Hidden gem for sure, it gets super busy on the weekends around brunchtime but then settles down in the late afternoon. We shared the enchiladas de mole poblano and chilaquiles and both were delicious. The mole is sweeter and less rich than I've had before, but I really liked the flavor and ended up mopping up every last bit of sauce with the rice on the side. The chilaquiles we got with the green salsa, which was a subtle flavor and not too spicy. The mole was my favorite by far but it was yummy to mix the two dishes in one bite. The scrambled eggs were an interesting choice for on top, I prefer fried for this dish but I think it worked. The service was fairly fast given how busy they were and all the staff were kind. The fun holiday décor scattered around really makes it feel like a cozy family diner. read more

Very nice Mexican diner. The atmosphere is warm and homey, and the restaurant was packed for weekend brunch. The hubs and I enjoyed watching the hustle and bustle on a sunny day from our bar top table. The food is very good diner food. Definitely not elevated by any means, but a great casual and local spot. I enjoyed my Mexican Panini with fries. The chorizo and eggs dish was pretty good, but we'd probably skip that next time. Service is friendly and fast. Recommended for a relaxing and unpretentious breakfast or lunch. read more

We had a wedding party in Brooklyn which we referred to Sunrise Espresso & Bar for breakfast, lunch, and drinks between festivities. We had been there before and love the quality of their food and drinks, but also their service and friendliness. Highly recommended, for example when the breakfast at your hotel is a bit subpar. read more

We stopped in at this very pleasant new café for the first time and enjoyed an excellent brunch/lunch. The service was excellent; we ordered variations in each dish due to food allergy or diet, which the staff accommodated very graciously. I had a salad with quinoa; my husband had chilaquiles with salsa verde, and he wants to return for the chilaquiles with a salsa roja. Ambiance was agreeable, sunny and spacious, not noisy. A good addition to the neighborhood. We will return. read more

This is my second time in two weeks. The food is absolutely incredible!!!! The first time my husband and I had the Mexican breakfast with salsa verde eggs, rice and beans and the most delicious, soft tortillas I have ever had. Also had the fresh squeezed orange juice and it was fresh. The real deal. Prior to the second visit I couldn't stop thinking about how incredible the food was so of course I went back the following weekend. My husband I ordered the same dish: Mexican shrimp dish with again the incredible rice and beans and soft tortillas. We ordered the same thing because we both wanted the shrimp dish and didn't want to share because we knew it was going to be good and we weren't disappointed. The service was great; the staff and owner were very accommodating and friendly. Planning my third visit and this time will order the burger. Spied various burgers on the plates of others customers and they looked delicious. read more

Went here for brunch. We ordered the French toast, pier 4 burrito and huevos rancheros. Everything was tasted great. The service was quick and friendly. The place is spacious, bright and lively. My only comment is the music was a bit loud but it wasn't too bad. I'll definitely do plan to come back again. read more

I'd give no stars if I could. I was there just this morning. Ordered the scrambled eggs with chorizo, rice, black beans. They served me scrambled eggs with what appeared to be diced sausage ( not traditional chorizo as advertised in the menu) when I brought to their attention that this isn't the chorizo I was expecting and requested just a side of scrambled eggs so I could continue eating my meal... they brought out the eggs (bland just my luck) when the time came to pay I noticed they had not only charged me for the eggs and chorizo I DID NOT EAT but also the side of scrambled eggs! Ridiculous if you ask me. I had no problem paying for my initial meal but the side of eggs I had to order because they falsely advertised a dish on their menu???? To me it seems as though they have a lack of consideration for customer satisfaction which is A HORRIBLE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. I'm not saying customer is always right absolutely not but I've worked in the food industry for years and they handled this terribly. Would not recommend this place! There are more considerate establishments you can give your money to! read more
