Worth coming here if you're in the neighborhood and want Italian! I came here with two others who are regulars. We ordered the roasted cauliflower and the rice balls to start with. I got the butternut squash ravioli and the other two ordered the eggplant pasta. Everything we ordered was delicious. The cauliflower had a perfect texture and enough breadcrumbs to and sauce to make it tasty. The rice balls were the perfect combo of flavor, texture, and gooey-ness from the cheese. The butternut squash ravioli was actually filing, due to the cream sauce. It helped that I had appetizers as well if I had just ordered the ravioli, I would have ordered something else with it, probably a salad. I didn't try the dish my friends ordered, though they said it was really good. One of my friends informed the waiter it was my birthday and at the end of the meal I was surprised with a slice of olive oil cake and a lovely rendition of happy birthday! I very much appreciate it. Ambiance was casual European eatery. I was enticed by the positive reviews and location. I sat at the bar, and the bartender took my order then disappeared for the majority of my meal. I ordered a glass of pino noir and the Norma which was pasta with eggplant and mozzarella. I was not impressed with the pasta, it was al dente and had bite to it but the portion size was very small. I felt hungry afterwards. I looked for the bartender but he was nowhere to be found. Eventually the waitress came up to me and asked if I needed anything. I ordered another glass of Pinot noir and an order of appetizer calamari. The calamari was very good, tender and well seasoned. Still the bartender did not return. It wasn't until the end of my meal nearly an hour later that he materialized, took my dessert order and quickly brought a check. The dessert was very good. A chocolate torta with cannoli cream. The bill with tip was about $100. The waitress really held it down, the bartender definitely dropped the ball. The portion size and quality of the food was not worth $100 for one person. read more

We made a res but didn't need one as it turned out. It was pouring rain and it wasn't busy, but this restaurant was DELICIOUS!! We loved it. Started with a delicious orange and elderflower cocktail and their yummy bread with marinara (complimentary). That marinara should be jarred!!! Then I had the Pappardelle Ragu (with short rib) and my son had the Rigatoni Bolognese. He said it was better than some he's had in Italy! (High praise from him!) There was a sense of deja vu when we ordered from here via Uber Eats And then I had a light bulb moment--my very first Elite event I attended was at Belli Osteria. A pasta making class held at this little gem in Fort Greene with quaint, cozy and an inviting atmosphere. It was a fun event but unfortunately I didn't make my way back for dinner. Until now. Keeping it simple, I craved Black Pasta with Crabmeat, Scallions, Calabrian Chili and Lemon. Two orders arrived piping hot, well packed, included grated cheese and finally two small dinner rolls. When I unwrapped it, the aroma was amazing. I ate straight from the takeout dish. It was prepared excellently and I detected all the flavor profiles--the Crabmeat, lemon, scallions and finally, the kick of the Chilli. I was blown away by the deliciousness of this dish and will certainly order from Belli again. Judging by the menu, there seems to be an Argentinian influence; not entirely authentic Italian but good. We visited Belli Osteria on Sunday for brunch. We hadn't booked but turned up at around 1pm and were the only people there (the place did start to fill up later). I decided to to the bottomless brunch offer and my partner ordered beers. The bottomless brunch is a great deal as the price, $39, includes any entree from the menu and drinks (which they are super quick to refill for you). I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict and my partner went with our server recommendation of the burger (with the stracchino cheese). Food came quickly and we both really enjoyed our dishes. We also ordered the olive oil cake for dessert, which was probably the stand out of the meal. All in all the total cost came to $120 (including tax and tip) which we thought was good value. Would definitely revisit (we live close by) and recommend if you are in the area and looking for a good value brunch spot. read more

For some, a totally reliable spot serving pasta, calamari, tiramisu, and other traditional Italian menu classics in a wooden space that hasn't been updated in years is incredibly comforting. To others, it feels a little uninspired and a bit pricier than what I'd expect, and I fall into the latter camp. That doesn't mean a place like this doesn't hit the spot every once in a while, and it did on a recent food crawl through the neighborhood. I had all aforementioned items, plus a little aperol spritz. While I don't think much of the decor inside, it's nice they have outdoor seating so I could enjoy my spritz under the sun, the only correct way to enjoy a spritz. All the food was fresh, and they even make the pasta in house, which is always awesome. The staff is quite sweet so I feel hesitant to say anything overly critical. But I'm someone who likes a bit of novelty when I dine out, and here there isn't any. If you're the sort of diner who likes comfort exclusively, Belli is a good spot for it. read more

This might be my favorite meal I've had on my New York visit! Went out for dinner with friends and wanted to try this local place. The decor was beautiful with wine bottles lining the walls and dim lighting from the modern chandelier fixtures. The waitstaff were very attentive and helpful with navigating our party's dietary restrictions. They gave us complimentary bread rolls to start out with, which came with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well as a side of marinara sauce. I got the Pappardelle Al Ragu, and this might have been the best meal I had on my visit. The portions are large, and the pasta is so clearly freshly made with its good chew and texture. The noodles were perfectly cooked. The honey-braised rib meat was so tender that it melted in my mouth. I will be thinking about this dish for a very long time. I got to try my friends' Calabrese and Spaghetti Al Granchio pastas, and both were just as marvelous with complex yet addictive flavor profiles. There were only a couple of other tables filled when we got there, but the restaurant should be filled with patrons based on the food here and the friendly staff. I love Italian so couldn't wait to give this restaurant a try. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. We walked in and were greeted. The place was small but cute. Also you have to try their truffle fries. I had their black spaghetti with crab meat and they aren't skimpy with the crabmeat. I like to come here for a low key happy hour and the vibes are very chill. They provide $10 drinks, $6 beer and wine and $7 bites. They also make great cocktails as well. Came to this restaurant with friends who have been coming for years. Belli is very comfortable and 'hamish', as we say in Yiddish. The service is friendly and professional, with just the right amount of oversight. Food was delicious. My gauge is the red sauce and this one was just the right balance of sweetness and tartness. Funny to think that I used to live about 4 blocks from this quaint Italian restaurant in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn and never went... until years later when I no longer lived in Brooklyn. But I am so glad I finally went. Love the cozy interior (very Brooklyn... IYKYK) and was very impressed with the food. First off, they make a mean White Sangria. So, yeah, grab that sucker and start off your dinner the right way. But let's move on to the dishes that were consumed: Rigatoni Alla Norma with roasted eggplant, tomato sauce, mozzarella & basil) and Risotto Pollaio (chicken, spinach & mushrooms). Both dishes were way bettet than they had any right to be. The Rigatoni had a nice mix of sweet with a mild -oh so mild- kick to it. The Risotto was perfectly creamy and hearty. Both dishes are recommended but I'm sure that the next time I head over I'll be blown away by any other dishes they have on their menu. Cannot wait to head back. Shoutout to the awesome staff! Love Belli! I am always here and finally decided to try out brunch with some friends. We went around 11:30 and were seated pretty immediately for a party of 5. For drinks, I got the bellini and the mimosa, a friend got the bloody mary, and 2 friends got the bottomless offering. I thought the bellini and mimosa were both fine, a little sweet, but cheap for $8 a pop. The bottomless was unlimited mimosas, etc. for 90 mins for $30. Food-wise, we split the french toast for the table, which was a huge hit. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The whipped cream, syrup, and berries really brought everything together. I got the organic polenta, which I assume is to be a riff on shrimp and grits. The shrimp were a little chewy, and the polenta was a little stiff, but the seasoning on it was great. Two friends got the fried fish sandwich and loved it. Another friend got the chorizo and roasted peppers frittata and also really enjoyed it. Overall Belli, as usual, was a hit. It will continue to be a local favorite for me. read more

I had an outdoor dining dinner at Belli Osteria with friends on a humid summer weekday night. The experience was solid despite the restrictions. Food was the high point as the group shared the (i) fried calamari which was fried to perfection and (ii) buffalo mozzarella with butternut squash which was different (sweet taste) but delicious although the main complaint was it was lacking mozzarella in terms of quantity My main was the pappardelle with short rib ragu - which was a homerun. Sauce was rich but not too rich and one can tell that the pappardelle pasta was fresh and homemade. Portion size was above expectations as well. Service was welcoming but not super attentive. Some COVID precautions taken included having grated cheese in individual plastic containers and paper napkins. One was allowed to use the restroom which was inside the restaurant. Spacing between tables was decent. If you want to goto a local spot for Italian, Belli is a solid choice. read more

I've tried a number of dishes here including their bolognese, fettuccine with cream mushroom sauce, raviolis, blue crab squid ink pasta, and flatbreads but their raviolis always stick out to me the most. Often seasonal, you can find something new stuffed in the delicate pockets of pasta every few months. Last month, I tried my partner's sweet potato ravioli, and it was delicious. The quality of the food is always up to par for a pretty affordable menu (priced $10-$15 for apps and $14-20 for mains) and the servers are always kind and eager to help choose a dish or wine. Come here for a date night, a dinner with a friend, or even to wine & dine yourself for a cozy self-care night. Belli won't disappoint! Came here for a friend's birthday on Christmas Eve and made a reservation in advance. Such a fabulous experience! The ambience was wonderful, and the waitress even changed the music when I said my friend might not like the classic Christmas that was playing. She asked me what they would prefer and the rest of the night they played my friend's favorite band. Amazing! Besides the killer service by the waiter and the bartender, the food was amazing. I had the sautéed kale and Manchego burger. My friends love the Arancini, calamari, and all the pasta dishes. Everything tasted incredible. The burger was the best burger I've had in a while. Went there last night with friends. The place is nice looking, rustic, casual and friendly. The waiters (or at least our waiter) was super nice and friendly, but frequently MIA. Initially people came around to take our drink orders, app, and dinner orders. But when it came time for coffee, dessert and finally the bill, we were waiting around, trying to find someone to flag down, and it was getting a little annoying. The food was OK, but maybe in a bid to spice up traditional Italian fare in a more trendy neighborhood, many dishes had jalapeño, chili, or other similar ingredients that you'd never find in Italy. I had to carefully navigate my way through the menu as, a dish might sound good, then I'd read the ingredients, and, do I really want spicy cheddar and horseradish in my rice balls? Some do. I don't. Unfortunate because other than that, the texture and flavor of the rice balls were outstanding. I split the black spaghetti with crab meat with a friend and, even though it said Calabrian chili, it wasn't really spicy and it was really good! So overall, I liked the place but not so much to come back as to me, the menu is an unnecessary mine field and TBH, it's a little bit of a trip for me. For others in the area, and who like those kind of ingredient additions, this might just be the perfect place. read more

I had a work meeting in the area that ran late and ended up having a really nice meal here. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of italian food but you wont hear any complaints from me. I could easily eat here weekly. I started off with the beef carpaccio. Its carpaccio on the bottom and a kale salad on top. Very tasty. I followed it up with their house cabernet and whatever brand it was, it was delicious. I ordered the salmon for my entree and it was similarly delicious, perfectly cooked, and accompanied with a really nice sauce although I forget the kind.
