It's a very small place on 7th Avenue, but it's quick and efficient in taking orders and doing the sandwiches. You can order on a paper slip (which was done by our order, mainly turkey and cheese with different fixing). The owner and the crew prepared our sandwiches before our eyes, our little grandson got his cookie and at the end, we left with free chips. All the sandwiches were around $10. read more

Sub hub is a great spot in the Windsor Terrace/South Slope area. The combo deal of sandwich + drink + chips is soo good and basically unheard of in the city at this point. As a germaphobe, i am extremely picky about where i get my food these days. Especially during the pandemic, whilst being pregnant, and hungry ALL the time - getting takeout is such a process. But! Brooklyn Bodega provided a great, efficient, worry-free, and delicious experience. The spot is quite small, but really clean, plus they're practicing good hygiene - Marie takes the order and handles the $ while Gary crafts delicious heroes while wearing gloves. Both wore masks. i pretty much only eat turkey heroes, and they use quality Boar's Head along with a nice soft bread to contain all the heartiness of the meat, condiments and veggies. It was a dream sandwich. The only close available parking for me was right at the hydrant, and they were gracious enough to bring my order out to me, so i wouldn't have to waddle back in and risk getting a ticket. Now that is a great deal in New York! This includes most toppings and fixings you like. I ordered the Chicken Cutlet with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and bacon. For sauce I chose spicy mayo and I chose sesame bread. I've been back at the store twice and highly recommend it for those in the area. I will say that it can get pretty busy during lunch. It still exists, baby!!! Sub Hub is your old school bodega sandwich deal and I love it. They got your typical deli meat kinda joint, they got your chicken cutlet joint, they got a full on cheesesteak joint. They also have the greatest deal on bacon egg and cheese on a ciabatta around i won't even whisper it. So don't let the name confuse you -- it's not totally a normal bodega, more just a place that serves bodega food as it's focus and snacks (candy, chips, ice pops, soda, etc) on the side. For real, this place rocks. It's got like two people working there at a time max. Really chill and nice kind of hole in the wall that helped keep my pandemic life rich in cheese(steak). This is probably the best sandwich per value I've come across in New York City! The fresh bread is absolutely incredible, and high quality cheese with Boars' Head brand meats. It's a lean operation focusing solely on cold cuts of your choice with a few suggested combinations but not an exhausting list of featured sandwiches. I have to assume I was serviced by the owner, and he couldn't have been a nicer, or quicker, to build the sandwich with a few recommendations of my limited input. It's quick, it's clean, it's delicious, and it's $7.95 for a massive sandwich-soda-and-chips combo (or, if you're like me, they'll let you swap out the chips for a dark chocolate Kit-Kat). I've never seen more than one person there making sandwiches, but he's a wizard (and so nice!). After going just a handful of times, he remembered my order, down to the type of bread. It's a simple operation, but it's all you need. I also enjoy the quirky decor and classic candy selection, including a gumball machine at the entrance. We'd read the other reviews, so knew we would be getting a great sandwich at a great value. On top of that, the owner is super friendly and made great suggestions. Oldest got an Italian sub, which he devoured, youngest got a cheese sub (she likes almost nothing) and devoured it. My partner got roast beef, I did turkey. As others have said, the bread is fantastic, the quality of the ingredients for the sandwiches and toppings is top notch and all four of us were very, very happy. We will definitely be back.
