Food is amazing. I have gone in many times tried pizza & cheesesteak is so delicious!!!!

Bay Ridge continues its steep decline in the food scene with this cheesesteak wannabe restaurant. I have been to Philadelphia and had my fair share of cheesesteaks there. Some really good, some not so good, most somewhere in between. This one falls closer to the second option, and not just because this cash only joint (boo...) charges $13 for one, and it is pretty small. For an extra $9, you get fries and a drink. I took the deal, not realizing the fries are your traditional "bowling alley fries". I took one bite and threw the rest away. $9 extra wasted away. As for the steak itself, it is quite hit or miss. They also try to jazz it up to the point where it can be completely unrecognizable if you wish. No thanks. A good steak is just ribeye steak and a choice of three cheeses, Cheez Whiz, White American, or Provolone. Stop the nonsense with Yellow American. Also, the roll should be strictly Amoroso. I did not see that here. I already deduct two stars for lack of authenticity. The final star deduction comes in the form of an inconsistent steak. Throughout the experience, I was getting different bites each time I took a bite. Some bites were really good, others were flat. The steak is also cooked with far too much salt for my liking. I also felt the customer service was flat too. There was no knowledge of the menu items except for the sesame roll. The roll is also too chewy for this kind of sandwich. They also serve pizza, but it does not make any sense to me why. Honestly, it did not look good in the display case when I saw it. I am taking it off my favorites and will not be returning. Not every cheesesteak has to be a John's Roast Pork or a Tony Luke's, but a little more effort could put this little hole in the wall joint in Bay Ridge closer to them. read more

Social Media brought me to this spot! I'm not sure if the video mentioned it's a *Cash Only* spot but I will in this review. I pass this place daily, zoomin' by I'd see Philadelphia something. The video gave a full explanation and why I need to put Philadelphia Grille in my lunch rotation. Walking inside, I know what I want. Steak with white american cheese with the works (onions, peppers, and hot peppers) There's an option for mayo, I'm not sure who's getting mayo on their cheesesteak but hey, you do you! The owner comes to the front and I tell him I saw this spot on social media. Everything looks amazing, I can't wait to try my sandwich. How long have you been in business? I'm expecting 18 months, he tells me over 30 years?? Wow! Not only is Philadelphia Grille a sandwich shop but they're also serving pizza for decades. I must point out, Philadelphia Grille is a very small spot. Walking inside, you're faced with a small counter. Once you have your food, they have tables and chairs in a covered lanai. I'd be a chilly Billy eating my sandwich so I took it to go. Once I get back to my Brooklyn Fortress of Solitude I dig in. The cheesesteak my way? Dynamite. Italian bread from Brooklyn wrapping up a cheesy meat fest. Philadelphia Grille did everything right in Brooklyn! I can't wait to come back and try the roast pork. And then mix it up the following week with a grilled chicken sammy. read more

Great food, no frills, no seating...definitely worth take out on a Friday! While NYC is not known for its cheesesteak, this hole in the wall (in the best possible way) makes one mean sandwich. The meat is tender and well seasoned, the bread is soft, and they have the provolone or cheez whiz option! They also have burgers and other sandwiches, but really...just try the cheesesteak! Ordered a cheesesteak on 2 different occasions & both times the staff was not wearing gloves & was picking up the sandwich to cut it and put in the to go box with their BARE HANDS. I have seen other reviews on here saying the same thing where the chef touches all the food without wearing gloves. No idea why they think thats acceptable. Other establishments make their staff wear gloves and not touch peoples food with their bare hands. read more

Our neighbors couldn't stop raving about this place so we placed a delivery order on a Friday night and had dinner together. Food came on time, hot and packaged well. Our delivery guy was really nice! We had 3 orders of the ziti with vodka sauce and chicken, a regular large cheese pizza for my 4 boys, a cheesesteak with the works for my husband and a linguini with Alfredo for everyone to try/share. The bread that came with the pasta was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The vodka pasta was really good! Definitely my favorite of our entire order. I'd pass on the Alfredo next time, but would love to try the pasta with a different sauce and a gourmet pizza. My kids enjoyed the pizza and my husband really liked his cheesesteak sandwich too. It was a little spicy for my taste but I liked the flavors. We had plenty of leftovers the next morning and had it at 9am for breakfast. Guys, what happened? I was in the area for the first time in a few years and stopped by to get a cheesesteak. The bread was soggy, untoasted.. The steak portion half what it used to be. Being a New Yorker, I've had many pizza in my life. While this is pretty much the only local place within this are of Brooklyn, I have to say it left much to be desired. For one, their pies were soggy. They also did not use Italian sausage. I felt like they used pork sausage in their pizzas. Really was in the mood for a Philly and my husband looked up this place, it's bit of a drive but it was worth it. Not a dine in, just order and go! We got a delicious slice of Vodka pizza. When I tell you it was the best Vodka pizza we've ever eaten, it was the best. Every single bite was crunchy and tasty( taste soo good I forgot to take a pic), then came the Philly cheesesteak.....soooo good! Wow! Hands down, the BEST VEGGIE PIZZA we have ever eaten! My wife and I moved from NY to MD, but whenever we travel, we look for a good NY style pizza. We just hapened to be in NY this weekend, staying at FT Hamilton in Brooklyn, when we saw a flyer for this restaurant. Are we glad we decided to try it. I don't generally do reviews but I had to give these folks their props, because this pizza is THAT GOOD! Amazing little hidden gem at the end of Bay Ridge ! I tried the cheese steak with the works and the chicken with the works , both incredible explosion of flavor served in a tasty crispy hero. Will definitely be back and also to try the pizza as it looked like they know what they are doing.
