I has just dropped off my daughter at school and needed to be back in an hour and a half for a school trip so I decided to explore Sunset Park for an open cafe. Since I had run out of my home without having breakfast, my stomach was rumbling. A simple coffee with concha wasn't going to be enough for my appetite. And let me tell you the best part...all of that deliciousness is only $13.95. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I saw another sign that showed that they serve a milkshake called morir sonando. I knew then that I had hit the the breakfast jackpot because I hadn't had one in a long time and I have craved it since then. Was I truly disappointed, besides wanting over 30 minutes for our order of 3 cheese burgers deluxe the food was pretty bad. The Cole slaw was runny and warm, bad. Ok so the food is good I order chicken sandwich or waffles anything that seems appetizing to me. The only problem for me and hope many more, is when I order from phone or even in person I have to ask for steak fries and before I didn't have to specifically order stake fries when an order includes fries. Me and my siblings are always disappointed when we get the regular fries and not the stake fries. Was wondering what to have for lunch and stumbled upon this diner. What an easy choice! I'm always a fan of diners. We were seated right away. Pretty spacious restaurant especially there are more seatings in the back area. I had my usual western omelette. Glad I was able to have salad instead of fries. Update nothing changed over last 7 years. This place should be inspected by health inspection and permanently closed. They're literally serving hazardous food, someone will eventually die. Absolutely Revolting. Nothing is fresh. The chefs are horrible. Soup tastes like microwaved vomit. Everything they serve is frozen and then microwaved, and the waiting time of 40 minutes is an illusion of your food being cooked. Veggies - spoiled/frozen/microwaved - in that order. They don't even make their own dough, for instance pizza is made on industrially prepackaged perfect-10inch-circle pita bred or some such thing. Place, chef, owner are a disgrace. Do not be a fool by going to this place, it has lower standards than high school cafeteria, you wouldn't even give most of that food to a dog. read more

Love the old school diner feel. Looks like time stopped there. We were meeting up with friends and their kids (total 7people) for a breakfast before play time. We needed something hearty, and we got it. The corned beef hash was very tasty and the eggs were nicely runny - just the way we like them. The pancakes and French toast were also yummy. The portions were huge and we could not finish everything. The coffee was hot but could have been refilled more. Service was slow and our hungry crowd was very hungry by the time the food came. Definitely not super friendly but nice enough. The food is good I'm never quite disappointed. There was that one time though that I ordered the Quesadillas steak and it comes with rice, guacamole and beans. The guacamole tasted really bad it might have been because it was too ripe but I didn't eat it. Which if I'm being honest shouldn't happen at a restaurant. The service is ok they take really long to bring the food though. There is a rude waitress around and it really ruins the mood, but other than that everyone there is really nice. Just finished eating at this establishment. Extremely horrible experience! The seating experience was great, the host was very nice to us. The experience went left after we ordered our food. The server expressed that one of the appetizers we ordered would take a long time (baked potato). We then proceed to order baked clams for an appetizer which she did not let us know would take a long time. We also order regular breakfast items ( mangu and French toast). We waited over 25 minutes to get our food. We saw two tables sit after us and get their food RIGHT AWAY! My girlfriend and I are of African American descent. We were the ONLY black people in there. The other people were of Hispanic descent. I felt extremely discriminated against. I myself am in the serving industry for 7+ years. I also work for the Fire Department for 5+ years. So I KNOW AND UNDERSTAND HOW SERVING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKS! The manger that I spoke to tried to explain that the server was probably tired from working a double shift. I work for a company where I do double shifts all the time and treat every customer the same! The server never came back up to us , she acted as if she was afraid of us! She was all laughs and giggles with every other table but us! I ended up feeling so uncomfortable in this establishment we just wanted to leave right away and we didn't finish our food. A great place. This is neighborhood business at its finest. George's has been around at least forty years and there is a reason why! Neighborhood vibes and a feeling of family, like it's saying,"welcome to the neighborhood". Teddy, the owner, is a regular guy who is easy to talk to and a good fella, an original Brooklyn guy! I love this place for one thing. Well really 2 things, their hamburgers, and vanilla milkshakes. This place is like a throwback to the old malt shop. The milkshakes have a touch of sweetness that can't be matched anywhere. I've ordered from here for over 10 years and the quality has remained the same! Quality food, Quality service, and a very wide delivery range. The burger is about as big as your face, and always cooked to perfection. For some reason, I can NOT eat these things slowly. The lines can be somewhat long on weekends and especially so after the church next door gets out. I have only come here for breakfast, their typical breakfast special is about 5$ including eggs, home fries, toast and coffee. George's is your typical neighborhood diner. I am from the area so I have eaten here on mnay occassions over the years, but they are a secondary choice because they are overly expensive. For instance, I got two eggs with cheese on a roll with fries and that came out to almost $15 plus the delivery fee. I found that to be extremly excessive, but i had no choice but to pay it. They have a decent menu, they accept cards unlike Sunset Diner and Donuts and they are somewhat prompt. The staff is courteous but is sometimes a bit crowded on weekends...i guess that is to be expected.
