    Brunch Shakshuka
    Johanna B.

Since my first review, I had another dinner (delivery) and two dine in brunches. While I'm inclined to say the dinners were just okay, I really enjoyed the brunch experience. On both occasions, I went with the same friends. On both occasions, we chose the same table. And on both occasions, we spent at least 3 hours catching up never feeling rushed for the table. First brunch selection was the Shashouka. It was delicious albeit egg yolks slightly overdone. However, the Turkish breakfast is what I recommend and ordered when i had brunch at Kitchen today. Two eggs any style accompanied by a beet hummus, smoked eggplant baba, labneh, side salad of chickpeas with cucumbers, feta and olives. Finally, pita bread cut in triangles flavored with Zaatar spice. Really delicious. Cozy atmosphere. Good food. Friendly staff.

This place has a fun Mediterranean menu and thought the drinks and the food were fantastic. We were here with a big group on a summer Saturday and found it buzzing but not overly packed and that was just perfect for a grp get together. I especially enjoyed the different dips, beet hummus, labne, baba ganoush -- name it it was all lovely. The cocktails were all so refreshing too! HOWEVER, we might have come here on an off night. Was very puzzled that they ran out of their Izmir Spritz (how does one run out of a freshly made cocktail?). They then ran out of the honey cake & tuxedo cake so only one person in the grp could have it. Oh but the funniest bit was them running out of spoons and we ended up consuming the delish ice cream with forks!!! The staff was ever so kind though (shoutout to Willa and crew) that we just had to laugh the RUNNING out of things theme.

We had an unexpectedly enjoyable lunch here. The decor is very nice inside with a mix of tables and booths and bar seats. The staff are very friendly and accommodating- when we visited my husband was following a special diet and they were very accommodating. We were just having a quick lunch so we had chicken sandwiches, they were nicely presented, tasty and a good size. The fries and salad they came with were good. The menu is pretty extensive with a mix of diner type food and Mediterranean inspired dishes. We will definitely revisit when we are next in the area.

    The Purple

The drink called The Purple tasted like a sophisticated kool-aid! The salted side of the glass tasted like some sort of expensive salt. I asked the bartender to make it without Mezcal because I really hate the taste of it and to make it a lil on the sweeter side 10/10 The octopus was well seasoned but was a little on the chewy side. The potatoes meshed well. Tried the Potato Dumplings, they were delicious!! I thought the lobster roll would be much better than it was, I had gone the whole summer without having one so I guess I had high expectations for it. I loved the presentation for the Crispy Duck Confit!!! It was perfectly cooked. Oh! Don't get the tres leches, it was grainy The Chocolate cake was delicious thou. Our Waiter/Bartender was funny and a delight

I wish that the eggs Benedict would reappear in front of me right now. The eggs were cooked perfectly as well as the hollandaise sauce. The buttery English muffin at the bottom was beyond perfect. Speaking of perfect, this really is the perfect brunch spot. The decor and aesthetic was right up my alley. From the lights, to the emerald green gorgeous bar chairs, I was in love. Now let's talk drinks and food. So so so good. The brunch menu really is outstanding. The breakfast burger was so flavorful and cooked the perfect medium rare. Get your phone ready because the plates are beautiful and all of our eggs were cooked beautifully causing the best #yolkp*rn !!! The French toast was perfectly crisp on the outside but soft and full of cinnamon in the middle & the berry topping was just the perfect bit of tartness that was needed. The drinks were delicious and they have a few that get smoked and make for the most epic photo! They have cute outdoor seating in which we got to enjoy because the weather was beautiful. Can't wait to come back!

Turkish breakfast (sans egg because I ate it too quickly!)

Wow. I don't usually leave reviews but this place was too great not to share. We went for brunch on Sunday at about 12:15 and walked right in, no reservation needed. They didn't have brunch cocktails on the menu but they made us Bloody Mary's and we saw another table order mimosas. The drinks were great - not too spicy but good flavor. I ordered the Turkish Breakfast (pictured) and my partner had the French toast (not pictured because he ate it too fast). Both were delicious. The ingredients were so fresh, so tasty, and unlike other brunch dishes I've had. It may have been the best fried egg I've ever had. The attention to detail in the dish and the flavor were outstanding. And for the price?? Can't beat it. On top of that, the service was excellent. It's a mystery to me why this place wasn't completely packed because it's just that good. Will absolutely be going again and can't wait to check out their dinner!

Amazing find in Cobbile Hill. The experience begins with the service. The staff here are some of the nicest people on the planet! Service always comes with a smile. The cocktails are outrageous, too. Not overdone, but elegantly done and delicious. The food is almost better -- if that's even possible. Definitely come here and get the small plates to share. They clearly put a lot of love into their food and it shows up on the plate. Charming decor, great food, magnificent drinks, and exceptopnal service.

    Deviled Eggs

The best in the area! I always come for their duck papardelle. The duck is sooo tender and flavorful, it's just perfect combination with the pasta. Brussels sprouts are also delicious. The service is the best! They are always friendly and nice, and the barista is a true professional, serving up stunning cocktails. When after only one visit the barista remembers your preferred drink for 3 months it really makes a difference! The restaurant itself is a cozy, clean and inviting space with a chill atmosphere.

It has the kind of cozy neighborhood vibe that makes you want to relax and savor your meal. Our server, Annie S., was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and very easy to talk to. Her service struck the perfect balance and truly enhanced our experience. We shared the Sailor Gin Martini, which was beautifully chilled, bright, aromatic, and finished with a lovely dry note. It was refreshing and absolutely delicious. For our appetizer, we shared the quiche. It was so good that we completely forgot to take a photo before finishing it! For our entrées, I ordered the cod and my husband had the burger without the bun. The cod was honestly one of the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. The pea purée that accompanied it was equally delicious and complemented the fish beautifully. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger, and I couldn't resist helping myself to some of his fries, which were excellent as well. Every part of this meal was enjoyable, from the drink and food to the warm hospitality and comfortable atmosphere. Needless to say, we both left very happy.

The Asparagus & Spring Pea Quiche was hearty, savory and golden crusted perfection. But the star? The French Toast, sitting in a warm maple sauce topped with a cloud of cream. When I walked in, I noticed two available seats at the bar. A Caucasian woman took one of the seats, and I sat in the other. Moments later, an employee asked me to move because the woman's friend was supposedly on the way. Now, I've always understood bar seating to be first come, first served. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I wasn't even given the opportunity to order a drink or remain seated until the friend actually arrived. Instead, I was immediately asked to give up my seat for someone who wasn't even present. As a Black man, on Juneteenth of all days, the optics of the situation did not sit well with me. The music was Black. The atmosphere was Black. The culture being celebrated was Black. Yet it felt like preference was being given to someone who wasn't even there over a paying customer who was. Maybe that wasn't the intent, but perception matters, and the experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment. Avoid it at all cost! Zero STARS

Greetings all, it's been a while but here I am. Let's talk about Emily a quant pizza restaurant…read morethat you could easily walk pass and not know what they sold. Today however it wasn't pizza that brought me here, it was the famous Emmy Burger. To begin with the atmosphere of the restaurant is dim lighting a few tables with a reasonable sized bar in the middle of the room. They also have an open kitchen concept where just past the bar you can see the cooks working. My server Inda was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. My burger was excellent, normally I don't eat my burger with a knife and folk, but in this case with all the cheese and sauce oozing down the sides, not to mention the caramelized onions, it was necessary. (If I were home I wouldn't mind having burger juices running down my arm, but other people were eating in the restaurant also). The tiny pickles which I can't remember the name of were an added treat to the burger. I decided to order mine with the loaded fries. Just imagine the ground burger with all the toppings covering french fries and add melted white cheese. Since I was alone I didn't order a pizza because how would I eat it all, but next time I will try the pizza. I don't mind paying extra for a burger when it's aged beef and the taste is great. I definitely recommend this location. There is a fast food burger restaurant next door to Emily's but I can't imagine there burgers compare. I will try them another time and let you know. That's all for now, see you on my next review.

I do have to say that the tables are way too tight next to each other as people kept squeezing in and out. I know it's a small space, but I didn't know I was dining with strangers. Anyways, we started off with the Hot Nguyen Wings ($18), which has a nice spicy glaze from the Gochujang. It also comes with 6 full wings, so you get a good amount of food here --perfect to share with two or three people. The flavor on these were one of my favorites that I'm still dreaming about these. Then we also got The Breeze Pizza ($26) and Emmy Burger ($31). The pizza dough was really good on this with a chewy texture and loaded with toppings. They have so many variations of pizza here that I'd love to try some of the more unique options next time. As for the burger that everyone comes here for, it's good. I can't say it's the best, but it's a solid and very messy burger with lots of carmelized onions. It's also quite a pricey burger, although it does come with some crispy fries. Also, I think the waiter forgot my burger order because every table got their burger before their pizza except ours. When my husband was already on his last slice of pizza, I had to ask if my burger was still coming. By the time it came, I had to eat this by myself and was a bit too full to even enjoy it anymore. Overall, loved the food here especially the wings that I find so underrated. The service was a bit off and it felt like it was just me sadly. Plus, the space is just way too cramped. It looks like others who celebrated their birthday here gets a Banana Pudding, so that's a plus.
