first of all. we had to move tables 2 times because the band had to set up. we were moved once and then the band told us they needed more space so we moved AGAIN. did the waiter not know the band would be in today and have to set up?? i was very confused. the service was awful. i was there with my friend and few people were at the bar and that's IT. there were two people working. every. single. time we had to call one of them over to ask for something, whether that be to order something or for the check. they were either talking to people they knew they were eating food while at work?? the artichoke dip was so watery it made my stomach hurt so bad the next morning. the brownie tasted like store bought brownie and it was not good. we even ordered calamari at the same time we ordered the dip and he did tell us they were chopping it up and had to wait a little bit and we said okay to that. tell me why he brought out the dip, we ate it. ordered another drink, drank it. time goes by and the calamari still isn't here. 5 minutes later our brownie is brought out to us. after we eat the brownie we decide we're full and don't need the calamari. we call over the waitress and tell her hey could we cancel the calamari we're actually full just wanna let you know before it comes out. she says to us. oh we never put it in....like THANK GOD but are u kidding me?? we asked for 3 things how did you possibly forget? only things that were good were the drinks. we even were given a free drink on the side at the end of our meal because the waiter knew he was doing a bad job at checking in on us. we even had to go up to the bar to ask for the check. and remember! there was NO ONE THERE!! bad experience and definitely not worth the money/time. disappointed cause i wanted to support a black business. read more

I am so glad that Rustik Tavern is still in business. I used to come here back in 2015 and it was such a vibe. I was there last night for Jazz night, but I wasn't aware that that was no longer happening. The hostess was happy to play some jazz while we dined and it was lovely. The environment of this place is warm and cozy, I love that the most. The food was delicious, hot, tasty and fresh. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the cornbread. My sister's, my daughter, and I went here to support Black-owned businesses. I'll start with the pros. I was able to make a reservation very easily through the Yelp app. That made it very convenient to do. My dish was flavorful and a good size portion. Cons: I was able to book a reservation for 5 pm. These were the slots listed as available. When we arrived we were told that we could have our drink orders, but that the kitchen wouldn't open back up until 5:15 pm. Kind of weird but okay. We waited almost an hour after our orders were taken for our food to arrive at our table. The waitress did apologize for the wait, stating that the kitchen was a mess. Not a good thing for patrons to hear right before their food comes. My daughter had a simple order of chicken fingers, and my sister had fried chicken, yet these items took the longest to come. The fried chicken was undercooked on the inside and overcooked on the outside. I'm guessing that the experience is better during brunch hours, but if dinner will be part of the menu, I believe there should be a way to make the transition a bit smoother. We more than likely won't be back, but we did enjoy the impromptu sing-a-long to Lauryn Hill and the great pictures we were able to take. read more

We had bottomless mimosas both times also and naturally no complaints. This evening I ordered delivery from Rustik. My order came timely and I dug in! Was able to walk in on a Sunday and get a table immediately. After that everything wavered off in terms of experience. Took 15-20 minutes to finally get water then another 10 to place an order. There were only two waitresses for the whole place AND the bar so that's no fault of their own. Got the bottomless option which included sangria, bellinis, mimosas, screwdrivers and greyhounds. We did the $75 brunch special which came paired with bottomless cocktails. I liked that we were not restricted to one type of cocktail and we were able to change our drink choices. The punch was good and strong, but the table favorite was the strawberry lemonade (I think that's the name). We eventually all changed to the strawberry lemonade drink. There were minimal complaints about the food, although, some things could use some improvements. My steak was dry, so I requested avocado on the side and put it on top (I wish there was like a chimichirri sauce). My eggs were made perfectly over medium. The crab cake was really good and had a nice fresh taste to it. I think the Avocado Shrimp Tostones could have used more shrimp, I think the portion of shrimp was small (i think it was a shrimp or two chopped into smaller pieces). The shrimp and grits was good, it was very cheesy. The chicken was nice and juicy, cooked perfectly; the waffle was a little crispy (some people like it that way). Rustik Tavern is an amazing brunch venue! We were there yesterday for an end of 40's birthday and we had a ball! The 4 of us had absolutely refreshing Belinis, and then began to eat. And eat. A lot! Deep fried deviled eggs and a shrimp and kale salad. More Belinis! Shrimp and grits for two of us, an omelet and French toast for the others. Let me tell you about the shrimp. First, they were large. Tail on. And absolutely cooked to perfection on a bed of the creamiest, most luscious Cheddar grits i've ever had, and I've had plenty! More Belinis! One carafe after another! Dessert was two orders of deep fried cheesecake ( it was national cheesecake day!) We rolled ourselves out after thanking our server Brittany, the manager Steve and the owner Frank, who were all the most gracious and attentive hosts we could ask for. I ordered the omelette that came with potatoes and salad. As well as a side of cheese grits. My family member ordered the same dish minus the grits. Our other table mate ordered the French toast. Let me just say I'm not into writing bad reviews just telling my truth. My meal was not good. The omelette was not well cooked to me. I say to me because my family had the same omelette and enjoyed. The salad was put on the plate with the hot food so it wilted. However the grits were pretty okay. The French toast was rock hard. Literally we hit it with a fork and you heard it. We looked at the table next to us that ordered French toast and theirs appeared to be fluffy and delicious. At that point we alerted the waitress to our dislike of the food overall. The waitress from beginning to end was very kind and she agreed with our decision to speak up after seeing the food for herself. I did have to peach cobbler since I didn't not get anything else after sending my food back. It was delicious. Try that if you go. The outdoor ambiance was enjoyable. The menu pricing was average. Honestly great vibes went with a table of 4 and I have to say the server was very attentive to all of our needs and extremely patient considering we came in a little buzzed off some flower and were a bit overwhelmed by the choices. The music and the atmosphere had great energy and perfect low lights to match the Frank Ocean! Now I would like to say shout out to them having a wide variety of mocktails for our non-drinking members but the wine selection was just as great. Now the plate I had was the Sanford Salmon. The blackened Salmon was cooked to perfection and paired with a amazing sauce that went well with the potatoes, which I must say were cooked perfectly not entirely creamy like most do and had a amazing texture to them. Now to the most impressive part was the kale which I was prepared to eat separately due to its typically strong flavor however they had completely cooked it to perfection with garlic and it paired amazing with the dish.
