I came here on Friday for a cocktail and desert. Once I looked at the menu I couldn't decided between a Cesar salad or peach cobbler. I chose the peach cobbler and a sprite. No cocktail for me. The peach cobbler was really good. Not too much nutmeg and cinnamon and sweet. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was lovely. The service was great. The server was attentive to me. There was a large party celebrating a birthday at the bar. I still felt seen and taken care of. I will come back for dinner sometime soon. read more

Such a cute little spot with an outdoor patio. I clearly late to this place. We arrived early for our reservation but opted to sit at the bar instead for brunch. Bar tender, hostess, and servers were all so friendly. Such a good vibe from the team. The shrimp and avocado tostones are sooooo good. Ordered chicken and waffles with the banana fosters topping in the side. I received wings instead of regular friend chicken. Chicken tasted slightly of stale oil but the waffles were good. I was told the grand butcher boy burger was good. I'd come back solely for the vibes, service and bottomless. Probably not the wings. read more

Make reservations! This place was packed for Sunday brunch! $35 for tiny carafe of mimosas or Bellini with average taste, needs improvement. Huevos rancheros presentation needs improvement. It looked like messy slop, taste was 7/10. Omelette was 9/10, service was 9/10, esthetics 9/10. Chicken and waffles and fish and grits the next table next to us looked like 9/10 and by the way the patrons were licking their fingers I'd come back to try it next time! read more

I came here for brunch and failed to make a reservation, I was told there was no availability and we couldn't be accommodated.. I wasn't even offered a wait time, I had to point out to the host an empty table for 2 was available and all she had to do was put another chair for my party of 3. She then sat us. I ordered the fish and grits, brussel sprouts and deviled eggs. Fish abs grits were a 7, and so were the deviled eggs, the brussel sprouts were a 4, it tasted like pure hot sauce and nothing else. The chicken and waffles were good, I'd rate it an 8. Our server was very attentive and sweet. read more

I came here for brunch to celebrate my friend's amazing news, her engagement! We were seated indoors at the upper level next to the outside seating area (which was unfortunately still wet from the rain but looked really nice). I felt bad that we were too busy catching up that when our waitress returned we didn't have our orders ready. The staff was beyond attentive and patient with us. Answered our questions about the menu without hesitation and checked in on us during the meal. We finally ordered the Shrimp n Grits, Banana French Toast and Eggs Benedict. The first two were delicious, french toast was sweet and shrimp n grits hearty. The third was also good but seemed overcooked at first. Once my friend got to the middle of the egg then it started to ooze that yolky goodness. Im proud to say we cleared our plate willingly. My only qualm was the $6 for 3 pieces of bacon which granted I didn't need but was a want for any breakfast of mine. Wish it came with the toast at least and wasn't a separate order. Honorable mentions were the drinks and they were very very very good. I absolutely loved my spiked lemonade. Definitely a 4.7 meal. read more

I came here for brunch on a Sunday. The restaurant had a warm, welcoming vibe and we immediately felt at home. Vibrant art adorned the walls. The restaurant has a split level. We sat towards the back in the upper section. To drink, they were out of the sangria so I had the greyhound cocktail. It was fruity and juicy, but didn't really taste like grapefruit. My partner got the sidecar and enjoyed the tangy flavor. To eat, I ordered the omelet with avocado. I found a piece of plastic in my dish so they had to remake it. This was unfortunate but after the fix, I enjoyed the food. The omelet was loaded with veggies and tasted fresh. The breakfast potatoes were well seasoned. For dessert, we shared the peach cobbler. It was topped with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious, with a crispy top layer and large peach slices. Despite the issue with my entree, I'd recommend this place. All of the food looked great as it was passing by for other tables. The playlist included Sade and Keyshia Cole so it's definitely a vibe for weekend brunch. read more

Our development corporation had their Christmas party here on December 13, 2024. We ordered four different types of chicken wings, hamburger sliders, and salmon sliders. All were good. Friday night is karaoke night and it did not disappoint. It was so much fun watching everyone sing and dance. They have a lovely outdoor area for dining but it was too cold to eat outside because it was 39 degrees. I will be going back. read more

I've been here a few times in my travels to Brooklyn. I cannot say that I haven't been pleased. Each time the experience is better than the last, and interestingly enough I abandon my need to have the same meal as I so often do. The service is always top tier, the food delicious, and it's an all around great atmosphere and vibe for a time out with friends or an intimate date. Brunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed, or at least I haven't. Can't wait to return. read more

Came here for Brunch with my niece and we had a good time. We opted to seat in the back outside, the weather was nice and it's covered. The wait staff was pleasant and quick. Especially with them mimosas...Grreat job!!! Lol Honestly my only issue was my steak was small and thin. However, the menu did not indicate steak ounces so that's on me. I should have asked...lol! Love this spot so much! I wish it were closer because I'd be there ALL THE TIME! Went here after church one day with a girlfriend. We had a great time! The food was hot and delicious, the mimosa was mimosa'ing and the music playing was on point! It was quite busy due to beautiful weather we were having that day so it took a little while to get the waiters' attention even with a reservation. However, it was worth the wait. We ordered the shrimp tostones I believe it was called for our appetizer, my friend had the chicken and waffles, while I had the shrimp and grits. The appetizer was an eclectic dish of cooked shrimp atop fried green plantains, with pickled cabbage, carrots and avocado. It packed a punch but it was delicious and a great starting plate. My friend said she enjoyed her food but that the chicken had a bit more salt than needed but it was fine otherwise. My shrimp and grits were delectable! I tore that up! It was in the dish and then it wasn't, lol. I wish they had free refills on it because I would've easily devoured another serving! Lol. The mimosa carafe we had was made with love. The champagne was kickin! Left there feeling like I was floating but in the best way! Not drunk, not tipsy, just nice! I hope to be back very soon with more friends! read more

Finally got a chance to pop in here. I've heard nothing but good things about Rustik Tavern. Black Owned Business is always a highlight for me. Please be advised this review reflects a happy hour experience, not a busy dinner/brunch. Upon entering there are high tops to the left and regular seating along the left wall. Walking further in you have the bar to the right with seating. There are separate men's & women's bathrooms past the bar (one at a time). Towards the back is another level for seating and an outdoor seating area. AC works! There are hooks at the bar to hand your belongings. This place believes in happy hour (4pm-7pm for select wines and cocktails). Ray served me at the bar. Greeted me when I walked in and was attentive throughout my time here. I had a glass of the Chenin Blanc, the Rustik Pink Lemonade (vodka based), a spicy tequila cocktail, and the Shrimp Avocado Tostones. The lemonade went down waaayyy too easy, so be careful. Ray customized my tequila drink to make it extra spicy! was pleasantly surprised about the food because I did not know how these flavors were going to turn out. Shrimp was fully cooked & flavorful, the tostones were tostone'ing (Garlic and salt were just right) and the avocado spread was a great mix to bring the whole thing together. As far as the vibe, music is just the right volume to fall in to the flow but still have a conversation. A nice playlist of soul/neo-soul/house to just make you feel at ease while here. Not any identifiable con's on my first visit. I'll be back here again. Hopefully for brunch. read more

This is my 3rd time at Rustik. Unfortunately, my least favorite. I came here for brunch and everything was just ok. Made a reservation on Yelp and really didn't need to. On a Saturday at about 1pm there were plenty of seats. I arrived and there was no one at the hostess stand but my friend was already seated so I walked over to her. I'm not sure what I expected but was sort of disappointed with the brunch Menu. I hadn't been there in years but thought there was more on the menu. I ordered a Bellini and a chicken and waffles. The bellini was fine. The chicken and waffles were just ok. The chicken looked so sad. I was expecting bone in chicken but got boneless chicken. The chicken had flavor but didnt feel freshly cooked. The waffles were soft. I usually like my waffles to be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. What kind of made it worse for me was another table arrived after us and recieved their chicken and waffles and the chicken was hot and fresh. My chicken looked totally different then theirs. So there clearly was an inconsistency with the cook. Towards the end it got a little busy and service got slower. All in all, wasn't the best experience for brunch. read more

I did not have a favorable experience here, unfortunately. Even before my arrival, I was slightly bothered by my mother being forced to sit outside for about 25-30 minutes before I got here. I was going out with my mother and she got there before me-- she called me while I was driving over because the hostess informed her you needed a reservation and they had no openings until after 3PM. I found this peculiar; I decided to look quickly online and saw a 1:30 and 1:45 reservation time. I attempted to call, but it was too many prompts to actually get a human. Ultimately I arrived and I go speak to the hostess and she offered me a seat at the bar, but I declined. She said to give her a second and she came back and told me I could be seated. I saw a couple of tables empty outside. In addition, within 10 minutes all but three tables were unoccupied-- so I was confused at to what the difficulty was in seating my mother. By this point, I'm slightly perturbed, but both the hostess and server were very nice and cordial. We order rather quickly and the food doesn't take very long to come out. We both ordered a few sides and I had a drink (Sidecar), which was decent. I had eggs, grits and home fries-- none of the food items were anything to write home about. My mother wasn't pleased with her similar items-- I believe she said her grits had onions, which she found weird. The ambiance in the back was decent and the music playing inside was okay, but overall I wasn't pleased with anything aside from the server and hostess being personable. read more

Cute brunch spot! We made reservations in advance for 11. They weren't completely open at 11 but were seated a bit after. Our server was amazing! She was so attentive and nice, we really appreciated it! The food came out quickly. Food was okay, I would give it a 3/5. The bottomless breakfast drinks are awesome! You can do Bellinis or mimosas as well for select cocktails. Drinks were great, 5/5! Fun brunch stop in Brooklyn. read more

This is a nice neighborhood gem. I typically enjoying coming here but not today. A group of 4 arrived close to open the heat was not working - it happens they tried. Food: chicken and waffles - the waffles were delicious but the chicken was overcooked. The Rustik Omelette - too salty adding salt and using a salty cheese just ruins the taste - lets the customer season their food when it comes to the omelette. The salmon sliders did not hit the spot they tasted old only the coleslaw saved it - as did the fries but the sliders were a fail. Service took too long as there was only 1 waitress but understandably I will not complain on that - for Sunday brunch they need to better staff. read more

I love it here. The happy hour is great with half off drinks. The vibes here are also great - it's cozy on the inside with exposed brick and plenty of tvs for sports, but it's doesn't feel like a rowdy sports bar. Overall rating: 4.2 I was in the neighborhood with a friend and we stumbled on this spot. The waffles of the chicken & waffles were so good. I kinda still think about them.. However, while we were a walk-in, the host said every seat is reserved and that we had to sit at the bar. Totally fine. What I don't understand is.. for the full 90+ minutes we were there- we saw 4 tables that were empty the entire time. What gives?! I don't understand the logic but I'm hurt. There was a nice table for 2 looking outside the window that was empty the entire time. On top of that, the beer was flat. The bartender was super nice and let me change drinks. When I ordered the sangria, thinking I was getting sangria- I saw he put seltzer water in it. The menu doesn't have seltzer water shown. So either update your menu, or serve what the menu says. Because if I had known there was seltzer water in the sangria, I would not have ordered it. I liked the grits too, but I was really turned off by the drinking experience. I think I'd probably get those waffles to go & not sit back. read more

I came on Friday night and it wasn't busy they sat us immediately. The spot looks nice & the hostess was friendly. I gave 3 stars because their "regulars" are quite rude yelling and throwing ice across the establishment. When the ice missed them and hit me I was highly upset like wth. Another regular walked in right after and spoke to the crowd of immature adults; where one of them felt the need to announce "we have newbies tonight". Because I heard him say it when he asked where I said over here behind you we're the newbies. The food arrived and I was less than impressed. I was excited about coming here and now Im just like meh . I couldn't even finish it. My daughter ate her steak n mashed potatoes though. read more

Disappointing Mother's Day brunch. The best part of it all was our pleasant and very accommodating server and the bottomless Bellinis. Nevertheless, the Bellinis did not impair my judgement when I questioned if the burger I ordered was a slider. It definitely was not a $15 burger in size or quality. The meat was full of gristle, which I do not expect to find in quality blend of ground beef that I pay $15 for at any establishment. In addition, my cousin ordered the steak and eggs entree, which was entirely too salty and inedible. The steak and eggs were switched for shrimp and grits, which were pretty good. This establishment used to be top notch and and exciting dining experience. It has slowly gone downhill, as per my last review. When I was told that my niece made reservations for us at Rustik Tavern for Mother's Day, I was not excited at all, but hoped that things improved... No mas! read more

Came here with friends for a MLK Day Weekend brunch. We wanted to support a black owned business and Rustik Tavern was at the top of our list. The owner, Frantz, was super accommodating to our last minute large party and made sure we got a big table in the back. The food... was absolutely amazing. They had catfish & fries on their menu but I kept debating if I wanted that or the shrimp & grits. I decided to do the fish after I saw a few yelp reviews saying the shrimp wasn't filling but then my friend had a genius proposition for the waiter. How about we substitute the fries for grits? And she let us!! The grits were deliciously cheesy and hearty while the fish was flaky and not dry or over cooked. They went so well together, they might wanna consider always substituting the fries for grits lol. Now my one issue with my experience was the bottomless service. They offer bottomless drinks for $35 (1.5 hours) which is a bit pricey BUT to be fair, you can get well drinks too which usually isn't a thing. It took probably 45 minutes to get our first mimosa and it felt like it wasn't as bottomless as it could've been. The drinks came out slowly and for that price, I would have hoped for drinks to be flowing. But we still enjoyed ourselves and definitely got to stay longer than the time limit. Stop by for a good brunch!! read more

FOOD: The pasta was underwhelming and we had to give them a second try on the Mac cheese which improved the next time around. Half the drinks in the menu for happy hour were not available. The date night deal is $40 per person which I thought $80 was not really a "deal" but I guess fair to share two entrees and one dessert one bottle of wine. SERVICE: Attentive, but there was noticeable drama and gossip between colleagues. CLEANLINESS: My utensils were NOT clean, my glass had a stain. I did not bother using the bathroom AMBIANCE: Beautiful! I love the flower chandelier and the outdoor area is nice. Place has a wood theme. OVERALL: This place is not new but, it felt like they were still working out the kinks. Not for me. read more

Came as a party of three for brunch. They offer a 90 minute Boozy Brunch for $38.00 with Select cocktails, wines, & Beers. Not feeling Boozy? They offer a Burger & Beer Special for $20.00 which includes Draft Beer, Side of Fries and a Burger. We started with fried deviled eggs this was really good. To be honest this was the main attraction for me from this menu and was the best thing ordered. Brunch entrees were Franklin Fish & Home fries (Panko Breaded Catfish), Salmon Burger, and the Spencer Steak and Eggs. I wasn't wowed by the fish and home fries. My potatoes were very hard, like undercooked hard. I notified the waitress and another order of the home fries came out just for it to still be hard again. The burger and steak entrees were said to better but not something to be wowed about. I love a good brunch and the brunch price is steep compared to other places where it may be $25 add on for bottomless or a prefixed menu inclusive of meals and drinks. Especially with the food quality not being the greatest the price is just a bit too steep. I did like the aesthetic of the place. Small but cozy. I think if they revamped the menu, ingredients, and preparation it would be a better experience. I could see myself giving it another chance if that were to be the circumstances. read more

I had reservations with a party of 8 for 10 p.m. on a Saturday night. We had late night plans and wanted to have a late dinner, and Rustik Tavern had reservations available well into the evening. They also advertise a bottomless drink option for dinner. I'm just going to cut to the chase and let y'all know what I know now and not what I was expecting. The kitchen closes at 10:30 p.m. The menu is limited at an hour like 10 p.m. (the steak was 86ed, so was the beyond burger, so was the espresso martini). They did not seem to be aware of the bottomless drink option at dinner, but they were going to allow us to do bottomless mimosas or sangria (not beer, wine, or select cocktails). The food they did serve was delicious. Highly recommend the food. Do not recommend going late. The bottles of wine were good and affordable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and apologetic for the confusion caused. It was a good experience just not quite what we were expecting. read more

Ahhhh! Found a bottomless Brooklyn gem! My friend and I found this place by Google searching 'bottomless brunch in brooklyn." Rustik Tavern was the first suggestion. I read some mixed reviews before coming so I had a precursor on what to expect. Thankfully my expectations were exceeded. I arrived before my friend and was unable to be seated at a table without a reservation and my entire party. Understood yet strange because the restaurant was not abnormally packed. There was the usual hustle and bustle. Less, even -- I'd say because it was a rainy day. Nonetheless, I sat at the bar and waited for my friend. When my friend arrived, the hostess told us they had no space to seat us at a table, but there were plenty so we just ate at the bar. Annoying, but forgivable. Ambiance was good. I appreciated the music choice and volume. You ever been out to a calm brunch and the music is blasting like you're in the club? Yep, me too and best believe I never went back lol. The music was loud enough to enjoy but still have a conversation without shouting at whomever you're out with. Now to the best part -- the food. We ordered chicken and waffles. We are basic, I know lol. It was SO good though. Chicken batter was well seasoned and juicy. The waffles we received were delicious as well. We went for bottomless but ended up just ordering a pitcher of the peach Bellini. Really good (and I mean strong) drinks too. Overall, I'd come back for brunch. I certainly would recommend coming here! You will not be disappointed read more

I soooo wanted this place to be the place... it's not! A month ago we made reservations and we're running late, called, they let us know brunch would be done but we could do dinner - we got all the way there and the hostess was stopped seating us by someone in the kitchen who told her the kitchen was closed... her response "my bad". I can't make this stuff up. At that moment I reached out to the owner via phone and through Yelp, no response. Today I'm feeling spontaneous, same group of people I was with said let's finally try rustic, make a reservation... GPS says we're 20 mins away and what happens - someone calls me to let me know they don't have enough manpower for the kitchen so the kitchen will be closed but the bar will be open Needless to say we are DEFINITELY NOT COMING BACK - or should I say... attempting to come back.
