    Lamb Shawarma Hummus

I've wanted to try Miss Ada for a while and it's honestly my top Mediterranean spot in the city I think. It's smaller and has a very neighborly vibe and our waitress was super nice and friendly. No complaints at all there. We got a glass of cava to start for our anniversary (thank you)! And then we ordered quite a few things. We were hungry so we got about 6 plates between two and honestly we were stuffed!! The sweet potato hummus was a real hit and surprise for me. Loved each dish including the cauliflower, octopus, lamb hummus, and short rib skewer. Very flavorful and just overall great. Will be back if I'm ever Shan to get a reservation again.

My friend got a reservation for Sunday brunch and it was bustling when we got there. Friendly staff and no delays in service. We were seated in the back heated patio area. Got to try a variety of plates and enjoyed the merguez the most, but it definitely had a spicy kick to it. Boreka was nice and flaky. French toast felt bit too sweet

Wow this is the best tasting Mediterranean food ever! The bread, the dips, the steak were absolutely perfect!! I didn't enjoy hummus before eating it here. The seating arrangement was tight but it didn't dampen the service that we got. The restroom was downstairs? I'm not sure if there was another restroom but one restroom for the entire restaurant is a bit ridiculous. Overall the space was slightly uncomfortable but the food was very good. I'd still recommend going

Service: 4.7/5 Food: 3.9/5 Price: $40+ Quite a popular choice, we could only get a 5PM resy. I appreciate that the check-in area has heated lamps for these cold winter nights. Deceptively large space, though I didn't get to explore much as we were sat at the front of the restaurant + I didn't venture to the bathroom. We had a super helpful waiter who answered our questions + gave us guidance on how many dishes to order + what portion sizes to expect. Dishes (aside from entrées) come out in quick succession, beginning almost immediately. 20 min in, we already had 1/2 our our order. General consensus of the food: shareable, small portions (think tapas), slightly overpriced (esp skewers), + BOLD flavors (esp the soup). But maybe I'm not appreciating all of the ingredients + craftsmanship. *recommend What I Ordered: - Pita Bread*: warm + fresh, probably, one of the best I've had - Chicken Shawarma Hummus: regular hummus, dry chicken - Fried Cauliflower: not super crispy, tangy sauce - Jerusalem Artichoke Soup: OH MY, so many layered FLAVORS + a growing spice, small + we split, liked the crunchy almonds - Salmon Belly Skewer*: so tender + flavorful, too much labneh plated, keep your pita for this - Kanpachi Crudo*: met expectations, fresh fish - Winter Greens Salad: tart vinaigrette dressing, good contrast to the rest of our meal, sweet figs even in winter - Hanger Steak (medium rare): came out too rare, not sure the cut, probably overpriced

Came here for bunch on a nyc trip, we wanted to go Theodora but it was closed and this place is owned by the same group --------------------------------- Food: my friend and I split 4 small plates for brunch, we ordered the lamb hummus and whipped ricotta and shakshuka and a egg/pickle sandwich dish, we both really liked the lamb hummus and the whipped ricotta. The whipped ricotta was so unique, it was creamy with hints of rosemary and honey. The lamb was tender and the hummus tasted very fresh Recommendations: whipped ricotta, lamb hummus Affordability: well priced Ambiance: we sat in the outdoor heated patio which was lovely given it was a freezing weekend Service: great! Good for: small plates/shared meals, brunch

This is now one of my favorite steak and eggs. The whipped ricotta is so good and very similar to Theodora's though it is served with pita bread. Service was great!

so so divine! Located in the heart of Fort Greene lives Miss Ada serving up some delicious bites. Came in for Saturday brunch and had a lovely time! Started with the Harissa Spicy Bloody Mary, and then proceeded to order just about everything. The shukshukah fell a little flat to me, but everything else was really great. Ambiance and energy are very cute for date night, family visit, etc. Will be back for dinner!

    Crispy Cauliflower

Solid overall. I had three small plates, which was a sufficient quantity for one person. The falafel was my favorite - strong notes of garlic and tasty accompaniments of pickled vegetables and harissa. The crispy cauliflower was also very good, with a satisfying crunch and nice sour notes from the amba. The Israeli salad hummus masabacha was nothing special - decent hummus topped with some diced veggies in a light dressing. Every dish was of pretty good quality, but nothing stood out compared to other similar Mediterranean restaurants. The whole meal worked out to $66 with tax and tip, which felt a bit overpriced.

The food here is excellent! I was thinking about it days later. It's not the easiest reservation but doable. I definitely recommend it. Had the lamb hummus, chicken skewer, the salmon. I ate it all.

I've had brunch here before and have been meaning to come back for dinner, so it seemed like the perfect place to celebrate my birthday! We ordered the short rib hummus, octopus skewer, yellowfin tuna skewer, and salmon. The short rib hummus and yellowfin tuna skewers might have been my favorite but honestly I loved every dish. The short rib hummus probably surprised me the most because I wasn't expecting that much short rib and the pickles complemented the dish really well. Of course it paired perfectly with fresh, warm pita. Unfortunately didn't have room for dessert, but really loved this meal and hope to be back soon! It can get pretty busy, but weeknight dinner reservations are pretty feasible.

Managed to snag a reservation day of, just by checking the website. It was a late summer day and still warm, so we opted for the patio seating. The patio was a bit of a Rorschach blot, I guess. After living on the California coast for many years, I don't vibe with gritty urban dinginess that well, so I found it unkempt in a way that doesn't seem befitting for an expensive restaurant. I get there's an informality to it; but c'mon, make it a little nicer and more cozy. I was similarly turned off by the chef's towels used as napkins. I realize it's supposed to be cheeky but it felt cheap and the texture in hand wasn't good. Meanwhile my brother said the people in the mural on the back wall looked sad. I thought they looked like they were enjoying a night out. Their eyes were painted to resemble hooded Jewish eyes like our own. So. After taking drink orders, the waitress took the order of every other table, even people who had arrived later than us, before coming to us. Again, it's an expensive restaurant, so why not have more staff. We waited a long time to order. This felt rude. The food was totally excellent though. Each dish hit just right. The ceviche was was full of flavor with spice from serrano oil. Baba ganoush was earthy and wholesome. The short rib hummus was one of the best bites of my whole New York trip. I loved my mezcal cocktail. The food was five star, but the atmosphere and service brings it down to four.

I was blown away with the food here! The best Mediterranean in Brooklyn hands down. We got a few plates to share: whipped ricotta (10/10), hummus with lamb (12/10), stracciatella salad (10/10), chicken skewer (good flavors but only 3 small pieces for $20, not worth it), halloumi skewer (8/10), kofte kebab (8/10). I'm still obsessing over the lamb shawarma!! We were siting outside but not in the cute little patio, still the service was great and everyone was nice.

I also had multiple chums from Brooklyn endorsing this spot, so everything seemed to be lining up for an excellent night. Unfortunately, I'm starting to think you just can't go to places like this on a Tuesday, but maybe it was just a bad night. I got here way before my chum due to our work schedules, literally 45 minutes or so. It wasn't 6pm yet and while there were definitely customers in both the bar area and the backyard outdoor section, it was pretty chill. I was able to secure a small table next to the bar right by the open window in the front (probably because the sun was glaring down on it, which wasn't an issue 10 minutes later) and just chilled out for a while, enjoying the excellent warm weather. This was the highlight of the experience, which unfortunately my chum did not get to enjoy. A lot of this was just unfortunate timing, I think. As I was waiting for my chum, people were practically streaming into the bar, probably about 25 or so, which I watched with increasing trepidation. Pretty much all of them wanted a drink, and there was only one bartender. They did not fix that problem until well into my chum's visit, so there was literally just the one guy making a gazillion drinks for about 45 minutes. Just no reason for that at all, especially given that they DID have the resources to divert and had a young woman back there at a certain point. But once I saw how crazy it was getting, I tried to pre-emptively order a second round, which he forgot about and had to ultimately be reminded of. It took literally half an hour to get the second drink. When my chum arrived, she went up to the bar to order her own drink and some of the arancini. She came back 10 minutes later and said she wasn't given the opportunity - THAT is completely insane. If you're so swamped that customers have to wait that long to even order much less get their drinks, you need help. Not clear where the disconnect was, but what started out as a great experience pretty much crash landed. Really disappointing. The crowd did thin out ultimately but the damage had been done. We were able to get the drinks but didn't bother with the additional app because we didn't want to risk missing a big chunk of the Nets game. So by not being even remotely attentive for a significant period of time, they left money on the table. I will say that the bartender himself maintained his professionalism throughout, and just kept making the drinks. Pretty much the opposite of what would have happened on Bar Rescue. This was on management, not the bartender. The drinks WERE good, which also made the service problems a shame. I got the Witch Doctor, which featured bourbon, rosemary, maple and lemon. Really well made, and appropriate for the unseasonably warm evening - it's the kind of bourbon cocktail made for summer. Would absolutely get that again. And the food was very solid. The star of the night was the arancini, which were featured prominently on the apps menu right at the time and promoted as one of their big selling points - deservedly so. These were honestly some of the best rice balls I've had. The cheese in the middle emphasized the flavors and wasn't too dense or overwhelming, the balls were cooked perfectly, and the sauce (the underrated part of rice balls for me) was delicious. Huge recommend. I also got a margarita flatbread to share with my chum, and that was good as well. Everything was going to come up short to the arancini, but it hit the spot. As mentioned, this was a random Tuesday night when maybe they don't have their full crew ready to rock. Maybe it was a fluke crowd surge? I just don't know, but the bottom line was that they weren't prepared for the customers who came in and were already there, and that's a big problem. If you can't deliver the same quality that you do on the weekends and predictably busier times, then you shouldn't be open that early in the week. Hopefully they figure it out because there's a lot to like here.

I've made it a point to visit every vinyl listening bar that I learn of in town, after enjoying the shared experience of someone curating a select vinyl list in intimate spaces in Tokyo. Few have been able to replicate the experience, but Honeycomb Hi Fi Lounge comes close. That the space is narrow with just a few seats along the bar and a few tables mimics the Japanese experience best, where you can almost have it so the whole room is having one conversation together. The music is the focus. The cocktail menu is rather simple, and my Stormbringer drink, with dark rum and ginger beer was not anything to write home about, but $15 is pretty low for cocktails these days so I'll take it. If they introduced new cocktails to the menu with more interesting ingredients I'd be more inclined to return, but the vibes overall are pretty good and the staff really nice.

My friend and I each order a cocktail, and are catching up. I'm from Brooklyn, however I no longer live here, and this was precious catch-up time with my friend. Then I get interrupted mid-sentence by the old-timer DJ from his low seat in a corner behind the bar. I had bumped the bar with my wrist (bumped my wrist watch as well, not deliberately) and then placed my hand down (granted- more than placed but definitely not slammed), and he decided to warn me that I COULD HAVE made his record skip. It was the Eagles or Santana (far from eclectic, but that's just me). I'm also 99% certain he turned the volume up afterwards, making it even harder to enjoy the company. After that interaction, I struggled to pick it back up with my friend, because I found that distraction very effing rude. When this "4th wall" gets broken down with service, it is hard to then enjoy the space in an uninhibited state. I am all for the Tokyo Vinyl Bar vibe, and I'm also for also giving talent an outlet to share their collection, but this interaction colored my experience, and I closed out after one drink and went elsewhere. I mentioned this to the bartender, and he was kind to offer a buy-back of a rare whiskey, which I did accept. 5 stars for the bartender, but 1 for my experience. I don't like to be harsh or unnecessarily cruel, but this is what it is. I have visited in the past and enjoyed myself. Nonetheless, I certainly won't be coming back.
