Best Pizza definitely lived up to the hype! Heard great things about this place and decided to check it out while I was in Williamsburg. The white slice was pretty fire with the sesame crust and the caramelized onions. Crust was thin and crunchy with just a bit of a chew. Almost felt like a bialy, but better. Definitely one of the best white slices in NYC!! The pepperoni was overheat by a tad but still solid. The pepperoni cuts were huge, sauce wasn't too sweet, and ratio of ingredients were appropriate. Several tables on the inside with some outdoor seating. Food came out quick despite the constant flow of customers.
Very good pie. It's got the fire flavor, if you prefer any coal or wood fire flavor then it's got the burn. Good cheese, just sticky and chewy enough. The bottom crust is crispy, thin, enough dough flavor. Definitely not bread dough. It's definitely an OG NY pizza.
Omg!!! Came in here while at the italian festival. We sat outside and this was the best pizza I ever had. Crunchy sides perfect amount of sauce and cheese the seasoning were perfection.
I'll die on this hill: Frank Pinello (owner of Best Pizza, former Roberta's alum) is the king of pizza. His pizza is just so effing amazing. He never gets the flowers he deserves in the press and on social media. Big slices, bursting with flavor. His grandma slice, which is HUGE, is my favorite, with its tart anchovy marinara sauce. Caramelized tomato and garlic. And his regular cheese slice is also pretty damn good, with a cheesy flavor that will punch you in the face. Nothing halfway done here at Best Pizza. Service is always with a smile and the price is just right. It can get busy, but overall, there is plenty of room for everyone to have a seat. Three huge slices and two drinks were 18 bucks, but one slice could feed one person, seriously.

My Brother and I were going to try out as many pizza places as we could on our drive through the city. Best Pizza was our 4th stop. We went with a slice of cheese and a slice of grandma. I honestly was looking forward to Best Pizza and Sallys up in New Haven the most on our trip, and unfortunately, both of them kind of let me down a bit. The cheese slice was fine, typical NY slice and pretty tasty. The grandma slice was skimp. The dough was super light, indents in the bottom of the dough, super thin, and not enough cheese on it. It was like a bread slice. Meh. Still love you Frank, even if I thought your pizza was just average. Love watching you on Youtube and learning about pizza from you!
Decent slice but nothing special (sorry) the 3.8 rating on here is probably accurate. I would def get a different one if I ever come back here

My friend and I are on a mission to find the best pizza in NYC. First on our list was Best Pizza. I loved the straight forwardness of the place. Staff were friendly and direct, order in, paid for quickly and they even brought it to the table for us. The place is small but set up in a way then even if it was full, you wouldn't feel crowded. Decorated paper plates line the wall, and you realize people are coming from all over the world to eat this pizza. Hell, I came from Rhode Island so I get it! When I bit into the pepperoni, I said to myself "yes, this is a NY pie". When I think about what qualifies it to be NY style, this slice embodies all of it. Good crust, good sauce, good cheese. Care and attention was paid when making it, even though the big boss was nowhere in that kitchen. The pepperoni edged out the cheese as the better slice for me. It was cooked more and the crispiness of the crust was pleasant while accentuating the flavor. The sauce wasn't anything over the top but made its presence known with a bold tomato taste. The cheese to sauce ratio was on point, a bit of pull without it being overwhelmingly cheesy. Best slice in the city? Probably not. But it was 100% delicious and a great way to start our quest!

In fact, it looks like the stereotypical NYC pizza place you'd see in a Scorcese film: white walls, hand-drawn art on paper plates, two ceiling fans overhead and a slice case. Wu-Tang cuts through the room like garlic. The staff moves easily, friendly and natural. Lauren Hill drops in next. Then Chubb Rock. Nobody here is performing, yet it's all part of the neighborhood experience. Now for the slices. The pepperoni curls just enough, its edges dark from the heat. It's a little crisp, not too oily. The cheese lays smooth, layered over a sauce that speaks softly, despite a little bite. There's some chew to the crust, some char on the edges. You get crunch in the right places. Nothing soggy, nothing sloppy. Garlic knots sit on the side, blistered and warm with a that spicy marinara. It's a slice you'd eat on your lunch break, or after a show, or walking home. You could call it everyday pizza. You could call it neighborhood pizza. You could call it a terrific version of both, and you wouldn't be wrong. Maybe that's what makes it stand out. It's not trying to blow your mind; it's just really good stuff. Frank Pinello wasn't behind the counter today, but you feel his fingerprints in the restraint and balance. This place feels like someone who knows how to cook anything but he chose to make pizza out of love. And while it's still a neighborhood spot, his national recognition has made it a true destination. You've had this slice before in other places. You'll have it again. That's the point. It stays with you not because it's excellent in any way, but because it's familiar. This is a classic New York slice, wood-fired, chewy and crispy, served in a room that doesn't care if you're impressed. They know that you know they're good. Not a pilgrimage, but a pretty good stop.
I have wanted to come here for a long time and finally made it. Ordered the white and the grandma. Both were great. Even my oldest child that has lived in Brooklyn for over 10 years was impressed. Thanks for the great pizza !

Old and New school style since Di Fara's said goodbye to Dom (rip) for old school we decided on trying Franks' place - Best Pizza to represent and wasn't disappointed. da Grub: Did Cheese, Pep, White, and Grandma. Quintessential NY slices, ate them right on the hood of the rental car. Crust had a lil' crunch w/ a chew, GREAT sauce. White pie was nice and garlicy, Grandma was a lil' dry for me. Overall solid Brooklyn spot. Service: No nonsense, ya place your order at the counter and wait for the goodness to arrive minute later. Grab napkins and shake on some peppers if you like before heading outside to grub. Frank's recipes and methods represent Brooklyn pizza well, check him out!

Crispy crispy pizza! If you like a pizza with a bit of crisp and crunch I think this is definitely the spot. Came by because I heard their white slice was arguably the best in the city. I would not say the same, but I've seen in other videos a better helping of caramelized onions on the white slice which I didn't even know was on mine. But I was very impressed with how the dough in the pizza was coming out of the oven. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and I love any spot that offers hot oil on the side for you to add on. I would say you have to wait a tad longer than other places that have a slice come out immediately but it's definitely worth the wait for the crust and undercarriage! Best Pizza opened in the winter of 2010, founded by pizzaman Frank Pinello. Located in a former bakery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, it features a century-old wood-fired oven and is renowned for its classic New York-style slices and Grandma pie. During a visit to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, I had been meaning to try Best Pizza for a while, so I finally decided to check it out. Walking in, I noticed a few people inside on a weekday. I was greeted warmly and ordered a plain slice and a pepperoni slice. My order was ready in about ten minutes. The slices were a generous size, and surprisingly, I was full after just two. The plain pizza was absolutely delicious--full of flavor, with a crispy crust, and topped with basil that added a surprising pop and burst of freshness. The pepperoni was just as tasty--rich in flavor. Though it was wood-fired, it tasted like it might have come from a coal oven. Usually, wood-fired pizzas are a bit on the soft side, but this one was perfectly crispy and cooked to perfection. read more
Best Pizza is the original NYC elevated slice shop. It doesn't get as much hype anymore since it's been around for so many years, but it's still just as good. I stopped by on a weekend afternoon and there were a few other people inside. I ordered a grandma slice and the seasonal veggie slice. They were both warmed and ready about five minutes later. The seasonal veggie was a white pie topped with kale and sunchokes. It was a great combination and I could eat multiple slices of it. The grandma slice is a classic square, covered in sweet tomato sauce. Always a solid choice. The sandwiches here are also delicious and worth getting. Loved the casual neighborhood vibes here. On a Saturday night, not too crowded, seats available, pretty cozy I'd say. Onto the pizza....not sold on it being the "best" pizza, but a very good slice; great char, flavor and not floppy. Didnt have to put any seasoning or extra cheese...I think this pizza is in line with Joe's pizza, but better! Would come back or go to the other locations. read more

This pizzeria is well known to many of us who watched the Pizza Show on Vice and Munchies in the mid 2010s and its owner Frank Pinello has inspired many current pizza makers and pizzeria owners to this day. I came here straight from Diamond Slice on a mini pizza crawl to try different white slices. The place looks just as it did back in the day and I met Frank himself in the pizzeria. He is truly the person you saw on the pizza show in that he loves to talk to his customers and treats his staff so well. It is no wonder why many people respect this man so much. Anywho, I had two slices of their famous white slice which is unlike any of the ones I've had in my life. The slices consisted of ricotta and mozzarella, sliced pecorino Romano as a lot of pizzerias do; but what really amped up this slice was the parsley and the caramelized onions which gave these slices some delicious pep. The white slices here are as far as I've seen unique to Best Pizza and are in a class of its own. The fact that this is cooked in an oven that is well over a century old makes this even better. I would strongly recommend this pizzeria when you are in NY and visiting Williamsburg. And Frank is one of the best. read more
If I lived in the area I would be a regular here. The slices here are phenomenal. We went on a Saturday mid day and there was no line, which is a huge plus. The cheese and white slice are excellent. I stopped here with my friend on a Saturday night around 7pm. I had a plain slice. There are only a few tables inside and none were available when we went, so we stood at the counter. The tomato sauce was quite sweet, but it was balanced out by a decent amount of cheese. I really liked this slice! read more

This shop ruined me. Ever run into that person that says things like "I like a slice but you can't get anything like they got outside of NYC, I'm sorry." Sounds snobby right? Well I'm that snob now. How is the pizza this good? How is the crust crispy but also chewy??? How is the sauce so tomato, but tangy, and sweet but also savory? And the cheese is so flavorful hello? We got the cheese slice and the white pizza slice. Get both. The classic cheese will give you a feel for what they're doing here and the white pizza is them doing a serious flex. Review: Best Pizza -- Worth the 10‑Year Wait I've been waiting nearly a decade to make it to Best Pizza, ever since discovering Frank Pinello on The Pizza Show on Vice. From there, I followed Frank across social media and YouTube, always thinking, One day, I'm getting a slice from this place. That day finally came -- and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I walked in convinced the white slice would be my runaway favorite. Instead, I was completely blindsided by the Grandma slice, Frank's personal favorite -- and now mine too. It's a must‑order. The crust is light and airy, the fresh whole tomatoes taste like they were just crushed moments before, and the balance of flavor is spot‑on. Truly unforgettable. The pepperoni slice was excellent as well -- you really can't go wrong with anything here -- but the Grandma is the star of the show. The white slice still deserves its flowers: that hint of lemon, the sweetness from the caramelized onions, and the sesame‑seeded crust that adds a nutty crunch. This place is very cute and they have outdoor seating! I was going to get a cheese slice but I laid my eyes on the veggie slice and had to have it ! Slice was thicker than expected which I'm not complaining about ! It had the perfect crunch, amazing flavor and the crust was soooo good ! The men who work there are kind and the service was quick ! Among the hyped-up pizzas in Williamsburg, I would argue that Best Pizza is the only one competing in the category with an authentic NY slice. On a warm evening, this is the best place to avoid the needless crowds and grab a slice to eat on the sidewalk. I prefer the grandma slice over the classic, with the same sweet tomato sauce but a nice crunch to go with it. read more

Alright, alright, alright. Everyone knows Frankie from The Pizza Show on Vice and everyone knows this is his shop so the bar is high: This was the best slice we had on our trip. You got to Judge a place by a cheese slice and a grandma slice. These were both high quality and the most flavorful of the four cheese slices we had: Best Pizza, Joe's on Carmine, 2 Bros, and Scarr's. Best Pizza hands down was the better dough and sauce. We got cheese slices and grandma slices. For me, the grandma slice is where it's at. Incredibly light and refreshing even though it's a huge square slice. I was really impressed overall that neither pieces felt heavy. They oddly felt light and you didn't feel like crap after you ate it. There's seating and the alcohol is super cheap. It's just a really chill place to have some fresh pizza. read more

The owner Frank has created a passion for pizza for many people including myself. His shop has incredible vibes and the oven is awesome. Cheese slice was incredibly crispy while also being thin as can be. The grandma pie takes the cake for me as it was the best I've ever had. You can tell the freshness and quality of all their ingredients. You can sense the passion in their pizza, and it's a must stop for all pizza lovers read more
