We went in during weeknight dinner with the family and got a booth in the corner. This place isn't really busy on a weeknight dinner so we managed to feast in privacy. The waitress was cute and funny and took our order in Brooklyn fashion- kind and sarcastic. The inside looks like an old timey diner with lots of seating and room for people. I can imagine a lot of people come here for breakfast. The parking garage was quite full when we arrived but most people left after 7pm. We got a lot of things including: roast chicken dinner special, steak with shrimp scampi, filet Mignon, penne patraso, linguine bolognese, side of spinach, green beans for a party of 6 and when we received it it was so large I couldn't believe my eyes. For the price point the food definitely serves up the portions- and even more. I thought their pasta dishes were really tasty and the steak with shrimp scampi was really good- I think the filet Mignon was slightly undercooked but that's probably because they cooked it at once when we got TWO whole pieces. I didn't know their steak dishes had two full pieces. I think that's where I wish they have cooked each filet Mignon piece separately vs together. I think it would've made the steak much better cooked. Their roast chicken dish special was pretty much an entire chicken and I was a little shocked with the portions and super full to be thinking about extras however they didn't give us the dessert after the chicken but we were too full to think about dessert- basically we didn't make it through the meal! I was with some colleagues and they wanted lunch. I've drove past "Perry's Restaurant" for years and never went. I told everyone, I know where to go. Perry's was my next visit. We were pretty close to the restaurant. When we arrived, the parking lot was packed. It's small, so it took time finding a spot. Outside the building is dated. However there were hungry people so we went in. Inside was surprisingly nice. It had a modern feel, with dark half walls. The gentleman at the counter told us to sit where we wanted. So we took a large round table, once we all ordered, we talked while we waited. When the food came out, we were amazed by the large portions. I only wish I didn't eat the bread they put on the table. But now it was time to eat and review. My meal was okay. The burger was good, but the French fries lacked. They gave mayo packets instead of a scoop in a bowl. Last my seltzer was okay, not as cold as I would like. Either way, I would go again, my team, loved the food. Maybe I'm just too high maintenance for a burger spot, but, who am I kidding , I like what I like, and French fries matter. read more

It was interesting first time experience. Service was mostly friendly and very good. You get some chickpeas, pickles, and coleslaw for the table. The soup is being offered in two small cups on a long tray, that have seen a few years. This was unusual. The sandwich was tasty but bread fell apart. Table was a little sticky and napkins were paper thin. Ambience was old family diner feel and basically clean. Bathroom seat can use a repair. Will return, but try seating in the chairs area. But the meat itself lacked seasoning, and the jalapeño pepper jack cheese and tomato salsa didn't add much flavor either. Service is excellent but the food is hit or miss. They have an extensive menu, which is a double-edged sword because yes, there's lots of variety, but it's at a loss of quality and specialization. We came here for a family lunch and the restaurant was super accommodating. I was greeted immediately when I entered the restaurant, and you can feel the genuine hospitality. Service came around often and they were responsive to needs and requests. Since it was lunchtime, we couldn't resist ordering their lunch specials - comes with soup or salad, a side (fries, potato, or veg), coffee or tea, and dessert! In addition to dinner rolls and breadsticks, the table was also offered a complimentary plate of chickpeas, coleslaw, and pickles to start the meal - all were tasty. For soup offerings, they had lobster bisque, clam chowder, chicken noodle, and matzah ball soup. The lobster bisque sounds alluring, but it was a big miss. The texture and flavor was thick and creamy in a floury and bland way... we asked to exchange the soup and they did so without any fuss. I exchanged it for the matzo ball soup which is just chicken noodle soup and a matzo ball on the side. The matzo ball by itself was bland, but if you drop it in the broth like you're supposed to, it absorbs some of the flavor. The chicken noodle soup could've used more seasoning overall. Also a note about the clam chowder, for some reason, I assumed New England (white) clam chowder, but it's actually Manhattan (red/orange) clam chowder, naturally (when in New York...). The clam chowder was basically minestrone with some clams thrown in. The inclusion of the soup with the lunch special is a nice gesture, but I'll pass next time. My entree was much more pleasant. I ordered the gyro platter which came with fries, a Greek side salad, and garnished with an onion ring - a platter indeed! The lamb gyro meat was tender and flavorful. It comes in a pita and with tzatziki sauce, and you can fill the pita with some of the Greek salad for a hearty wrap. No complaints with my entree. Since it's a Greek-family restaurant, you can't go wrong with the Greek food. The breakfast dishes also looked solid. We came with a large party, so instead of an individual dessert choice for lunch, it ended up being a whole cake to share (it was someone's birthday so they also brought out candles and sang). I would've liked to explore other cake flavors on their menu, but I understand the trade-off of serving a large party. I do highly commend the staff. Not only is Perry's a family-owned restaurant, but it also FEELS like a family-owned restaurant. They welcome customers like family, and it's no wonder why people will keep coming back. read more

I haven't been to Perry's in years so I thought that I would give it a try. I ordered food to be delivered. The amount of time for the delivery was about an hour which is pretty standard for a weekend. The big problem is that the food was cold and the delivery person did not come up 4 steps to the door. He stood outside the building and yelled at the window about a delivery. Luckily we heard a voice outside and looked out the window. Visited for lunch yesterday and can't wait to come back. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The lunch specials were very reasonably priced at $24 and included your choice of salad or soup, coffee and even dessert. The servers were super attentive constantly refilling coffee and water cups. I was worried about parking since the parking lot is quite small but luckily we found a spot. The complimentary bread, coleslaw, pickles, and chickpeas were so generous I took my meal home for dinner. I have driven by Perry's Restaurant for many years and never had the chance to stop by. We decided to try it out today and we can't believe we haven't tried it earlier. A breakfast for $25, you truly can't beat that. Nonetheless it wasn't just the price that we appealing. Breakfast was great! My griddle cakes were made with fluffy perfection! I also liked how often staff came around to make sure your coffee cup was always refilled. We came into this cozy family friendly restaurant with the most welcoming staff and atmosphere. A lot of the dinners come with soup or salad, dessert and coffee so you don't have to pay extra for them. When you sit down they put a plate of chick peas, coleslaw, warm bread and breadsticks for you. And the wait staff can't do enough for you. But it may not be a place to travel to from far off. The meal comes with complementary bread basket, chickpeas, coleslaw, nd pickles. The chickpeas are really good. Some of the bread comes toasted and has olive oil. The toasted bread came burnt. I had Perry's Super Burger it was really filling. It came with mozzarella cheese, peppers, onions, mushrooms. It also comes with lettuce, tomato, French fries, and onion rings on the side.
