    Chopped Cheese

First chopped cheese I ever had and it was delicious! The way the hamburger grease melded together with the bread, cheese and ketchup was incredible!

Hands down one of my favorite places to frequent. It's great because they are always pleasant, and I'm there pretty regularly (okay, yeah, daily basis). I come here so much I don't even check in anymore, but if I did, you would say 1,289 check-ins and I would look like a weirdo, and you would wonder why is she here so much!? The location is perfect because it's in front of the closest train on the block, so I can always grab something if I'm on the go. If you know anything about me, I am a fan of healthy food. Well, they have successfully accomplished that. I believe they have looked at the demographics of the neighborhood, so they have specialty foods for Asians and Middle Easterns. There's a deli which is super popular with teens after school, but it's also ideal for commuters to regularly get their coffee/herbal tea or whatever quick breakfast they are going to get on the way to the train. I have seen plenty of other regulars there who see me so often we feel like we know each other without even knowing each other's names lol. It seems as if it was recently renovated to include a chandelier, new floors and possibly other updates such as a well lit sign on the outside. In short, they take care of their customers, they take care of this place, and they are in tuned to what people want and they do their best to give it to them. I can imagine that they are a neighborhood staple here to stay.

Chicken w rice n salad. Real good.

Never been here but my mother raves about this place. So I finally gave them a try. Family owned n operated. 2nd time ordering from here through delivery, spoke with owner extremely polite, food is great even with jus only ordering from here twice. Delivery does take a bit because food is made when order so I'm definitely willing to wait. So far I've tried, Chipotle chicken w lettuce tomato n cheddar cheese. Chicken over rice w salad n my niece's had there chopped cheese sandwich which they love, they also have diff pastries huge, donuts was able to eat half n save the other half for later. Will be trying more from there menu.

They serve decent food at an affordable price. Their chop cheese is good but too oil(the grease makes it take but I doubt you'll feel good after a chop cheese hero), nice blend of mayo and ketchup sauce, also there should be more cheese for something called chopped cheese I would want it to be a little cheesier , the rice platters is good, has carrots, cucumber, tomatoes and peppers as the salad. I didn't like the burgers.

    can't miss it

There's a number of tiny bodegas in Bay Ridge now which add a hot grill/sandwich counter to their business as Sakmans has done. But Sakmans surely is one to marvel at. The variety of dishes coming out of this pint-sized corner business is astonishing. Enormous menu. I'm not lying when I assure you I've had a winner with every meal I've ordered. In particular, the 'cheeseburger deluxe' is just bang-on. Recently, craving a burger I went to McDonald's and McDonald's is so horrible these days I almost barfed it right back up. I truly felt as if I was eating garbage. I should've come here instead. The cheeseburger you get here tastes how McDonald's used to taste, many years ago. Big, meaty, sloppy, slidey, moist, hot. A real treat! And you can order fries, curly fries, curly Spanish fries, or onion rings on the side. The o-rings here are the way that Burger King *used to* make their onion rings. Service is always courteous, prices cheap, and the place is always bustling. Its just grand to see a humble little joint doing a 5-star job in the area that warms a man's heart--fast, hot food. Hurrah!

Guy behind the counter loves me. Probably the largest deli I've ever seen in New York. Great sandwiches, highly convenient. I recommend!

Service is usually quick, though at the usual busy times there can be a bit of a wait. The BEC is always nicely filled, and when I ask for hot sauce (as I usually do), they put a good amount, unlike some other places nearby. Also, they toast their bagels just a little more than others so the outside has a nice crispness, while the inside was still soft. I feel like this place costs maybe 25 cents more than others in the area but it feels worth it. Ambiance is what it is: there are a few tables for people to sit at, but the vast majority are there to order and go. Great local spot.

I asked the delivery lady about it, but she couldn't speak English, so I called the restaurant directly. When I asked them what happened, they said, "Oh, we canceled it and called you"--which was not true; I never received a call. I asked why they canceled it, and the guy just said, "We canceled it and gave you a refund." When I asked if they could still send the smoothie, he responded in an angry voice, "I canceled it, and I gave you a refund--what don't you understand?" Extremely rude. I will not be ordering from this place again.

That was such a perfect idea. First thing we were there, and it was a warm and sultry morning at 6:30AM with the sun up to greet us along with a New York bridge adorning the scene to the south, with us eating outside on the sidewalk I could not imagine a better send off from this great world city. Bagels were a perfect breakfast and we sucked those back in a jiffy. Just as we were finishing, members of the US military, maybe national guardsmen, showed up in black SUVs right in front of us and parked. They got out, a gaggle of them and headed in for their bagels. To the left, is a coffee bar with multiple coffee choices. Nice looking spot. I ask for a Sesame Bagel with Cream Cheese. Would you like that toasted sir? Wait a second Years ago, I asked for my bagel toasted at Murrays Bagels in Chelsea. The guy behind the counter? He lost his mind! The next day, they put up a hand written sign: No Toasted Bagels So I'm always lerry when asking for extras. Except the bagel guy asked me so I feel relaxed. I pour myself a cup of delicious French Roast Coffee and my bagel is ready. The bagel is perfect. It has a nice chew, just a little too big but thats my personal taste. The cream cheese, even though it's plain, is very silky. Mr Bagels, thank you. Until we meet again.
