Impressive. You get what you pay for, and what a bargain it is! The sandwiches are appropriately stuffed. I had a turkey and avocado hero, and both the turkey and avocado were plentiful. The Italian bread was fresh, lettuce was crisp, and I asked for the dressing on the side, and that's what I got. The man ordered a chopped cheese and a Reuben sandwich, and had half of both. He was highly impressed. We ordered desserts as well. I ordered cheesecake, but I have to admit that the cheesecake was a complete fail. I don't know if they used a corn syrup in it or something artificial but the flavor was strange and it ended up in the garbage. However, this isn't a "Dessert Restaurant". This is a Deli, and Deli's provide sandwiches, salads, soups and the iconic BECSPK. They don't specialize in desserts. Definitely going to order from here again. read more

One of my favorite delis, as I refuse to patronize any business I know contributes to genocide. This is a business I've used as long as I've lived in NY about 12 years in this area. I support them buying items I no longer support from larger businesses, my goal helping family owned businesses such as this one. Their customer service, manners always make me feel comfortable and happy to spend my money here. I especially love how they treat all customers whether religious or unknown - all customers fairly. I've even heard them saying names as if they know some of their customers, feels like a big family. If you call they are professional, if you have a problem they are professional. Hands down one of my favorite places to frequent. It's great because they are always pleasant, and I'm there pretty regularly (okay, yeah, daily basis). I come here so much I don't even check in anymore, but if I did, you would say 1,289 check-ins and I would look like a weirdo, and you would wonder why is she here so much!? The location is perfect because it's in front of the closest train on the block, so I can always grab something if I'm on the go. If you know anything about me, I am a fan of healthy food. Well, they have successfully accomplished that. I believe they have looked at the demographics of the neighborhood, so they have specialty foods for Asians and Middle Easterns. There's a deli which is super popular with teens after school, but it's also ideal for commuters to regularly get their coffee/herbal tea or whatever quick breakfast they are going to get on the way to the train. I have seen plenty of other regulars there who see me so often we feel like we know each other without even knowing each other's names lol. It seems as if it was recently renovated to include a chandelier, new floors and possibly other updates such as a well lit sign on the outside. In short, they take care of their customers, they take care of this place, and they are in tuned to what people want and they do their best to give it to them. Never been here but my mother raves about this place. So I finally gave them a try. Family owned n operated. 2nd time ordering from here through delivery, spoke with owner extremely polite, food is great even with jus only ordering from here twice. Delivery does take a bit because food is made when order so I'm definitely willing to wait. So far I've tried, Chipotle chicken w lettuce tomato n cheddar cheese. Chicken over rice w salad n my niece's had there chopped cheese sandwich which they love, they also have diff pastries huge, donuts was able to eat half n save the other half for later. They serve decent food at an affordable price. Their chop cheese is good but too oil(the grease makes it take but I doubt you'll feel good after a chop cheese hero), nice blend of mayo and ketchup sauce, also there should be more cheese for something called chopped cheese I would want it to be a little cheesier , the rice platters is good, has carrots,cucumber,tomatoes and peppers as the salad. There's a number of tiny bodegas in Bay Ridge now which add a hot grill/sandwich counter to their business as Sakmans has done. But Sakmans surely is one to marvel at. The variety of dishes coming out of this pint-sized corner business is astonishing. Enormous menu. I'm not lying when I assure you I've had a winner with every meal I've ordered. In particular, the 'cheeseburger deluxe' is just bang-on. Recently, craving a burger I went to McDonald's and McDonald's is so horrible these days I almost barfed it right back up. I truly felt as if I was eating garbage. I should've come here instead. The cheeseburger you get here tastes how McDonald's used to taste, many years ago. Big, meaty, sloppy, slidey, moist, hot. A real treat! And you can order fries, curly fries, curly Spanish fries, or onion rings on the side. The o-rings here are the way that Burger King *used to* make their onion rings. Service is always courteous, prices cheap, and the place is always bustling. Its just grand to see a humble little joint doing a 5-star job in the area that warms a man's heart--fast, hot food. Awesome spot thats been here for over 30 years. They recently expanded and took over the storefront next door which added more variety than the single location. I have won some money playing lottery here which is always a plus to my bank account. The deli counter is quite (Huge!!!) in my best Donald Trump impersonation Lol. I always try to stay away from cold cuts but just staring at all the meat in the showcase makes my mouth drool. Prime location for the subway, coffee is decent and you can review the magazine rack before the old lady asks you, "What are you looking at"?? Nothing dear ...lol. They don't follow CDC food is horrible gave my friend food poisoning and after giving them many chances as I lived around the corner all my life. But as the years go by it got worse and worse, have had many countless encounters with uncooked meat in there "deluxe" sandwiches overall terrible. Staff can be friendly at times, but that's a façade as they can really get rude and nasty. The wraps and sandwiches are filling and flavorful and the curly fries are seasoned. The staff are friendly and are eager to assist if you are searching for halal products.
