I came here with a friend for brunch at 11:15AM on a Saturday with no reservations and got seated immediately! There was only one other group in there with us for another 20 mins and the more people started coming in. The interior and staff were all warm and friendly and didn't have a rushed vibe to them which was nice. My seat did have a large reran in it but I didn't feel it. I ordered the latkes and eggs which was really good and came with a side of a (liquidy? but not unsettling) applesauce that was really good! Side note: Either my two old reviews are for a completely different place or they've shifted entirely from Eastern European food to healthy Mediterranean in the past 10 years. The fact I wrote two of them makes me think it's the latter which would be interesting. Anyway I was here a little while back for lunch. The people waiting here are friendly and the atmosphere is nice and quaint reminding me a little bit of the more recently opened Nabilla's across the street. The price point for lunch is nice ranging from around $12 to around $16 with the soup addition only being $3 though it turned out to be a mistake to order. Said soup was a Manhattan Clam Chowder. In terms of price point, it couldn't be beat as the portion size was good but the flavor made it not worth it. The tomato based broth was bland and the clams unfortunately were not cleaned properly as there was a lot of grit or something similar so perhaps avoid this if this is a special even for that price point. My main dish was the Salmon Burger with ponzu aioli, muhammara, pickled onions, lettuce, tomato, brioche bun, and fries as part of the kitchen lunch section. The salmon was pretty tasty and it was a good sized piece. However, the entirety of the burger was a tad messy as the aioli combined with the muhammara as well as the moist salmon made it so that it became a fork and knife burger very quickly. There was also a tad too much of the latter and this is coming from someone who loves that red pepper walnut dip. The fries were nice and crispy. It was decent. The burger was good enough and the soup was pretty dreadful. If the price point was higher matching some of the other brunch and lunch places in the area, I would probably round this spot down to a 2 but for the deal and as the burger was still decent enough, I bump it up to a 3. read more

What a gem of a place!!! We came for an early dinner, around 5. The atmosphere is very nice, the lighting was perfect. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We couldn't decide because everything on the menu looked really good. He made some very good suggestions and we were off. For starters, we had birch with meat and mushroom & potato pierogies, both were so yummy!!! Then, for main course, I had orrechiette with veggies in a creamy sauce. I couldn't decide between fettuccine Alfredo and veggie orrechiette so they accommodated me by making it in a creamy sauce. It was a very good size portion. This is such a cute restaurant along Court St. They serve Greek and Mediterranean with a Russian twist as the owners are Russian. Once you're inside, the space feels so aesthetic and cozy with velvet couches and colorful pillows. We came by for a late lunch and there were people working while having a drink here. To start off, we shared the Classic Hummus with Butternut Squash ($9), which came with vegetables and pita for dipping. The dish came on a wooden board and presented beautifully with a nice variety of carrots, cucumbers, and radishes --perfect starter for the table. For the entree, I had the Beef and Feta Kebab ($15.99) from the lunch special. The beef was a bit on the smaller side, but yummy overall. The rest of my party had burgers, which were a nice sized portion with crispy fries. Since we were also here during happy hour (3-7pm), we had a couple Old Fashioned ($10). Everything was good and I was perfectly content with my meal. In the end, we also added a Honey Cake ($10) from the dessert menu. The cake has nice layers between cream cheese frosting and honey flavored sponge cake. It was good, but I was hoping for more of a honey crispy filling. I was honestly quite impressed with my dining experience here and would come back. On both occasions, I went with the same friends. On both occasions, we chose the same table. And on both occasions, we spent at least 3 hours catching up never feeling rushed for the table. First brunch selection was the Shashouka. It was delicious albeit egg yolks slightly overdone. However, the Turkish breakfast is what I recommend and ordered when i had brunch at Kitchen today. We were here with a big group on a summer Saturday and found it buzzing but not overly packed and that was just perfect for a grp get together. I especially enjoyed the different dips, beet hummus, labne, baba ganoush -- name it it was all lovely. The cocktails were all so refreshing too! HOWEVER, we might have come here on an off night. Was very puzzled that they ran out of their Izmir Spritz (how does one run out of a freshly made cocktail?). The staff are very friendly and accommodating- when we visited my husband was following a special diet and they were very accommodating. Wow. I don't usually leave reviews but this place was too great not to share. We went for brunch on Sunday at about 12:15 and walked right in, no reservation needed. They didn't have brunch cocktails on the menu but they made us Bloody Mary's and we saw another table order mimosas. The drinks were great - not too spicy but good flavor. I ordered the Turkish Breakfast (pictured) and my partner had the French toast (not pictured because he ate it too fast). Both were delicious. The ingredients were so fresh, so tasty, and unlike other brunch dishes I've had. It may have been the best fried egg I've ever had. The attention to detail in the dish and the flavor were outstanding. And for the price?? Can't beat it. On top of that, the service was excellent. Came here because we were attracted to their spaced out, and seemingly cozy outdoor dining setup. We checked the menu, found some things we liked, and were ushered to a table. Unfortunately for us, the restaurant's outdoor heaters were broken and we dined in the cold. Little did we know we were supposed to receive blankets as a curtesy of the restaurant! All other tables were offered, except for my guest and I. From what I saw and heard, the other tables never requested a blanket (or knew they were an option)! They were offered them by the same waiter we had! How strange and unfair that was to us... Our waiter wasn't the most attentive nor friendly. As one of only three parties dining that day, we were left with no water, utensils, or napkins for unusually long periods of time... We tried to order their octopus appetizer but, after learning they were sold out, settled for scallops. Not for anything, but two measly scallops are considered an appetizer here? For the price, I expected a few more but I guess I'm paying for the area. The scallops were fine, but the avocado mash was bland. The salmon in the Niçoise salad was eh, but the Niçoise salad itself was not what I was expecting. Hey waiter, weren't potatoes a part of this salad (based on other photos on their Yelp)? The deviled eggs on the salad were overwhelmingly salty. Nothing special about their appetizer or entree to be honest. More so, when it comes to drinks, be aware that there are no free refills (aside from water). Since I checked in on Yelp, we were offered a complimentary dessert. We chose the raspberry tart as recommended by our waiter. Honestly, it was the only enjoyable part of our meal. The large slice was filled with a homemade raspberry jam and a tasty crust to hold all of its goodness in place. Absolutely delicious and worth the try! In essence, while I appreciated their beautiful outdoor display, I don't see myself returning again (regardless of how much I liked their tart). There were no real wow-factor moments during my experience. Also, the fact that 1) only some tables are offered blankets, 2) past Yelp photos of their food looks nothing like what you actually get, and 3) a neighboring diner's complaint that the dish ordered today was incredibly better and cooked differently the day before indicates that consistency is not applicable here. read more

I had my daughter's bridal shower there yesterday. I chose this place because it was recommended on a Facebook group. I went there to check out the atmosphere which I loved. It has tin ceilings , couches and you feel as if you're in someone's living room. I love that. The food was delicious and the price was fair. I chose four appetizers and four entrées for the brunch which was roughly $51 per person . It was $45 per person with a six dollar up charge for the kebab . It was family style. We had feta cigars, meat, dumplings, potato latkes, and the Meze platter for apps. we had the mixed kebab , lamb Ragu, farmers market orecchiette and chopped salad for the mains . The only thing I would suggest is a little more food per order . People had enough to eat, although I did not get to try the feta cigars . But the way it comes out it doesn't represent family style . They serve it on a single plate so I felt that people didn't want to take too much because they knew it was being shared . It's just a little thing to fix . The service was great. They were pleasant and not in your face but there if you needed. I had 20 people and it was nice because they were seating people outside even though I didn't rent the whole space and it did not get overly crowded so it wasn't loud and we felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Food - we ordered a couple of dishes, including the farm bowl which comes with two eggs over easy, brussels sprouts, and cabbage dumplings. The organic syrup was a really nice touch and the only thing that made the pancakes edible. 3. Ambience - The ambience is beautiful, elegant, and peaceful. Think shabby sheik without the shabby! The floral centerpieces are gorgeous and the whole place looks like it's ready for a photo shoot. Weird factor: at the end of our meal the waiter (owner?) asked if we would write a yelp review in exchange for free dessert. What made it even more uncomfortable was that he asked if he could read the review after it was written. "I want to see what you write," he said. This makes it impossible to be honest if you have something negative to say (I assume he knows this, which is why he asked to read it). Also, restaurants are not supposed to bribe their customers. I've been yelping for a long time, and this is the first time something like this has happened. It was so awkward. Overall, The Kitchen is a good restaurant with lovely ambience and wonderful service. Skip the pancakes and skip the bribery, and you're golden. read more

On busy Court Street street parking is limited ($2 per hour). This cozy space is near the corner on Court Street and is ADA accessible. All on street level. Not a huge selection on menu although it was sufficient. Service was excellent. Wait for food to come out was average. Quality of food was great for one (Eggs Benedict with housemade chicken sausage on a bed of spinach). The taste was different with the chicken instead of ham but it worked. The Hollandaise sauce was what made it really tasty. The other dish was slightly better than average (Quiche with salad and bread on same plate). I was happy the eggs benedict came with home fries and small salad (on same plate) as I would have still been hungry without these extras. The other dish came with the same. There is a full bar there so if you need spirits while there, no worries. We don't drink alcohol typically when we go out so I can't comment on their spirits. My fiance and I brought my father and his girlfriend here for a pre holiday dinner and I thought it went very successfully. We started with an order of latkes for the table which comes with caramelized onions and homemade apple sauce. My dad loved this dish, but for me it was ok. (I make better latkes, hehe.) However, the apple sauce was out of this world. I wish they had given us a larger portion of it. It was enough for the two latkes, but barely enough for me to bathe myself in, like I would've wanted. I ordered one of their specials, the shepherd's pie with mushroom gravy. It was delicious. Heavy with thyme. I added a little bit of salt though to enhance the flavors. My fiance ordered the chicken marsala and he enjoyed it immensely! I didn't even know he ate chicken marsala! My dad ordered the spaghetti bolognese and his girlfriend the chicken soup. Both of them were members of the clean plate club. We would've ordered dessert here as well, but they only had one option, bread pudding, which we weren't really feeling. Do note, that when I tried to make a reservation via Open Table, it showed that it was unavailable. However, my fiance called directly and was able to make a reservation, no problem.
