Ordered the Hot Mess cheeseburger and my friend ordered the same without cheese. The kitchen mixed up our orders. I realized after a couple bites that mine was missing the cheese. When we brought it to the counter, they offered to remake my friend's order correctly, but refused to simply swap his untouched burger to me, even though that was the one made correctly for my order. The man working there did not seem to want to own up to the mistake and did not suggest any resolution. He just told me I was out of luck. I paid for a cheeseburger, didn't get one, and the fix was sitting right there. Disappointing way to handle a simple mix-up. Stopped in for a bite before a Nets game eight the girls and had the best time! It's a pretty small space but it has this great cozy, locals vibes that I love. A great mix between young families and adults stopping in after work. We each ordered our own sandwhich, I went with the original chicken sandwich which was juicy and delicious, and for the table we ordered a bunch of different fries. My personal favorite were the curly fries, always the best choice imo! But the cheese fries were also a top contender, maybe a cheese curly fry to be a real winner? Recently visited here before a Nets Game. I do try to switch up my order but I know what I love here. The Hot Mess is so good. It's a classic burger topped with pickled cherry pepper & bacon relish. I'm obsessed with the bacon relish. I wish they sold it separately too. I also ordered the Jerk fries and added the jerk aioli which I'm also obsessed with. I did try my friends jerk chicken sandwich. I didn't love it as much as the burger. But overall the hot mess is highly recommended. If jerk is too spicy for you, try the truffle fries. I ate here in 2023 while visiting NYC from California, and I've been fantasizing about the Hot Mess burger ever since! The bacon relish and pepper jam work so beautifully together with the heaping helping of melty American cheese, it's gotta be in the top three burgers I've ever had in my life. I also had the Irish coffee shake and a fruity lemonade, both of which were also excellent. The atmosphere is chill and casual (counter service), but still fun and vibrant. I tried Harlem Shake and I must say it's a great late night delivery option and they also have a few different drink choices. The burgers were definitely tasty and the Frozé was refreshing. Everything was packed well and they use extra covers on the drinks which I loved. My burger was pretty darn good. Definitely looking forward to visiting this location. read more

I love a good burger and shake and am so glad that Harlem Shake has an outpost in Park Slope! We stumbled upon it yesterday and were intrigued (I grew up in Harlem but well before they opened their first one there). The retro Art Deco vibe was immediate and transported you to an earlier, simpler time where you could take it easy and have a good time. You order at the counter (Steph took our order, and he's a pleasure to talk with) and then take a seat while they prepare your meal. The Boys To The Yard lunch special (just $16!) gets you a double cheeseburger (the patties are from Pat LaFrieda!) or buttermilk chicken sandwich with fries and a milkshake (a nod to song "my milkshake brings all the..." ). Oh, wow! The burger was smashed, crispy on the edges and so juicy with pickles and onions on a Martin's potato roll - pure heaven! The chicken sandwich, also on a potato roll, with coleslaw and hot honey was equally good. The fries were a perfect complement, and the shakes were so thick and creamy - awesome! This is elevated fast food, reasonably priced, made from great ingredients that taste fantastic! I had tried some of the food from an eater event before so i came to try since i was watching a game nearby. The hot mess had 2 patties which i didnt know but it was really good. Mildly spicy. I stopped by Harlem Shake in Park Slope and was seriously impressed. It was my first time trying their smashed burgers, and I'm hooked the option to choose different seasonings really lets the flavors shine. I'm always a burger fan, but add a little jerk sauce and I'm completely sold. The spot gives off old-school diner vibes, which makes the experience even more fun. It's totally family friendly as I always see people bringing their kids here afterschool for a bite. Since my first visit, I've been back three or four times and tried the crispy chicken sandwich and their specialty hot dogs both delicious. I love a burger joint that offers gluten-free buns. Their smash burgers are really well-made and don't feel too heavy. I only wish their fries were also gluten-free, but unfortunately it's in a shared fryer. The milkshakes are also very tasty. Given the portion sizes and the freshness of the food, it is reasonably priced. The customer service is also really great. They are always ready to tell you about the specials, allow you to use the bathroom, deliver you the food quickly. I ordered this place for takeout because I heard they had good burgers and I'm glad I did. I had the Harlem Classic with beef burger and it was delicious and tasted homemade. Those beef patties were made with love and well seasoned. The bun was nice, soft, and buttery. I added onions and that was a nice touch. The curly fries were fresh and crunchy but the chipotle mayo was a little too spicy for me. Nonetheless, this still was a good side item. Lastly I had the salted caramel shake and added Oreos. The shake itself was nice and creamy, but I couldn't really taste the caramel. It tasted more like a cookies and cream shake with a hint of caramel. Definitely adding this place to my list read more

There are so-so milk shakes and then there are the luscious milkshakes. He had the cookies and cream shake which was, rich, flavorful, frothy, a frozen perfection. My partner had a classic hot dog and we shared the fries. The fries were nice and crispy with, the skin on. I had the "Snoop Dog." An all beef hot dog topped with chili and cheese. I was all set to do the Hippy Harlem Shake and as u I started my rotation, the order arrived. Boy, my hips did an about face. Let's start at the top ( see my pics of what's delivered vs. what was shown on restaurant's website). I ordered the Harlem Impossible Burger, the website shows 2 patties and charges $13 ( huge appetite today, skipped lunch). What I got was what I expect from 7th Street Burger, a flat smashed burger. The cheese wasn't melted, a few onions and pickles in a soggy "brioche" bun. Sorry but a complete rip off. The only plus was the burger taste was good. My friend ordered the Classic Harlem Burger, another listless flat burger with same condiments as Impossible. The curly fries were stuck together and the "spicy " chipotle mayo was bland. Here's the worst part, we both paid extra for BBQ sauce and what was served was I have no idea what taste it was but not BBQ. I also ordered the 12 oz Black and White shake.. that tasted like pure chocolate. Please take lessons from Shake Shack on how to make a proper Black and White.. I'll leave it there. Harlem Shake is #1. Great balance of toppings, sauce, the patty is so solid, the buns solid too and I freaking love their shaved onions. Everything else is completely unremarkable. Fries, super mid. Shakes, like not sweet? Normally Id say thats a good thing cause most fast food spots are the opposite, but theyre not sweet ENOUGH... which is unusual. What else.... Hot dogs, like fine but nothing to write home about. Oh and the non burger sandwiches are solid. Their turkey burkers are good. To sum it up, their main character energy is strong. Looks very retro and vintage and it's in the corner of Fifth Avenue of Park Slope. They have a location in Harlem and Park Slope. The Park Slope location has outdoor seating with a tent for shade and also a dog bowl for water in front of the restaurant. I ordered the Harlem Classic burger (beef patties with American cheese, onions, pickles, and special sauce) and Jerk Fries with Jerk Mayo for dine in. The burger came out looking very nice especially the bun is not wrinkly or messy. The beef is a thick cut and very juicy. Jerk fries on the other hand were kind of plain or bland. I couldn't taste the jerk seasoning and it lacked the spice. I should have opted for regular fries instead. Ambience is very casual and fun. Good for families and couples. Utensils and condiments are available on the counter so you don't need to ask the staff for ketchup or mustard or napkins. The chili cheese fries were amazing. There was one employee that stood out to us. She gave great customer service and was very helpful. Okay, we were looking for a CONSISTENT and affordable smash burger spot. This is it. They serve up the best cheeseburger and surprisingly it's not too greasy!!! My main issue with 7th street burger is that it is so greasy it soaks through the bun. Never had that problem here. We order takeout from here once a week or so and it's never let us down. My family was in the mood for burgers so we decided to check out this place that opened in Park Slope. I didn't even realize it was a chain but just thought it's always nice to check out a new restaurant in the hood. Came here on a Friday night for an early dinner and it was very quiet so we snagged a booth inside. They do have seats outside but honestly I'm over sitting outside in December and eating a cold burger. Anyway, we ordered their Harlem Classic burgers, truffle fries, sweet potato fries and 2 shakes (oreo and peanut butter flavor). The burgers (smashed style) were flavorful and so good. The truffle fries were amazing and a must get. The sweet potato fries were ok but a bit soggy to my liking. The shakes were thick, kind of like custard style but very good judging by how my daughter and husband refused to share. Overall, a great experience and great food. read more

I got a shorty and paid for extra flavor plus $.50 for whipped cream. I love a good smash burger and these folks make a great one! Perfect crispy bits on the edges, well cooked on a soft bun with fresh toppings. Got the classic cheeseburger the first time because I always like to start with what a spots famous for and it didnt dissapoint. Also got the fries which were solid. Second time I got the burger with the hot mess topping which is a bacon jam with chopped cherry peppers so it gives the burger a nice kick. The jerk fries were also good.
