Finally got a chance to try this spot out since it's a super popular spot in the neighborhood. No wait on a weekday afternoon, but weekend brunch is super busy. Vibes were nice and the staff were friendly. However, the food was disappointing. Portion sizes were small, prices were high and the food wasn't executed well. The chicken cutlet in my sandwich was thin and dry. The eggs rothko were fine but also seemed sparse/lacking. It was just a piece of toast with egg and a sausage patty.
Very nice place with good vibes and food, Sandwiches were tasty and the eggs were well cooked.
Put our name in on a rainy Sunday at 1 PM (they text you when your table is ready) and got seated at 1:45 PM; just enough time to grab a coffee at Villager nearby while we waited. My boyfriend and I shared the Little Egg cruller, egg katsu sando and oat cakes. Cruller was great - a nice sweet start. Egg katsu sando was phenomenal and why you should visit. Oat cakes were good but nothing special... would try the French toast instead next time!
I wanted a quick brunch and decided to try this restaurant. I liked that they had crayons and paper on the table. Drawing while waiting was actually relaxing. I got the egg katsu sandwich, the country ham biscuit, and the butter cream cinnamon roll. The egg katsu was crispy. The biscuit was warm with salty ham. The cinnamon roll was sweet and soft. The portions were a bit small, but still enough to fill me up. Nice spot for a quick bite.
ok ok ok I am giving this a 4/5 but only because I tried one thing on the menu which was the oat pancakes and those were absolutely a 10/10. Light texture with really good sweet from the maple syrup and preserves. Service was quick and easy on a Monday and very cute space. I'd like to come back and try more but highly recc for the pancakes themselves.
I've gotten takeout from here a few times and it's always really yummy. Don't miss out on the cruller, they change up the flavor but it's always this juicy, airy pastry unlike any I've tried before, I especially like the fruity flavors but the black and white was delicious. The savories aren't as impressive, but the katsu egg sando was good (I don't love big egg chunk but the toppings were nice and I enjoyed it generally) and the eggs rothko were okay. The greens in the latter were quite bitter but I loved the addition of the tomatoes and the buttery brioche was a nice pairing with the egg and cheese. I'm giving the place five stars because I don't have a sweet tooth and don't usually revisit the same spots, but I have been thinking about that pastry since I tried it a year ago.
Famous Little Egg! The service was very swift and kind. There was about a 30-40 minute wait to be seated as per usual on a busy day in BK. We got seated in their backyard outdoor space which was very nice and refreshing. As for the food, they were out of most of their pastries. I decided to get the basic breakfast and it was good, nothing special. My friend got the katsu sandwich (which they're known for). Still very basic. I may be biased bc we're native New Yorkers and our egg sandwiches are *chefs kiss* good. I didn't get the most bang for my buck but it's worth a try! 8/10!
loved this little place. Staff was excellent. Friendly and helpful. the place was a little loud, so it was hard to hear a bit. they have a nice outside too, I got the rothko eggs with bacon, and my friend got the egg sandwich with added sausage. we liked both of them.
Cozy spot with incredibly kind staff. The Goat Sausage Sandi was really good. The Jap scurry Bun was good but it was a bit cold and lack sauce. There's heated outside seating in the back and every table has crayons and sheets you can draw on, which I was far more immersed in than the actual meal lol.
Correctness/Taste (1-5): I thought the egg katsu alone was delicious, the sauce (yuzu mayo) made it even better! I got it paired with the chicken sausage, which wasn't the best. If I were to do again, no sausage, I don't believe you need it for this sandwich. The chocolate milk is regular. - 4/5 Value (1-5): For what I got, I believe it is overpriced, even though it tasted really good, I don't know how many eggs are used to create the egg katsu, but $17 seems like a reach. There are other items on the menu that cost the same price but will make you feel more full. 3/5 Customer Service (1-5): The customer service was attentive and nice. 5/5
The gluten-free pancakes were so good I could cry. They were so fluffy and moist. They also come with this really nice fruit preserve that adds a nice touch to the oatmeal flavor. I had the scrambled eggs and bacon on the side, but honestly didn't need it because the pancakes could stand alone. My father ordered the French toast and he said it was delicious. I also saw that they had gluten-free toast. We went on a Monday morning and it was surprisingly busy but they took our order and brought out the food pretty quickly. It is a small neighborhood spot so I would either try to go on an off day or anticipate waiting on a line. I will for sure be back!
Little Egg in Prospect Heights is a cozy restaurant whipping up tasty breakfast and lunch fare in a casual atmosphere. We came after seeing Little Egg featured on the NYT best breakfast sandwich list to see is the hype around the egg katsu sandwich. After trying for ourselves, we are believers of the hype. The soft steamed egg is breaded in panko and fried, making for a delicious contrast of textures. We also appreciated the fluffy on the inside, crunchy on the outside hash brown as a side. The sleeper star of the meal however was the crueller, which was poppy seed glazed and topped with passionfruit curd. The perfectly fluffy crueller texture pairs perfectly with the slightly tart toppings for a balanced sweet treat to accompany a savory breakfast. After further diligence we are indeed in agreement with the critics on this one
Have had little egg on my radar for a while now and decided to go on a long walk and try it out. Cute interior, friendly staff. The famed Egg Katsu sando was good (I also got cheese and bacon on it) but for a ~$22 breakfast sandwich, I'm not rushing back. Glad I tried it though!

Quaint neighborhood spot that's perfect for brunch. Came here on a Saturday and while the wait was about an hr, there was plenty to do in the area to keep us busy. Every table has a placemat with crayons which is such a fun way to keep kids and adults entertained. The food was delicious and tasted fresh, living up to their messaging on sourcing local food. We ordered the egg katsu sandwich and the eggs rothko. The sandwich was very well made with a nice crisp panko crusting that didnt feel heavy on the oil, and yet still managed to have a light airy egg inside. The eggs rothko was buttery and flavorful but still managed to not feel too heavy. The broiled tomatos on the side were a nice touch to contrast the egg and toast from the main dish. Overall I enjoyed this place and would love to come back to try more dishes. The vibe was friendly and welcoming, making it the perfect weekend brunch spot. read more

Little Egg is so cute! From the small decorations to the fact that they give you crayons to color the paper on the table, it's a great vibe. The food is great too! I tried the egg katsu sandwich and wowow it was so tasty. Service was so friendly and nice, it really feels like a local spot and I'm excited to come back to try more of their menu read more

I've been wanting to try Little Egg's famous egg katsu sando for some time. Sando is really the wrong word, as it's served on a proper brioche - but given the centerpiece of the sandwich is a chawanmushi cutlet breaded in panko, I get what they were going for. The concept is great, although I had a few minor gripes. Some portions of the breading were a bit too salty, leading to a somewhat uneven bite. And would the sandwich be better on milk bread? I personally think there's a decent chance it could be. read more

Little Egg is great for breakfast or lunch, the Katsu sando is awesome and the homefry potato is great, especially with their hot sauce. They serve candied bacon! And a rotating selection of inventive pastries. Every table is covered with craft paper and they provide crayons so you can doodle while you wait for the food to come out. Always busy, get there early! read more
This is a solid choice. Check them out. We went on a Friday afternoon and was seated right away. Roxana was awesome and and helped us with selecting what to order. Please note, no tips allowed. We ordered and shared the following: Grafton cheddar Omelet; Single pancake $6.50 and the Egg Katrina sandwich. Everything was really tasty. Highly recommend the pancake. The omelet came with a tomato jam of some sort, that was a nice touch. I would have also liked if I tasted more of the cheese in the omelet. The Egg Katrina sandwich was unique and had a nice light crunch, due to the panko crust, when you first bite into it then you are greeted with a steamed egg patty. Try it for yourself. I'd visit again to try some of their other dishes. read more
I came here on a Sunday at 11 - there was a half an hour wait. If you come in about an hour later there's almost no wait. They take your name and number and text when your table is ready. They have a bar up front with seating for about 8 people. Lots of smaller tables up front and they are family friendly with crayons on all the tables. I definitely did a drawing! We tried the ham biscuit and egg and the eggs with hash browns. Sadly the ham was super salty for me so I couldn't eat too much of it but I did really like the soft and flakey biscuit. The food in general was well prepared and they don't rush you to finish up your meal / wrap up your table. They do check in on you once after they have served you as well. read more

Cozy neighborhood breakfast spot. Kind of small, only handful of tables. On Sundays, it seems they have large parties even at 9:30am when we stopped by. Lots of small children. It was a cold rainy and gloomy Sunday and when we walked in at 9:30, we were told there was a ONE HOUR wait! It ended up being more like 15-20 minutes to our pleasant surprise but still kind of a bad start to the experience. There were plenty of bar seats when we put our names down and then again later a few tables that remained empty even while we were finishing our meal. Little Egg cruller was $7. Strong cardamom flavor was the highlight. Kind of a firm bite and dense. Not sure if I'd try again. Egg katsu sandwich is $19. Added mushrooms for $3. Yuzu mayo was tasty and interesting. Loved the mix of king oyster? and maybe chanterelle mushrooms used. Comes with one small but hefty hash brown. Might get it again but not any time soon. The prices include gratuity since it's a tip free establishment. Honestly, nearby Stocked has a much cheaper sandwich that's equally good. Hibiscus iced tea was $6. Just okay. I might come again if someone insists, but a simple breakfast came to $70 for two, not sure if this an everyday place for me. read more

Cute restaurant with good food, nice vibes, and friendly service. I've heard good things from all my friends who live in the neighborhood, and so I finally made my way over to Little Egg for weekend brunch with a friend. They have both an indoor area as well as covered patio with space heaters in the back. We sat in the back. We were kept dry even though it was raining, although even with the space heaters it was a tad chilly. For food, I got the egg katsu sando with pork sausage added. It was really tasty! The egg was really silky and breaded/fried well, and I was very glad to have added a sausage for extra flavor. My friend got the grits bowl, which I tried a bite of and was very hearty/delicious. We also split a sweet potato snacking cake because I love all things sweet potato. It was ok, but honestly not that memorable. One thing I really appreciate about Little Egg is that it's a true no-tip business. It allows both the staff and diners to interact without any concerns around proper tipping and livelihood, which I really appreciate. All in all, a cute spot that has good vibes and solid brunch fair. Note, you will have to wait on the weekend! Pro-tip: put your name down and go grab a coffee at a nearby cafe as you wait. read more

Adorable little spot that is tucked away but well-known to locals! This place fills up quickly so I recommend getting there early! Service is great--they are very fast and attentive also which is always a plus. I also loved that they do not accept tips because they include the tip in the cost of their meals and pay their employees adequately instead of relying on a tips system! As do the food--the brûléed grapefruit with mint was phenomenal and I would eat that a thousand times over! I also loved the hash brown which is made in-house and is perfectly crispy--kind of like a latke based on shape and size. Huge fan there. No the reason I kept a couple stars off--the grits bowl. To me this was more of a bowl of cooked veg, featuring a little bit of grits than what I would consider a "grits bowl." This could be delicious for some, I just was not a fan of the flavor or veg included--and was left hoping for more grits and less veg at the end honestly. I will be back because I feel that I ordered the wrong thing, and that this place has more to offer! I'll be back, just to try something else instead. read more
5 stars just for the famous egg katsu sando alone! I'm so happy I got to try it yesterday and I definitely see why it made the NYTimes top sandwiches list. It's well worth the $17 price tag. The texture and flavor is perfect, especially with a bit of their hot sauce. Highly recommend, and can't wait to return to have it again. We did takeout since there was about a 20 min wait for a table so would love to actually dine in next time. The side of hash brown was good for a couple of bites (it's a huge ball of fried potato) but then it got too heavy/starchy for me - I'd go for salad next time. read more
Egg, formerly in Williamsburg, just opened a new, smaller location appropriately named Little Egg, where Meme's Diner used to be. Definitely get some eggs, especially the Egg Katsu Sando, the best thing we tried for sure. The BEC is good too, as is the Big Salad for a good healthier option to start. This place will be mobbed on the weekends, so plan accordingly. read more
My friends and I visited Little Egg for the residency with Reenie. We ordered the fish sandwich, tater tot, steak, and rhubarb shake. Our overall impression was that each dish was pretty salty. I loved the sauce and chives on the tater tot and the shake. I would be interested to see if the dishes are normally so salty here on their regular menu. read more

Super cute little brunch spot! We sat in the outdoor patio in the winter and it was lovely. Really nice cozy garden vibe. Good was good but not exceptional. Got the katsu breakfast sandwich but it was missing an acid. That's to say, a bit heavy and needed a slaw/pickle/sauce/etc. to break it up. Coffee was solid, but not necessarily memorable. Would return, but more so because it's a nice vibe and a good pick for friends! read more

Stopped by for some brunch at @eggrestaurant the other day. - Maple Cruller - Country Ham Biscuit - Hashbrowns - Iced coffee (not pictured) I really enjoyed everything. The cruller was more on the churro side, it was airy and light but coated in cinnamon sugar goodness. I was craving a biscuit so I had to go for the ham and cheese but I'll definitely try their egg katsu sammy next time. A cute, minimalistic spot that has quality brunch food. read more
Amazing flavor combinations! Their menu selection is a bit on the smaller side but you're bound to find something that fits your palette! Especially loved the Egg Katsu Sando, fluffy egg with a crispy katsu-like crunch on the outside. read more
