Service and food always great , been a long time customer for years and it's always my go to for a late night pick up , no matter what time you go food is always great on the fourth after heading back home super late stopped to get food for the family and I on the way back home so delicious I ordered myself the shrimp and my kids got the chicken tenders and my s/o got the steak sandwich, if this is your first time going please try the roast beef although I did not get it this time the are famously known for the roast beef Sandwhich and the corn fritters are a must as well

Roll'N'Roaster you have my heart. This is my favorite spot to stop after the beach, best $5 pizza! Even better if you get it with pepperoni. The clam chowder is also amazing, but my absolute favorite is the turkey sandwich with gravy and cheese. Heaven on a bun. And it wouldn't be a roll'n'roaster stop if I didn't get an iced tea, perfection. Such fun atmosphere and always quick service.

Nothings changed and thats what makes it amazing. The commercials were classic for Knicks games. The roast beef and cheese is a south Brooklyn staple. On a hot summer day the lemonade is everything.

2nd time here and I enjoy it every time. This is the Brooklyn version of In N Out with the simplistic and great tasting menu options. The service was very quick and organized. Had a very nice diner ambiance vibe to enjoy the food!

What can I say about this staple? Amazing! I came in on a Thursday night around 7pm and the place was crowded. I ordered roast beef sandwich with cheese, roast turkey with cheese, fries with cheese, and mozzarella sticks. Needless to say I was hungry! They took my order and I literally counted about eight people in the kitchen making food plus five people packing and serving food. I didn't wait long for my order and took it home. I sat down and enjoy a feast. Let's start with the mozzarella sticks. They were perfectly fried and didn't have a frozen taste. The red sauce does need a little work, but hey this is a place for roast beef. On to the roast turkey sandwich with cheese. The roll was fresh, the turkey was NOT dry, with the right amount of cheese. They are not cheap with the turkey. Now the fries cut perfectly into circles and the cheese they use is amazing. It's the same cheese you would find in a Philly Cheesesteak. The roast beef sandwich was wow. The roast beef was the perfect color of red, never dry or over cooked with a great amount of cheese. The roll was fresh and it was a very nice portion of meat. Overall it's a 10 across the boards from the service, to the food, to the price. The tables and floors are super clean and overall a great place to dine in. See you soon! By the way go there on your birthday and spin the wheel, you may end up with a special gift.

Had seen a video of this spot pop up on my FYP and when I showed it to my Dad he told me he grew up going there when he lived in Brooklyn. Such a cool, nostalgic spot. Heads up: parking lot was horrible, so definitely plan to try for street parking. Got the classic roast beef sandwich with pan drippings on the side and it was good. I've never had gravy or anything like that with my roast beef sandwich so it was completely different taste for me, but it was delicious. The place itself felt like stepping back in time though. Would I drive all the way back for it? Probably not. But if I'm in the area again would I go back and try the burger which was also highly recommended? Possibly, if I got a good parking spot!

We don't spend a ton of time in Sheepshead Bay because it's a little out of our way, but we love a post-beach adventure at this Brooklyn landmark. It's huge, it's affordable, it's the most casual (good for when you're in a damp, sandy bathing suit), and it rocks a menu that hasn't changed in the past decade, and maybe not in the past half century. I don't know anywhere else that you can get a glass of wine for $4.95 these days, or a beer for $4.45. Order whatever sounds good to you, but know that: 1. You should get cheezburgers. I personally prefer their simplicity to the roast beef, even if the latter is what they're known for. 2. You should also get roast beef. At least once, and definitely dipped, or with the gravy on the side. The gravy makes it. 3. The rolls are all baked from scratch. Appreciate some fresh bread, in a world where almost all affordable burgers come on a potato roll. Yeah, sometimes it may not be quite as fresh as others, but I still love it. 4. Yes, you can get cheez on anything you pleez. And you should. 5. You should add on something you've never gotten every time. Wings, clam strips, a fried shrimp cup...It's all going to be way more affordable than you think, and likely the best or the worst. Someday I'm getting the bottle of Moet for $59.95. To celebrate just being at Roll-N-Roaster. 6. You shouldn't sleep on the pizza. Yeah, it's not GREAT, but it's pretty solid, and it's somehow $4.95! It's thin crust and it's perfect for kids. And this isn't a personal pizza, it fed four kids with some leftovers. Unbelievable steal in 2025. 7. You should get at least one milkshake (to split, probably). They use a full pint of ice cream in each, and they are amazing. 8. Lastly, you should go on your birthday so you can spin the wheel. I don't care if you aren't trying to drink $4.45 beers on your birthday, it's a tradition. Roll-N-Roaster is a classic. Get in there before it's gone, or you'll regret it.

Growing up in Queen taking the trip to Roll-N-Roaster was a birthday tradition. You spin the wheel, get your Roll-N-Roaster coins and have an excuse to come back again (as if the food wasn't enough of an excuse). Now that I've moved away it's become a requirement to stop in. Their milkshakes are to DIE for. They're packed with ice cream but blended into a smooth and silky drink. You won't find fries like this anywhere else in Brooklyn. They're round crinkle cut fries that are the perfect ratio of crispy and salty. Make sure to get them with cheese!!! Their mozzarella sticks are gooey and have a cheese pull that stretches for miles. Every other side on the menu is fantastic so you really can't go wrong. Plus they give you a pretty large portion. The star of the show is the Roast Beef Sandwich. Like the fries you're gonna wanna ask for it with cheese. It feels like Roll-N-Roaster hasn't changed its interior since opening in the 1970s and I wouldn't want them to because that's part of the charm. I wish I had been around when they would roll out your food on skates.

Onion Rings, Roast Beef N Cheez, Chicken Tenders, Golden Corn Fritters, lemonade

Heard about this place forever and finally went, the vibes were cool but the food just felt like cafeteria food to me. My friend and I took a trip and this place is pretty deep in Brooklyn, wanted to do a comparison with Brennan and Carr and for me, both were kind of a let down. Also, I found this meal crazy expensive, everything total was just about $40. Root beer, Lemonade, roast beef, onion rings, fritters and tenders. The food: Roast Beef N Cheez with Onions- This was the main reason for the trip and while the place makes their own bread, I felt this sandwich fell kind of flat. The meat cheese and onions were OK, nothing to write home about. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=2Ioy1A4wNpMeEWKgSO2Ihw Onion Rings- These were good rings, prob the fav item of the day, they were crunchy and not oily. Golden Corn Fritters- Pretty standard, just tasted like canned corn with a thick batter. Feels more like something you give to kids. Chicken Tenders with Sweet and Sour- I didn't like these, the batter was weird and the chicken was dry, tough and pretty lifeless, the sauce tasted really cheap and didn't help at all, hard pass. Lemonade- This was actually excellent, I really liked the lemonade.

Dropped in for a quick lunch for Mother's Day. Love the 1950's feel of this restaurant. Super clean space and pleasant service. I had the fish fillet, it was good but wouldn't have again. Sampled the smash burger, really juicy and tasty. The lemonade!! My fave go to beverage, freshly squeezed and perfectly sweetened... sweet potato fries were yumm. Also had 2 orders of their famous wings ( brought some home to the kiddies) they loved it. It wasn't enough haha overall a great experience.

I haven't been to Roll-N-Roaster in years. I decided to go since I was in the area. I ordered the Orangeade for myself and the Lemonade for my nephew and niece. We had Cheese Fries, Fries, Pizza, Chicken Sandwich and a Burger. The pizza was overcooked and it didn't taste good. Everything else was good. I enjoyed the burger. It had bacon and BBQ sauce. The service was fine and the food didn't take long to be ready. It wasn't crowded and they played nice music. It was good to visit after all of these years.

There's no place like roll-n-roaster!!! BROOKLYNS BEST! This place is a staple! You must come here! The roast beef sandwich is out of this world! Delicious! Fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, onion rings are just a few of my other favorites! Oh gotta get a lemonade, so tasty! & if you go on your birthday you get to spin the wheel! Service is fast! Lots of seating inside. My husband got the best one- $25 chip towards next purchase! So cool! If you spend a certain amount of $ you get a free thin crust pizza. It's delish too! LOVE this place so much! Go check them out!

Food: This is an iconic roast beef sandwich restaurant in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. The food is delicious, especially their roast beef sandwich and turkey sandwich. I would highly recommend trying their roast beef sandwich. The roast beef is moist and juicy. They add gravy to the sandwich which makes it even better. I think this place better than Brendan and Carr, another famous roast beef sandwich restaurant in Brooklyn. You can request to add raw or cooked onions to your sandwich as well as cheese. The turkey sandwich doesn't seem like anything special but is also very tasty and served with side of cranberry jelly. The turkey is moist and perfectly cooked. The place offers many other items including a fish sandwich, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fries, pizza, corn fritters, milkshakes, and other desserts. Service: The staff are really friendly and work efficiently to put together your order. Ambiance: This is a fast food style restaurant so you order your food at the counter and find your own table. There's no table service. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant and a few tables outside as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot!

The service is impeccable, the wait staff is well versed in the menu and will offer help if you don't know how to truly get the best sandwich that you can. The star here is the roast beef sandwich, it's moist and flavorful and cooked absolutely perfectly. My suggestion is to order it with cheese and have it dunked in the au jus. I prefer what they call a "knife and fork job" where the sandwich, the meat the bread is all dunked and comes out in a river of au jus. They make amazing sides, I typically go for the onion rings and corn fritters which are tasty, fried nugget of sweet corn and they are delicious. Do note, they only take cash and sometimes it takes a while to get your food but in the end it is so very worth it.

Curious about the "famous" Brooklyn roast beef war -- yeah! it's a thing! -- T and I decided to see for ourselves. (Once I try the competition I'll weigh in with my vote.) With a reputation built on beef we ignored other options and researched how to order. You can get double dip, "dingle-dangle" (don't ask), cheese/no cheese ... it was confusing. We both went with rare roast beef, cheese and onions. T asked for his double-dipped in gravy. Yum! Short of five stars, but yum nonetheless. We ordered two unhealthy sides which added to the decadence of our lunch: corn fritters and onion rings. If you only get one, go with the fritters. The place is busy. You'll likely have to wait a bit -- but I found it interesting to watch the guys at the counter work. Service was friendly and attentive. Unlike someone's comment about paying blind -- not so. We were given a check with an accurate breakdown of what we ordered. Prices are posted. And yes -- cash only.

A Longtime Favorite That Never Fails to Stand by Its Quality!…read moreI have been a loyal customer of The Original John's Deli for many years, and it remains my absolute go-to place whenever I am craving a genuinely satisfying, high-quality sandwich. In a city filled with endless options, finding a business that operates with true integrity, courtesy, and respect for its longtime customers is rare--and the owners, Harry and Ari, exemplify what outstanding customer service should look like. Recently, after a rare off-day on an order, I communicated with the team, and their swift, dignified, and honorable response proved why this local institution has earned its stellar reputation over the years. They truly care about their craft and value their patrons. The sandwich I enjoyed today "Daniel LaRuso" was a definite 10/10--fresh, substantial, delivered pleasantly warm, and prepared to perfection. The combination of turkey breast, creamy avocado, savory feta cheese, rich eggs, and a generous portion of flavorful olives came together beautifully, with every single requested seasoning and condiment executed flawlessly. And as always, their coleslaw is an true masterpiece: exceptionally fresh and creamy, perfectly balancing acidity with sweetness, which results in an amazingly delicious taste. The cabbage has a wonderfully delicate, tender bite rather than a heavy or harsh crunch, easily making TOJD's coleslaw the best in the neighborhood. To top it off, the delivery was incredibly fast and courteous, accompanied by a refreshing beverage as a very magnanimous gesture from Harry and Ari. If you appreciate a generous, delicious sandwich and want to support a local business run by decent, honorable owners who stand behind their food, this legendary deli is as good as it gets.
