After traveling, this place was a couple of blocks away from my lodging and I was definitely hoping that they had something on the menu that I could eat that late. Thankfully, they did. Walking in, it gives dive bar vibes in a good way. The decor was cool and the bartender was of great assistance. I ordered the lamb burger and it was delicious. The tzatziki sauce was creamy and complemented the lamb. Although I ordered it well, it was not dry or rubbery. A hotdog (which seemed to be a kosher beef dog- I did not eat it) and fries were also ordered. Both are child approved. I have already told people about this place and it is on my list to revisit.

A solid option if you showed up at red Hook Tavern and the line was around the block. Two 8 two did not disappoint. A solid burger, no frills, and bangin onion rings. Throw a beer with that and some cheeky bar banter with the regulars and I had myself a lovely evening !

Two 8 two has been on my radar for a couple years now as I've been hearing amazing things about their burgers. Yesterday, I finally had an opportunity to swing by and try one since I was in the area! I chose the Half and Half burger, which consists of a bacon and beef blend, along with hatch chiles and a delightful house sauce. I was really pleased with the flavors, but at $15 it was a bit steep pricewise given the size and that it didn't come with any sides. I'll likely come back to try another burger in the future - there were a lot of great options!

The overall atmosphere is great for the area, the drink is strong enough considering it's a Long Island iced tea. The only drawback is that one drink was $21! $21! Ok, I understand business costs and whatnot, but come on, at least try to make me feel good about being bent over. By far the most expensive drink I've gotten since visiting from Los Angeles and not that I'm underwhelmed, but it could have been at least $7 less. My literal only issue is the price, but other than that, amazing place. The atmosphere is warm, music is great, had the Mets game playing in the back. As expensive as that Long Island was, I'd definitely come back here when I'm in Brooklyn again.

Loved this place. Very friendly and inviting. Food was awesome- especially the burgers fries and nachos.

Really wanting a burger but lower carbs we came here on a weekday. It wasn't busy but we had just made happy hour. It being a bar there was no problem finding a seat and seeing a game (if that's your style). The tap selections were good and my burger was chargrilled to perfection. Everyone in my party can vouch for a delicious meal.

A bit pricey, the portions could be larger but the food is great. The double cheeseburger pictured is $21, before tax or tip. Granted, I added a few things (the grilled jalapeños are a nice touch). The burgers were cooked exactly as directed. The bun was crispy on the burger side and tender on the outside. Service was friendly & acceptably timed. I'll return but my budget isn't big enough to be a regular here!

This is a consistently good place to enjoy a burger, milkshake, or even a beer. There is a bar, and outdoor seating on the patio. Plenty of seats inside, too. The burger choices are tempting, and the cooks do a great job. The servers and barmen are friendly. This is a neighborhood treasure right on busy Atlantic Avenue. My server was Alexis, and he is a whole vibe.

Double Cheeseburger. $16 I think. Messy but very tasty.

I stopped here at this place around lunch time a while back as the local good burger spot to me (Henry Public) isn't open for lunch. Had their Double Cheeseburger consisting of two 5 oz. patties topped with two slices of cheddar , pickles , red onion and two8two sauce. It was I believe $16/$17 which is a bit expensive especially as it didn't come with fries but the burger was of excellent quality. Very tasty juicy patties and the sauce was tasty. I think it had mayo, mustard, and some other stuff but I am unsure. My only other issue perhaps was that the buns were a bit small so it was quite messy compared to other spots. Would go back and try the lamb burger. Nice bartender also. Mid/upper 3.

Unfortunately this place fell very flat. Leading with what we liked: Their mocktail offerings were good, promising a 0.0% ABV which is hard to come across when mocktails are offered. They serve oysters, which adds to that aphrodisiac experience of the oh so 'wow this is a former brothel!'. The bartenders and servers were fast and very sociable with the more sociable customers. The immediate entrance is very tight, and it was uncomfortable navigating the space. We expected there'd be more seating in the back, which there was, but it was limited and not offered to us until we asked for it. We honestly had no clue where it would be and only asked because of how this place was advertised. While it was comfy once we made our way back there, it was reminiscent of a lounge style bar space that almost any bar could replicate with the right room and budget. We didn't feel as though this hit the spot and were let down by this experience. I'm not sure if I can judge the menu of drinks/ foods as expensive, but we left hungry bc we couldn't justify some of the prices. In addition, I've seen a lot of complaints about the volume of the music: it's definitely loud at the front but a lot lower in that back lounge space. It's as loud as any bar's music level would be, but truth be told we were expecting music that matched the vibe of what was advertised and yes, at a lower volume.

It's classy but not too fancy and has enough space but doesn't get too loud. They have a nice happy hour menu from Tuesday-Friday from 5 to 7 as well as all day on Sundays which has very decent prices such as an $8 old fashioned among other things (see the photo.) the bartenders I've had before have been friendly with some good recommendations. Outside of their wide selection of cocktails which run the gamut of liquors, they have a nice wine selection, a handful of craft beers, and a very small food selection. The first time I was here, I had one drink which was the excellent Star of The Ice Snow for $17 with Iwai 45 whiskey, brie-washed Carpano Antica, Fernet Branca, barrel-aged orange bitters, and sassafras bitters. It had a a bit of bitterness, some sweetness, some spice, and some light mint from the fernet and was a pleasant complex drink and was certainly worth it from the price. The second time I was here was just this evening where I had two drinks. I first went with something that I was thinking of getting the first time which is their outstanding Vivian Darkbloom for $15 with Union mezcal, lime, pineapple, charcoal, Velvet Falernum, and lime bitters. The drink has mild citrusy sweetness as well a bit of smoke from the mezcal and is probably my favorite drink I've had here though the other drink I had the first time gives it stiff competition. I asked the bartender what he recommends and after a small discussion, he said either The Bell Witch (which is a gin and chartreuse cocktail with a strong herbal flavor) or what I went with. Said drink was the Under a Cosmic Cloak for $16 with rhubarb infused rum, Trois Rivieres rum, Smith & Cross rum, yerba mate, lime, grapefruit, and whey. The bartender said that it wouldn't be overly sweet as the rum was milk washed and this was indeed the case with just a mild sweetness and some fruitiness. There was a light herbal flavor otherwise presumably from the mate as well as a light citrus note and overall, it was good though definitely the least complex of the drinks I've tried and probably my least favorite but was definitely not a bad drink. The drinks here are reasonably priced for the quality, the bartenders are friendly, and it is classy but not overbearingly so. I can see why it's popular and I wish I stopped in more.
