Greetings all, it's been a while but here I am. Let's talk about Emily a quant pizza restaurant that you could easily walk pass and not know what they sold. Today however it wasn't pizza that brought me here, it was the famous Emmy Burger. To begin with the atmosphere of the restaurant is dim lighting a few tables with a reasonable sized bar in the middle of the room. They also have an open kitchen concept where just past the bar you can see the cooks working. My server Inda was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. My burger was excellent, normally I don't eat my burger with a knife and folk, but in this case with all the cheese and sauce oozing down the sides, not to mention the caramelized onions, it was necessary. (If I were home I wouldn't mind having burger juices running down my arm, but other people were eating in the restaurant also). The tiny pickles which I can't remember the name of were an added treat to the burger. I decided to order mine with the loaded fries. Just imagine the ground burger with all the toppings covering french fries and add melted white cheese. Since I was alone I didn't order a pizza because how would I eat it all, but next time I will try the pizza. I don't mind paying extra for a burger when it's aged beef and the taste is great. I definitely recommend this location. There is a fast food burger restaurant next door to Emily's but I can't imagine there burgers compare. I will try them another time and let you know. Everyone comes to Emily for the burger, but the real star is Hot Nguyen's Wings! We came by on a Sunday evening and were seated right away. I do have to say that the tables are way too tight next to each other as people kept squeezing in and out. I know it's a small space, but I didn't know I was dining with strangers. Anyways, we started off with the Hot Nguyen Wings ($18), which has a nice spicy glaze from the Gochujang. It also comes with 6 full wings, so you get a good amount of food here --perfect to share with two or three people. The flavor on these were one of my favorites that I'm still dreaming about these. Then we also got The Breeze Pizza ($26) and Emmy Burger ($31). The pizza dough was really good on this with a chewy texture and loaded with toppings. They have so many variations of pizza here that I'd love to try some of the more unique options next time. As for the burger that everyone comes here for, it's good. I can't say it's the best, but it's a solid and very messy burger with lots of carmelized onions. It's also quite a pricey burger, although it does come with some crispy fries. Also, I think the waiter forgot my burger order because every table got their burger before their pizza except ours. When my husband was already on his last slice of pizza, I had to ask if my burger was still coming. By the time it came, I had to eat this by myself and was a bit too full to even enjoy it anymore. Overall, loved the food here especially the wings that I find so underrated. The service was a bit off and it felt like it was just me sadly. Plus, the space is just way too cramped. It looks like others who celebrated their birthday here gets a Banana Pudding, so that's a plus. read more

We had a reservation for 3 on a Friday night and were seated as soon as we arrived. The restaurant is small and was really busy so would recommend booking, at least for weekends. We ordered the hot wings to start and then the Emmy Burger and the Trio House Pie to share for our mains. The wings arrived quickly and really packed a punch of flavour. The portion size was generous, enough for 3 of us to share, and overall it made for a great starter. We had a nice break between our starters and mains arriving, which we appreciated. When they arrived though all of the main dishes were delicious! The burger was so juicy and all of the flavours together worked so well, I can see why this is considered one of the best burgers in New York. Shoutout to the fries that came with the dish as well, they were so moreish and none of us could stop eating them. The pizza was more of a Neapolitan style pizza but the dough was tasty and we all thought it was an enjoyable slice. We ended the meal with some espresso martinis and the s'mores calzone. The martinis were great and the calzone was a great dessert, it was just a bit too much for us after all of the food (clearly had eyes bigger than our stomachs). All in all I would highly recommend Emily if you are looking for a casual restaurant with good food. We all had 3 or 4 drinks each, along with the food, and the total bill (including tax and tip) came to c$300. I've walked by the restaurant Emily here in Clinton Hill Brooklyn 100 times and never recognized it for what it is: a really good cafe / restaurant making excellent food! It opens at 12:00 noon for lunch and I was there at 11:59. I got the "A" table for the five of us and we all jumped all over their famous "EMMY BURGER" made with Pat LaFrieda dry aged beef, EMMY sauce, caramelized onion, Grafton cheddar, on a pretzel bun with cornichon & fries! Yes it was a feast for your eyes and palate. Us five devoured these burgers. This restaurant is very popular and fills up quickly. The service was attentive, the ambiance is Cafe Stylist and the food was excellent. I remember Brooklyn in the old days with Peter Lugers Steakhouse being the only reason to come this borough to eat; man........have things changed now. Visited Emily during my NYC trip and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I ordered the Dante pizza, Emily pizza, burger, and Caesar salad . The crust on both pizzas was perfectly chewy and charred, and the flavors were super well balanced. The Emily pizza stood out for its sweet-savory combo (that honey hits), but honestly, each item held its own. The burger? Insanely good, juicy, rich, and perfectly cooked. There was a party of 2 that had all their food by the time my husband and I sat down, and a party of 4 that ordered a few min before we ordered. There were about 2 take out orders while we were there, so nothing crazy was going on. The waitress/hostess and bartender spent more time on their phone than paying attention to the customers. We couldn't get their attention for a side of ranch for almost 10 min because they were gossiping and on their phones. Then when the check came, the audacity to have the minimum tip at 20% when the service was trash. The Emmy burger - for $35 and the hype about one of the best burgers around, we were let down. The burger was good, but we weren't WOW'ed it was just a solid burger. Not worth $35 in our opinion. The bun was really good, meat juicy, bacon was delicious, but the burger overall was just okay? It just wasn't anything extraordinary or memorable. We wouldn't recommend coming here just for the burger. Burger came with fries which was really solid. Fries 5/5. The sauce it came with, we were not a fan of. Caesar salad - EXTREMELY salty. We wanted pepper for the salad but couldn't get our servers attention (of course). The pepper honestly might have changed our opinions, but it was just so salty the way it was served. We had to keep drinking coke to help with the salt. Ranch - this was disgusting. I've been to the other Emily locations and I usually love them. It was my first time at this location. And it was definitely different than the other ones. I want to say this is a skinny girl Emily I don't know if that's necessarily true, but the pizza had a thin crust and that makes me think that it was healthier lol. But I will say I would pick the other locations over this one. Their Wings is an absolute must, and they actually really appreciated their salad. I am a typically a loyal girl to the colony, but I decided to try something different. I forgot the name. I did get their burger as I always do but this burger had caramelize onions in it, which basically overpowered the taste and didn't give me the vibe I was looking for. Emily is hands down my favorite restaurant for pizza in Brooklyn. Of course, you can't leave out the scrumptious Emmy Burger! The staff is always friendly and the vibe is cozy. I've never been disappointed by anything I have ordered and indulged in while dining at Emily's. My favorite pizza is The Emily. It's a white pizza with mozzarella cheese, finally chopped pistachios, truffle sottocenere, and honey. You might think pistachios and honey don't belong on pizza. Try it, and I can't imagine not loving it. The crust is thin with a good crunch, overall it's absolutely sublime. It's always my go to pizza at Emily's although, each pizza I've tried has been really good. My two second favorite pizza's are the Famous Original Dan's - a pink pizza with, vodka sauce, oregano, and mozzarella cheese. It isn't overpowering, but so yummy. My favorite red pizza is, the Modern - double pecorino, onion, and Zoe Tong Chili Crisp. The Raw Broccoli Salad, is the salad I tend to order the most frequently. It has Asian pears, dried cherries, radish, peanut and a great miso dressing. The Emmy Birger absolutely lives up to its hype and all the excellent reviews. Served on a pretzel bun, which is delicious, the burgers are very large, but it's hard to leave it over because it's so good. The caramelized onions and house sauce works to make burger perfection. I've heard chatter about the burger at this spot for some time, so when my best friend wanted a birthday dinner near his bar hang in the area this was a perfect opportunity to try it out. Thanks to the team for being so responsive and open to our larger party in the small space! Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and we were excited to try everything. We started with the Shishitos, Strawberry Salad, and Watermelon Salad- this spot really has their sauces down. Both salads were bright and tasty, and we ended up just keeping the shishito dip cup at the table for whatever else came. Next was the burger and the wings. The burger was good but wasn't my favorite: granted, we split this, so maybe I just didn't get the seasoned quarter, but the carmelized onions and sauce on it were good and the bun so chewy. The wings, however. The WINGS! I've been thinking about them for a week and a half since trying them. Waking up yet again craving those wings is why I remembered to post this review. We initially got one order to share against our server's advice and had to relent and order another. Such a hit. The pizzas were great too, but honestly I locked in on the wings and don't remember much other than everyone really loved everything else we got. & honorable mention to the absolutely perfect fries! At the end of the meal they stuck a little candle in the banana pudding & we sang happy birthday which was really sweet to let us do even tho we were the last table left in there. 10's for this experience. My husband and I came here on a Sunday evening around 7pm and was seated immediately. The place's ambiance was nice with a fair amount of lighting for me to peruse the menu. Coming in, I was hungry and we ordered an app and each of us got the burger. The cauliflower dish was good! It had a decent amount of veggies (haha maybe should've gotten more fiber in our diet but whatever haha) but the sauce it came with was delicious! However, the star was the burger. The burger was cooked perfectly and the bun wasn't soggy! I especially loved the bun it came with but I don't know if I would want to pay this amount on burgers and fries again. Got the Quinn pizza (white pie) with added sausage and it was sooooo good. So good that my mom who I shared it with, called two people to brag about it. I'm writing this literally right on my couch from getting home from dinner. That's how upset I am with the service tonight. I've been a loyal fan of this restaurant for years, and I've talked about the Emmy Burger to anyone who would listen. I was genuinely excited to come back after some time away which made this experience even more disappointing. From the start, things went downhill. I ordered a mezcal margarita, and it arrived extremely bitter to the point of being undrinkable. I ended up having to ask for simple syrup just to salvage it. Then our burgers came out cold. Both of them. I sent mine back to be rewarmed, and when it returned, it still wasn't fully warm, and it had been cooked well-done instead of the medium-well I ordered. At that point I didn't even bother sending it back again. My friend's Diet Coke was completely flat, which felt like another careless detail on top of everything else. To end the night, my banana pudding arrived in an actual plastic takeout-style container, which was honestly the last straw. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation and price point, this felt shockingly low-effort. I left feeling genuinely let down. I've supported this place for years, bragged about it, and looked forward to returning, and instead had one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. Stopped in here on a Sunday with the family and had a chance to try out a couple of the pizzas and a burger. Had high expectations given how hard it is to get a reservation and living next to Emmy's Square in Williamsburg for years. Of course, this place did not disappoint. Not sure why it's so tough to get a reservation; you could definitely walk in if you're considering it. The cheese and tomato pies were both fantastic, and the burger absolutely lived up to the hype, just in another class. I just ordered a burger from Emily and it is the worst food I've ever had delivered. Yikes. It was cold to the touch when it arrived, but also way overcooked. Also, half of the order was missing. Do not order food from this establishment. I cannot believe I paid so much for some of the worst food I've ever had in Brooklyn. I called to have the problem remedied and was told there was nothing they could do. So, I just paid over $30 for a cold hockey puck on a bun. I wish I was exaggerating, but this burger is shockingly bad. They should be ashamed. Boo Emily. In my 20 years in NYC you're definitely in the running for worst food and service. The wings offered the clarity I needed. The gochujang and tangy ranch sent me into a trance. Crispy skin and just a bit of sweetness cleared the fog in my mind. The spice spoke to me. It told me to get the emmy burger. Oh, what a decision it was. It comes on an aluminum tray lined with parchment paper, crispy, thin fries in their own individual boat, a knife, and the star: a beautiful, brown pretzel bun caressing a perfectly medium rare burger that is dripping melted cheese, caramelized onions, and Emmy Sauce. It comes with a knife. Ignore it, take this meaty masterpiece with both fists and take one huge bite. Do not clean up. Let the juicy burger and emmy sauce drip down your face, onto your pants. This, after all, is a life altering burger. The pretzel bun is chewy, the caramelized onions and emmy sauce bring just enough sweetness, and that burger is jam packed with umami flavor. New York provided me with some great eats. And, it feels almost criminal to say a burger and fries were the best meal I had. But, dare I say, a burger and fries were the best meal I had. We ordered delivery from Emily in Clinton Hill, trying the Camp Randall, Colony, and The Classic pizzas. All were delicious and held up well as leftovers, whether cold or reheated. However, it's not really a classic New York-style pie, and the slice sizes were smaller than what you'd typically expect. While tasty, Emily ranked as the 3rd best pizza on this NYC trip, with L'Industrie and Lucia ahead, and Scarr's trailing behind. read more

This is hands down one of the best burgers I have eaten. Their gochujang Emmy sauce needs to get some award. The colony pizza was also nice; its pepperoni with jalapeños and honey for the kick. The service was great and the staff was accommodating even though we arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation. The food was served within 15 minutes of placing the order. The only gripe I have with the place is the noise. I need to talk on top of my lung to hear people in my party. When 25+ people are doing the same thing in a closed quarters, it gets to you. The street was less noisy than inside the restaurant. I would come back here for the food though. read more

Ok first it took me over a year to get a reservation. Every time I tried to go there were no reservations or they closed early. So finally I got a reservation and my expectations were high. The staff is really attentive. Location is small so you will hear your neighbors conversations and may hit them as you enter and exit your seat. As for the food, the burger is really good. I don't think it's worth $31, but still a tasty and filling meal. The drop in star was for the chicken. I expected wings that I saw on the yelp reviews so i asked for them when ordering. The waitress didn't tell me that it was more like chicken fingers. That was disappointing but the flavor was on point. The chicken was juicy and the sauce definitely has a kick. Those 2 dishes and sparkling water is about $70. A bit pricey, but I would recommend you trying it at least once. I may come back to try the pizza next. read more

My husband was watching videos of the best burger in NYC and has ruled out that we should go to Emily last Saturday. I agreed because it's been on my list for years, so booked via Resy and off we went to Brooklyn. The vibe of the place was nice and relaxing. Music was good too. The rating is mostly driven by the burger. We've both asked for medium but it was still medium rare and lots of pink. I don't mind, I have my steak medium rare anyway. I guess I had really high expectations of their burger but it was just okay. I was so excited and really wished it was better. Probably just an off day but when you've been waiting for years to finally experience it and it doesn't really meet expectations, it's quite a letdown. Here for the well known Emmy Burger. This was a burger with complex flavor. Onion aioli with the Emmy sauce provided a subtle sweetness to the burger, but at the same time without overpowering the flavor of the beef. Extremely juicy and fatty(you can taste the tallow flavor (in a good way), I was surprise that the pretzel bun was able to hold its shape after that flooding. The bartender was a chill guy, friendly. This place was worth the hype/wait time! We waited an hour and still had to sit at the bar but let me tell you, best pizza in the city! So good. Great selection. Bartender was really nice. This place is incredibly small. At the bar we were basically hanging over the table behind us but whatever. I'd say best spot to sit is the corner at the entry or outside if it's not cold. Highly recommend. This is a nice vibe for pizza and drinks. I also want to note how hot and fresh the fries were. Normally string/skinny fries like that are never hot or get cold fast these did not. Quality of ingredients and dishes was solid, hence the 4 stars. But overall the flavors were out of balance, very very heavy. The burger didn't have much to cut the heaviness (I'd expect more pickles or a sauce to balance out the thick patty). We tried the birria pizza which was yummy but I'd prefer it as a taco since the carb-y pizza crust wasn't necessarily adding anything besides more weight to the dish. read more

Is the Emily Burger worth it? Absolutely. The sauce packs a powerful, mouth watering, drip down the chin punch that will make you dream about this two-hander. The pretzel bun is the perfect vessel for this hefty sandwich and I love the onion and cheese topping. I see why this is one of the top burgers in NYC. It's worth adding to your burger bucket list. Atmosphere is intimate and probably better for parties of 2-4, otherwise you'll get stuck at the small bar in the back. But even then, the burger is still worth it. Service was good. 4.8/5 read more

Great Brooklyn atmosphere and nice & joyable waitstaffs. Almost full on weekday dinner time. Menus in dinner time are limited for several pizzas and one hamburger. Appetizers are called "Plates" 7 kinds including Karaage are also limited. I need to admit that it's a quite good hamburger but pricy for the food. I've been here twice now since my friend put me on. Let me start off by saying that i'm not a big pizza girlie and it's only ever so often that I'll crave a slice or two. However this place? Stamping it as my official go-to place whenever I want my pizza fix. The inside is fairly small so expect to be close to the table next to you. Im talking the kind of close where you'll have to shift your table to get in and out. Service is relatively fast and all of the waitstaff are pretty friendly. We started with the calamari bc whenever there's calamari on the menu, i'm ordering it! The breading was perfect and the calamari was flavorful and crispy. I enjoyed the duo a special mayo and some marinara. (How all fried calamari should be served, in my opinion). For our entree we decided to split the colony pie. It's a red pizza with cheese, pepperoni, pickled jalapeños and topped with some hot honey. Whoever invented honey on pizza is genius because it's the perfect combo of salty and sweet. The pizza toppings to cheese to sauce ratio was perfect. Personally I think one is good to share between two people but if you're a group -- def opt to get more! Although we were feeling stuffed, the table next to us convinced us to get the banana pudding for dessert. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
