Under cooked salmon is a bad sign...
JC B.

The bad is Peach's is not black owned; the old black lady in photo is a prop.... The bad is they can't cook a simple salmon dish gently sautéed. Salmon is not cooked like meat, medium, medium well! My salmon came back from pink "rare" to pink medium; low grade...really any good cook can cook salmon properly! Tried the fried chicken first and it tasted like wood....all three Peaches are cute but a scam to the soul food community and black grand mothers!

Great vibes and great food at Peaches! The welcome staff was great and got us a table promptly as we had a show to attend at the Brooklyn Paramount. We had the Branzino, salmon, short rib and grits, and fried chicken. All of the dishes were 10/10. Especially the short ribs and grits. Will be back for brunch in the future

We've tried other Peaches establishments and have always enjoyed the food. This newer location was no different. We easily got a table for Saturday night, and found service friendly and efficient and the food and drinks were good. The space itself is large and modern, though there was a doorknob missing on the entryway to the bathroom area which made things feels pretty run down (there is a disused food hall in the other side of the building which shares bathrooms). All said, we will return because the food and drinks were good. I hope they stick around in this space which admittedly seems kind of cursed - nothing seems to stick around for long for some reason. We had the Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Oxtail Fettucine and Short Ribs and Grits. The complimentary croquetas were tasty too. We also drank the Brownstone Punch and Marietta.

I think I forgot there was another Peaches restaurant! I'm still a fan of the OG in Bed Sty but I really like the layout and the fanciness of Prime ! My sorority held a private event here and they pull out all the stops ! While I didn't attend , the following day I was at the restaurant for dinner with friends . It's cozy and there's a bar on one side , with some high chairs and regular seating . I was able to be seated before my friend arrived but it was early for dinner . Not sure if your entire party needs to be there to be seated . I ordered a version of the French 75 and it was delish ! I wish I took a pic of the Caesar salad as it was the best I have ever had !! It was enough for one but also sharable . I had the oxtail fettuccine and it was delish ! I was torn between that and the shrimp and grits but in every location of Peaches I go to this is what I order so I got something different . Some things to remember . This is downtown Brooklyn . Nowhere to park unless you happen on a side spot and most drive around forever looking for a park . Take the train or the bus . It's on Ashland in Gotham Market . A block from Atlantic Terminal . I will definitely be back . Oh and they have take out .

Absolutely loved Peaches Prime! Wonderful service - courteous, quick, and very accommodating by sitting us 30min ahead of our reservation time. The menu has some fabulous choices. Highly recommend the oxtail fettuccine - super tender meat in a flavorful bolognese sauce, the raw oysters - the chile crisp sauce is amazing, crunchy and with just the right amount of heat to enhance the oysters, and the beet salad - the herbed ricotta is delicious! Loved the modern interior as well.

I'll give this place a solid 3.5 if that was an option. Let's get into why.... #1. We ordered calamari, oxtail fettuccine and the fried chicken with French toast. - the calamari was a no for me. It was fresh but too rubbery. The batter literally fell off of it once you bite into it. - oxtail fettuccine **please request some Parmesan cheese on the side so you can sprinkle on top. Overall this dish was good. Decent amount of oxtail. The gravy could have been thicker. It was watery, like the pasta and oxtail was swimming in it. Flavor was good. I would order again. - the fried chicken did nothing for me but baby the French toast was everything. Syrup wasn't even needed. Absolutely delicious. #2. Drinks- we had the rosemary sangria which was quite refreshing. We ordered the carafe that allowed my gf and I 2 drinks each and then we added an extra glass each. When I make my own sangria I plan on adding rosemary to it. #3. Service- friendly and attentive. No issues here. #4 Atmosphere- Spacious even though some tables are too close for my liking. Good thing it was raining outside and it was calm inside. You're actually able to hear others speak at your table. #5 Dessert- My homegirl order the sponge cake. I don't do dessert but it was A1. Not sweet at all. Peaches I'm not mad at you at all but there's some room for improvement when it comes to some food items. I'll try them again though

We were able to walk in on the weekend and be seated immediately. The restaurant is large and clean. The service was good, but I did finish my water and nobody came around to refill it for awhile. We ordered the salmon cake, chicken and toast, and oxtail tagliatelle. The oxtail tagliatelle was my favorite with a good portion of oxtail. The salmon cake was good, but expensive. The french toast was not overlly sweet and the chicken was okay. Overall a decent spot for brunch, and even better that we were able to walk in on a weekend!

Stopped by for dinner before seeing my favorite band finally perform in the US for the first time in over a decade. Everything was just peachy (haha, get it?). The Broiled Lemon Sole came with so many plump, juicy pieces of crab in its spicy crab butter that I was afraid we'd ordered the wrong dish. The signature Oxtail Fettuccine was as umami, hearty and succulent as one could hope for, while our side of Whipped Potatoes was classic comfort. Even the Pound Cake with blueberries and whipped cream that we...pounded back (haha)...came perfectly warm and comforting. Restaurants like these that offer bistro-quality fare at izakaya-level prices are increasingly rare in NYC. That one should have such ample seating, beautiful decor and close proximity to a popular venue is even rarer. Color me happy. Or maybe that's just the afterglow of seeing the best band in the world tear down Brooklyn.

CENTER CUT RIBEYE

Came on a Friday evening with little expectations because this was a last minute find but one of the best decisions because it was amazing atmosphere and great service. I really enjoyed everything. We started off with a complimentary appetizer which was nice. We ordered the grilled octopus which consist of golden potatoes, kale, scallion, lemon, and harissa aioli. It was pretty good and not overcooked at all making it smooth and buttery. For the oxtail fettuccine, I liked the meat but pasta was too al dente. The star of the show was the CENTER CUT RIBEYE with Balsamic Red Onions, Whipped Potatoes Prime-1 Steak Sauce. I asked for medium rare and it was pretty good. The sauce was top tier which tied everything together. Also, I ordered the passion fruit lemonade which was super sour but I did not mind. Solid restaurant 5 out of 5.

Oysters Rockefeller. Delish.

Peaches Prime is located in downtown Brooklyn not far from the hotel where my relatives were staying. I thought the food was fabulous. I had Oysters Rockefeller, the Lemon Sole with spinach, the Butter Pound Cake and a Passionfruit drink. The food descriptions on the menu were spot on. They did not disappoint. The baked oysters did indeed have a crunchy coating along some tangy garlic and cream sauce. The lemon sole with spinach was both a tasty and healthy entree. I could have eaten the entire large slice of pound cake but I shared it. It was warmed and toasted on all sides, served up with blueberry compote and whip cream. It was delicious. To my surprise, it was even better than I expected. The passionfruit drink was great, too, for anyone looking for a non-alcoholic beverage. Our server was, Nahuel, was wonderful. He was friendly, charming and helpful. The only drawbacks were the long wait times between each dish and the trains running underground. That's not on the wait staff. The food was worth the wait. The rumbling and vibrations of the trains underground took us a bit by surprise. At first, I thought it was an earthquake. We asked Nahuel about it. He said something humorous that made us laugh. We chalked it up to one of those "only in New York" sort of experiences. It is a lovely restaurant. The modern and peaceful vibe counter balances the experience of having trains rolling through under your feet.

02/21/25 From food, to ambiance to service A+ all around. First and foremost our server Gina was the best. Radiates exemplary customer services. Her menu knowledge was spot on and did not disappoint. She was warm, engaging and attention to details top notch. Enjoyed our Amuse Bouche. Appetizers; Octopus; one of thee best I've had. Cooked just right. Firm not too rubbery and taste was absolutely delicious. The sauce was chef's kiss. Shrimp Scampi: well seasoned firm and sauce super tasty. Toasted bread great accompaniment to dip and soak up the sauce. Oyster Rockefeller; crispy well seasoned and one of best I've had. The sautéed spinach complimented it well. Ricotta Toast. Not my favorite, however if you love beets and ricotta this dish is yours. Mains: Oxtail Fettuccine: Tasty well seasoned. It was pretty good, that amazing wow factor wasn't there'. But it a good selection. It didn't have that oxtail consistency I'm used to. But I can appreciate it was tender and well seasoned. Lemon Sole: stuffed with crab. Not a lemon person but the combination mouth pleasing to the palate. Definitely a winner for us. Peri Peri Branzino; interesting sauce. I wasn't a fan, however the meat minus the sauce was tender and flavorful. I would recommend to try at least once. Dessert: Key Lime Pie: Although not my think it was yummy and if you're a lover you will enjoy. Pound Cake: This had more of consistency of a muffin. The blueberry compote was a nice touch. But overall it felt like a blueberry muffin. Drinks: Passionfruit Margarita: a bit too tart needed something to balance out the passionfruit. Mocktail: Desert Pear Spritz. Refreshing and yummy. I can see alcohol added to make a great cocktail. Overall amazing experience I would definitely return.

Ok the spot is classy with a modern, minimalist aesthetic to it. The service was great, quick and just enough attention without being overbearing. The presentation of the food was chic and the taste didn't disappoint. The menu is more of a New American, not like the original Peaches.

My favorite was their chicken, eggplant and salted fish claypot dish. It's one of my favorite dishes in general and they made it very well. The meal includes geoduck sashimi, jellyfish & mixed appetizer, soup, steamed fish, crab & lobster with sticky rice, abalone, steamed shrimp, noodles, and veggies. Some dishes were bigger than others. Both times I came they didn't have abalone so we substitute the dish for garlic scallop (which I prefer). The menu also says it comes with house special dessert but we never gotten any. For any seafood, it's market price plus they add a 30% processing fee, which is strange to me. For a Chinese restaurant which usually does not charge tax if you pay with cash, they charge tax here whether you pay by card or cash. The restaurant is pretty big and spacious. They have pretty large tables, suitable for parties and celebrations. There's a private space upstairs with 3 large tables for parties. The restaurant is pretty slow in the afternoon.

Every dish was incredibly unique, featuring exquisite flavors that truly "dance" on the palate. Squid (5/5): Cooked to absolute perfection, it was bouncy, chewy, and paired with a sauce that tied everything together beautifully. Steaklette (4.75/5): A fantastic dish. The sauce was once again the highlight, and it paired perfectly with the potatoes. My partner found it a bit salty, but for me, the seasoning was just right While they are currently Michelin Recommended, I truly believe they deserve a Star. I told our server this when she asked if it was our first time dining here and she found it similarly puzzling. That said, this sentiment is one rarely expressed these days, as Saint Julivert's longevity puts it in what I'd imagine to be an exclusive, highly coveted class of restaurants that have stood the test of time in the face of changing trends, the pandemic, rent, etc. And perhaps more importantly, it has stood the test of time *and* maintained its high level of execution and quality. Saint Julivert is a neighborhood spot as memorable as it is unassuming. We came here at around 7:30pm on a Saturday night. I live quite far from Saint Julivert which is the main reason I hadn't gotten here before this past weekend. Luckily, a friend who recently moved to the area was having a party, describing the offered fare as "drinks and light bites" -- code for "not sufficient for dinner" and an opportunity to find a fun restaurant nearby to try beforehand. Walking up to Saint Julivert was a bit of a thrill for me -- both because of how long it's been on my radar and also because it's nestled on a block that otherwise seems completely residential. The space itself is much smaller than I imagined, very cozy, friendly, and down to earth. We had, in my opinion, one of the best seats in the house, which was a pair of high tops by the kitchen with loads of space for folks (read: us) who like to order a bunch of smaller plates to share. To start, we got a round of cocktails. I had to go with the Kanpai Martini (vodka, gin, shochu, cap corse, guindilla), as I pretty much always start with the martini if one is featured on the cocktail menu, and my partner got the Puerto Escondido (mezcal, beet, grapefruit, jalapeño) which is a super tasty spicy mezcal marg variation. I then tried the Diamond District (mezcal, persimmon liqueur, cocchi americano) which is a variation of one of my other go-to drinks, a white mezcal negroni. No complaints here. Food-wise, we obviously leaned into the seafood here heavily. Tried to sample as much variety as possible and I'd say we did a pretty impressive job. We weren't able to finish everything but we tried our very best. Truly everything was exceptional so my usual letter grades aren't all that necessary because it was As across the board. Eats, below: Amberjack w/ tomato water, crispy shallot, shiso oil Ideal first dish, definitely had some amuse bouche qualities, being both light and bright. The fish was incredibly fresh and the concept overall with sophisticated with use of texture and flavor that was impressive in its subtlety and execution. Chicory Salad w/ blue cheese, walnut, persimmon, coffee cider vinaigrette Our one veggie of the night and it was well worth our while, fresh winter greens with that tried and true blue cheese/walnut combo made unique by the coffee cider vinaigrette which emphasized the sweet and earthy notes of the dish and brought everything together beauitfully. Wild Shrimp w/ salted kumquat, poblano pepper, pomelo If I had to give an award to most unique of the night, it would have to go to this dish. I've had a dizzying amount of seafood over the years and I've been lucky enough try to a lot of different types of things in a lot of different types of ways and this one stands out. Something about the flavor and texture of the mostly-raw shrimp with the delicate and aromatic citrus elements. Just impossibly fresh, bright, and delicious. Octopus w/ pipián verde, roasted tomatillo juice, cucumber, serrano A preparation I'm used to seeing served warm but I enjoyed it cold just the same. The overall flavor profile was predictable but the elements contributing to it were less so. The green mole was delicious and overall this dish was a perfect bridge between the lighter and the richer, a segue so perfect it was as if it was divinely ordained. Squid a la Plancha w/ pine nut, maitake mushroom, tinta, poblano The first of two warm dishes we ordered. A nice complement to some of the lighter dishes we had earlier in the meal that were more aromatic/vegetal/gardenia vibes, this dish was earthier, more umami and grounding. Jerked Hamachi Collar w/ mango-pickle mayo, lime Hard to finish with this because it was probably the richest of the dishes and we were already somewhat full by this point, but I ate as much as I could because it was just that good. The mango-pickle mayo was just sublime, the fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned beautifully -- altogether a playful and powerful way to end the meal.

It was the $252.86 plus a TIP of $45.20! I immediately returned to discuss the discrepancies. The tip that was supposed to be $38 was now $45.20! The waitress then said she would credit my account. Had she given me the REAL receipt with the $45 TIP then I would have given her $50 CASH but since she only produced the REAL receipt after I came back (how ironic) and told her she charged the wrong amount, she would have received $100 TIP. But since the short Indian waitress made that slick remark, she did not receive anything! After the disrespect and blaming the machine and giving me a fake receipt? I decided to leave! The spinach and cheese börek was very good and paired well with the eggs and yogurt. I also really enjoyed the sucuk (pan-fried sausage) and the kızartma (potatoes with eggplant and tomato). On the sweeter side, the akıtma (thin pancakes) with toppings like mixed berries, sweet tahini, jam, and cream was a fun "dessert" element. Overall, it was a really enjoyable and unique brunch experience. I liked the family-style format, and it felt like a good value for the amount of food, though we personally wanted a bit more protein. Tucked in the quiet end of Red Hook right by the water, is Brooklyn Crab - a lively, coastal shanty themed restaurant serving up some seafood favorites... but on a cold day in early February the abandoned and frozen tiki bar downstairs and the residue of snow salt on the staircase leading to the restaurant only served as a faint reminder of brighter, sunny days that await us this summer in New York. I plopped myself on the bar seating as cold gushes of air swept in with the opening door. The heating was struggling but so were we - it really was just that cold. However dire these conditions were, I was here for my weekly ritual - two dozen oysters on the half shell. Trish the bartender was a great sport. We chit chatted about the weather and her California upbringing and everything in between. She was great company and a delight to talk to. When the oyster platter arrived I was met with instant joy. Nicely sized oysters, neatly shucked, briny and beautiful with the accompaniments I like. A cold glass of beer I had been slowly working on in the background. They only have the $1 Sunday oyster happy hour during the winter months. Staff simply can't keep up with the shucking when it's busier. I deeply enjoyed this meal as the sun shined in the glass enclosure and it started to warm up. Far away I could see the waves crashing on the dock, as I guzzled down the ocean's perfect food. I also ordered the peel and eat shrimp and they were very good. Nicely seasoned, with ample amount of lemon wedges to make this meal truly one of a kind. This is one of the best oyster happy hours in Brooklyn, and even though I am traveling away from home right now, I can't wait to return and bask in this sunlit bar one last time this winter. Highly recommended!!

Our waiter provided great recommendations and offered me a small sample of a wine I had heard him recommend to another table after I had already ordered my orange wine. In terms of food, the bluefin tuna special was very fresh. We enjoyed the hush puppies and the swordfish belly. The fry basket had thin rectangularly shaped fries which were amazing. The only thing is I wish it came with more than two pieces of shrimp and two pieces of fish. The chargrilled oysters were also very good. Lastly they offered free bread pudding which was a perfect way to end the night.

I truly loved the restaurant's ambiance -- it was very casual, welcoming, and had beautiful natural…read moresunlight throughout the space. However, the menu was quite limited. The catfish sandwich was delicious, flavorful, and had a great sauce. The catfish basket, on the other hand, was lacking a bit in flavor. The mac and cheese was good, but nothing that stood out. The oysters were fresh and enjoyable. The restaurant does provide high chairs, which was appreciated, but there are no changing tables in the bathroom, so it's not the most family-friendly option for parents with young children. The staff was wonderful -- very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Overall, it was a nice experience with great service and a lovely atmosphere.
