service was lacking! went on mother's day when place opened and sat in the backyard area, the guy waiter looked like he hated his job. no greeting, no words exchanged. No smile, prob don't care since the place is overpopulated. He just took our order when we called him over and then gave us the bill. Pizza was good, we got the bee sting, portion was pretty tiny for its price and it's not the normal pizza where it holds its shape, it's a flop. Flavor was good tho and if you like thin pizza this is the one. The crust was pretty bland, table next to us didn't even eat the crust. Also got the straigatella with bread. I came to Roberta's for a line dance night and could not have had a better time. There is so much space outside to dance and as the night settled in, the string lights brought an intimate ambiance. Very cute pizza place! They have benches set up where you will share with another small group but honestly was a good time! It's hip and a great date place. The service is nice and friendly. Unlike other NYC places, they don't rush you. They also have a tiki bar next door decorated for Christmas which was cool. Now the food was great! The sour dough and Stracciatella are the stars! First you HAVE TO order the Stracciatella. It melts in your mouth and made both the loaf and pizza taste better! The sour dough pizza was excellent! I wish the fiore had the tomato sauce since it could be a little dry to the mouth but you can tell the dough and cheeses are homemade. Had to try this neighborhood pizza spot while I was in Brooklyn yesterday. The vibe in here is really chill. The service was outstanding, everyone was incredibly friendly and efficient. I had my food within 15 minutes of ordering. Speaking of- I ordered the famous original and a cocktail the Julio something...damn my memory . They were both delicious though! I also ordered a mezcal Negroni (not pictured) which was also delightful. The pizza flavor was out of this world. I think they're serious about the NY water, it's just a superior taste. Love the thin crust underneath the cheese and the tomatoey flavor with the garlic. All in all I had a great experience here, I just went yesterday and I'm already thinking of my next trip back! We ordered a guanciale and egg pizza - the guanciale was good (albeit maybe a bit tough to bite through the size of the pieces) and we liked the cheese blend they used. Flavor of the crust was solid too. Not much structural integrity to the pie, though to be fair I wasn't expecting that here. Pretty sure that they had forgotten to put our pizza order in though, because other tables that arrived after us received their pizzas before we did, and when we asked, we were told "They just put it in the oven." It's been so long since I went to Roberta's, and its pizza has stood the test of time. The crust is perfect with a sourdough tang and the tomato sauce has a deep tomato taste. It's a little pricy and they now have fairly basic pizzas on the menu with the options to add various toppings to them. Meat toppings are five bucks and I think the veg ones were 3 dollars it's easy to rack the bill up. I didn't think the add on was worth the cost as I had very little sausage for $5 and the basic pizza was tasty enough already. It used to be hard to get a table but we came midweek at around 1.30 and walked straight in, our server was friendly but we do have to wait a while for the bill. I'm giving it 5 stars because the pizza really is iconic, I'd stop by again when I'm in the neighborhood but probably wouldn't make a special trip out here. Roberta's is a somewhat popular pizza place in Bushwick, Brooklyn. They are known for their wood oven style and for the place having a hipster design. For example, the outside of the place is purposely covered in graffiti. I went for the Margherita pizza so I could have a standard one to compare with other pizzerias. One of their popular flavors is the Bee Sting which has chili and honey. In terms of their pizza, the pies are not that big and can be easily eaten by one person (or shared by two with a smaller appetite). The pizza was also just okay for me. They have Neapolitan style pizza. Therefore, the pizza was very light on the cheese and sauce and was mostly just crust. I feel like I haven't been back here in ages but I feel like they keep renovating and making it more roomy for everyone to be able to enjoy their slices of pizza with friends and they're dog friendly as well! We went with two dogs and they're friendly to dogs so there's a spot where you can sit with them and it also has a cover and blocks the wind. In the event you do have dogs you'll need to order at the bar and they'll come bring it over to you. They did that and added in a huge bowl for us for the dogs to drink water. The wait time on a weekend isn't crazy and it's a super nice spot to just have beer and pizza. The large pitcher of beer is only 33 dollars and super worth it since it's all draft! We got the guinciale and egg pizza and the most famous- the bee sting. Absolutely heaven. I think the guinciale and egg is definitely became one of my faves at this rate and almost beating the bee sting. I definitely recommend on a brunch time. The pork is just so good on this one. I have been meaning to try Roberta's for sometime, but didn't get a chance to until recently when I was in the neighborhood. This place is such a vibe! When you walk in, you're immediately hit with their ambience, red lighting, and some of the most delicious smells. You can imagine. They ask that if your entire party is not here yet to sit at the bar in the back. I ended up doing so as I was waiting on someone and was greeted by the friendly bartender who showed me they are non-alcoholic options. I ordered One of the non-alcoholic drinks, which was probably one of the best ones. I've tried this month. The bar area itself was lively, and I very much enjoyed interacting with the guests seated around me. For an appetizer, I ordered a dish that looked seasonal, a chicken liver mousse pate that was served with deliciously crispy bread and tart cherry tomatoes. Once my friend arrived, everyone made room and we enjoyed the classic original pie. One thing I really want to note is that this pizza is perfect for a single person. You can obviously share it, but don't feel bad about indulging in an entire pie to yourself because this pizza is not greasy, and the dough leaves feeling nourished, rather than bloated. This pie comes served with a bottle of their spicy chili oil on the side and man the stuff is spicy. The staff at this place is polite, engaging, and thoughtful, and the food is just as fantastic. I ordered the pizza with ricotta, white sauce, and added mushrooms (delicious), and even though there was a delay with it coming out, Simone went above and beyond. She was so attentive, kind, and genuinely fun to talk to -- she really made the night feel special. Stopped into Roberta's to sober up with my bestie, who's visiting NYC from Texas. We had just spent 3 hours getting sloshed at Happy Hour at another spot. The brick oven pizza at Roberta's was the remedy we needed. We ordered the Margherita pizza. It was sooo d*mn good! I'm not a lover of thin crust pizza but Roberta's gets it right. It was hot and crispy and fresh out of a flaming, brick oven. I hate that I didn't take a cheese pull, selfie. Roberta's was one of my favorite pizza spots when I lived in NY. When visiting NY, I had to come back. I made dinner reservations, which I highly recommend because it gets busy and the wait can be long. The interior of Roberta's is dimly lit with colorful string lights hanging on the ceiling. The music is louder and creates a less formal dining vibe. We were seated immediately upon arriving. We ordered 3 different pizzas and it took about an hour to get the pizzas. It would have been nice to get a heads up that the pizza would take so long. We felt like we were waiting for a long time. The pizza was delicious. Their famous bee sting pizza has a sweet and spicy flavor combo. Their famous original pizza was like a margherita pizza but with more cheese. I loved the 3 cheese flavor. We also tried the speckenwolf pizza that had mushrooms, red onions, and speck. This one was my least favorite of the 3. The pizza crust is fresh and thin with a thicker outer crust. We've been coming here for years and have loved it but tonight was truly astounding. There are three entrances and zero information or signs that explain why and which one is for what. I watched many people walk out because they were confused. We should have left... The ordering for the outside was not intuitive at all. You can order food, but no drinks, even though there's a bar right there. The water container was empty. Our food took 45 minutes, which is fine. We don't mind waiting. What I do mind is the fact that our pizza was somehow undercooked and burnt at the same time. Remarkable! And my $19 salad was about $1.50 of lettuce with no where near the amount of toppings it required. Dry and ridiculous. It was about a fifth of what you would have gotten had we dined in and yes, there was plenty of room in that to go box. I was told there were utensils outside. That's fine but I had to ask someone else where they were because they were behind the bar. So was I supposed to go behind the bar?I mean come on. As someone who's been working as a server for years I can tell you right now every single one of them either haven't had any training at all or are just incapable of being a server. Bad experience story (Just rude staff) *** After a great night out me and my partner realized we were in the area for Roberta's after making the resy ahead of time.We headed to the dark area of Roberta's .We were greeted by the hostess kindly as I explained we were a bit early than our reservation (20mins) that if there wasn't a table available we'd be fine to wait as I did mention on the resy app it was our anniversary.She showed us to our seats...I kid you not it was at the bench seating next to another couple squished in as my partner felt uncomfortable and asked to be moved to another table ..she declined and said that those tables (possibly 7-8 nice romantic candle lit tables were reserved keep in mind I also made a reservation!).Alas I was just peeved by this so we folded our winter jackets on the chair then waited to order .Which was easy we got our beautiful STRACCIATELLA and it's my favorite.Then the pizza wait was around 30 mins we ordered a bee sting (highly recommend) then another 20mins for the other pizza cheesus Christ (do not recommend) .Then as another couple was seated next to us they looked upset that they were pushed to sit in between it made me uncomfortable also I forgot to mention they put us right in the front next to the pizza oven and the occasional window they'd open for to go orders .They staff was overall rude the pizza took a while close to an hour.Hopefully they improve in the future overall the food has gotten better with time. read more

I have seen the Instagram videos and had high hopes for this place. They do Neapolitan. Pizzas and maybe this was a one off, but it was not good. It could have been. I think the oven was way too hot and everyone's pizzas were charred. I don't mind a little but the base or undercarriage was mostly white and soft with black charred spots all over, every bubble on top was burnt to a crisp. The dough was lovely, chewy and soft but I wasn't left feeling like I eat pizza as I was shushing beer in my mouth to get rid of the charcoal taste. If this is the norm, it's highly overrated.
