Everything you want from a diner is here at My Three Sons. It's family run - you will probably see the owner, it's super clean and you get the food you expect. These kinds of diners are unfortunately vanishing and I hope this one stays for a long tim

Always a pleasure when I order breakfast from here. It's not far from my job and delivery is generally quick. Definitely a plus for when I'm hangry in the morning. The food is decent and I love how they follow special instructions. Great place!

If you want a classic diner with no frills, My Three Sons is your place. If you want a fancy restaurant for IG shots, this is not the place for you. Places like this are dwindling and I'm glad I stumbled upon this little gem. Food was good, portions were fair and our waitress Val was a great balance between being attentive and giving you space. I hate it when restaurant staff hover or rush you to turn tables over. The booth behind me were two old ladies that were nice but incredibly fickle and picky and not once did I hear Val sigh or are any signs of annoyance. I ended up with the combo platter. The meats were cooked just right and both the fries and salad had ample feta cheese to go with. It was paired with pita tzatziki sauce. It was enough for a meal and then some! My brother got the bacon cheeseburger and added a fried egg. I appreciated how they double checked if he wanted the egg runny or well done. Not many places do that. We both were satisfied with our meal! They take cash or credit. There is some metered parking but your best bet is walking or mass transportation. All in all, it's a local place with regulars and I'm more than okay with that.

7/26/17 I've been living three streets down from this coffee shop in Dyker heights for about 15 years. I have only been in here about theee times for breakfast. The only reason for that is because I'm not really a diner type of person and I have to be honest Inwasnt crazy about their breakfast back then. Not sure how it is now but I was getting a manicure across the street and decided to go in and grab something quick to eat afterwards, and have no regrets doing so. I Was greeted right away, very friendly and attentive. I ordered the chicken kebab salad to go. I have to say, it was by far the best I've had! I would definately be coming back to order that salad again and try other dishes on the menu.

I really wanted this to be good because it's a small local diner, but the food was dry and bland. Good prices though.

Or are you going to get the professorial woman who acts like she could rescue Apollo 13 while mixing a dry martini while reading Joan Didion? Are you gonna get an airy twink as a server who wants to go back to Bushwick and lets you know that at every second, or are you going to get a serious experience with a focused, professional server. Ya never know. This used to be part of the charm, but now it's a liability because friends (and other chefs in the neighborhood) never want to go to Diner because...ya never know what it'll be. Diner has never coasted on continuity. They change up the menu every day. They write it on the paper tablecloth, for Chrissakes. But I still love that! I still find most of the food to be delicious (if pricey), I still think their cocktails are well-made (even if their bar is weirdly slow) and I love their brunch and I love the vibe, and I'm glad it's still here. Their Caesar salad is overrated, as is the burger, but they're always mixing it up. You could get lucky. Ya never know...

Cozy interior, but the concept seemed like...trying too hard to be different and hip...? Why do you make your waiters write down the menu on the table for each group of guests? Doesnt even save paper since those menus are not reused. And honestly, our waiter's handwriting was sometimes hard to read. Also, quite pricey. The crab pasta was $35, the celery root was also $35 (like what?!), the squash was $23, and the Caesar salad (not pictured) was $22. Service was friendly and knowledgeable on the food but slow.

But if you're looking for some excellent, straight forward, wonderfully crafted simplicity, this is in your wheelhouse. A quesadilla is a quesadilla, a hamburger a hamburger. Sounds boring? Not when your hamburger and quesadilla are amongst the best you've ever had at any diner, anywhere. Our waitress was very nice and allowed us to dine, unbothered. We ordered a fresh fruit platter for dessert. It included watermelon, mango, grapes, apples, strawberries, etc. very nice, well presented. The dining area certainly belies what happens in that kitchen behind the door. I'll be back to try some more simple, but excellent food.

We came because we were in the area and looking for a brunch spot. We saw someone said the steak was good! It was true! My partner said the steak was good! I myself got a quesadilla, which was also good. I thought that the food would be frozen as the menu was so big, but the quesadilla tasted like it was made then and there, maybe with frozen ingredients, but it was definitely put together on the spot to order. The waffle was okay. I wasn't a huge fan; the chocolate chips did not really melt into the waffle, which is something I look for in chocolate chip waffles, but my partner was still able to enjoy it! Despite this, I have to give this spot a 5 because the waitress was just so sweet and definitely brings this place to a 5-star!

The Confit mushroom toast was delicious. Salty, but flavorful. I didn't like poached eggs until I had this starter, because they did it right. The Sunday Pancakes were beautiful! A bit crispy but almost sponge/fluffy soft inside. The hazelnut maple praline was not too sweet. I'd recommend eating it as soon as it arrives at the table. The Sunday burger was great as well. We added avocado & chose sausage. I'm not a sausage gal, but I actually liked this sausage very much. My friend order a bloody, & there has not been a restaurant that I've ever said they make good bloodies, but this bloody was IT! I was impressed! Loved it. Service was great. Our server cared about me liking my drink, and was very kind and attentive. Understandably so a Michelin restaurant for one of the best places for brunch! I got hash browns as well..crisped up rectangular hash brown made from frozen. So disappointing..I was hoping for real freshly made ones. They tasted like the oil they were cooked in so I had to doze with them with sauces. Their ice tea is on point! Fragrant earl grey.. so good. And overall I appreciate the range of n/a drinks. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the service is great. A little slow but they still take care of you with a smile and I appreciate that!

Good drinks, and amazing vibes! I highly recommend! And yes, I would love to return in the future and try out the food. Either way, my advice for now is a resounding YES for visiting!

Whoever owns it this time, has figured out the perfect storm to not only stay open, but be constantly packed. Lines stretch out the door and down the block , waits can be over an hour for a table. I got lucky one night when there was no line & my girlfriend and I got a seat. To start off, the ambiance is rock solid, they got the classic old school American/ New York look. Beautiful lights, a sky line art work, comfy leather seats, and you can scribble on the table I love it. Staff & service are also amazing, there very attentive, respectful, friendly and the service is great, they do a great job in both of these aspects. However, their food is lacking. It's a very small menu, we ordered their burger, clams, wedge salad and Sunday. All of the items were fine, I personally didn't like the clams, I felt they were too dry, the burger was good but nothing you can't get anywhere else. The salad and Sunday weren't worth it. However, what was very disappointing, I believe they cook using cheap oils, because after our meal, my girlfriend & I just felt really bad in our stomach. I really wish this place well and hope they last, but the hype is way too high and I think they need to switch the oil and quality of their ingredients.

While they have all the traditional breakfast fare, I was so happy to see it also had a Caribbean twist to it. I couldn't help myself--I had to order rice and beans with pernil (pork shoulder) and a side of sweet plantains. Of course, I wanted some actual breakfast items, so we got the French toast loaded with fruit. We also got both the tres and quatro golpes, which is a traditional Dominican breakfast. Lastly, we got a Caribbean omelet. My rice and pernil was solid. The rice could've used a tad bit more seasoning but when mixed with the side of beans and plantains plus a drizzle of hot sauce it was perfect. They had a variety of sauces--Tabasco (my fave), a Jamaican one that was super spicy, and a mild homemade one. The tres/quatro golpes was also a hearty choice with mangu (mashed plantain), sausage, fried cheese, and eggs. The pickled red onion balanced everything out. The fried cheese is similar to a halloumi but I think it's a bit more flavorful. All the flavors just melt together in your mouth perfectly. The French toast and omelet were good. I'd say the Caribbean items stole the show though. The place has a typical diner vibe and is on the small side. Food was served quickly and service was good. Discount if you pay in cash. I will be coming back to try their Cuban!!

Apparently there is more than one location in Manhattan. The inside reminded me of a classic diner. Comfy and with a pretty cool vibe. We all slid into a booth and looked over the seasonal offerings along with their standard menu. I was lured by the chicken Kyiv based on the picture of having two rolled up chicken cutlets stuffed with dill and other yumminess, but was a bit disappointment when it arrived with a single small cutlet on my plate with two heaping mounds of potatoes mash and broccoli. I instantly had regret when I should have gotten the borscht soup with pierogies, but wanted to try something I wouldn't usually. I should've stuck to what was safe. My work mom got the stuffed cabbage and that was a clear homerun- really loved the mushroom gravy that it came with. My other colleague got the potato pancake and wasn't too thrilled with it, while my boss got the two Swedish meatballs that he described to be Ikea worthy. Although this was my first time here, I can't say that anyone really loved the food nor would come out of their way to come back. I really was hoping this would have wow-ed me in some way, but I guess I'll stick to what's familiar.

A friend and I each got a soup to start our meal, along with sharing a Potato Pancake. The Matzoh Ball Soup and Potato Pancake were good, but not great. However, I enjoyed the Pork & Cabbage Soup enough to take home a quart. For entree, we shared a Deluxe Meat Plate that was quite delicious. All three pierogi flavors were great, but the short rib was my favorite, followed closely by the mushroom & sauerkraut. I also really enjoyed the grilled kielbasa, but sadly it was served at room temperature. Lastly, the stuffed cabbage is not usually my thing, yet I liked this version. Once again, it was served barely warm. Thankfully, we finished on a high note. My friend really wanted the Challah Bread Pudding, which was moist and tasty. However, the lovely waitress advised us strongly to try the Medovyk. This Ukrainian layered honey cake had a wonderful texture, not too creamy or sweet, with a great walnut flavor. We were extremely happy with her suggestion. We also really liked the diner vibes that felt warm and inviting. This was so close to a five star review. The main reason for the deduction was the temperature of our food being served. Hopefully that problem will be solved on my next visit.
