Tiny little place, lightly decorated with Mexican themes. Came here based on Yelp's high ratings and it certainly lived up to praise. If you're looking for fanfare, this ain't the place. But if you're looking for some excellent, straight forward, wonderfully crafted simplicity, this is in your wheelhouse. A quesadilla is a quesadilla, a hamburger a hamburger. Sounds boring? Not when your hamburger and quesadilla are amongst the best you've ever had at any diner, anywhere. Our waitress was very nice and allowed us to dine, unbothered. We ordered a fresh fruit platter for dessert. It included watermelon, mango, grapes, apples, strawberries, etc. very nice, well presented. We were staying in the neighborhood and trying to find a spot within walking distance for dinner. After wandering around for awhile, we landed on Jey Diner after walking past. This spot has a handful of tables and while we were there, quite a few to-go orders were picked up as well. Though we were the only diners, so I assume it's more of a breakfast/brunch spot. The menu is rather expansive with options from breakfast to lunch and dinner. After studying the menu, we opted for the Veggie Burger and the Meatball Parm Po'Boy. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes, which seemed a little long as we were the only diners, but we were not in a rush so it was fine. As the restaurant was unassuming, I honestly had pretty low expectations, but we both really enjoyed our meals. It was definitely large portions and really flavorful. My fiance said the Meatball Parm Po'Boy was delicious and I appreciated that the veggie burger seemed to be made in house as it was falling apart (in a good way) and you could distinguish some of the veggies. Small diner in Park Slope. The waitress was so nice! The menu was a little overwhelming, but the food was solid and the prices were very affordable. It feels like a small family run shop. We came because we were in the area and looking for a brunch spot. We saw someone said the steak was good! It was true! My partner said the steak was good! I myself got a quesadilla, which was also good. I thought that the food would be frozen as the menu was so big, but the quesadilla tasted like it was made then and there, maybe with frozen ingredients, but it was definitely put together on the spot to order. The waffle was okay. I wasn't a huge fan; the chocolate chips did not really melt into the waffle, which is something I look for in chocolate chip waffles, but my partner was still able to enjoy it! Phenomenal bacon egg and cheese. The eggs in my sandwich was cooked perfectly which complimented the salty bacon and creamy cheese. My boyfriend had the pancakes and they were fluffy and delicious! The owner was attentive and had offerings of different sauces for my sandwich as well. I also got a green juice which tasted very healthy lol. This is a little hidden gem in BK, I have to be frank and you guys are going to hate me, especially the regulars but the prices are so affordable! Combined with the fact that the food is actually delicious. It's spot on for diner food and that is hard to say in NY these days because the scene is just so tired and repetitive. I did appreciate they were open on Xmas day because it was a very warm and inviting environment. The staff was friendly and attended us very well, regardless of the fact they seemed short staffed on this day. We will absolutely be back because we enjoyed everything about our meals. Don't let the ambience fool you This place is making Michelin star quality food. The service is amazing, very kind and friendly. The food is quality, there is a wait time sometimes but it's well worth it. There isn't anything I haven't ordered off the menu that hasn't been delicious. I never take photos of my food but I have gone back so many times this has literally become our new grounds to eat out. They have put everything other restaurants that we would go to out for us. If you're looking for a "traditional" diner, this isn't quite that. No giant full color menu, no counter seating, no booths. BUT what this place does have is good food with big portions at reasonable prices! We had a fried chicken sandwich and the JEY burger, both of which were cooked perfectly and had fresh, delicious toppings. The side of seasoned fries was good as well. Service was excellent and our food came promptly. Great to see a place like this in the neighborhood! We'll definitely be back to explore the menu further. A diner is always a welcome addition to the neighborhood and while I wholeheartedly advocate for supporting small business I can say that I was disappointed in my meal from here. For starters, the kitchen appears to be behind a closed closet door and I have no idea where they are making food. But, not a huge issue as most kitchens are behind swinging closed doors. My bigger issue was with my food, a burger and fries. When at a diner I always go for a medium-well burger and this one was simply undercooked. While eating it, I had to scoop out the raw meat from the middle of the burger with my finger to get a better look at how underdone it was. My fries can best be described as dry and shriveled, as if they had been sitting in the basket and re-dipped into the fryer when a customer ordered them. I'd say there's time for Jey to work out the kinks since they just opened and I intend to give them another shot, but for now, unfortunately, I leave my review at 2 stars. read more

How did you make chicken fingers & fries feel special again? That strawberry salad is a frequent order for sure. Basic iced coffees are right on and they do fun frappes & shakes if you need a little treat. Their huevos rancheros are so good, even on delivery the eggs are perfect, the flavor hits, the guac ties it all together. Guy behind the counter is awesome, it's nice to actually feel welcomed when you walk in. They're on seamless.
