Grew up in New York, but have been in Texas for 50 years. With very few exceptions, Italian food in Texas is not particularly /ut B/ /hen I/ /tic I/, is overpriced, and fails miserably when compared to Northeast Italian food. So, eating at this restaurant before the Bruce Springsteen concert, the other night was a thrill. Ate with lifelong friends. We shared several appetizers, including meatballs, a margarita, pizza, bake clams, and spicy shrimp. All were delicious. I had a seafood pasta with squid ink that was memorable. Lots of seafood and the pasta was fantastic! Nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Good service. Frankly, I think the prices were cheaper than what I pay in Austin area, and the food and venue were authentic and much better than in Texas! read more

Nice patio seating, pizza was fine, service was good. I would have given more stars except the billing feels borderline dishonest. They auto added gratuity-- 20% for our party of 3. Not sure what the menu currently says, but the menu from just 3 months ago said it's 18% for a party under 6. Maybe they've changed it. Not sure. This is the first restaurant we've been to with 20% auto gratuity for a party under 6. But the borderline dishonest part is that the check that you sign tells you in tiny letters that tip was already added, but has huge font for additional tip and written out tip calculations, so it is very easy to tip 40% without noticing. Sometimes I do tip extra generously, but I don't want to feel like I was tricked into doing it! Looking thru reviews here, I see other people also experienced this, including people in small parties who were locked into the 20% when it should have definitely been 18%. :/ So close to a good experience, but ruined by tricksy billing. read more

Patsy's Pizzeria delivers where it matters most: the food. I stopped in with a party of three around 430pm. The Margherita pizza was perfect. Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience. read more

Stop by after walking the 5th Ave Festival. The staff was friendly and we were seated immediately. They have a full bar which must be good because there were no seats at the bar. I ordered peppers and onions hero with fries and a side of marinara. Very tasty next time I will add cheese. The fries were also good thats a plus! Overall a good experience. read more

We stopped here before a Liberty game, inside was packed with Indian a fans! How rude! We got seats outback on the patio, it was sweltering hot but they had fully functioning stationary fans. Service was so efficient we had two people ask us for our drink order. Two delicious frozen margaritas. To eat we had Lasagna, an order of meatballs and side of truffle fries to share. More than enough for two people. During our meal we also ordered a Diet Coke, never received but was still on the check, so double check your bill. Also notable the gratuity was included, 20%. Idk if that's a standard NYC thing to automatically include it. Weird flex. Typically they will do that on Long Island for parties greater than five. But it did have it written in bold so you don't double tip, or I suppose if you want to add more. read more

I had a wonderful time here for dinner with my former manager and coworker. For appetizers, we ordered fried Calamari, fried mushroom balls, and the Burrata Prosciutto di Parma. I particularly am a fan of Fried Calamari and I give it a 10/10 here. I had a couple of glasses of the Rose Wine which was sweet to perfection. As an entrée, I went with the chicken parm along with penne alla vodka pasta. It was phenomenal. I'm looking forward to going back soon in order to try the Margherita pizza, froze cocktail, and the salmon entrée. The restaurant is nice and cozy with tvs inside to watch a sports game. I have never been to this one until we were unable to get into the recent concert for Tame Impala and this was a quick stroll from the arena. My daughter and I love Patsy's and if there is any pizza we want to get while in the city, this is a no-brainer. I love how classy and old-world the inside of this place looks. It makes you feel warm in the colder months, and refreshed in the warmer ones. The pizza always arrives still bubbling and with a beautiful undercarriage. They NEVER disappointed us and I would rather spend $200 per person here, than for the overpriced Tame Impala ticket. read more

Food was good, and the outdoor patio had a lovely vibe, however the service was lackluster. There was a bug in our pizza that had clearly come from within the kitchen. Our server insisted it was from sitting outside(I work in a restaurant so I understand that can happen) however he seemed very dismissive of our party, but brought us a new pizza. What was crazy was the auto gratuity 20% as well as nothing to account for the bug found in our food. Seemed like a good place, but overall experience was "ok" at best. Before going to catch a show we stopped by for some food & drinks. Drinks, we had Aperol spritz , Moscow mule both good. On the food the allá Vodka pizza was very good, nice thin slices, very good sauce. We also had the Chicken Francese , it was good as well nice taste to the chicken, decent w the pasta but they don't give you enough. Next time, drinks we tried the White sangria pitcher it was good nice taste. Appetizer we tried the Suplí aka arancini rice balls, they were pretty good decent taste, good when dipped in the sauce. On the food, Caprese pizza was good, nice thin crust as well good taste to the pizza. Also had the Chicken parm, this was ok chicken was not tender a bit tough. Staff was so fantastic! Helpful, kind, & seemed genuinely happy to be there. My 4 year old son got an impromptu pizza making lesson. He was so proud! We were so grateful. That was above and beyond. My grandmother loves Patsy's on the UES, but last night we went to the Brooklyn location so we could have dinner with my dad in his borough. The atmosphere here is very warm and welcoming. The staff are very friendly. I was not a fan of being sat in the back area which was freezing cold last night and not heated whatsoever. The food is very good. I didn't realize that this place is famous. It just happened to be across from Barclay's when my family went to see Linkin Park. We were able to get a table with about a 5 minute wait for a party of 4. We were conscious of not overordering (like we usually do!) because we didn't want to have to carry leftovers. So we ordered a pizza, the hot and cold antipastos, and dessert. The pizza was otherworldly and absolutely perfect. I could eat it every day forever and be happy every time. The cold antipasto was a little sparse for the cost, but still yummy. The hot antipasto was amazing. It had on it some of the freshest and most delicious calamari that I have ever had. The clams and shrimp were good. I could have eaten a whole platter of the eggplant rollatini. I wish I had. We ordered cannolis and cheesecake for dessert. Best cannoli I have ever had in my life, hands down. The ricotta filling was whipped perfectly smooth with no graininess at all and there were no chocolate chips, but you could clearly taste orange zest or something in there that was just delicious. On the side of the plate were strawberries that had a delectable strawberry sauce over them. I may head back to Brooklyn just to eat my way through their menu. This was my first time visiting this Patsy's location near the Barclays Center. I showed up about an hour before closing, and they warned me about the kitchen shutting down. They sat me anyways when I vowed to be a quick diner. I ordered a pie, half original and half pepperoni. The pie came out quickly. The undercarriage definitely had a char, but the pie was somehow a little floppy. I enjoyed the thin crust, and I preferred the pepperoni to the original half. The pepperoni added a much needed punch of flavor as the original was good, but was just a little mild in the flavor department. Location location location! Patsy's is 1 block from the Barclays Center which is super convenient. We dropped the kids off to watch A Boogie Wit da Hoodie at BC and walked over to Patsys to dine on the most delicious pizza. Ordered a bottle of Le Crème Chardonnay. We ate, drank & were merry. Hittin up the Nets game @ Barclays and we come out around 8:30pm on a Saturday and see Patsy's across the street. No way we get a table, can we? The wife goes in and...incredible..we get a primo table in the rear right in front of the coal fired oven. Sweet... What else do you order but the pizza right? We get a cheese pie, the chicken parm dinner and clams casino. How's the pizza? Hmmm...solid but not the best I've had. Also a bit on the smaller side. The crust could be crunchier but whenever you get a pie hot from the oven it's always a little different than when you get a slice heated up. But let me tell ya...that chicken parm is money...perfectly fried with nice breading and italian seasoning with melted cheese and a nice marinara. Wow... One complaint- seems like this new (at least to us) maneuver to charge extra for paying with credit cards needs to be stated more prominently as we pay with a credit card and get some 2-3% upcharge on top of the included gratuity. That really adds up and we would have just paid cash if we knew. I'm sure there are tons of non-New Yorkers coming to Patsys so making folks aware would be appreciated. read more

Three years ago while vacationing we regularly dined at Patsy's Pizzeria. It was awesome. This week we made a quick reservation. The lasagna was salty and basically two layers of meat between pasta and more salt. But one can easily refuse to eat an unappetizing cheap tomato sauce meal. What's difficult to swallow, is the mandatory 20% gratuity that's added to your bill with the hope that you will still tip some more. I never in my life had two pizzas delivered that were ice cold. I don't think the delivery guy had a warming bag. The Alla Vodka Pizza was just okay. There was nothing special about it and lacked substance. For 26 dollars, it should have been amazing and it was not. We ordered a Margherita pizza that was not great at all. Long Overdue Review. Great Food but Insulting Gratuity Policy We have been going to Patsy's near Barclays for years, especially when we had season tickets to the Nets. It was one of our go-to spots before games and concerts. The food has always been excellent and the service reliable. On the night of a Madonna concert in December 2023, we were disappointed to find a 20 percent gratuity automatically added for our party of two. We ordered a pie, some appetizers, and drinks. It was a great meal until the bill arrived. This had never happened to us before at Patsy's, and we were not informed in advance. There was no mention on the menu and no heads-up from the server. Just a surprise line on the check after we had finished eating. That may also be illegal in New York City, where gratuities must be clearly disclosed before the meal. This review is long overdue, but it has stayed with us. The issue was not the amount. We always tip 20 percent or more. The issue was the offensive assumption that we would not. That kind of preemptive judgment was insulting and completely unnecessary. It sent the message that we were not to be trusted to do the right thing, despite years of loyal business. It felt presumptuous and condescending, and it took the shine off what had otherwise been an enjoyable evening. We are New Yorkers. We know how to tip and believe in doing so generously. But we also believe in transparency and respect, especially from an established restaurant like this. Patsy's needs to do better. Located on dean by the Barclays Patsy offers a variety of tasty dishes for everyone. Patsy has sidewalk seating and a backyard patio making great for eating during the summer months. We tried the frose it was very refreshing. The Caesar salad was tasty and the pizza was soo good. We could of ate 2 pies in no time. This was our first time in Brooklyn and the first thing we wanted to do was try some Brooklyn pizza. The front desk clerk of the hotel we were staying at recommended Patsy's and it did not disappoint. It was a cold and rainy day and there was still alot of people in there. We were seated rather quickly. The ambiance is really dark and lovely. Great for a date night. They also had outside seating but it was unavailable due to the weather. They don't sell pizza by the slice so we decided on a half sausage and half pepperoni pie. That pizza came out big, hot, and fresh! We all enjoyed it very much. We stopped by Patsy's Pizza in Brooklyn mid-day before our JFK flight and had the best experience! We got the best table in the house for watching the soccer game. We enjoyed two cold glasses of wine, a little salad, and when I asked for a half cheese pizza for the kids and their lasagna pizza for me and my husband, the waiter said, "Let me see what I can do to take care of you," and he did.
