Pimm's Cup
Aditya S.

This maritime bistro in Fort Greene is one of the most highly sought after brunch reservations in New York City for good reason. The ten dining tables all with firmly pressed white linen cloths are surrounded by nautical elements like a porthole, oak paneled walls, and brass lamps to make it feel like you're in the first class cabin of a ship. The seasonal menu brings together elements of fresh American farm cooking with British cuisine. The asparagus and spring pea quiche was soft and flavorful and went well with a refreshing Pimm's Cup. The smoked salmon with soda bread and chive cream cheese was sensational. The French toast was pillowy soft on the inside with a crunchy shell topped with creamy vanilla and maple syrup. The service was kind and attentive.

Seared squid with cilantro butter and chick peas

I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant. It was moody but surrounded by the large windows. The restaurant had fun decor and could accommodate various group sizes! Our server was super sweet and cleaned off all the crumbs on our table before the next course of our dinner arrived which I thought was a nice touch! The food itself was good - nothing super unique or innovative, but had solid options that could satisfy any palate. My person favorite was the seared squid salad we had! It was a nice balance of flavors and unique! Definitely think for two people we order way too much food, but they also will package your food for you and you just pick it up at the host desk before you head out!

Pros Love the French toast. The vanilla cream is perfect and sets it apart. The quiche is well balanced. The service is very attentive. Cons The sausage feels overpriced for what you get, and the burger is just average. Overall, a solid brunch spot.

Oh, the glory this French toast is Crispy on the outside, pillowy soft inside, and served in a pool of the most flavorful maple syrup ever. If it were socially acceptable, I would've licked the plate The scoop of vanilla cream on top ties everything together perfectly. We loved the eggs too -- served over a bed of garlicky yogurt and chili oil. The sesame bread it comes with is like a flaky pita: chewy, warm, and just ideal for dipping. I'll definitely be coming back here. french toast $21* turkish eggs with flatbread $20* thick cut bacon $15 뉴욕 프토 넘버원 바삭한 테두리에 폭신하고 촉촉한 속, 그 위로 메이플 시럽이 촤르르 흐르는데 그냥 감동이다.

Such a cute little brunch spot. We decided to share everything, which felt like the right move because we could sample each dish. The burger was delicious, cooked perfectly medium rare with that juicy, just right center. But my personal favorite? The Turkish eggs. Absolute saucy perfection. They came with a puffy flatbread that paired amazingly with all that rich, flavorful goodness, though I do wish the bread had been bigger. The sauce was just too good, and I needed more to soak it all up. The true star of the meal, though, was the French toast. Thick and drenched in a maple syrup with a vanilla cream dollop. I highly recommend ordering it almost as a dessert and eating it right away. We waited a bit while finishing the savory dishes, so it wasn't piping hot by the time we dug in, still delicious, but it definitely would've been even better warmer. Definitely a spot worth returning to

WOW! Wow wow wow. April does it again. I have been trying to get a table here since it opened and FINALLY did. Friday night I came here with a friend. It was PERFECT weather, so we sat outside. It really felt like dining in Europe between the vibe of the restaurant and the historic neighborhood. Everything we got was INCREDIBLE (except one thing, which I'll mention later. - Red gem oysters from PEI - Cod fritters + curry aioli - Barigoule artichoke with spring garlic aioli + fennel salami - Mediterranean oyster rice with fennel, cilantro, jalapeno - Halibut with parsley sauce - Lemon tart with creme fraiche Personally I didn't care for the patatas bravas. This is my favorite tapa and I used to order it at every restaurant when I lived in Spain and I would NOT share. lol The patatas bravas here were deeply fried to a very dark color and I didn't like the flavor. I also loved the inside and would dine there. The service was fantastic. We were greeted and offered drinks and olives while we waited for our table to be ready. Everything was timed well and we especially loved our server, Tenor, who made sure to show us a good time and gave great recommendations! Overall, this is not only a neighborhood gem, but one of the best restaurants in all of NYC. I can't wait to come back!!!

My excellent Caesar Salad

Back in Brooklyn! I cannot seem to stay away from New York. I guess it's in my bones. Landing at LaGuardia Airport this morning and a quick Uber ride to my son's Condo in Brooklyn we all wanted lunch - Now! Instead of the usual "Same Ole Same Ole" repetitive restaurants, my wife chose Sailors. A ten minute walk and viola, we were seated, ordered up and ready to go. I had a simply wonderful Caesar Salads that I think I might put it my top five (in the hundreds I've had). I also had Deviled Eggs that were creamy, scrumptious and quite pretty. I did order a something I've never had before - A Miller High Life beer pony style; meaning a bottle of beer the size of my fist. I really liked the size as I didn't have time for a nap. My wife had the lunch Bass with lentils and Swiss chard and came with a creamy horseradish sauce. She loved this dish. The service was stellar, the ambience was causal classy. We both loved Sailor so much, we are planning to come back here during our two week stay in New York!

Hard to get a reservation but worth the wait (or the late night reservation if you can't wait). We had some great food for our meal, including: Chicken Liver Toast with Port + Madeira Beets with Rogue Smokey Blue + Walnuts Striped Bass with Radicchio, Warm Anchovy Vinaigrette + Pine Nut Breadcrumbs Coulotte Steak with Ramp Harissa + Coriander Chocolate Mousse with Bourbon Cherries We also had cocktails but I unfortunately don't remember the names of them - but they were tasty! Everything delicious. I would go again, absolutely!

Sailor was a SOLID restaurant. Properly "sailor-themed" decor with a lovely staff. The food was awesome and the wait staff were very helpful in recommending dishes and which items would go well with each other. All dishes were equally as fabulous, but if I had to pass on one it'd be the green salad as it was simple leaves with a vinaigrette + pumpkin seeds. Chickpea hummus was drizzled with a jalapeño oil that wasn't spicy but offered a great flavor. The artichoke was very tart and refreshing. It had a heavy acidity to it. The half chicken was great-- super tender and juicy with a glazed in a wonderful sauce while manning a tasty skin. I'd definitely stop by for dinner and we're looking at avails for brunch right now!

Cute spot chic in Brooklyn. Expect to eat a lot of bread, though the bread. - Bread with Leek Butter: not bad yet nothing stand out. Came with 4 toasts. - Smoked Arctic Char Pâté with Parsley Oil + Pastrami Spic: it's good but another 4 roasts. - Mussel Toast with Tomato + Aioli: very good if also on toast. - Stuffed Radicchio with Red Wine Sauce - it's stuffed with rice... Sauce it's very good but really didn't look for a carb dish after overloaded with toasts. - Green Salad with Oregano Vinaigrette + Pumpkin Seeds: literally as it sounds... Beautiful leaves dressed in vinaigrette, felt being pushed to order this and should have just said no. - Profiteroles with Ice Cream + Salted Caramel: very good great texture and flavor fo finish. Drinks were good.

The atmosphere here is fantastic and so beautiful. I really like the nautical accents alongside the wall and the bar area is also really cool. I felt like I was in a ship and they have a really nice seasonal pumpkin display outside. Onto the food, I came here for brunch, so can't speak to their normal menu, but my friend got the Turkish eggs, and I got the croque monsieur. While my portion size was decent, I felt like my friends plate was really really small for the price. I'm not sure she was full after the meal. My sandwich turned out to be so much food and cheese that I had trouble finishing it because it was loaded up with a lot of cheese. I thought this was delicious and my only minor complaint is that it was a little bit too acidic. There is a healthy slathering of Dijon mustard, and that paired with the pickles was a little bit overpowering. I would have liked it more if there was less mustard, but I still really enjoy this dish.

Sailor in Fort Greene is a neighborhood bistro featuring elevated versions of classic dishes in a warm, nautical-influenced interior. We went for brunch and started off with famous French toast topped with fresh vanilla cream. We loved the custardy texture of toast and this one of the best French Toast we've ever had. For the savory dishes we enjoyed the fresh green salad with oregano vinaigrette and pumpkin seeds and the famed Sailor burger topped with melted onions and cheddar cheese. This was an exceedingly delicious brunch and we can't wait for our next visit at our new favorite brunch place in Brooklyn

Everything on the menu looked amazing, so I had the waiter choose my dish/wine pairing and he did a great job! I got the pesto with shrimp. The pasta is handmade and the wine is natural from Italy. The pesto is made the day of in the morning. All fresh ingredients. They have indoor seating and then more seating in the back that is the perfect spot. I love the exposed brick wall. This might be my new favorite Italian spot. I will be back soon! Thank you for the amazing experience.

Instead of picking a wine from a menu, you tell your server the flavor and mood of wine you're looking for and they bring out glasses or a bottle for you based on that. The food here is delicious and I was happy to see gluten free pasta options. The pork ragu was good but I was truly impressed by how good the texture of the gluten free pasta was. For me, the show stopper was the branzino. It was seasoned perfectly and the potato crust was a fun touch. The salad was nice and simple, but didn't blow me away. Portion sizes were good, though the prices are on the higher side. The restaurant is a great place for a friends' night or date night, and I'd keep the group small or make a reservation in advanced because it gets busy. It is definitely a more expensive spot, but worth it!
