other two pieces were dry. My friend had a similar experience. The collard greens were flavored well and had great texture, and I would recommend ordering them. We got recommended the grits, but they were nothing special and severely lacked flavor. The mac and cheese was also on the drier side, though flavor was elevated from store bought mac and cheese. We also got the bourbon butter cake, which was a total miss. My friend mentioned that there needed to be more bourbon, and I thought there was just no flavor. It was a moist cake, though! I am a loyal customer who has enjoyed your food and service for years and has often recommended your restaurant to friends and family. During a recent breakfast visit celebrating both my mother's birthday, I had a disappointing customer service experience. I would first like to recognize the young gentleman who served our table . A mexican young man. , He was professional, attentive, and courteous throughout our visit. The issue arose when I ordered a Peach Bellini that did not taste as expected. It lacked the peach flavor I had enjoyed on previous visits and tasted more like orange juice. I asked if it could be replaced with a ginger ale. My server was handling another table and zi was willing to wait. . But a women of Spanish decent light skin and heavy set approached our table and explained there were policies regarding returning something. . Rather than simply processing the substitution, she repeatedly encouraged me to keep the drink and offered to add more peach flavoring. I explained several times that I simply did not like the beverage and preferred a ginger ale instead.. I also told her I an celebrating a birthday abd do not wish to go back and forth. She tried to explain all drinks are made thd same which is not the same. She has to remember she does not just represent herself but the Peaches establishment. As a former bartender, I understand that drinks can vary, despite efforts at consistency. My concern was not the drink itself but the lengthy discussion. I felt pressured to justify a simple request during what was meant to be a special celebration Our bill exceeded $100, and as a longtime customer, I expected a more customer-focused response. If there is a formal policy regarding drink returns or exchanges, it would be helpful for it to be clearly posted. They eventually substituted it. But I should not have to goI though all that. I liked the chicken but I personally wouldn't pay for it again. The best tasting part of the meal was the cornbread but you barely get any of it. This places is known for their fried food - primarily the catfish and chicken. I went with the catfish. This was some of the best fried fish I've had, if we're talking about just the fish itself. The breading is solid - going with a hot level of spice meant there was a good amount of seasoning on top, but I wouldn't classify it as spicy. It was crunchy at points, but missing the flakiness and true crunch I'd associated with top-tier fried fish. However, where it makes up for this is how good the inside of the fish is. This was spectacular - crazy moist, super tender, and just tasted fantastic. The complete opposite of that rubbery texture you get when you overfry the fish. The sauce that came with the fish was a little bland, however As for the sides, I thought the mac and cheese was really good - cheesy, slightly crispy on top, and cooked very well. I also liked the grits - though a bit buttery. The fries were a miss though. For the price, I think around 25 for the meal and a side is a solid deal. The sides especially come with pretty large portion size that will leave you very full. Overall, this is very good Southern food that I certainly enjoyed. 8.5/10 read more

My husband found this restaurant on TikTok, and we finally went last night--they did not disappoint at all. The staff was incredibly friendly, the vibes were great, and we loved the playlist; they were playing really good music the entire time. It honestly felt like eating in someone's home, which I absolutely loved. For drinks, I ordered the Grand Mimosa, and my husband had the Brownstone Punch. It was a bit strong for me since it has three different rums, but he enjoyed it. For our entrées, I ordered the catfish, and my husband ordered the spicy catfish, both served with mac and cheese, collard greens, and broccoli. The catfish was fried to perfection. Great southern brunch! Having gone to all of the other peaches, I've never tried the hothouse. I was skeptical that they would have their famous French toast but I called ahead and confirmed it would be available for brunch. The joint is small but a neighborhood fav as it was packed. We were able to get a table inside and dined on the fried green tomatoes, French toast and fried chicken. Torn between reason and blind rage, I feel I have to dock some stars, and perhaps maybe concluding there is a reason I was only one of three diners eating here during lunch time. Other Yelpers here have stated the food is very good here. As someone who has had many southern fried chicken sandwiches, this one falls short. The chicken is more bread than meat, the sandwich is overtaken by too much hot honey. It was not a pleasant sandwich to eat, though I really wanted to like it. Instead of fries (remember, no fries for me anymore in the USA with some exceptions), I got macaroni and cheese and cornbread. The former is creamy, silky, and hot all the way through. The latter is a little dry and bland, it definitely needs butter. I chose not to use it because it would have made a messy plate even messier. They do give you three pieces which is nice, but I would prefer them to have some flavor. The Tiger Woods, or their half and half, is okay, but watered down. After the first few sips, it loses its magic. Now it is just lemon water. I also found my server, initially friendly, to be condescending and insulting. If she was nicer I would have stayed a little longer, but her tone and hipster Bed-Stuy vibe (yes, the restaurant is in Bed-Stuy) turned me off. It is not attractive to me. My Nike team and I visited this restaurant today to celebrate a successful event. There were 11 of us in total, with two teammates arriving a little later than the rest. The other nine members of our group were already seated, and two additional teammates were sitting at a nearby table when we arrived. Our server was trying to accommodate us by adding seats so that my teammate and I could sit closer to the rest of our group. Unfortunately, the shift manager, Dehlia, immediately became rude and confrontational. She repeatedly told us that they were "already accommodating" us and spoke to us in a dismissive and unprofessional manner. What made the situation even more disappointing was that the table behind us voluntarily offered to move so that our group could sit together. Rather than considering the solution, Dehlia abruptly responded, "No, we're not doing that. I already told you." Her attitude and unwillingness to work with us created an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone involved. As a result of the interaction, one member of our team became so frustrated that they decided to leave altogether. I do want to recognize our waitress Jame J, who was excellent throughout the experience. She was attentive, professional, and did her best to help us. The poor experience was entirely due to the behavior of the shift manager. Customer service is about treating guests with respect, even when requests cannot be accommodated. Unfortunately, Dehlia's approach fell far short of that standard. Because of this interaction, our team would not choose to return to this establishment. Places like this are one of the reasons Brooklyn is my favorite borough in NYC. It's been awhile since I've been in a soul food restaurant. Most oldheads like me know it more as the Arnold Palmer, but I'm all in favor of recrowning it as the Tiger Woods. Back to the food which didn't take long to find its way to my table. The fries were literal perfection. Right type of crisp, right type of salt and fills you up proper. The Cornbread is very comparable to the classic popeyes Biscuit. Tasty and delightful but slightly absorbent texture which means you'll need a drink to wash it down after eating it. The chicken put every other chicken place I ever ate at TO SHAME! Not only was it delicious but it was prepared so nice, it was neither greasy or dry just, wow, it hit the sweet spot right to the bullseye. The Tiger Woods may be the best half and half I've ever had. You can actually taste both the Iced Tea and lemonade from it with no flavor overpowering the other. Most of the things are fried, but fried foods are one of the best things. Ordered a fried chicken plate. It came with three pieces. The best fried Southern fried chicken I've had in NYC. The chicken was moist even for a breast piece. The seasoning was good. Cornbread could have been more moist. The prices are also decent considering how massive the portions are. Fried catfish sandwich was amazing. The seasoning on that was so good. It was aggressively seasoned. The cajun seasoning was amazing. The size of the catfish was big too. It was perfectly crispy. I liked the sauce that also came with it. Side salad was just what I needed to pair with it because it was a heavy meal. Absolutely perfect fried chicken. I got the nashville hot at heat level 'hot', and it was medium-hot. The chicken was cooked perfectly, with even the breast having enough flavor that you didn't feel too disappointed moving to it after the delicious dark meat pieces. I also added the spicy pickles and hot sauce, I mostly ate the chicken dry, but with breast I did dip it, and the sauce was really good. The pickles were a nice addition I'd recommend. The only disappointing thing was the fries I got with it, they didn't hold onto their crunch like the chicken, and were just really standard generic french fries you'd get from a bodega; that said, I'd just get another side, as everything else was good.
