Great brunch spot! Came on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm and got seated right away. By the time we left, the place was fully packed. I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich off their brunch menu which was great. I loved the honey and gochujang glaze, a little bit of sweetness with a slight kick. I went here with family for my partners birthday! If was very casual vibes but a bit elevated. I love the atmosphere and fairy lights decor, it's magical and lovely. You can sit at the bar, or if you want to be seated at a table you actually go up to order food and drinks at the bar and they bring it out to your table. I ordered the Fried Shrimp with Old Bay Remoulade ($13) and the Rosemary Flatbread with Olive Oil ($5). The shrimp was deliciously fried and tender, and I loved the sauce. I would absolutely get this one again. The flatbread was underwhelming to me, the rosemary flavor was subtle to nonexistent, O it felt like eating a pita bread with olive oil, unfortunately. Came here around 1p on a Saturday. Great spot! I got the fried chicken sandwich and my friend got the sweet potato hash. Sandwich and hash were both great. The fries that came with the sandwich were decent-- did the job but nothing special. We sat at the bar and our food/drinks came very quickly. I would probably of done a 3/3.5 but the people I we with really enjoyed their meals! The menu is pretty small but the meals are good. Two people I was with got burgers and said they really enjoyed them! The hummus dip came with nicely charred focaccia, but the splash of tomato sauce on top was a bit strange. The hummus itself was fine, so I recommend to order it without the sauce. My burger was perfectly cooked, also with a nice char on the patty., and the shoestring fries were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of salt. In any event waited a few minutes it's basically first come first served. Not a large establishment but it's a cute cosy neighborhood hangout it seems. Customers consisted of families, Millennials, groups celebrating. I did like I was seated and did not have to wait for the entire party. Basically consisted of booths, lunchroom type tables and bar area. There is an outdoor area and it seems heated. Once my friends arrive time to order. Order is by QR code basically almost zero interaction with wait staff. Orders placed via QR code then delivered to your table. Bit of a negative for me but some may like this option. Food Ordered a friend chicken sandwich with fries and added avocado. Fries were on the salty side but ok. As Not a fan of cabbage the cabbage slaw atop sandwich did not cut it for me. I removed but the juices and taste lingered on. Omelets and burgers also consumed. All in all nothing spectacular. Would I repeat brunch probably not. However I do plan to return to sample dinner menu. Lastly if multiple folks cannot split when time to pay. Probably each person would have to start their own individual tab. This is a very cute spot with fun decor and cool vibes if you want something calm to do. Went on a Tuesday and there was Karaoke and the staff were sanginnnnn. A good amount of fun drink options and the chicken sandwich was pretty good. There were other things on the menu that looked pretty tasty so will probably go back one day to check it out. read more

Gave this spot a second try after we had an incident with our credit card and I'm glad we did. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the vibe was right! Pros: indoor seating requires vaccination proof, which we appreciated. Cons: slow service and slow food preparation (50+min for my avocado toast). Super weak or lack of AC on a 90+ degree summer day. Additionally, waitress needs customer service training. She didn't give us water or silverware even when the food was there so we ended just grabbing plastic ones by the counter. Then when I asked about my avocado toast, she literally said "I only have two hands", which was beyond the point. Clearly I wasn't asking if she is an octopus, I was asking if it's ready. This cafe by day, restaurant & cocktail bar by night establishment puts an emphasis on sustainability. The straws are made of paper, their wines are biodynamic, and they commit to supporting farmers as a restaurant. They might even use an alternative glass for their cups because one shattered in my partner's hand as they picked up their frose the other night. Since the glass cut up their hand pretty badly, the server did offer us many bandages and gave us a discount on our drinks, and after a quick clean up and a fresh new frose, we carried on with our night, and enjoyed an outdoor beverage on an unseasonably warm night. In fact it was so warm they didn't even have to turn on their heaters, so I can't speak to the strength of them, but the area was covered and shielded patrons from the elements, which was nice. The frose was really delicious and the alcohol in it was masked really nicely because based on the flavor I did not expect to get as buzzed as I did. I was actually thankful that we were required to order food because the blueberry muffin we got from them was delicious and likely prevented me from getting too faded. I'd love to return for dinner to see what the kitchen demonstrate their sustainable cooking chops. read more

Really digged their modern and retro decor. I also appreciate how spacious it is. They don't have an extensive menu. Most of their dishes are very simply made, like 4-5 ingredients max. For dinner, we shared the tomato salad which was more like a deconstructed BLT. The vegetable fricasse (ragout and egg noddles) offered in the summer was light and wonderful. My husband liked the Pork shoulder steak with buttermilk kimchi. Brunch: we had the mushroom on toast and pork hash. Their dishes come in great presentation. It could just be only the plates i tried but I felt they could do better infusing more flavor in their dishes. The star experience in my opinion is getting a drink here. The large gorgeous bar creates a cozy speakeasy feel. This place strikes as a great date spot. Drinks are well presented and made. Even the simple mimosas served at brunch. I liked the tequila and gin based drinks. The Mezcal margarita and the Eastside with cucumber and mint both stood out. Overall: 4 stars for drinks, atmosphere, service. 3 stars for food. They have a rotating seasonal slushy cocktail that has never let me down. The winter slushy, the chichi morada daiquiri slushy, is made with light rum, purple corn, pineapple, cinnamon and clove. My boyfriend's burger came with fries, and the accompanying rosemary garlic aioli was heavenly. One of the best aspects of this place is its payment process. Scanning the QR code on the table enabled us to place our own orders that we could ultimately pay for separately, but be served together as a party. So surprised this place has so few stars because it's the cutest bar! The decor, the lights, the ambience, the drinks, the build out...so adorable! The bartender Jameel was amazing. I was that annoying customer that asked loads of (probably silly) questions about the cocktails and he was very patient and answered them all. Then when I picked my cocktail eventually, I asked for extra ginger, just to be extra annoying. And he made me the nicest drink with a smile and the cocktail was amazing (it was the mezcal Paloma by the way.) Didn't get to try the food but heard their brunch is phenomenal. Cultures beautifully collide and flavors are bold albeit a tad under spiced for me remedied by housemade hot sauce. Are: Line caught Bluefish over clam chowder $19 This dish with a brown butter finish was very clever and delicious with large clam pieces too, but if I had to say one piece of criticism other than pepper, the potatoes could have been cooked al dente instead slightly over cooked otherwise very family friendly this being Brooklyn and more imaginative dishes to try. It's counter service and seat yourself, so it felt very easy to pop in for as little or long as you want. The interior is beautiful with abundant indoor and outdoor seating. The bathrooms were clean. We ran into trouble when we placed our order on the toast QR code.. the tech itself was great. Our glasses of wine came out in a reasonable amount of time. However the burger we ordered still hadn't come out in about 30 minutes, which thankfully our server noticed. However after that it still took another 30 minutes to get resolved... I want to give points to Edie Jo's because they ultimately did serve us a really delicious burger and gave us a free glass of wine and appetizer. The staff member seemed to genuinely feel bad, and wanted to make it right which went a long way with us. All in, I'd visit again! read more
