I've never felt more disrespected or disappointed in a diner. While working in the neighborhood, I visited this diner because a coworker recommended it. Initially, the prices seemed fair, and the owner appeared friendly and accommodating. However, I soon noticed something off. When my breakfast was served, items I hadn't ordered were included, and the owner insisted I take them, causing my bill to rise significantly. I didn't say anything and just paid. The next day, it happened again, and when I questioned him about the high bill, he insulted me, saying I ate too much. I had thought he was nice, but this showed a different side of him. Despite being a hardworking and respectful customer, I felt unwelcome. On my last visit, the owner was unfriendly from the start. He complained about my indecisiveness, even embarrassing me in front of other customers by saying if I found the prices too high, I could go elsewhere. This negative experience overshadowed what could have been a great diner, and I won't be returning. read more

Firstly and I consider this very important the man who runs this place is the nicest person. He greets you warmly and works hard to ensure you get what you want. His service stands out. Now for the food which is quite delicious. The ingredients are good and the dishes are well cooked. My wife and I typically get breakfast there. She loved the spinach and feta omelette. The fact that it is offered with rye toast is a delicious addition. I've tried the pancakes which are light, fluffy and tasty. I've also had the Italian omelette with the rye toast of course. It was delicious and fresh tasting. I highly recommend this place, anyone who treats his customers as warmly as this man does while serving good food deserves a lot of business. read more

Typical diner food. It comes out blazing fast and the waiter responded to our needs. I got a pastrami hero with Swiss and mustard that was solid. Kiddos had fries and medallion pancakes. Re-doing this because my review double posted. My kids and I came here because it was close to our Airbnb that we stayed at while visiting NYC. As we walked in, we saw the cute little picture from a kid and I knew we had found a gem in this nondescript little place. My oldest son wanted sweet tea, which was not on the menu. The guy who took our order (we assumed he was Gus or the owner of the restaurant) said he had just made a fresh batch of tea and he would add sugar to it. He did that when he didn't need to because there were sugar packets on the table that we easily could have used. The service was exceptional. My youngest ordered french toast and was filled up (a 14 year old boy!). I ordered the tomato and feta omelette and home fries. Added in some onions and it was so hearty and delicious. My daughter couldn't finish her big fluffy pancakes! All in all, we loved this place and came back a second time to eat right before we left NYC for home. If I lived here, I would eat here regularly. This place is a solid diner. I love my food. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon/tomato and a pastrami wrap. I can't speak to the pastrami wrap yet, but the grilled cheese was delicious. And so are the fries. They were not overly oily, they give you a great portion and lots of ketchup!! I would suggest a tiny bit of seasoning on the fries. Just even salt. But I know some people can be really picky with seasoning, which is probably why they let you add it yourself. Will return when in the area! read more

Very cozy place for a weekend brunch. When you sit in the restaurant you can hear the waitress (maybe the owner actually) talking and laughing with her regular guests. It's just traditional diner style American food so you can't go wrong with that. We ordered pancakes with bacon and two eggs with beef hash. The pancakes were really fluffy and they were so big!!! I've always loved eating at this diner. Their service is amazing. Very friendly, welcoming, & accomodating. They have recently had new management and the food is even tastier than ever. They are all so very attentive. My coffee gets topped off without me having to hunt down anyone-that's amazing service. My daughter and all her school friends come here after school and the prices are very reasonable. Additionally, I have come to learn that they actually deliver all the way up to Bay 31st. Great diner located very close to where I work so my secretary often runs out for us and grabs us some hot food to shove down our throats while we are dealing with the ongoing sagas of middle schoolers and "grilling" of our high schoolers. Oy. Tweens and teens are so much fun!!! I love the Greek omelette and home fries!! Perfect amount of feta and veggie ratio to the eggs. The home fries are well seasoned with onions and peppers. Yum!! Stopped by for a wrap as I was in the area in the morning. Average sized typical dinner-ish interior but it is a very lively place if that makes any sense. I had Gyro Wrap which was pretty decent, and fries were good. Food serving time was quite fast if you cannot wait for your food for too long. Friendly folks as well. I got the French toast with bacon with a side of home fries and my wife got the phili cheese omelet. Both were terrible but at least we were able to take a few bites off the omelet. My French toast was burnt to a crisp and had a nasty after taste resembling cooking oil. The bacon well t wasn't bacon. It was somehow flat, without taste and had the texture of rubber. The home fries were bland and also lacked any taste. The omelet was pretty bad too, and the French fries were clearly frozen and unseasoned. They served my coffee in a paper cup and all of their juices are kid sized bottles. The waitress seemed nice, the only redeeming quality of the restaurant. read more

Great hidden gem in Brooklyn. This place is a real old school dive breakfast place. The food is delicious and cooked and ready to eat quickly. I usually come here for breakfast or lunch. It's inexpensive and chill! Great place to go to for some good coffee and food. I love their breakfast menu--eggs and sausage are so yummy. I would just say that their home fries are just meh but otherwise, amazing! Their sandwiches and burgers are not bad at all as well. I actually like to dine here with my parents because they like coming here too. We recently became somewhat a little too obsessed and have been coming here two days in a row. There isn't much to write about the menu as it has a lot of the same foods as the other diners around here. But the quality is definitely higher than some. It's a decent spot to come to in the morning to read the paper and watch a day time talk show (that's what they have playing). I chose this place over plenty other spots because from the pictures I've seen it looks like I can make my own order like order a combo that isn't on the menu. We get here, sit where we want. We were attended to immediately. I hate that in a lot of places the waitress/waiter doesn't seem to know the term "the customer is always right" especially when it comes to what they desire to eat. So I'm picking out different things from the menu to put together (spinach and feta cheese omelette, corner beef hash, and banana pancakes) it's understandable for the waitress to offer a more coat friendly option but don't disregard my entire decision. The mid 50 year old lady says "you're gonna eat all of that?!" Ok clearly that means the portions are pretty substantial.. I ask "is there a way I can get what I want through any of your combos?" She tells me about the hungry man special which comes with 2 eggs any style, 2 pancakes, bacon, sausage and ham.. I say "cool so I'll take those "any style eggs" as a feta cheese and spinach omelette and those pancakes I'd like them to be banana pancakes and I'll pass on the bacon, sausage, ham and take corned beef hash instead" she tells me the pancakes will be an extra dollar and the eggs would be an extra dollar for the cheese and another for the spinach I proceed to say.. I don't care about the price it will still come out cheaper than ordering them separate. Apparently my carelessness bothered her and she kept suggesting me just take everything plain. It was almost like she felt like if she wouldn't pay that much for the food she's not gonna let anyone else do it lol. Anyway I ended up just ordering what I wanted separately and she still questioned me about the pancakes so I held off on the pancakes because she never did tell me the portions of each platter. I gave this place 3 stars because the food is great I'd give the food 4 if not 5 the service would've been fine if she wasn't so opinionated and the food came in a timely manner. read more

I was really surprised to find a good diner in the heart of south Brooklyn. Despite all the good reviews, I just didn't think a breakfast place would live up to NJ/LI diners. However, the atmosphere is nice, the service was fast, and most importantly - the veggie omelet and french toast were delicious! Is this an exquisite, fancy breakfast place?
